Italian calzone, Cape Cod Chips, pickles, cookie
    Stephanie T.

My company ordered from the Rue Bis Catering Menu and the food was delivered to our office. I had the box lunch with Italian calzone, Cape Cod Chips, pickles, cookie, and water. The Italian calzone had ham, salami, provolone, & hot peppers. It was tasty, but I wish it was more thicker like filled more. The bread was good. Overall, everything in the box lunch was filling. I would be interested in visiting Rue Bis in person. It'll be an okay spot to try their other sandwiches.

I found this little gem completely by accident. I was returning some items to Amazon at the UPS store closest to my office. It was lunchtime, a nice day and I was starving. The nondescript, unassuming little building across the street from the UPS Store was flying an 'Open' flag by the front door, so I Googled the menu and decided to try it. There was plenty of street parking so I fed a meter and walked on in. The interior is simple but cozy. I was greeted right away and found a small table. The dining room was about half full and there were a few people at the counter. Some breakfast specials remained on the chalkboard but it was after 12:00pm, so the lunch menu was presented. I decided on the Grilled Eggplant on Ciabatta, with goat cheese, baby spinach and sun dried tomato pesto. Sides were fries (baked) or Asian cucumber salad. It also came with two thickly sliced homemade dill pickles. The entire meal was delicious. The bread was lightly toasted - just enough crunch without injuring the roof of my tender mouth. The combination of delicate flavors and textures was perfect. The fries were a bit chewy, but still good. And extra points for the pickles, for sure! (Sometimes, it's the smallest touch that makes a memorable meal). Service was friendly and attentive. Ambiance very nice. I'm happy with my discovery and will most definitely visit again soon.

a bowl of soup on a plate

I just walked over for a bowl of soup. It says chicken rice on their chalkboard sign and I confirmed with the person at the front who replied, " I think so". When I got back to the office I poured it from the to go container to a bowl. There are 3 large bay leaves in it,1 small piece of chicken and maybe 4 diced carrots and celery. There is no stock and no flavor. I feel like she gave me the beginning of a soup; it tastes like garlicky dishwater. I am so disappointed. $6.20 wasted. The picture below is what I poured into my bowl from the plastic container. I am throwing this out.. awful.

    Italian bread.

We have ordered 4 times. 3/4 times our order was wrong or missing items. 1 time our brown bag special had no cookie/brownie, another time our breakfast was missing potatoes (hash or home fries whatever they call it). And this time my "Soup served with focaccia bread" was missing the focaccia. I had specifically asked if they had it before even ordering. My friend picked up the order - checked on cookie and didn't check bread. I called and they said "you can come pick it up". They had 2 small round slices of Italian bread waiting for me. Italian bread and focaccia are not the same. If this is what you serve change description. Very disappointing as I ordered because I had a taste for a good focaccia. My chicken and vegetable souls is: chicken, rice, yellow and red pepper and basil. Wouldn't that be chicken and rice soup? I was expecting chicken and vegetables!!

Clean! casual atmosphere & friendly faces !! I love the classic breakfast special -Eggs made exactly how I like every time, crispy home fries, fresh wheat toast and that perfect cup of coffee! The Price is right at 6.99, ingredients always fresh. This place is no greasy spoon rather a quaint little gem. Everything is so fresh and flavorful, made to order , it's no wonder they are always busy .... . Some great choices: the chopped salad, Good salad, mini meal of the day, soup of the day & chicken Caesar wrap. If your in a rush be sure to call ahead. They Close at 2:30 /3pm

    Cute

This place is tucked on South St. across from UPS sTore I ordered the Frankenstein Sandwich the chicken was tender and the ciabatta was tender! Only thing the bacon wasn't cooked all the way but if you like it partially not crispy it's perfectlyy tasty!

Great spot for a quick breakfast. Freshly Brewed coffee. Breakfast was made to order. Friendly staff. The people were great. Parking was a little tough during busy hours. Very worth it.

Frankenstein, $9.25. If you're reading this: I don't know you, but you could make a better sandwich. I'm confident in that.

