Always so so delicious. I'm grateful that my old regular-menu favorite that has since been discontinued, the Guac Chik Burger, is still available now as a special! I swapped the Cilantro Aioli for their PCX sauce to keep it as close to the original recipe I remember as possible. The bun had a slightly sweet, buttery flavor and was perfectly fluffy. The chikn patty was crunchy and satisfying as always. The guac felt a little store bought instead of fresh, but I appreciate that it isn't super onion-y. The lavender flavor in the iced coffee is a perfect, herbal lavender flavor that is not very sweet but just enough. I'm a little bummed their dining room closes earlier these days - 7 pm most days - so from 6-7 you'll see staff cleaning the dining room and closing up, which feels a little early and sometimes makes me feel like I need to rush out, even when it's only 6:15 pm. I love the Plant City in PVD but I find it so convenient to have this location to go to. Although the selection is much more limited and focuses more on "fast food", there are so many great options and it's nice to have a place nearby that is accommodating to different food sensitivities and allergies. In the rare & unfortunate circumstance that I accidentally find myself with a hangover, Plant City X is my salvation. Specifically, the Chik sandwich (on a gluten free bun) with a Tractor cola. That's the cure. That's all it takes. Recently, I gave the drive thru a whirl for the first time. I was thoroughly impressed with how kind & efficient the staff was, even with the difficulties of operating through an intercom & then a window. Now that I know the drive thru is reliable, there's simply no need to get out of my pajamas when journeying out to get my sandwich/soda combo. Excellent plant based burgers! I had a double "X" burger, wife had the truffle burger and daughter had a tofu (chick) sandwich. All of them were great and my daughter loves everything. Given how the Providence Airport is devoid of gluten free options, I searched for a nearby place where I could pick up lunch before my flight. I was thrilled to find Plant City X. The menu had several good options and I chose the breakfast burrito. It had refried beans, Just Egg, avocado, lettuce, tomato and their special sauce. And the gluten free tortilla at no extra cost was terrific. The burrito was awesome, and totally hit the spot from 30,000 feet above. In fact it's a recipe I'll try to emulate at home but it probably won't be as good as this one. Yup, this place is the real deal!!! Great quality, surprisingly affordable and amazing tasting food. I got their X Double Burger ($11) and the Nachos ($9). The burger was large and the veggie patties weren't dry at all. Every component of the burger was on point, from the bomb sauce to the cashew cheese and the bun. The homemade chips for the nachos were perfect. The were thick and worked well to holding the amazing toppings. They gave more guacamole than I expected and the cashew sauce was so good. Maybe the only place I've been to whose prices have not increased since this inflation spike. Definitely visit this place. People on any type of diet would love the food here. read more

The customer service was great and the food was tasty. I'm not attached to a plant-based diet, but I was eager to try this new spot in Warwick and support a new business. I went with my younger son and we both enjoyed a nice dinner. I enjoyed their sandwich, a riff on "chicken", and it was hot and delicious. My son enjoyed the impossible burger. He said his was good but he enjoyed mine more. We also enjoyed an order of fries with truffle dipping sauce. I found myself using the truffle sauce on my chicken as well as a fries! Nice flavor, not overpowering on the truffle. The interior dining space was hip with bright lights and Scandinavian inspired furnishings. Knowing that this was a former Burger King I could see how they transformed the space into a classy but casual area to enjoy your food. The prices were not inexpensive, But also not unreasonable. I'm a 46 year vegetarian and have tried many vegetarian and. Vegan eateries but I just did not like the food here at all. I liken this place to Vegan fast food but IMHO it was lousy. We each had the "Shamrock" shake and it was gross- had a fake mint taste - I had the Philly Cheesesteak and my daughter the Buffalo Chikn burger/sandwich and we shared the Xfries that had the two sauces / neither of us even finished our meals and tossed them after a few bites Won't be coming back. I went for breakfast here. There were just two other people in the place at 9am. There seemed to be no heat