Changing my review because, once again, I had another disappointing experience with this dealership. I've been trying to purchase a Tacoma for over a week. I initially worked with Nikolai, who removed the dealer add-ons over the phone to help make the numbers work. After running my credit, the APRs came back higher than my previous purchase. Keep in mind this would have been my fifth vehicle purchased from this dealership in the last four years. I felt like very little effort was made to find a solution until I pushed for additional options through Toyota Financial. The next day, a store manager contacted me and said they had received a better approval tier and encouraged me to come in so we could make a deal happen. During one conversation, I jokingly mentioned that this would be my fifth vehicle and maybe I should start leasing. I was told not to worry about the numbers and to come in. Once I arrived, the dealer add-ons that had previously been removed were added back into the deal, and I felt heavily pushed toward leasing instead of purchasing. Throughout the interaction there were multiple eye rolls, awkward body language, and an overall feeling that my business wasn't valued. I ultimately decided to walk away. Afterward, I asked if there was any flexibility in the pricing. Instead of trying to work through options, I was told we were "thousands apart" and that I should look for something cheaper. When I asked about an SR5, I never received a follow-up response. I had to contact the dealership myself to request a different salesperson. I later returned and worked with another salesperson. He simply asked where I wanted to be payment-wise. I explained my goal and acknowledged that I was probably already at the limit of what was realistic. When I asked if the Pro Pack could be removed, a person at a nearby desk interrupted the conversation and stated that it would not be removed because I was already getting a good deal. The interaction came across as rude and unprofessional, especially since they weren't directly involved in the discussion. I was essentially told that if I wasn't happy, I could leave. So I did. As a repeat customer who has purchased multiple vehicles here, I expected a much higher level of professionalism and customer service. Beyond incredible! From the moment we pulled up, to the moment we left everyone was fantastic! They were accommodating, knowledgeable, and professional. I Will forever recommend Dolan Toyota to everyone that I know after having such a great experience. The finance manager Michael, took such great care of us. He really went above and beyond to help get us the best deal, and made the entire process so easy and comfortable. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted outside by one of the managers. He invited us inside and offered us a couple of water bottles. It was so nice because it was already pretty warm out. We were told that we could help ourselves to anything that we wanted including the unlimited coffee station. They have two separate Keurig machines and about fourteen kinds of coffee to choose from. There's also decaf coffee and then a few types of hot tea and hot chocolate. For those who are purchasing a vehicle you may also help yourself to the food and drink counter. They have a few pre-made sandwiches to choose from, chips and sodas/ energy drinks/ iced tea. Hats are also included. We needed to have our windshield looked at by the service team for a small bubble crack. We were given a complimentary car rental for the time that our car would be serviced and that was amazing. The whole rental experience couldn't have gone better, Rena is exceptional! When we came to return the rental and pick up our car, the service team went above and beyond as well to ensure everything was perfect for us before leaving the dealership. They ended up replacing our windshield completely, free of charge. We couldn't be more grateful for everyone we encountered. Most definitely 10 out of 10! Thank you so much Dolan fam! Dubious revenue generation practices. My daughter came in for a 30k miles prepaid service with a Toyota recall on some cables. The service advisor recommended additional non-Toyota items. 1. Brake fluid system flush, $230 2. Rear differential oil change, $107 3. Mass air flow clean, $117 4. Air filter change, $57 I stopped the air filter change because it's a 5 minutes job, 2 clips released, $10 filter from Amazon or Walmart. I authorized 1 to 2, because it's something of a good preventative maintenance but I'm miffed at 3. the MAF clean at $117. My bad, I should've been more careful since it's a $10 item from Walmart and easy to do. On the recall item, the service advisor said they didn't have it in stock, so I said fine we'll wait for when it's available. However, she wrote up that we declined the item. I corrected her and made her change the description correctly. If I had to guess, it's written so that if the item broke, they would point to the decline note and charge us for the repair. I let the whole thing go for experience. In my 12 years owning a Lexus at 60k miles, not once did the Lexus garage suggested any of those items. Today made me angry, 2 weeks after the 30k service and over $400 additional work, we came in for the recall item and the service advisor came up with new recommendations for tires services, swap, balancing, etc for a discounted price of $250 " while they have the car in". I know they are in business for profit but this is borderline ridiculous and unacceptable way to make more money on unsuspecting customers. read more

Recently bought a car here, an issue rose and the manager Ricky mentioned helping take care of this problem. Weeks passed, multiple visits, and various phone calls and no response was ever met. This issue was outside of their control, fine, but at least say "no" and everyone could've moved on. read more

