Every time we have gone to Rhode Island, we always try to stop by one of our go to food spots - Plant City X.

In the rare & unfortunate circumstance that I accidentally find myself with a hangover, Plant City X is my salvation. Specifically, the Chik sandwich (on a gluten free bun) with a Tractor cola. That's the cure. That's all it takes. Recently, I gave the drive thru a whirl for the first time. I was thoroughly impressed with how kind & efficient the staff was, even with the difficulties of operating through an intercom & then a window. Now that I know the drive thru is reliable, there's simply no need to get out of my pajamas when journeying out to get my sandwich/soda combo. Incredible. 10/10 recommend for a those tough mornings.

Excellent plant based burgers! I had a double "X" burger, wife had the truffle burger and daughter had a tofu (chick) sandwich. All of them were great and my daughter loves everything. Plant city also has a poutine type fries dish which was also great and some really neat deserts like a bean brownie. Big fan. Nice stop for dinner and good for the fam.

    X Sauce Amazing! Great burger

Super gross area, strange building and traffic flow, sterile inside. Menu is nice. Had burger, sweet potato fries and chickpea tuna wrap, plus takeout quinoa w veggies. Burger and fries A Wrap B Quinoa C Prices were very low! $9 for a burger and $7 for a wrap in 2024?!

Given how the Providence Airport is devoid of gluten free options, I searched for a nearby place where I could pick up lunch before my flight. I was thrilled to find Plant City X. The menu had several good options and I chose the breakfast burrito. It had refried beans, Just Egg, avocado, lettuce, tomato and their special sauce. And the gluten free tortilla at no extra cost was terrific. The burrito was awesome, and totally hit the spot from 30,000 feet above. In fact it's a recipe I'll try to emulate at home but it probably won't be as good as this one. Minor ding since the burrito was not ready at the time it was supposed to be, which was odd because I was literally the only customer in the store.

    Nachos, $9

Yup, this place is the real deal!!! Great quality, surprisingly affordable and amazing tasting food. I got their X Double Burger ($11) and the Nachos ($9). The burger was large and the veggie patties weren't dry at all. Every component of the burger was on point, from the bomb sauce to the cashew cheese and the bun. The homemade chips for the nachos were perfect. The were thick and worked well to holding the amazing toppings. They gave more guacamole than I expected and the cashew sauce was so good. Maybe the only place I've been to whose prices have not increased since this inflation spike. Definitely visit this place. People on any type of diet would love the food here.

The customer service was great and the food was tasty. I'm not attached to a plant-based diet, but I was eager to try this new spot in Warwick and support a new business. I went with my younger son and we both enjoyed a nice dinner. I enjoyed their sandwich, a riff on "chicken", and it was hot and delicious. My son enjoyed the impossible burger. He said his was good but he enjoyed mine more. We also enjoyed an order of fries with truffle dipping sauce. I found myself using the truffle sauce on my chicken as well as a fries! Nice flavor, not overpowering on the truffle. The interior dining space was hip with bright lights and Scandinavian inspired furnishings. Knowing that this was a former Burger King I could see how they transformed the space into a classy but casual area to enjoy your food. The prices were not inexpensive, But also not unreasonable. I'm glad that I gave it a shot and would not hesitate to recommend.

Unreal food and And quick service. You have to get the extreme fries. Good atmosphere as well and convenient location