on, so I asked about why it was so cold. The counter person (who told me she wasn't a vegan or even a vegetarian) said she'd ask the manager if they could turn on the heat. A short time later, it was decently warm. As to the overall business - for weeks, I was confused by Plant City (nearby) and Plant City X as their outside appearance was similar and the website of Plant City was a bit confusing. I've learned that Plant City (same owners of Plant City X) is designed as a food hall/marketplace and seminar/event center, hosting expensive ($200-250 per person one-hour long vegan seminars) and Drag events for example) and Plant City X is more of a cafe. As to the food - Not many choices, but I was able to find the breakfast sandwich (Just egg, vegan cheese, mushroom bacon on an english muffin - a whopping $6 plus tax, but somewhat okay. The mushroom bacon was very good. The Just Egg is good and a suitable egg replacement, but I prefer egg whites over the Just Egg ingredients which may be a cause for concern. Of course the english muffin is like others. Sadly, the vegan cheese was more like a spread and didn't break through the rest of the ingredients. I could have not had it and never known it wasn't there if I didn't see it myself. The coffee ($4 for a large cup) was less like Dunkin Donuts coffee (the predominant brand in New England where it was established decades ago) and more like Starbucks - very strong and bitter. As a native New Yorker, I prefer Dunkin. Even after using 4 packets of the semi-stevia Plant X has (Stevia "in the raw" - NOT! since its not raw stevia at all, it's a mix), it was way too bitter for me, so I tossed it. There was no stir stick to stir the stevia in, so I attempted to use a straw - didn't work, it immediately shrunk as it is designed to be environmentally friendly and RI is banning plastic bags, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. (I'm a fan of plastic bags and their reuse over to carry my laundry to get clean, carry my lunch and other things, shop with them multiple times, again and again then recycling them when they get holes or torn, then recycle them by burning them to boil water that creates steam that turns a generator that creates electricity as NY City does in the waste-to-energy facilities across the river in New Jersey, PA and SC. Thousands of homes benefit). To give the sandwich some taste, I tried to get some type of hot sauce, but no luck, they don't have any, but they did have Sweet Chili Sauce, so I figured that was better than nothing as the sandwich was bland and somewhat dry. I was surprised I was charged $1 for a tiny plastic cup for it. Overall, it was okay for the breakfast (they have overnight oats and a wrap, etc. as other choices), but I'd get a similar, more tasty veggie egg white sandwich on an English muffin at a lower price in a diner and more choices (grits made in water, etc.) as well. Maybe I'll try the dinner or lunch choices here or Plant City to see if those choices make a better impression on me. read more

I went to the soft launch of the new Plant City X location and everything was excellent! The dining room wasn't open yet so we did the drive thru and sat outside on their patio which was very nice. We tried the guac chkn burger, the Xtreme fries, the buffalo mac and cheese, the X nuggets, and the chocolate shake. What amazes me the most is their vegan cheese. I got the vegan blue cheese with the X nuggets and couldn't believe how authentic it tasted. The Xtreme fries are absolutely delicious with the mushrooms, onions, and hot peppers on top. I also thought the buffalo mac had a great kick, and was even better with the nuggets mixed in for a crunch. I love that their mac and cheese options are all gluten free! The X nuggets are bland on their own, but they have lots of options for dipping sauces. The chocolate shake was thick and rich, just like you want it to be! Sadly this place just keeps getting worse. First, they got rid of all of my favorite things on the menu as a GF person that doesn't like burgers..No more mac and cheese, no more nachos, no more caesar salad. So then I started getting the caesar wrap and the loaded fries. They changed the GF wrap a couple months ago to something that's super chewy/bland like what you'd imagine a yoga mat would taste like and the loaded fries, as of today, are now cut in half size wise. While I understand they need to make money, I'm sad that things just keep getting worse as someone that comes twice a week. Wish it was like it was before the menu switch, it made more sense to come often back then. Now the only two things I like are either inedible