The server said there was really only one option on the menu for vegetarians which is what I ordered. The food is served luke warm and for $15 I'm pretty sure I could have made this same dish at home for much cheaper and probably better. It has a spicy chili oil on the side that you mix in along with the pickled radish which was more salty than pickled tasting. One bunch of noodles wasn't properly cooked and clumped at a section. I consider myself pretty good eating with chopsticks and the slippery noodles proved to be quite difficult to eat. Not a good option if you're on a date and maybe concerned with how you will look eating this dish. Probably the saving grace of the dish was the mushrooms which allowed me to give this place 3 stars. I will not be back to this restaurant. I only ordered a hot water with a lemon for a drink. No lemon was given, only a chipped little cup (pictured), and the restaurant was freezing. I kept my coat on the entire time. The menu is really tiny. I suggest looking at the menu before going and really making sure there is something you want to try before going. Rookie mistake made on my end!

We were sadly in a rush and had to be out by a certain time to catch a show, and our server understood the assignment and got us out on the tight schedule we needed. I'm just sad I had to slurp down my soup so quickly as it was absolutely DELICIOUS! I ordered the Snow Mountain Ramen - the creamy tofu broth is unlike anything I've had and was so so unique and delicious. I thought about it for at least a week straight after eating it and am still dying to go back to get more. I also got the Iced Rose Matcha drink - $10 felt too pricy for this but I wanted a fun drink and a little caffeine kick - and again the flavors were unique and tasty. Both my friend and I happened to see someone we knew here - it's definitely a popular spot! It was packed on a Saturday night but it was still pretty quick for us to get a table for 2. Being a downtown city restaurant, the tables feel a bit cramped and I was a little too close to the table next to me for comfort - claustrophobics beware (honestly the soup is worth it though!!) Parking is pretty easy in the lot, although Holy crap they need to fix the potholes / harsh drop-off where it meets the street, and it still was not fully plowed many weeks after the big snowstorm (it's a shared lot so not a Y Noodle specific issue, but just saying). The only thing that was unpleasant were the bathrooms - I get it was a busy weekend night, but they reeked of a litter box the second you stepped in, the floor was dirty and very wet with unknown substances, and the Dyson hand dryer is at such a weird, too high level on the wall that it sprayed water in my face. Everything else was a dream, can't wait to go back! Hopefully the bathrooms were just a fluke.

Not pictured was the tonkatsu meal and my pork belly buns (appetizer for meal). I drank the beer+soju pairing which was good. I never had soju before today. It tasted like apple liquor. I wish that our server had communicated that food comes out as it is ready. My meal came out 10 minutes before everyone else's which is awkward. Although this isn't fine dining, I find a sporadic placement of food to be strange because I sat with my food in front of me waiting for everyone else's. Service is not necessarily friendly, but they are attentive.

I've been meaning to try this place, and I'm so glad I did because I'm obsessed!!! I got the malatang soup with level 3 spice, and the flavor is so amazing. The highlight of the dish for me is how they cooked everything so perfectly; I've definitely encountered malatang spots that either overcook or undercook the noodles/veggies but I've never had the ingredients cooked this well. The service was also so fast and they were super nice!! I came here on a Friday night and it was completely empty, which makes sense because it's summer and this spot is located in a college town. I walked into a space that is small and moody, the kind of room that feels lived in rather than designed for a particular aesthetic, and it suited the casual neighborhood feel of the surrounding area. The hot stone bibimbap is the dish that comes up most consistently and with the most enthusiasm. I ordered it and the stone bowl arrived sizzling. The rice along the bottom edges got crispy against the heat in a way that changed the texture and flavor of the whole dish as I ate through it. The beef and mushroom tofu versions are both well executed, and the egg on top finished the bowl correctly. The katsu is a solid option for anyone coming in looking for something more straightforward. I tried it and the breading was crispy while the cutlet inside stayed tender, and the sauce ratio was handled well rather than drowning what was underneath. The gyoza, japchae, seafood pancakes, and yaki soba fill out a menu that covers enough ground to satisfy a table with different preferences. Side dishes are served in modest portions, which was the main point of friction for me since I am used to more generous banchan. Food came out at a good pace and arrived hot. For Korean and Japanese comfort food in Providence, Den Den is a reliable and genuinely satisfying stop.
