This business is top notch!!! Honest, professional, reliable. The first time I brought my SUV in was for wiring for a brake controller. Not only did they do great work, they were friendly and squeezed me in on a Friday. So I came back for a weight distribution and sway control system on my trailer. I'm a woman who likes to do a lot of my own auto work but all this is way above me as I traded my motorhome for a trailer recently and am inexperienced with towing. When I called around for quotes for the WD and Sway control system, I couldn't understand why their quote was twice as much than another company. It just didn't make sense to me. Well I did some digging for Information on the Internet to try to understand. The system that Kro-Built would put in would do EVERYTHING I need to be SAFE on the road. Isn't it worth an extra couple hundred dollars to know that everything safety related is covered and professionally installed by people who CARE??? Went in for a small trailer repair. Was asked if i would like them to do a safety inspection, which i agreed to not realizing they would charge $250. It resulted in them giving me a bid for new brakes for almost $7k. Wound up having it done elsewhere for $1.5k. Hold onto your wallet dealing with these people. read more

Kro-Built was awesome to work with and let me keep the trailer there while waiting for insurance. They lifted my 5th wheel, replaced the axles and brakes and they did a fantastic job doing it. Both Dustin and the owner were awesome to deal with. They were within pennies of their original estimate. They even put 4 new steel rims on my rig for free. I ended up going back to the aluminum for the look, but I have 3 spares now so that's cool. I would go back there in a heart beat. We are extremely disappointed in the dealings with this business. Dustin told us that there was no way our short bed would be able to haul a 5th wheel without it crushing the cab of the truck (this is why they get 2 stars), for this we're grateful. He gave us an estimate with the Anderson hitch and B&W undermount. We asked for an estimate on the Anderson hitch with rail mounts, and he gave us one that came out to about $300 difference. After a bit of discussion, he said he didn't charge for the rails on this estimate. He gave us a new estimate. Then he went back to the Anderson/B&W estimate and said he didn't charge for the wiring or labor on either estimate. After 3 estimates there was a $100 difference (3 estimates were ridiculous because you should know your products as the manager!) After the installation, Kro-Built called for us to come pick up, so my husband went to get it. After $2,200 for installation and labor, there was an $18 charge for a blown trailer wiring fuse (mind you, this truck has NEVER hauled anything at this point!) Dustin stated that customers never complained when he took care of things. Yes, my husband told him he wasn't paying the $18 and to pull the fuse, so Dustin did. At least give the customer the option of saying yes or no. After calling the dealership, we found out that they sell it for $10, and it was $3.61 through Rock Auto. Don't we all just love how some businesses do a 75% markup??? We don't appreciate the unprofessional work ethic that this guy has shown. Even though we were told they guarantee and back their workmanship, we're not holding our breath, and I sure hope that Anderson and B&W take this complaint seriously since I've sent it to them as well. I paid for an inspection along with a bunch of other work. Spent over $1,500.00 on the last trailer that I sent in recently. They could not even tell me what percentage of brakes were still good, just that they were within some safety parameters of what they decide is good. Said that I was the only person that has asked that question in over 20 years. The last work that was done they did not even have a tech or mechanic guy to come out and show me what work was done and explain the new break away braking mechanism or anything else. I brought one of my trucks in to get an estimate on installing trailer hit and wiring. I agreed to the price and made an appointment. On the day of the appointment I received a call from Dustin and he told me he needed my truck for a couple days because he didn't have the right parts. Two days later when we picked the truck up I had an additional charge for over 90 dollars for a restocking fee. He went on to tell me that the truck he worked on was a different truck we brought in for an estimate. He then tells me never makes mistakes and he's not giving me a refund. I then produced a gps report proving it was the truck that he looked at. Told him i was disputing the charge and asked to speak to the owner and hung up the phone. He called me back and refunded the money. He went on to tell me don't come back to his shop. I asked to speak to the owner. He again refused to give me his email address. Complete ripoff, I thought I was going to get a professional job ! Brought my constriction trailer here for a complete wiring and breaks and revived the opposite. Half the lights worked and only had one wheel with breaks. Horrible workmanship and completely over priced. Had to go to a auto electric shop to get it fixed right ! I've done business with Kro-built for over 15 years and they have always been fair and have done great work. But my last experience was worse than bad, I brought a dump trailer in for a repair estimate, the estimate I received was more than I was willing to spend(no big deal). I drove down to pick it up to find the coupler which attaches over the ball on the hitch would not work (It was in perfect working order when I dropped off the trailer). I told them, and an employee came out and played with it to no avail. He went inside and returned with a hammer, I began to get a bad feeling....he pounded on the mechanism a few times with no success. He went back inside and returned with a small sledge hammer and began to bash on the same mechanism....I mentioned that if it does get on how does he suggest I get it off!!! Still not working, I asked for an employee I've worked with before but he was out of town. I said have him call me when he gets back, a few days later I received a call. Might as well have been from a stranger.....he told me I was sol and to come get the trailer before he charged me a storage fee!!!!! Thanks for the years of business I guess?!?!?? 6/14/17 On our way home to California from Washington, our 5th wheel lost a hub on one of our axles. We were on the side of the freeway for about 2 hours waiting for AAA to help us. They said they couldn't help us and we were on our own ! We took off the wheel, chained up the axle and drove 25 mph through Reno till we found Kro-Built. It was almost quitting time and they were booked solid till July. However, they sold us the needed parts (at a fraction of what we expected to pay), showed us where to park the rig and helped when we needed a special tool to complete the repairs. We know why Kro-Built is booked solid for repairs. They went above and beyond to help us when we were almost desperate. Their prices were beyond reasonable. Forget AAA for RV help. I have visited this place twice and if there were 6 stars I would give it to them. They set the example of a small family business. Kids of the owners work in the shop and you will not meet a more polite and accomodating group of people who really do know what they are doing. I had an older trailer that I wanted several modifications to and asked them to give me an estimate. They did and advised me to sell it and buy a new one as the job was big and costs exceeded by quite a bit the end value. I sold it and bought a custom trailer. I was having issues with the electric lift and brought it in for them to look at. The shop was very busy but Shane came out and did his best to fix it on the spot. He spent about a half hour and asked if I could leave the trailer. I agreed and then he asked how soon I needed it back. This was a Friday and the shop was busy. I said just get to it when you can, and that I had planned on using it that weekend but can wait. He called me back in an hour or two and told me the problem was my truck connection and just come on back and they would fix it. And they did just that. So I go in to pay the bill happily and am presented with a half hour labor. I knew this was not correct, they at over one hour in this and asked them to adjust the bill so that they were being paid appropriatly for the work they did. The guy behind the couner said nope, this is what the boss said to do. Best customer service in Reno and they know what they are doing!!! read more