I try and stay positive regarding all of the service that I have received over the years at Dolan Toyota Auto Service, but the service and the prices that they charge for service always seem to be somewhat lacking. Making appointments for services, oil changes etc is very simple and straight forward. When you arrive for service, your vehicle is pulled into a service bay and a service writer will come out, introduce themselves, and also ask you if you have an appointment for services. I do use Dolan for oil changes and some other Toyota-centric services for my Highlander and my wife's Camry, but their costs for wheel balances, alignments, and even wiper blade installation have always seemed somewhat high. I'm just giving a fair warning to folks who do decide to obtain those services through Dolan, but you will be shocked at the cost behind them. Since I also have a prepaid maintenance plan that was purchased when my Highlander was new, it has given the dealership confusion and they have tried backing out of honoring service requests and other things through the maintenance plan, but mine is active through 80K miles on my vehicle, so there is still some time to go before it expires. Please also realize that if you have prepaid maintenance packages for your Toyota, there may be a bit of a hiccup in getting the maintenance established with them. The work they do is satisfactory and the service is generally friendly. Sitting down can be difficult depending on how busy they are, but you can also utilize their vehicle shuttle to get a ride home and return later. Overall, there are a decent Toyota dealership, but I have received better service overall from both Carson City and Folsom Lake Toyota. read more

I've had great service at Dolan Toyota in the past, which is why this recent visit was disappointing. Samuel, who checked me in, was very helpful and communicative. He explained the process clearly and even introduced me to the advisor, which I appreciated. However, after that handoff, the experience changed significantly. The advisor did not introduce himself, and there was essentially no communication throughout the process--just "we'll call you when it's ready." At pickup, I was handed the report, told the total, and asked to sign, with no explanation whatsoever. Only after reading the report myself did I find notes about unsafe tire condition and fluids marked as "caution," which should have been clearly discussed with me. That lack of communication is concerning, especially when it involves vehicle safety. This dealership has shown it can provide excellent service, but this experience did not reflect that standard at all. I hope management addresses the inconsistency. I would still return, but I would prefer working with an advisor who communicates more thoroughly. read more

Atmosphere - Huge dealership. Open 6 days a week from 8:30am to 8pm, closed Sundays. Yelp hours differ slightly. See website for specific department hours. Plenty of customer parking. I scheduled an appointment at Dolan Toyota in Reno for a simple oil change (not a major service) and a recall inspection. Because my schedule can be unpredictable, I made sure to set it for a specific day that worked for me. On the morning of the appointment, I called to confirm -- only to find out that my appointment was somehow scheduled for the wrong date, two weeks later. The scheduler acknowledged the mistake but said they couldn't fit me in that day and the earliest they could reschedule was more than a week later. It's frustrating that a dealership can make an error like this and not make any effort to correct it or accommodate the customer. To make matters worse, their service department is closed on weekends. It really feels like Dolan took advantage of COVID to cut back hours and never returned to normal. For a dealership of their size, that's disappointing and inconvenient. It's hard to stay loyal to a place that doesn't stand behind its own scheduling mistakes or prioritize customer service. Our family has leased two Tacomas from this dealership, and we've only had them for about 4-5 months. Both trucks are already showing a parking brake malfunction warning that says to visit the dealer. When I called to get this diagnosed, there was absolutely no urgency. The soonest appointment they offered was December 8th -- and both of us rely heavily on our vehicles for work. We were told that if we bring the trucks in, we would be responsible for paying for a rental car on top of our monthly payments. One truck is $800 a month and the other is $1,000. They also mentioned they might need the vehicle for up to a week, which means we would have to pay around $550 for a rental while they handle an issue that is clearly on their end. They're great at getting customers into a vehicle, but not so great with support afterward. For a multi-billion-dollar company, you'd expect more compassion and accountability -- especially for what appears to be a recall-level issue. I initially searched on eBay and Amazon but didn't want to risk ordering the wrong ones. The serviceman who answered the phone helped me determine the correct clips by confirming my VIN number. While waiting I decided to check-out the new 4 Runners for possible purchase. I was told no one could show me the vehicles, they were too busy on a Monday afternoon to even unlock them for me. After 3 hours of sitting in crowded waiting area, my 'fluid check' was done I was charged for a new cabin filter despite it being on the prepaid maintenance schedule. Finally got out of there, checked under the hood a few days later and the brake fluid and wiper fluid reservoirs were below the low level allowed. Scheduling service at Reno's Dolan Toyota is horrible. EVERY Toyota dealer has an ON-LINE calendar to choose day/time and service. Dolan forced me into a "chat" with someone who, after 10-15 min all this guy did was take my email and tell me "someone" will contact me to schedule service. It's been several hours, and no one has called. Is Dolan so backwards that they cannot buy the software that other Toyota dealers use to schedule ON-LINE service? I'm thinking of driving down to Carson City, where that dealer isn't cheap, and schedules service the way it should be done. read more

