I remember eating here as a kid. Not particular to this location and more so on Mt. Moriah. Dad always had a liking for this place. I have fond memories of the whole experience. Picking out the desserts at the end was the pinnacle of success for me. I could get jello with whipped cream, and nuts , and more whipped cream, and no one could tell me nothing!! NOTHING! My dad used to love to go to the one in Germantown when he got older. I'd meet him there for lunch with a few of his friends. I miss that a whole lot. Fast forward 10 years and here we are for lunch. I had a meeting out here and needed to grab lunch for me and my homie. Walked in and service was great! Folks were friendly, took great care of us. Food was good. I loved mine. Livers had great taste and texture. Crunchy even though being soaked in gravy and onions. Yum. Tons of flavor!! Pinto beans were fire! That is an unusual thing to say really, but they are. Mashed potatoes are decent. I had jalapeño cornbread and I liked it. My bitchy partner had chicken tenders and ate one while bitching about having to buy three instead of two even though I paid for lunch. Oh well. You can't win all the time. He did take two home. Place is run down y'all. Like for real. Ceiling tiles to concrete is old and needs to be replaced. It's like time stopped inside but wear and tear did not. Whenever I visit my uncle who lives in Frayser he always recommends we eat at this restaurant. It has a great variety of well-cooked soul food. Some of my favorite dishes are the fried fish and okra. They also have a great selection of desserts. The deli plate is usually what we get because you get a meat and two vegetables and your bread and a drink. They have a large variety of food to choose from, no matter what your taste bud is it will be satisfied by this great restaurant. It has also been in business for decades now. read more

I used to come here all the time as a child. While I am sure there are things that can be updated (the cushions in some of the booths are questionable), to me there is nothing but incredible value in everything they serve. This won't be the best food you eat, but darn is it a pretty amazing selection for an affordable price. The catfish with cornmeal batter? Yum. The chopped steak is not even too salty - so good and savory. The fried okra and rice broccoli cheese casserole are my favorite sides. Personally, I'd skip the salads and cold apps. It's been the late 80's since I've been to a Puccidilly. But now I remember why I haven't been since then. Just got back from having an early lunch with my daughter. Yuck yuck yuck -- just took a trip back to the '80's at Piccadilly in Raleigh on Stage Rd (across from Burlington) the food was tasteless and just a Nasty experience. My coffee smelled like perfume and couldn't even take a sip! Mac n'cheese watery and no flavor. Small salad had whole tomato wedges that lacked the taste of anything edible and which left no room for lettuce, handmade dressing made from ketchup and mayo, overly sugared potato salad, slightly bacon flavored green beans...and dry roast beef hoping the puddle of juice would make it edible. Never knew one had to "request" a knife so I toiled away with a dull butter to cut the roast with... Needless to say I walked away hungry. My daughter stated her ribeye was cold and her salad was watery. She liked the tea. Had to change booths as the initial bench cushion was so worn it sunk as I sat at the table, ending up on boards.... The place was dark and dingy and quiet as a church in prayer. The cooks serving the food was friendly enough but did not take care not to fill the bowls up with useless broths that spilled onto the tray, and seemed impatient with the elderly hard of hearing. Although I did pay to leave the building, I cannot recommend spending $30 for the food me and my daughter just experienced. Piccadilly has become a Great Disappointment. It's been a part of Memphis, TN for over 50 years. They now had sold out the Quality of the Food , for Profit. The Cat Fish is actually Sway Fish, Not the traditional Cat Fish we were accustomed to getting. The new Mexican Cornbread is horrible. The vegetables made me Gases. I'm so disappointed in this Restaurant. They need to close down with the other COVID-19 affected businesses. read more

On 10/22/2016 for breakfast; my wife and I visited Piccadilly located at 4996 Stage RD Memphis TN. When we arrived there was no one at the cash register; we waited so long that the cook cooking the hot cakes told us to go ahead and get our plates. We went ahead, there was no eggs and the bacon on the buffet was more white than brown maybe old.. I decided to go pay again; needless to say I had to wait, I felt better this time because I wasn't the only one waiting. After paying I ordered three eggs, toast for two and my wife ordered a waffle; had # 19 on our table. Wife had to go get the toast and waffle; I had to go get my eggs. By then they had brought out bacon that look like bacon. Our whole visit people were complaining about no coffee cups. During our meal we never had a waiter, our plates piled up; I had to get another set of silverware just to get a clean napkin. My wives ask why I wasn't leaving a tip, I told her a tip was for service received from your server; we had neither. When you pay you pay for a meal and service; I feel like I wasted my money. read more