I have used Kro-Built for years for both my utility trailer and boat trailer. However, they will not get my business again. I called a week in advance for an appointment and got a Tuesday morning drop off. I was told that I would get a call that day with the issues and an estimate. I never got the call that day. On Wednesday, I had to call about 1 o'clock only to be told that they were finishing up on a couple repairs and mine would be up next and I would get a call that afternoon. No call. No call Thursday either. I went Friday to get my trailer. There was no owner to complain to so I spoke with the manager. Again I am told that I would be the next one in the shop and sometimes they get repairs that take longer than anticipated. I understand that fully. However, that is what I was told Wednesday when I had to call them. They simply don't understand that a phone call and explanation would have done the job. They used to be great and now I will not give them any more of my money. Lousy customer service. read more

These guys are TOPS!! I had a tow vehicle for my motor home that was totally screwed up by a different shop. Oh man, what a mess!! Well, Kro-Built got it all straightened out and got us road-ready! They didn't just uninstall and reinstall, either. They contacted Invisibrake and made sure we were up to the latest and safe. After everything was set up, Dustin gave us a walk through and did a few minor finesse touches to our rig. I took my trailer to them a few months ago to get the wiring done and it wasn't done very well, no big deal took it back to them to fix there original work and the CHARGED me for it. Everyone I dealt with was super friendly which seems to be unfortunately rare these days, with so many businesses acting like they're too busy to help you. Anyway, dropped it off on a Tuesday and had it back the next day.
