Highlight of the visit was our waitress who was good. Pasta was highly undercooked, there was an odd sweetness with the veggies on the risotto, and I was not a huge fan of the seasoning on the shwarma. The hummus with the shwarma was good, though it was a little overly sweet too. It pains me to give a vegan restaurant anything less than a perfect rating, but sadly the food here wasn't great. I thought the sauce on the mac and cheese was fine and the risotto had a good texture. The floor was very sticky. read more

Probably one of the best meals I've ever had! This review is a little delayed but I ordered the Country Chicken, my dining partner orders a pasta dish with sausage, and we split egg rolls (pepperoni pizza and cheeseburger), coffee milk, and strawberry shortcake. The fried chicken is so good, I could eat it every day; maybe my favorite vegan fried chicken I've ever had. The garlic mashed potatoes are also so tasty, as was the gravy, and the cornbread is moist and delicious. Butter on the cornbread was great. My non-vegan dining partner raved about the eggrolls (I also thought they were great, but a bit meaty for me). So sad I didn't find this place sooner because I can't wait to come back! Support this great vegan restaurant! Pros: Servers are sweet and attentive. Egg rolls are GREAT. Quesadillas are great, especially paired with the bright veggies. Really thoughtful menu. Decor is very cute! Opportunities: Country Chicken dish was one note. Mashed potatoes were way under salted. The lighting is way too bright, takes away from how beautifully it's decorated. Also, the table we were at was wobbly and we had to hold it down with our foot to keep it steady. Great food with flavor. I was worried that the house made cheeses wouldn't live up to the hype but it was all amazing!

I can't rave enough about the excellent customer service experience that my guest and I encountered. The Host was also our waiter, and even though they were extremely busy hosting, waiting, and bartending they delivered professional service with a smile. I got the steak egg rolls, mac and cheese, and the birria quesadilla. The egg rolls were my favorite and I do not recommend the Mac and cheese. The birria quesadilla was also good but not birria style as the namesake implies. The birria quesadilla was a regular vegan mushroom quesadilla served with salsa and not birria style. Enjoyed every bite of my Italian Grinder!!! I haven't eaten meat in almost 7 years, and getting to have an Italian sub this good is drawing me right back to Pianta. The staff was so friendly, I can't wait to go back and hang with the bartender and the cook. I would love to see orange wine on the menu! Ordered the following to go: - Lavender lemonade $6 - Refreshing, but a really small cup and didn't taste any lavender. Mostly tasted lemonade and a little bit of sweetness. - Wild Mushroom Risotto (GF, SF) $21 - Delicious! They definitely gave a lot of mushrooms! Well seasoned. - Crispy Brussel Sprouts (GF, SF) $9 - The maple siracha glaze was so delicious! It tastes like the honey walnut shrimp glaze from the Chinese restaurants. Thought this was a creative combination and think it would be great to try to make at home! Haha - Shawarma Plate (GFO) $28 - you could have fooled me into thinking this is real chicken! Well seasoned chicken and the loved the beetroot & lemon hummus. The cucumber tomato salad was also delicious. Think it was with an Italian vinaigrette? From a non vegetarian/vegan perspective, this place was amazing! Loved the food! The server was nice and let us know that it was going to be 40 minute wait for the food. We go to Pianta quite often. The food is over the top fantastic! One of the things we love about it is that Michelle, thw owner changes the menu at least 4 x a year and runs different themed dinners thrioughout the year, So when we go, we don't have to look at the same menu every time. Providence is a city with some surprisingly good vegan restaurants, and just when I thought I'd had the best, I went to PiANTA. This place blew my mind. I had the Italian grinder, and I never expected a sandwich to change my life. Seriously, this was the best sandwich I've ever had. I even asked the server where they got the faux meats for it - and the kitchen wouldn't tell her! I like to think they were preserving their secrets. Since I have been back home, I have been on a mission to try to recreate a sandwich that good. I wanted to try more items there, but I ran out of time. I would definitely return any time I am in Providence. Also, beyond the food, the service and ambiance were spot on. Everything about this restaurant was 5 star. read more