Some people think this place is for the elderly but if you ever need a quick way to enjoy some vegetables this is the place to go! You can get a plate for like $5!!! If you're looking for the fastest service that anticipates your every need, this might not be the place for you. I come to Piccadilly when I want to choose vegetables to satisfy a craving. Today, I need corn. While I was here, I also had broccoli, Lima beans and cabbage. All comfort food. Takes me back to the good ole days when we raised a garden and veggies made up the biggest portion of your plate. For the good veggies and nostalgia and for the lack of great service, Piccadilly gets a solid 3 stars. I don't come often but it's nice knowing it's there when a veggie craving hits. read more

This restaurant is a good family restaurant. However it differs from the other Piccadilly restaurants in the area. The portion sizes vary, and the manager of this particular restaurant does not seem to care about certain standards. they get a good rating for the taste and quality of the food, how are they getting bad rating for management personnel. The store is slightly older, dark and not as clean as you may think. They have some work to do. read more

Kids eat for .99 cents after four!

The food was delicious...my dad and I had chopped steak; dad had broccoli and rice casserole and mashed potatoes, and I had carrot souffle and cabbage! My mom had the turkey and dressing, carrot souffle and greens. We all loved it all. I love the Mexican cornbread, and I always get their red velvet cake for dessert as it is to die for!! The servers and our waiter were very hospitable. The manager, Greg, asked if we were taken care of. I love that they offer military discount year round, one of few restaurant chains that do that on a regular. Thank you Piccadilly, and I'll be back again soon. read more

I've eaten at Piccadilly for so long...even way back when it was named Morrisons! My dad is a frequent flyer had has eaten here at least 1 time a week for the past 20 years. The food is down home And yummy. I've had a few bad experience with the food but overall it is good. Staff has always been polite and helpful. Some have worked there for 15+ years. Feels sentimental for me to take my kids....almost like a tradition. read more

I love this place for nostalgic reasons, but the food really is good. Chopped beef, roast beef, fried chicken are good, but the vegetables are great-love the corn and the carrot soufflé is superb. The carrot raisin salad is also worth getting. Prices have gone up but this is still a great cafeteria style place offering home cooked food away from home. read more

@ Stage Road, Memphis, TN: Went for buffet breakfast 4/4/15: was ignored by the young black server for an older black lady behind me. The older white lady working with him was so busy chewing gum, she had no idea. As it happened a middle age white man claimed he was the manager when ask, as it turns out the older black man who came from the back was. Both thought it better to clear tables together than address any concern I had... I have over 15 years food service experience. This place isn't worth your time or money in my opinion!!!! For this visit only do I write this, but tonite I wanted something beyond the diet I usually keep (fast food bachelor style) & I usually go to the Exeter location, this time I was closer to the Covington Pike area, so stopped and picked up dinner to go home and enjoy. Much to my chagrin this was not the case. Ordered the breaded grilled pork chop (needed a chain saw to cut it with) Okra/Tomato concoction, Rice casserole, Boiled cabbage, & topped it off with Black-eyed peas. Asked for it to be put in cups vs. the styrofoam plate so it might stay warmer for consumption in 30 minutes it takes me to drive home from there. (Piccadilly take heed to this suggestion, Houston Levee/64 area needs you, there IS NO COMPETITION) On my way home a usual Memphis Jerk driver liked my lane more than his and slamming on the brakes to be able to get home to my much needed dinner, was sorta necessary. Of course the bag started to flip over and I caught it in time, but I afterwards starting to get a renewed aroma from the food. After getting home and picking up my dinner in a bag, I saw why. One hole in bag, one crushed lid unusually cracked open in the weirdest way (like something had shot a Howister size hole completely through the top, had spilled cabbage juice everywhere. Literally took me an hour to clean it up (knew that smell the first hot day that rolled into Memphis would make it unbearable to stand) before I could partake of my dinner. Now it would be fine if my microwave wasn't on the blink, but my cigarette lighter just wasn't gonna do it for me, so the bachelor in me attacked dinner with no avail. After eating my vegetables and the cabbage was good and dry because my seat, floorboard and rugs liked it more than I, it was still ok. But that pork chop that's in my garbage with two teeth marks in it left a lot to be desired, and all this misery cost me was $13.09, my gas, my drive time, and cleanup, all in all NOT a good EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!! But I reiterate that primarily I go to Exeter location, so far out of all the years going there NEVER had a complaint, EXCEPT that time when a relative across the street at the Baptist Rehab center wanted dinner and they didn't put in any eating utensils, wowwee. After going to their website to do this there, they don't have a "CONTACT US" choice, hmmm very unusual, so I opted to do a review. Also I tried to call but no answer.