Paperwork was signed and dated for April 8th 2026, and they attempted to reach out after the 15 day window to say financing has not been secured at the previous interest rate and payment that was agreed upon and signed. I am writing this to warn the Northern Nevada community about the predatory tactics at Dolan Toyota. I negotiated a clear Out-The-Door (OTD) price of $48,530 in writing via email (Deal #113651). What followed was a masterclass in deceptive trade practices. 1. The 'Shell Game': Once at the desk, Tyler Larsen (Sales Experience Manager) and Hector Bañuelos (Sales) presented a worksheet for over $59,000--attempting to pack $11,803 in undisclosed junk fees. 2. Credit under False Pretenses: They ran my credit for the $48k deal, then tried to use that pull to force me into a $59k loan. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), obtaining a credit report under false pretenses is illegal. You have the right to terms you actually agreed to. 3. Holding My Keys: When I refused the fake math, they held the keys to my trade-in to keep me from leaving. I had to demand my keys multiple times and finally walked out. 4. The Paper Trail: After leaving, I sent an email to the Dolan brothers and management laying out every version of the 'deals' they tried to slide past me. I informed them: 'I will immediately leave and proceed with the formal filings I have prepared for Nevada Consumer Affairs and DMV Compliance.' Only after seeing the documented evidence of their own 'shell game' did the GM, Casey Yocom, honor the original price. Over the past three years, been stopping by here a lot. Got my new car from them, and been coming here to get most of my necessary services done. All told, been feeling good about coming here, as the folks in the service department have pretty much on the ball every time. They get me in, get things taken care of, and get me out. Straightforward, dependable, and always very professional service here. Had a couple snags once in a while, and they get so many clients that it makes it hard to just drop in without an appointment. But I feel that is fairly small potatoes as far as critiques go for such a large place. Though I will say, in my last couple of visits, David in the Service Department has been absolutely outstanding in terms of his help, assistance, and flexibility in getting me the resources and information I needed. So major tip of the hat to him. And so, for the forseeable future, I as yet see no reason to jump ship to anyone else to work on my vehichle. read more