    Just Egg and vegan cheese

I went for breakfast here. There were just two other people in the place at 9am. There seemed to be no heat on, so I asked about why it was so cold. The counter person (who told me she wasn't a vegan or even a vegetarian) said she'd ask the manager if they could turn on the heat. A short time later, it was decently warm. As to the overall business - for weeks, I was confused by Plant City (nearby) and Plant City X as their outside appearance was similar and the website of Plant City was a bit confusing. I've learned that Plant City (same owners of Plant City X) is designed as a food hall/marketplace and seminar/event center, hosting expensive ($200-250 per person one-hour long vegan seminars) and Drag events for example) and Plant City X is more of a cafe. As to the food - Not many choices, but I was able to find the breakfast sandwich (Just egg, vegan cheese, mushroom bacon on an english muffin - a whopping $6 plus tax, but somewhat okay. The mushroom bacon was very good. The Just Egg is good and a suitable egg replacement, but I prefer egg whites over the Just Egg ingredients which may be a cause for concern. Of course the english muffin is like others. Sadly, the vegan cheese was more like a spread and didn't break through the rest of the ingredients. I could have not had it and never known it wasn't there if I didn't see it myself. The coffee ($4 for a large cup) was less like Dunkin Donuts coffee (the predominant brand in New England where it was established decades ago) and more like Starbucks - very strong and bitter. As a native New Yorker, I prefer Dunkin. Even after using 4 packets of the semi-stevia Plant X has (Stevia "in the raw" - NOT! since its not raw stevia at all, it's a mix), it was way too bitter for me, so I tossed it. There was no stir stick to stir the stevia in, so I attempted to use a straw - didn't work, it immediately shrunk as it is designed to be environmentally friendly and RI is banning plastic bags, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. (I'm a fan of plastic bags and their reuse over to carry my laundry to get clean, carry my lunch and other things, shop with them multiple times, again and again then recycling them when they get holes or torn, then recycle them by burning them to boil water that creates steam that turns a generator that creates electricity as NY City does in the waste-to-energy facilities across the river in New Jersey, PA and SC. Thousands of homes benefit). To give the sandwich some taste, I tried to get some type of hot sauce, but no luck, they don't have any, but they did have Sweet Chili Sauce, so I figured that was better than nothing as the sandwich was bland and somewhat dry. I was surprised I was charged $1 for a tiny plastic cup for it. Overall, it was okay for the breakfast (they have overnight oats and a wrap, etc. as other choices), but I'd get a similar, more tasty veggie egg white sandwich on an English muffin at a lower price in a diner and more choices (grits made in water, etc.) as well. Maybe I'll try the dinner or lunch choices here or Plant City to see if those choices make a better impression on me.

3.75~ red velvet milkshake was not good at all, had a weird after taste. However the chicken nuggets were GASSS. I loved them and the sauce they came with. Drive through was easy and fast!

I was absolutely blown away by how clean and cute this location was! I am so happy that there is a vegan location close by to me. I am not a vegan, however I do chose to eat more vegan food for a better life style. Jasmine( hope I spelled it right) was very helpful and sweet. She put us on the organic sodas they had. Now about the food, man I wish I ordered more! The sauce on the sandwich was amazingggg! Pickles and slaw was homemade and it was delish! Fries were great but the sauce that came with it, oh my goodness CHEF's kiss!!! They'll be seeing me again and again!

Our server, Jenna, visited our table soon after we were seated and brought us water. We were waiting for other members of our party, and she never made us feel rushed or pressured. While waiting, we put in drink orders and the "Lavender Fields Forever" cocktail that I ordered (Rhodium Gin, lavender syrup, fresh lemon juice, snap pea simple syrup) was so delicious, and garnished with a beautiful sprig of lavender flowers. We ordered two appetizers: Point Judith Calarmari and Corn Arepas. The calamari had too many tentacles and not enough rings for me, but the arepas were excellent. The cornmeal base was crispy and hot, and there was just the right amount of meat and toppings. For entrees, our group ordered the Chimichurri Grilled Chicken sandwich, The rigatoni with pink sauce and sausage with crispy chicken as an add on, the short ribs over mashed potatoes, the Wood-Grilled Bone-In Pork Chop, and the Rib Eye Steak. We all enjoyed our entrees. It is evident that Iron Works uses high quality ingredients and puts a great amount of care into the preparation fo their food. We split three desserts amongst the five of us: The flourless chocolate torte, the cheesecake, and the Banoffee Sundae. The flourless torte was rich and very chocolately, and the cheesecake was very good as well. I'm not a fan of bananas, so I didn;t try the Sundae, but the friend who ordered it enjoyed it. After dinner, we sat and chatted for awhile,, and we never felt rushed or pressured to leave. This was a very enjoyable evening in a great restaurant environment with delicious food.

