Although I like Piccadilly, I have mixed feelings about this location. We came here for lunch after church service. This location is easy to find as it is down the street from Graceland, with ample space for parking. Upon entry, the restaurant is a little dated but clean. You can dine in, take it to go, order online, and via Grubhub (for this location). The food is served cafeteria style with plenty of options, even if you are vegetarian. You grab a tray, select your entree and sides, (dessert if you like) and pay either cash or card before you take a seat in the dining area. Please note that gratuity is not included with the check, and will need to be done on your own. I must say, the customer service is excellent. However, when I got to the table, my food was tasty but lukewarm. I don't know if this is for a particular reason, but for having it on a steam table under the lights, I didn't understand why most of the meal was barely warm. The best Thanksgiving meal and fellowship. Came here with my family for Thanksgiving only to find out that several churches paid for everyone's meal. The various churches, young people volunteers and the Pastors of these churches were there to help and wait on the customers. It was truly a Thanksgiving of service. I'm so appreciative of them for this. Light music played in the background which was enough to make it festive and a warm welcome feeling. I am so grateful to all who put this on and to Piccadilly's for opening their doors to us who don't have family in the area to still have a good thanksgiving meal. Went to the Express Area and the employees were fine, however there was water coming under the steam table and soaked a portion of the mats. Normally the food at this location is okay but today they lost my business for good. The main reason I go there is the Carrot Souffle and they blew it. I thought just a corner was a bit burnt but they apparently placed burnt Souffle on top and the burnt taste permeated the entire serving. Couldn't enjoy the rest of my meal due to this. I purchased 2 dinners with Souffle on both so we were very disappointed. I will not return to this location the Olive Branch, Ms location is much better. I know now why so many cars are there with Tennessee tags. Tried to call and address this in house but no one answered the phone. Nobody wants to pay for burnt food. read more

This is a buffet style restaurant that extremely lacks in customer service if you were to need any kind of assistance. I've eaten here before, the food is ok, but the fact that whenever i'm here for a pickup order the Piccadilly Employees as well as the General Manager act like they don't see me. Just walk by for at least 5-7 minutes of waiting just to get acknowledged. I've tried asking for help, sometimes they keep walking as if i'm not speaking loud enough, other times they say Okay then return 10-15 mins later with the food. They rather gather in a group & talk instead of helping a customer when usually i can see the order is already ready. i guess they just don't f e e l like handing it to me. My friends and I have gone to this Piccadilly on most Sundays after church for a few years but no more. The past few Sundays, the food has been cold or luke warm and the temperature of the restaurant is so cold that it is unbearable. While the prospect of homemade food and a big assortment of food to choose from is always attractive, it was simply not good. I went to Picadilly with a group of 7 for lunch after a church visit. The older people in the group said that it used to be very good, but I don't think that's the case anymore. The entrees were very greasy, the salad options are heavily limited, and the desserts are sketchy. Once we sat at the table, some of the food was already getting cold. I don't think anybody finished all of their food. Some sides look appetizing, but were not. The puddings were not edible. The cake was old. This was the definition of bad cafeteria food, and for this price is just not worth it. read more

I can always count on Piccadilly for a good home cooked meal at an amazingly low price (if you order the daily or lunch special for the day). There is this one waitress though named Mrs Elfreida who works at this location in Elvis Presley Blvd who is AMAZING! She is so kind, helpful, attentive to her customers and her little feet move so quickly and quietly through the place you don't even hear her coming. I have a general rule about not eating in cafeterias. This is a result of all those years in school and a general aversion to "that smell" that all cafeterias seem to have. To me that smell makes me think of dirty mop water, but it may really be just too many food smells comingled together. But I figure that if the last two Memphis mayors eat there on a semi-regular basis, then it can't be all that bad. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was no smell! So right out of the gates they exceeded my expectations. Then the young lady behind the counter sized me up and recommended fried chicken - why she thought I needed fried chicken I'll never know but I trusted her judgment and accepted her proposal. I also picked up some black-eyed peas, a side Caesar salad, chocolate pudding and blackberry cobbler. This (to me) is the problem with a cafeteria - too many options that are too available to just reach out and put on your tray. Plus at this location the line is long and straight, so you can't double back to get something (or put it back). Lastly, I never saw any prices that said something like "meat + 2 for $8.99" or whatever the pricing combinations are. As a consequence, my meal with salad, vegetable, two deserts and a tea was a whopping $16. I am sure the extra deserts had a lot to do with it, because my coworker bought his for less than $10 though with no desert, salad and tea (water to drink). Aside from the cost, the fried chicken really was good. As were the peas and chocolate pudding/mousse. The cobbler was good but way too heavy in large part because the filling was from a can - or so it seemed to me. The salad was mediocre - not bad, but as one might expect it wasn't remarkable either. I will probably return again when I want country cooking, but next time I'll be a little wiser and not try everything that looks appealing. read more

