I had posted on Reno Cars and Coffee looking for a place to turn my rotors on my son's 1970 Pontiac Grand Prix. They came recommended and when I arrived they were very nice and helpful. Unfortunately the rotors were under the minimum thickness so I purchased a new set at Summit. I always turn new rotors so I went back to Ayres to have them trued up. They did it gif the price quoted snd the finish looked just like it should. I'd highly recommend this shop and I will definitely use them again. Plain and simple, these guys are great! I was able to schedule easily and dropped it off in the morning. They gave me updates on the car and things they found that needed to be done. I was given options that were described in detail and I told them to perform this service after giving me the additional cost, which wasn't much extra. I initially brought the car in for an alignment and had to add a couple extra things that weren't done from a previous job by a different company. The service was solid, they gave me updates as they promised, and the pricing was much better than expected. I recommend these guys completely. My 1963 Chevy Belair needed a front in alignment. Tech Mike found other issues with the front steering and resolved them all. This was all done in a very timely manner with no problems following the service. Also I had the brakes bled on the Belair. The car now steers and stops straight as it should! I'm always apprehensive when getting work done on my car due to past experiences with dishonest shops. My usual dealership shop was scheduling over a month out and I needed my car looked at sooner to ensure safe operation. Ayres were referred to me by another highly rated shop that didn't do suspension work. I called on a Thurs or Fri and they were able to get me in on Monday morning. Drop off went smoothly and they were patient with my ability to describe my car issues to help diagnose. I had to stay for a little while in their small tidy lobby to wait for my ride and observed them treat each customer that came in during that time with the same respect and courtesy. I mention this because I've observed other shops treat people different depending on their age, race, gender etc, so it was really nice to see a place where they are consistent and professional. They called me shortly after drop off to let me know what they found and give me an estimate and get my authorization to do the work. I missed the call and they left a message. I returned the call almost an hour later. They explained the issue and the parts they needed to work on along with an estimate. I wanted to know when it would be completed and they did advise that they had begun work on another client's after they waited for me to call back and so they would begin my car after which was understandable, however they assured it would be ready in the same day. My car was ready within 3 hours and I received a message when it was ready for pickup. I would be at work until close to their closing time, I relayed that concern and they reassured me that I would be ok. Luckily I was able to leave a little early and get there a few minutes before closing but appreciated the kind demeanor on the phone when I was worried. From beginning to end every person I interacted with was nothing but professional and kind with clear and constant communication throughout. I researched the anticipated cost for my repairs and I did not receive any sticker shock at the final cost, it felt very fair and competitive. I took my Mustang in after lowering it 2in to get it aligned. I was nervous at first because it is really hard for me to trust people with my vehicle after all of the money I have invested into it. If I can, I try to do all the work at home in my garage but this is one thing I couldn't do. All of the gentlemen in the front were happy to listen and answer questions. Best place for alignment, steering and suspension needs. Especially for classic cars. My chevelle is driving better than ever. What a difference. QA1 front upper control arms, all new steering components, alignment, air shocks adjusted out back. This thing hugged the corners with acceleration like a new car on the way home. Steering was super responsive and tight. On straight aways I could let the wheel go and it was on a rail. Entire ride was smoother too. Ayers Brake and Alignment crushed it. How have I not reviewed Ayres yet?! I've been bringing my vehicles here for oil changes, tires, and alignments for years. Rob and Chris are standup guys who go above and beyond to do the right thing for their customers. Just last week I waited until wayyyyy to long to get my brakes done. At first they looked pretty booked out but at the last minute had a cancellation and squeezed me in. Had I waited and they not accommodated me I would likely have been replacing rotors too after the 4th of July weekend. Their tires are a great deal here as well and just as competitive as the big tire guys. They do free rotation and flat repair too. I could not recommend them any more. read more

Had these guys do some custom exhaust work that I thought up for my Mercedes AMG. They did a great job for a super fair price and even corrected some mistakes that a different shop made. I'd have no problem trusting them with my luxury car again (in fact, I have more custom exhaust work scheduled) or any other fancy custom. I also saw some of the work they did on an old beat up Chevy truck and it was nice to see that the quality of the work they did on that truck was the same as the quality on my Mercedes. To me that means they take there work seriously, and will do a good job no matter what kind of vehicle you're in. 1000 dollar truck or 100,000 dollar car. read more