Ambiance is excellent, but my meal was quite literally inedible…read more I ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp and a side of truffle fries. Most egregious: the shrimp that came with the Caesar salad was POPCORN SHRIMP coated in SWEET-AND-SOUR sauce. I truly couldn't believe it. Why wouldn't the server at least warn me? To add insult to injury, my salad was overdressed and soggy. Also, the dressing was revolting. I don't mind anchovies for flavor, but the dressing tasted like an anchovy puree. I think it was maybe past its prime. I had one bite and couldn't continue. Inedible. And the fries. The parmesan truffle fries were drenched in mayonnaise??? I don't really care for mayo but I don't mind a drizzle or an aioli dipping sauce. However, the mayo to fry ratio was literally 2:1. I tried to wipe it off and it was still like a mayo-fry soup. Inedible. I took everything to go and just trashed it. I've NEVER done that before. This is a delayed review (meal was a few months ago) and I'm still rattled by how bad it was.

Its in a nice little spot, there was plenty of parking and the space is clearly new which you notice in a nice clean newly paved parking lot. I like when I walked in- there is a small entry - you're not thrown into a big space. I wasn't expecting table service at a brewery - even with a full menu - that was a nice surprise. Our server did have a slight lag where we were thinking wheeerrrrrre did he go? But the rest of the night he was on top of things. I ordered poutine and a couple of beers. The poutine was good - I like shoestring fries. But I have one beloved former RI restaurants poutine taking up too big a space in my heart still, and this didn't quite hit that. But it was a good snack. Great serving size. We sat in a small alcove with like 4 - 4 top tables. I dig the decorations. Christmas lights are festive and fun. The bar looked decently busy for a wednesday evening - but the acoustics inside work well and it didn't feel noisy or distracting. I got the Cohesive (American IPA) and def enjoyed it. This is the second time we've waited an unreasonable amount of time for something simple that we already ordered and paid for, this time being a side of Shake Sauce. We stood at the front waiting because there was no employee anywhere to be seen, and the few employees who were around completely ignored us. There was also a pregnant woman standing there waiting 5 to 10 minutes just to be acknowledged because items from her order were missing as well. If no one is going to consistently stay at the front, the restaurant should at least have a bell, buzzer, or some system so customers are not left standing there wondering what to do. What's most frustrating is that these were issues that should have been handled correctly from the beginning, and when employees finally did help, the attitude and facial expressions were unprofessional and unwelcoming. The food is still good, which is why this is disappointing. This location seems like it would really benefit from stronger management presence, better customer service training, and experienced managers who can properly guide and support newer or younger employees.

The table on the other side had the chairs right up against the chairs behind it. Whatever. We got settled and looked at the menu. First item on the app menu was a bread basket. 4 rolls of bread for $8. Most places just bring bread. Ok, we aren't getting bread. Ordered drinks. I got an apple cinnamon mule. It was very tasty, but 2 sips and the drink was gone. The cup was filled to the top with ice once the drink was gone. Ordered the sirloin sandwich. Server said it's her favorite thing on the menu. I ordered the horseradish on the side because too much is overwhelming. It came smothered in horseradish. The person who brought it food placed it and was gone, so I didn't have a chance to say anything. I managed to take the steak out and wipe off the horseradish... there was soooo much. I couldn't eat the bread. By the time the server came over to ask how everything was, the rest of my party was almost done eating. I mentioned that the horseradish was supposed to be on the side and she said "oh no! It's ok though right?" I said I guess it will have to be, as she can see most of my dinner was untouched and I was eating my wiped off steak with a knife and fork. She didn't say anything else and left. No manager came by. But after reading other negative reviews for this restaurant, I figured I should warn people. Had I read the reviews first, I probably wouldn't have gone. Lesson learned.