I never thought I would be writing a review about a buffet/cafeteria but I paid ten dollars for an absolutely delicious dinner yesterday. I had the herb crusted chicken, It was lightly battered, absolutely tender and juicy. It didn't taste processed or anything like you would expect. It was served with penne with a cream sauce. Also it didn't taste processed like you would get at most franchises. I had a very bright green crisp salad served w/ sweet red onions, pecans and fresh (key word here) strawberries with a poppy seed dressing which was quite good. I'm a sucker for southern green beans even though I know they cook any type of nutritional goodness right out of them. still I like them and these did not disappoint. I left a dollar tip. I thought later that maybe I could have left more but I really need anything from my server except the check. If you have refills, or need extras by all means tip more though! I feel like I would have paid a lot more in most places for what I got yesterday only I would have had to wait longer and leave a large tip. This is probably the WORST Picadilly that I've ever visited. I went for the breakfast buffet and was mortified! There were dirty plates that had stuck on food, and to make matters worse, when I told the manager (name starts with an "O" I think) he stated that I should get one that's clean as he started to angrily snatch up the bowls that were also dirty. Picadilly has always been a memphis favorite. I enjoy eating there with my mom and wife. I'm 25 and practically grew up on Picadilly food when my mom did not feel like cooking. This location just like Poplar location has great food, customer service, and plenty of options to choose from. There are a lot of southern dishes too for us southerners but they also have other dishes that I had never had like the stuffed baked fish with gravy/dressing. It's so good. They always have the basics ( my favorite, chopped steak) but they always are adding new things especially when the holiday approaches and that's what I like. I've eaten at Piccadilly often and the food has always been very good...that's why I decided to buy our Thanksgiving dinner(take out) from them...BIG mistake!The turkey was undercooked,took an additional 1 1/2 hrs. to cook it done.The dressing was Stovetop,not the good dressing served there...the green beans were canned and tasted like they were poured directly from the can to the serving container,no butter(or grease)and no salt...same with the "candied"sweet potatoes:there was no candied to them-straight out of the can into the container:no butter,no brown sugar..nothing.The rolls and the mac and cheese were good.The tea was very weak and much too sweet.If I had known I'd have to cook everything I would have just bought a turkey and fixings myself..would have been better and MUCH cheaper.I had planned on ordering Christmas dinner(ham),also,but not now.This was the first,and last time I order a precooked dinner from Piccadilly.Very disappointed! read more

It's a fact, that not all food establishments are created equally (lol)...I actually will travel a distance when my taste buds call for delicious food. I have always favored this Picadilly over the rest. You can certainly tell when they've hired a slew of good cooks. Management, as I know it has always been "tops" and aiming to reward great customer satisfaction. The waitress are friendly and helpful. However, you can tell they know many who frequent the restaurant by the extra amenities they give on down to their glowing "southern" smiles. The food 90% of the time is to give an "arm and leg" for...lol. I love the carrot souffle and red velvet cake for dessert to top off those tasty mouth watering meals. Lately, I've preferred visiting their "Take Out" store which is adjacent to the restaurant located toward the back. Also, they've extended the parking area for their "take out" customers. The manager was standing near the servers to make sure the "take out" customers were having a great and satisfactory experience making food selection. I thought that was a big plus. I intend to go back, because sometimes I love taking my food home to eat in a more private setting with the family and a good movie or other. read more