or half the size. Sadly disappointed. I've been waiting for a healthy, plant based restaurant to open nearby and was excited to see a restaurant named Plant City so close to home. So I popped in! Menu looked good, but it was expensive. What the heck, I'll get a few things to try anyway. How about a truffle burger, the x-treme fries, and an açaí smoothie? The smoothie was great. Nothing else was. The burger was over cooked to the point it was actually hard to eat. The bottom of the burger was charred black. The mushrooms were tasty, but I just couldn't eat it. The fries were over cooked too and the presentation was lacking too. Like anyone would actually want to eat that? So sad because I'm trying to eat less meat and was hoping for a fun plant based restaurant I could frequent. Maybe it's because I was wearing camouflage style muck boots? I was so happy to find that Plant City opened two drive thru locations called Plant City X! I've come here 3 times in the past week and a half I've been visiting my family and everything has been delicious. My favorite so far has been the Buffalo Chik Sandwich and the Cobb Salad. Hoping they'll still be here next time I visit home. My only complaint is the first time I ordered ahead online, i showed up 10-15 minutes late and the order was another 10 minutes wait. Even still it was worth it and delicious! My non-vegan nephews even loved the nuggets and sweet potato fries! read more

I know someone else said it was clean but I don't think the floors have been washed in a long time and all the tables had remnants of food or drinks on them. So glad to have a plant city X closer to home in Warwick! Food was fresh. We enjoyed a Buffalo "chicken" sandwich and "tuna" wrap. I lovedddd the tuna wrap it was light, tasty and packed with chick pea for protein. The inside and bright and looks clean. There is an outdoor area we opted to sit in which is also nice but could use some upkeep, saw webs, pollen etc. there was also an issue with the credit card reader adding about 5 extra minutes to our order. The cashier had to try 2-3 different card readers for it to finally work :-/ otherwise, a wonderful option for quick, healthy options close to the highway in Warwick. read more

The fryer is not dedicated. They have GF marked all over the menu and it should not be marked GF. I've felt sick several times and even though I tell them I have a gluten "allergy." I blamed it on other stuff but today is the first time they told me it is no longer dedicated. It used to be GF but not they fry seitan in it, never occurred to me the seitan was fried. I led a deprived childhood. I was deprived of the typical American fast-food experience. I've never tasted Big Mac or Whopper burgers; nor Arby's or Roy Rogers beef; nor Baskin-Robbins or Häagen-Dazs ice cream. Even as a child, before the advent of drive-thru, I can't recall ever seeing the inside of a MacDonald's or a Burger King. As a vegan since 1970 and a vegetarian since 1966, for a wakeup break when driving long distances I do on rare occasions order a drive-thru Wendy's baked potato "with nothing on it." But I've never been inside a Wendy's. Walking into Planet X therefore was a new experience for me. The sterile white décor abounding with plastic plants, the loud blaring music, and the hard white resin seating I suppose are intended to replicate American junk food joints, as though that were an ideal worthy of aspiration. I would be more accepting of the antiseptic ambience if the food were identical to the Providence mothership's basically whole foods cuisine. But no, food here is dumbed down. Those plastic plants provide a good metaphor for the food. Vegan food for the masses? Or fast food for the vegans? The menu is surprisingly limited for such a large edifice. For instance, no fruit or vegetable juices. The closest thing to pure juice, a green smoothie, appears on the wall menu, but was discontinued. (It no longer is listed on the online menu.) Thank goodness for the three salads, though one of the salads features fried tofu. Yelp attests that Planet X's Health Score as provided by Hazel Analytics is 100 out of 100. Hazel is woefully in need of a lesson in nutrition. Health food and fried food are antonyms. Cooking any unsaturated oil makes it carcinogenic. Frying any food, no matter how nutritious it may have begun, renders that food nutritionally worthless. As I avoid fried foods, my choice was down to two salads or the three variations of Mac & Cheeze or the six variations of the Burger. I eat salads every day at home, so here skipped the salad. The "bean/veg/grain patty" in the Burger is not