I thought long and hard before writing this review, but I'm just so disappointed overall in Dolan Toyota, Toyota USA and Falken Tire. I don't care what anyone says, spending upwards of 70K on a truck just to have factory tires wear unevenly and prematurely under 15,000 miles due to poor factory alignment and poor tire quality is unacceptable. I have approached every party mentioned and not one would take accountability. After doing some research, I found out this was a common issue with the new Tundras, and that some dealerships were doing right by their customers. Sadly, not in my case. Also, upon my last recent visit, I didn't get the oil change service I requested (WTF), but my truck was there all day, and maintenance reminder wasn't even reset. The service tech didn't even know I had purchased an extended care package. Unfortunately, this extended care package will require me to take my truck back to Dolan Toyota for service. They anticipated my needs and did a great job helping me. As a bonus, I found a dog water bowl, and pet friendly places are extra special. Came in for a scheduled oil change at 6:45am. I was the second car here and am still waiting an hour and a half later. I have never had an oil change take so long. Also they waited until they were an hour into the service to let me know the engine and cabin air filters need to be replaced which they said would take an extra half an hour. When someone listens to you and treats you like a real human being, competence is just a bonus. I'm describing Reggie in Dolan Toyota's service department. I'd been driving my Prius for 2000 miles across the country and was heading to Reno when the Maintenance Repair alert came on. I'd had my 40K service before this big road trip, so I suspected real trouble. From the road, I looked up the nearest Toyota place. The Dolan digital assistant on the phone said there was no walk-in availability, and it was after 5pm. Things looked dubious, but I took my chances. Walking up to Reggie at the service desk, I could see that he WANTED to help me, despite the lateness of the hour. He listened, assured me that he'd take care of me, got into my car, and solved the problem. When things go wrong on the road, you depend on the kindness of strangers. Reggie is not only kind, he knows what he's doing. It meant a lot to me, 2000 miles from home, to be taken care of with such professionalism and empathy. Thanks, Reggie. I had an absolutely horrible experience with Micaela from Dolan Toyota's service department. She told me my car would be ready on a certain day and that she would call me when it was ready for pickup. I waited all day for that call, but it never came. Finally, around 5 PM, I had to call myself because I needed my car to drive to work. At first, Micaela claimed her computer was broken and she didn't know if my car was ready. But the moment I mentioned needing a free rental if it wasn't, suddenly, she "remembered" that my car was actually ready. Then, when I asked for a shuttle to pick it up, she told me the service department was closing in 20 minutes, and the shuttle would take 20 minutes to get there--so even if I got there, I might not be able to pick up my car. Her tone throughout the conversation was rude and dismissive, making it clear she didn't value my time at all. To top it off, when the shuttle driver arrived at my place, instead of calling me like a normal, respectful person, he honked multiple times like a maniac being chased by a bear! Who does that?! Completely rude and unprofessional. And of course, Dolan Toyota is a complete scam. They tried to inflate a $400 repair into a $1000 bill by recommending every unnecessary service imaginable--brake flush, filters, and more. If you're not fluent in English or don't know much about cars, they will absolutely con you into overpaying for things you don't need. This dealership isn't just bad in service--it's shady all around. When I bought my car, the salesman tricked me into purchasing Toyota's extended warranty and the Prepaid maintenance plan, claiming it would cover almost everything. But when I actually needed repairs, Dolan Toyota conveniently blamed everything on external factors--mice, nature, normal wear and tear--never on the build quality of the car. The warranty never covered a single thing. I also see people mentioning that the extended warranty and the prepaid maintenance plan are a complete waste of money because they don't actually cover anything when you really need them. And here's the cherry on top--on my drive home from the dealership, the "maintenance required" light suddenly came on. Suspicious, right? After spending all that money, now my car magically needs more work? Funny enough, I've seen multiple reviews mentioning the same thing too--that their maintenance light came on right after getting serviced at Dolan Toyota. Hmm... if only I knew why. Wink wink. After reading multiple reviews, I noticed a common theme--Dolan Toyota doesn't care about people's time. I guess the Dolan family really doesn't give a shit about your time otherwise they would have fix it from the management level with everyone's feedback saying so. Avoid this place at all costs. Micaela and the rest of the team are unprofessional, dishonest, and will waste your time and money. This is a business that doesn't care about reputation, their priority is to pull money. read more

Unfortunately my experiences with Dolan have been less than enjoyable. A few years ago we bought one of our cars there and while the process was quick, we left feeling less than pleased with the experience due to the finance guy being pretty demeaning in the way he presented information making us feel like we had no idea how cars or money works, which was pretty odd and lackluster in the way of simple courtesy. Last month, I had to drop off a vehicle for repair and it was a nightmare. Not only did the communication lack in regard to the progress, the initial repair took two extra days and was done so poorly, it broke something else. They did take the blame for the poor repair job and covered the additional maintenance but that took another week and the communication was just as poor. The most comical part is that I was told there would be a link sent to me to talk about their service and I of course never saw a link to review since they likely knew it was going to be negative. For sure will be avoiding buying a vehicle from Dolan and will return to the local repair places that have done a better job for me in the past. The company does a ton of great things in the community but for sure some of the staff are letting them down right now. read more

We took our shop truck (22 Tundra) in for a sensor check. There was a broken sensor which was replaced and then it went from there...one thing after another. Dolan had it for 4 weeks! Every time we asked about a rental or loaner vehicle we were told "nothing available". There was poor communication throughout the process, I had to open a case with Toyota customer service to get them involved because we couldn't get any updates or action from Dolan. I had to personally call the warranty company to find out what the reason was for the holdup. We were told that it was in Dolan's hands and they sent us all the photos and paperwork to back that up. I went to dealership in person no less than 5 times to find out what was going on. When the truck was finally done after being there for 4 weeks it wasn't even washed, it was filthy! This was the most unprofessional experience, from any business, that I've ever experienced. We run a 50 million dollar a year business and we will never buy anything from Dolan again including personal vehicles and 3/4 of us here drive Toyotas. read more

We looked online at every dealership in the Reno-Sparks area and we first stopped here at Dolan Toyota and I'm so glad we did. I never once got a bad feeling like I was being conned into a vehicle. Upon walking in we met Mitch Conway and he was very helpful and knew as a first time buyer that I was going in with my eyes closed. The process went easy and the team of gentlemen we had working on everything for us was excellent! Mitch, Zac and Grant did everything to make us feel welcome and my expectations were blown out of the water with the friendly service from this team and I already recommended my co-worker to use this car dealership.
