Inventory pic online as of 7/28

This place is absolutely horrible. Especially Sparks location. How can you post a picture of a vehicle and then when the customer goes to your location your location deliberately crush in the whole vehicle so no parts or anything can be salvaged off it. In the picture online it in a condition you could salvage parts from but from what your so called yard personnel did is just wrong. Not only did they do it to 1 but they did it to all of them. I will post pictures to prove it. Not to mention when you tell the front desk checkin-out person they are like not my job and no money refunded. I wouldn't of spent $3.00 not to mention the gas to drive here if I knew you smash the shit out of vehicle that didn't need to be smashed and then place it on the lot. Don't fall got the pictures of inventory online. Because what is in their lot does not match pictures at all. I will never go back to this location and post the correct pictures or refund money.

Hand stamp so that we can go home to get different tools and then re-enter, if necessary.

The Latin phrase "Momento mori" means "remember death." When I look at the vehicles at Pick-n-Pull, I think, "there, but for the grace of God, goes my 2008 Hyundai Sante Fe." The most obvious reason one goes to the junkyard is to salvage parts, but an ancillary consequence of going is that it might lead one to appreciate ever more dearly the vehicles one owns that are not totaled. My husband is a car guy, and his current project is a J32 engine swap in his 1994 Miata. I have gone with him to Pick-n-Pull on three occasions to look for parts. He is able to use their website database to see their inventory, and when there is a vehicle with compatible parts, we go to check it out. He has nabbed a wiring harness, a steering rack, an instrument cluster, and some other parts with names I cannot remember, and purchased them at a fraction of the price of used on Cragislist or new. The entrance fee is $2 per person. You'll pay the fee, sign in, and get a hand stamp so that you can return later in the day if, say, you forget to bring the necessary tools. The different areas of the yard are well-labeled, and the online database indicates in which row the vehicle is located. You'll be walking on dusty gravel, so wear closed shoes. You pay for what you take as you leave, and you can have the cashier mark your item if you'd like to take advantage of the 30-day money-back guarantee. I know that I'm generous with my Yelp stars, but trust me, y'all, I love coming here. Seeing the guts of cars in various states of disrepair fascinates me. I gain a genuine appreciation for the fleeting quality of material life (any vehicle can experience the misfortune of being totaled!) and for the conscientiousness of the people who do the hard work of finding parts to fix or improve their vehicles. The people in the trailer who take one's entrance fees or tally up the cost of what one has taken always provide solid customer service. There's a port-a-pot if you gotta go, and the sight of people cycling on the riverwalk next to the junkyard always makes me happy. The true mark of a five-star establishment: I've even invited a new-to-Reno friend who expressed interest in my husband's engine swap to come with one Saturday morning. He and his partner came, and this was both of their first time in a salvage yard. Double date! They found the experience fascinating. Sounds like the beginning of a joke: three humanities Ph.D.'s and a redhead walk into a junkyard...

Was able to sell my dad's car quickly and easily.

This review is for the selling of a car only. My dad has recently become disabled and no longer able to drive. His car was not well taken care of, as you can see from my picture, and even though it still ran, I did not want to bother with trying to sell his car especially since it was not worth much money. I decided to try the online quote that Pick-n-Pull offered and it was super easy! I filled out a very short form and accepted the quoted price. Within 24 hours a Pick-n-Pull operated called me to confirm a date and time for a tow truck to come pick up the car. I needed the title in hand during the call to read off some information on the title. When the tow truck driver arrived, my dad signed the title in front of the driver and the driver turned over the check. Very simple and easy process. You won't get much for your car, but if you are looking for a quick and convenient way to get rid of an unwanted car, this is the way.

It's a big yard with a lot of selection in vehicles. I maintain my fleet easily and properly with access to this pick n pull.

Summit Racing - A Masterclass in Inefficiency…read more I walked into Summit Racing expecting a quick visit. What I got was a full-blown endurance test of patience. It started with a door greeter--clearly physically limited, yet insistent on escorting me to the product instead of just pointing. While I appreciate the effort, that move eliminates any chance I might browse for additional items. I grabbed what I came for and realized I needed one more inexpensive part--about $7. I asked an employee where to find it, and instead of helping, she just pointed to a line of 10 people. So I waited. When I got to the register, the guy behind it was slouched in a chair, resting his head on the counter like he was about to nap. He scanned my product and said it was all set. I asked where to pick it up, and he pointed me to another line--this one about 15 people deep. I waited again. Finally, I got to the front, the guy rang up my items, handed me a bag... and my $7 item wasn't in it. When I asked, he pointed to another line to stand in to get it. So back in line I went--for the third time. Fifteen more minutes pass. One poor guy is pulling orders while three others stand at the register chatting and doing absolutely nothing. When the orders come out, mine is clearly one of them--just a small part. The customer in front of me wants to open his boxes, check fitment, color, function, maybe even alignment with the stars. I politely ask if I can just grab my tiny part and go. The staff says, "No. You must wait." So I did--seven more minutes--because policies apparently matter more than people. This entire system is broken. Unnecessarily complicated, painfully slow, and staffed by people who don't seem to care if you ever come back. Spoiler: I won't. Summit Racing, you've lost a customer. And I honestly have no idea how you're still in business with a setup like this.

So I got it going and took it over to the Autozone on Prater Way. I had opted not to replace my battery before because it was expensive and my car was starting, so that's why I knew what I needed. Admittedly, as I've gotten older, I don't go to auto parts stores like I used to but my prior experience was that you go in, you buy what you need, and you figure it out. I had the good fortune of having Freddy at my cashier, aka Federrick W (I knew I would forget, so I took a picture ). He really went above and beyond coming out not only to sell me the new battery, but to offer to put it for me *and* clean the corrosion off the connectivity that apparently, Tires Plus had chosen not to do when they told me I needed a new one. It was about 98° out that day and of course I was parked in the lot, so it wasn't comfortable out but he took care of this *and* provided me with some good conversation while he did it. I don't get out very often because I take care of my mother with dementia, have my grandkids a lot, and just in general, tethered to home. I had that day to run errands, and I didn't want to waste that time. He also got me back on the road faster than I expected. I live closer to another Autozone, but I will go to this one in the future just because of this particular experience. Even the other employees I encountered were incredibly welcoming, and it made what could have been a pain in the ass a pleasant experience. Highly recommend, and if you are there, look for "Federrick W" - Freddy!