overprocessed mock meat, but whole food. Yeah! You can both see and taste the beet and sweet potato. Thank you, Planet X, for a burger of nutritional value worthy of serving and eating! But my Guac Burger's other contents were insipid, especially the pallid white flour bun, which should have been toasted, as toasting would have given it the rigidity it lacked to hold together its inner contents. I discarded the spongelike top bun, but was compelled to consume the bottom bun as it had absorbed the thin smear of guacamole that defined mine as a Guac Burger. My friend attested that when he twice before ordered the Guac Burger from here that the guacamole was plentiful and oozing everywhere outside the bun. In mine, however, the only indication of guacamole was a green tint to the bun. I ate my burger layer by layer, so saw the smear, otherwise I would not have known the guac was present. You add your tip to your bill while standing at the counter in front of the waitstaff before you are served, so perhaps the staff serve the guac according to the size of your tip. Of the three prefigured tips, 15, 20, and 25%, I chose the miserly 15%, so perhaps that's why my guac was doled out so meagerly. My theory, however, needs further testing. In the Truffle Mac & Cheeze, the mushrooms were delicious and plentiful, and the topping was memorably crunchy. But the macaroni was bland white flour and mushy, and the cheeze tasteless and soupy. A few minutes in a non-microwave oven might have livened it up. My friend ordered the Sweet Potato Fries. Before he dug in, I sampled one piece. Sweet potato was interesting and an improvement over white potato fries. But greasy galore. Served in an open container, its grease oozed everywhere, on the wrappers of our burgers and even on the larger bag in which our meals were served. We were never asked "takeout or eat-in?" so I guess everything is served as to-go even when you eat inside their austere interior. Some folks define Planet X's fast food as comfort food. This is fast food for fast foodists who just happen to be vegans. If you count yourself among that clan, take comfort in knowing that you will find happiness here. read more

Close to work so I go here pretty often. Service okay .. one lady is nice but generally they are apathetic .. almost like they're trained not to greet you. I've had quite a bit of the food at this point -- I love that this place exists but I wish it were better. The ambiance is weirdly sterile ... like an Instagram photo waiting to happen. All food served to go regardless of your dining status. Certain things I really love there .. like their cacao smoothie is good when available, their cheese steak is rly good. The fried tofu chicken sandwiches kinda suck. The black bean tofu kale bowl sucks .. unless u want just plain ass food. The fries are regular .. if they're fresh they're good and the workers give you a lot of them likely realizing $5 is a lot for fries. The chickpea wrap is okay. There is a second wrap I can't remember but I hated that one. The burgers are tasty but always upset my stomach when there is an aoli on them .. idk why because I eat mayo fine otherwise. Long story short .. service is okay, food is okay, best part is that it exists at all ... which is kinda sad. OK I'm officially OBSESSED. Love that they have a drive thru, love that they ask about allergies, love that it's super clean, and most of all- it's tasty! I'm not vegan but my husband is severely lactose intolerant, so it's really hard to find a quick breakfast spot that won't accidentally "poison" him. Driving through Warwick on my way to City Park when I see Plant City X! This was a pleasant surprise as I was only aware of X Middletown location and the first location in Providence. A member of the staff was super personable. He assisted me while I took my time to make a decision and pointed me to some of the popular menu items. In my opinion, the better sandwiches are those made with tofu as opposed to those made with seitan. For me seitan is a hit or miss food, and sadly for me....the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was a miss. The employee who helped me while ordering was the same to ask me how I liked my food when I walked over to the trash he was replacing. I told him the Buffalo cauliflower bites were the best I've had, however I was underwhelmed by the sandwich. I was then offered a replacement as I only took two bites of the first sandwich and didn't want to finish the rest. I am beyond pleased by the level of customer service displayed....and now I sit happily writing this review as I enjoy my delicious "Chik" Sandwich.