This place had great ratings on all services, and I would hate to ruin that. My problem was that the food did not nearly live up to my expectations. The sauces on both penne dishes were great, however the penne pasta was very undercooked leaving it dry and giving it a texture that was hard to enjoy. I regret having ordered the risotto dish as it was weirdly sweet and I couldn't eat more than two bites. The waitress was very nice and the food came out quick, that I cannot critique. This is a lovely little spot on Atwells Avenue. I appreciate that their menu is labeled clearly with gluten-free, nut free and soy free options. I ordered an artichoke gnocchi and it was disappointed because the sauce was very vinegary- more like a salad dressing than a sauce. This is definitely a date night spot. I appreciate the vegan/ plant based decor. Portions are very large! My table tried three different types of their pasta; all of them were sadly quite bland. On a Friday night, I felt that this place was pretty slow. I also felt as though the portion sizes were making up for the lack of seasoning. However, the smashed potatoes starter was very well-seasoned and yummy! The servers here are also quite kind. I hope that my feedback and other's is taken into account, as I would hate to see another all-vegan restaurant close its doors. read more

This was the best dinner I've had since going vegan five years ago. We started with the Elote and it was fantastic. I had the country chicken plate and it's a customer favorite for a reason!! The mashed potatoes themselves made the dinner worth the price. My partner had the seafood platter (part of the 2023 vegan chef challenge) and really enjoyed it. The food was delicious! We tried the Brussels Sprouts, Mexican street corn flatbread, penne alla vodka, and country chicken. Each bite was better than the last. The cornbread and butter that it came with were out of this world! We can't wait to try the garlic bread next time. We also got espresso martinis that were the best we've ever had. Our server helped us decide between a few dishes and definitely didn't lead us astray, she was fantastic. The location is perfect, right on federal hill. We stumbled across this place tonight without realizing it was entirely Vegan. We're not Vegan ourselves, but our daughter is, so we eat a lot of Vegan cuisine. I ordered a zucchini "steak" dish that sounded unique, and my hubby got the country "chicken." Both were extraordinary - the best meal either of us has had since we moved to RI (and we've had some great meals). The food was honestly bursting with flavor, and the quantity was just right. The service was perfect, too, attentive without being intrusive. We debated getting dessert, since the dinner flavor left such a satisfying taste behind, but we couldn't resist the gluten-free chocolate brownie. It came with raspberries on top and a trickle of raspberry sauce, in a combination that was again perfect - crispy edges, a gooey center, sweet and rich but not too much so, with the raspberry flavor offsetting the chocolate in a way I've never tasted in my entire not-particularly-young life. It was so, so good, and to my surprise, it blended well with the dinner flavors. I've been sitting here all evening enjoying the last remnants of the taste, reluctant to go brush my teeth, and I thought I should take a moment to leave a review on the various sites. I visit Rhode Island in 2022 to see Rammstein at Foxboro stadiums In Massachusetts. While visiting family I went to a spot my sister said to try. (And visit her). As a meat eater this is not my scene. Till that day. I was blown away at the flavor of My meal, I had the cheese steak egg rolls. I wish I saw the Italian grinder on their menu that day photos look amazing. Will I visit again you bet you bottom dollar I will. If your a meat eater like me you won't be disappointed in the flavor. It's been a long time since I've paid so much for such a mediocre meal. I had high hopes for this restaurant but was sadly disappointed. We started with steak and cheese egg rolls and corn fritters. The egg rolls were meaty - I couldn't detect the cheese - and had a slightly spicy mayonnaise sauce. They weren't particularly flavorful. The fritters were nicely fried but had very little corn in them. I liked the sweet and spicy sauce. For my daughter's main she had chicken piccatta and parmesan roasted asparagus. The pasta was drenched in oil. I couldn't really taste the white wine and capers. While we like vegan chicken generally, the breading on this example was greasy and unspiced. The asparagus was woody and should not have been served. My dish was veggies and spaghetti in buerre blanc. It was unpleasantly oversauced, too. The taste was good when I got bites with mushrooms or cherry tomatoes, but I had to fish them out of the soup on my plate. My husband had the chicken and mashed potatoes plate. He was satisfied but unimpressed. Service was attentive and friendly. Overall, Providence has better vegan options. read more

