I have a local garage in Boulder City and I have used them for a number of years. They had recently performed a 100,000 mile service which included new spark plugs. I trust them completely. So for this place to keep insisting my spark plugs needed replacement was insulting to me and my trusted mechanics. Also, I don't know if prices are higher here due to proximity to CA, but labor was over $50 higher per hour. Shame on me for not shopping around, but I relied on the overall good rating this shop received.

I called to make an appointment for fluid exchanges as my car is nearing 90,000 miles. Before they scheduled the fluid exchanges I requested, they offered to do research to look into my specific make, model, and year to ensure that the items I was asking for would be due and pertinent. They called back within 10 minutes, gave me the research the found, and suggested a transmission exchange service and brake fluid exchange. I dropped my car the morning of my appointment and they were done before 2:00. This is the first car shop I've been to that doesn't smell of oil and tires. And the men behind the counter were dressed nicely in button down shirts with ties. They explained what the services would entail and what they should help with. And boy did my car sound and drive better than she has in a while! I recently went online to schedule an oil change and it was the easiest scheduling platform I've used. So I scheduled a 9:00 am appointment for a diagnosis. Took the day off. I got there at 8;45 am. They told me they could not diagnose it till 3:00 pm. I showed them my email with a 9:00am appointment They said, oh most people just drop their car off. Their appointments have no meaning. English words have meaning but not to them. I'm sure you can't tell them most businesses just give me the bill and I pay it later in the afternoon

I went to another place in town that told me I needed $1500 in maintenance and then when I asked again two months later, someone at the same shop told me I needed $400 in routine maintenance. I came here for an oil change and told them that if they noticed anything they thought needed a tune up - I was game as I was about to make a big cross country trip. They came back and said everything looked great. I ran through the list from the first quote I had and they eased my mind. They let me know that they thought all of that was unnecessary and didn't make sense given the past maintenance and state of the vehicle. It was so nice to feel like I was dealing with honest humans. Very helpful and casual.. he even said they could just look to see if I need my serpentine belt needs to be replaced on the Lexus.. Since I am having the oil change there, I scheduled for the 4runner to get an oil change.. for next week. The office has wifi, so that's handy to get some work done or just surf the web. My job was quoted at two hours but they felt they could get it done in about an hour. My car was ready in about 75 minutes. I'll take it. I had a simple brake fluid flush. My car was returned clean (no greasy finger prints), the service light was reset and my brakes performed as expected. That really stood out to me because it showed they actually wanted to make sure the engine was worth fixing before spending more money. After that, Clayton took over and continued helping me through the process. He explained everything clearly and kept me updated the whole time. They found multiple issues like intake leaks, an injector problem, and a radiator leak, but I never felt pressured to fix everything at once. I really appreciated that they worked with me and let me prioritize what I could afford. I ended up fixing the main issue, and the misfire is now gone. The car is running much better. Repairs aren't cheap, but I felt like they were honest and transparent throughout the whole process. Communication was great, and I always knew what was going on.
