They spent two hours on it, 4.2 ltr 6 cyl, it should have taken less than a hour. I filled it up afterwards to check how much my milage improved as it was about 2019 when I had my last tune up, I got 10.3 MPG, was getting about 14.5 around town before I took it to them. It took me some time to take it back because my part-time job was a on-call job. When I went in to tell them it was worse, they made me a appointment 3 weeks out. I declined saying I would take it somewhere else, it took until the first of this month (August) to have time to take it into Goldtech Auto in Reno. They pulled the pugs and wires, The plugs had about 40K on them, completely worn out with huge gaps and the wires were mismatched with two different brand names. They did not replace the plugs and threw on wires they had in the shop, I paid $95.40 for a new wire set and $49.20 for new plugs, plus $165.00 labor plus taxes. Not only did they totally rip me off for $327.75, it cost me time, more money to have it done by professionals and about $200 extra in gas. I know I won't get my money back, one of life's lessons I guess, never take your vehicle to a people who have no idea how to do a tune up.

I had also made an online appointment with a big-box tire shop, only to get a call back telling me that the appointment I made was actually a request. Hmmm... #1. I had asked for pricing for an alignment (which was on the high side) and a tire rotation, and the wording just felt a little slippery. So I told them I'd call them back to schedule. Sunshine sent me a reminder text, and I was curious if I'd actually get a response. Wouldn't you know it -- I did! I specifically asked about the cost and whether there were any other fees. Turns out, the alignment price was the alignment price (provided no additional work was needed), and that is exactly what I paid in the end. When I arrived Friday for my appointment, I received a greeting text. It freaked me out for a moment, but then I realized they had seen me and my car entering the shop and had done a pre-check-in. The guys at the counter couldn't have been nicer or more approachable. The work took about 90 minutes, and while I waited, several people walked in. The same friendliness I experienced was coming across with everyone. Is that a sign of trust? For this shop, I'd say yes. Before completing the transaction, I was given -- and sent by text -- a green/yellow/red list of recommended work. I asked if they could give me quotes on the items, and they sure did! Mr. Diaz also highlighted what he personally recommended prioritizing, and I really appreciated that approach. I didn't have to do everything on the list at once. We could knock the work out one by one. You don't know how much I appreciate this kind of approach. I know shops can take advantage of people -- especially ladies like me who are already on guard because we're expecting to get confused, fast-talked, or pressured into something we don't understand.