So I am from the Jersey area with access to great vegan in Philadelphia. Perhaps I am too accustomed to that as well as great vegan in NYC. To pay $27.60 for a dish, my expectations are going to be high! This was nowhere near worthy of the price. Not to mention the slaw was missing from my crab cake platter. The crab cakes were marketed as their best seller. I cannot imagine how that's possible. They had too much breading or potato filler and had absolutely no crab flavor. Perhaps my fondness for MD crab cakes having been born there and my experience of having tasty vegan crab cakes including those I have made myself, I know it's possible. I would never try these again nor recommend them. My husband was more satisfied with his country fried chicken platter although I thought the cornbread was overly sweet. Definitely not worthy of the $55 cost not to mention the additional fees to have delivered. Smh. read more

Every time there's a new vegan place in Providence you can always find me first in line to try it! PiANTA is located in the new "cloud kitchen" complex at 65 Bath St. so it's takeout only, at least for now! You can either order through a delivery service or directly from their website. I was super excited to see the Italian grinder ($14) on the menu! Even with all the new vegan places popping up in Providence, I haven't seen anything like this yet! The plant-based cold cuts were really tasty and had a variety of flavors and textures. The Calabrian chili paste and house-made Italian sandwich mustard gave the sandwich so much flavor! I do wish they used a slightly sturdier sandwich roll because it was a tiny bit soggy by the time the sandwich made it to my house. (You can see in the picture.) The sandwiches come with pickles and a bag of chips. I had the lemon lavender cheesecake ($8) for dessert - also delicious! The lavender flavor was not too strong. I couldn't tell what they used for the base of the cheesecake (nuts, tofu, etc.) which is the mark of a good vegan dessert! Like a lot of vegan food, even though I had a heavy meal I didn't feel tired and weighed down afterwards. I've ordered from here before and really liked the steak and cheese rolls. I've also ordered the Caesar wrap on a different occasion. I decided to order them again and this time also add the "chipotle chicken" grilled sandwich. Am highly disappointed at what I got vs what was depicted on the picture/ for the price. $10 for a grilled cheese I would expect a little more. There was like two small pieces of "chicken" which was not enough to cover both sides, cheese was barely melted and I barely had any onions. Not what I expected. Very disappointing. UPDATE: changed to three stars based on the owners response. I do agree vegan products are more expensive. I have tried several different vegan spots/ dishes so I understand that. Unfortunately, I guess I expected a little different based on the pictures. I appreciate you taking the time to write back to me. I also did not receive the chips. My first time trying Pianta last night with a large party. The service was incredible we felt very welcome, our waitress was super attentive, friendly, and overall wonderful even though the place was packed and she had many tables. The food was literally the best vegan food I've ever had in a restaurant! I had the country "chicken" and it was the comfort food of my dreams and huge portions. Even​ the non vegan people in our party were impressed. The owner came out to greet us and I cannot stress that we never felt rushed or like an inconvenience (which I have felt at other establishments) ​This place is a 10/10. Came here for lunch and had a very nice experience. We got a chicken Caesar wrap and it was great. The chicken was amazing. Not rubbery and nicely crispy, even while being in a wrap with dressing. If you opt for fries or an extra $1. I wasn't a fan of the fries. They were seasoned and a bit too soft for me. I can't wait to come back and try more things! read more