Long story short, Chris hooked me up with a great deal on tires & service. I dropped off my car next day in morning & less than 3 hours later I picked up my car. I brought the truck to Ayers for a front end alignment. After leaving the alignment shop as soon as I got out on Pyramid Highway at the juncture where the speeds increase, I noticed that there was a wobble starting when the truck approached about 55 mph. Since I had washed the truck after picking it up from Ayers, I initially thought that dirt, mud or possibly debris may have washed into the rims and caused it to get off balance. I checked the rims for mud or debris; there was none. I then hand and visually checked all the suspension components and saw nothing wrong to my eye. By that Monday August 27th, 2018, I saw some minor feathering in the front tires so I thought maybe I had lost a wheel weight and decided I would get that checked at Discount Tires, as they did the tire installation. I planned to do that Tuesday or Wednesday. By Wednesday morning, August 29th,2018 I noticed the steering wheel was slightly to the left. By that evening the tires were so bad that the truck was grabbing at every bump in the road. I returned to the shop when they opened Thursday morning, now August 30th, and reported what was happening with the truck. Before even inspecting the vehicle an employee proceed to tell me how it was probably my fault for not rotating my tires enough. After quite a bit of going back and forth they agreed to get me in on Friday morning. I returned at 7:30 A.M. Friday morning. They took the truck into the shop and closed the bay doors, so I had no visual. After inspecting the vehicle Chris, the shop manager reported that the adjustment ends of the tie rods were butt to butt hence putting the angle 6 degrees out of alignment. Chris then said that maybe the adjustment sleeve had been flared out from a wreck but there was no evidence of a wreck. Chris said, he had no idea of what could have happened, we both talk about many possibilities of how or why this could have happened. We agreed that he would have the shop mark the sleeve with paint so as to see if there was any visible sign of movement and that I would drive it for a few hundred miles, I suggested 500 miles. We agreed that I would check the paint marks about every 100 miles or so. After the 500 miles it became evident that the second alignment the shop performed was done properly as all movement ceased, also there was no wobble. I proceeded to talk with Chris about what could have gone wrong, and he had no explanation. I asked Chris about the shop taking responsibility for the first alignment destroying my new tires. He said he needed to talk with the owner, but that he thought I would get my tires replaced. He said that the owner, Robert, was out of town and that he would have him call me he got back in town. Shortly thereafter, Robert called me and proceeded to tell me that he believed it was still some mystery, ie unspecified, issue with my truck and not the workmanship of his team members that had led to the alignment problems. After a lengthy discussion he changed course with his explanation and said, "I think somebody is messing with you." He further went on to detail that someone was messing with the tie rods at my home. I was somewhat taken back by this line of reasoning. I informed him I live on 84 acres in the middle of nowhere, to which he responded then it must have happened at work.  Again, taken aback, I responded I work for a global technology company and their parking lot is secure. At this juncture, I said to him, so you are not taking any responsibility for the damage to my tires? To which he said, no, call my lawyer. I am out the price of the alignment and over 600 dollars for two tires. Yelp we need negetive stars... read more

Basically we gave these people a charity rip off donation. They worked on alignment on my Van. They gave us some big story that they don't make parts for my 2017 vehicle? So they did some adjustment to my back alignment that was not correct. I took it to Nissan in Carson city who were really knowledgeable. They had to fix what the other people did and re-align it the right way. It was a bad shock on left hand side that was the real reason for tires wearing out on back of Vehicle. Ya know if you don't know how to fix something just don't do it! Be honest. read more

I went here for an alignment based off several recommendations and good yelp reviews, but I must admit I was disappointed. I got it back and yes, it was driving straight, however, they said I had a bent steering knuckle and that caused it to be unable to get a perfect alignment. They also didn't tell me that to "fix" the issue they made it so my steering wheel could only turn 2 turns one way and 4 turns the other way just that they had to max out certain things and left it at that. Taking it to a different shop, I discovered there were other problems affecting alignment and they were addressed, but my steering knuckle was not an issue at all. Drives perfectly now with no parts replacement. Seems there may have been some odd work done by previous owners (haven't had the car that long). They were willing to put the extra effort into finding the real underlying issue and fix it. I will concede that this was a rather difficult and atypical alignment to fix. However, Ayers did not seem willing to look further into what the issue was and were eager to bandaid it and let me go. Rather unfortunate. read more

I have not been in as of yet. But am excited to see what they can do for my 2015 Camaro SS 1LE. I need an alignment and trying to find a place that actually knows what they are doing is hard to find. Everyone I know and even people that I am not close with have recommended this shop. Everyone speaks very highly of this shop and the group of techs there.
