The vibe of the place was cool and the pho portion was generous enough to serve about 3 people (we were just 2 adults and a child). That said, the food didn't justify the price. The Sancocho pho was overly salty, not served hot enough, and the plantains were undercooked. For a pho, fried chicken, tostones, and one Coke, the bill came out to $155 after mandatory tip and taxes, extremely overpriced in my opinion. Overall, nice atmosphere but disappointing food and value. read more

How does one describe a restaurant with a name like Phuc Yea? I tried different pronounciations in my mind, but realized the owners meant to pronounce it like F*** Yeah. Sensationalism at its best in Miami where anything goes!  Actually, "phuc" means "blessings and prosperity" in Vietnamese per the owners. It was the Chinese New Year, Year of the Rabbit, and we arrived in a timely manner, but they were just opening up, and we were fine with that because there were so many photo ops outdoors. PY is located in the MiMo District of Miami, where old art deco buildings still exist. This looks to be a 3-story building with 3 separate dining rooms, all decorated with Asian memorabilia. Each wall has something of interest for everyone, including sexually explicit Asian prints in the gender neutral bathroom. I can't  publish the pictures/video because I don't think they would be allowed on Yelp. I wonder what children think when they go to the bathroom there. Moving on, there are many colorful red paper lanterns hanging in the outdoor dining area and in front of the restaurant. They are lit up in the evening. It is quite the mood enhancer.  We got there when the sun was still out and left when it was dark. The music was R&B and was not too loud, so you could have conversations with each other very easily. PY is located on busy Biscayne Boulevard, so just drive around to the back where there is ample free parking. There is a back entrance to the restaurant. You also get to see the outdoor dining area as you enter. We had high hopes for this restaurant as we arrived. I would love to say that everything went great with our dinner but, unfortunately,  it didn't to our dismay. I have to be honest when writing my reviews. The hostess, Tamara, was very welcoming and helpful. We decided to sit indoors and enjoy the ambiance. We ordered a Margarita and a Daquiri since it was still happy hour. The Daquiri was fine, but the Margarita tasted like a vegetable garden, mostly celery, cilantro, and cucumbers. The server, Tatiana, exchanged the Margarita for a Daquiri, which tasted a bit better. She then ran off presumably to go upstairs to tend to the Chinese New Year party. We ordered appetizers, the Edamame Hummus, with fried plantains (tostones), which was the best tasting item we had that night. We also tried the Fried Chicken Bao Buns, which were bland, not the best I've ever tasted, and the Chicken Wings, which were so dry and tiny. Then, we sat and waited for 25 minutes with no server in sight...our dirty dishes staring at us... no water to drink... no one around. We were getting annoyed. Finally, someone showed up to pour water in our glasses. We asked for our server. Our server had gone upstairs to serve a large party celebrating Chinese New Year's. Another server (who we found out later on was the manager) came over to us, and we spoke to her about the Special House Pho. We requested and stressed no jalapeños.  She nodded and cleared our table of the used dishes. We sat and chatted. Eventually, the manager brought over the large bowl of soup and poured it for us. I noticed lots of jalapeños in the soup bowl as I was tasting it! I said to her that we requested "no jalapenos." She left and came back to tell us that other guests got our order without jalapeños and we were given their order! We had been at the restaurant for 2 hours already and were exasperated by now. We asked for the manager. She came to our table quickly and introduced herself as Cathy, when suddenly, directly 3 feet behind me, a loud bang went off like a gunshot, and my back suddenly was all wet!  I turned around and saw that someone had knocked a filled ice bucket stand all over the floor and partially on me. Ok, I decided to ignore it and get on with our complaints to Cathy. She was apologetic and said they could make another bowl of Pho, but we were not hungry anymore and were tired and upset and wanted to leave. She was very gracious and took good care of us. What an evening. read more

Phuc Yea was a great experience! When we were first walking up to the restaurant it looked dead, but all the seating is upstairs! Our server was very helpful in explaining the menu. We ordered food to share for the table! Everything was very tasty and unique! The drinks were also very very good. Most are on the sweeter side, so if you aren't a big fan of sweet drinks I would double check the ingredients. The star of the show for me was the short rib with the bao buns! It falls off the bone, so it's very easy to serve yourself! If you're looking for a sweet and unique drink I recommend the purple rain! It has coconut ube and is made with rum! It's more of a dessert drink for me, but was very good! read more

Phuc yea was a great experience . From the decor of the place to the tasteful drinks and friendly bartender , I truly enjoyed it . This is a tapa style restaurant and every dish I tried I loved. The short ribs and truffle fried rice stole the show , to die for .. Drinks and bartender were on point , making me a modified version of their litchi martini as I like it more on the sour side; perfection! The ambiance was great and I really loved the decorations on the wall, perfect for a cozy, intimate night even with a group. The one thing I was not crazy about was the dessert, we tried their bread pudding with condensed milk and it was just ok Overall , I recommend a coat and you will love their flavors. read more

One star for a restaurant that has been on my list but provided an awful experience that ensures I will never visit the establishment again. I went to this establishment for brunch with four friends on Sunday, we were one of the first parties seated. The waitress went around the table and each of us what we would like to order. We all ordered one dish and then me and one friend got an appetizer to share. The appetizer came out first, and then the other dishes soon followed, except mine. At this point a few other parties had been seated and received their order but I was still waiting for my dish. The waiter came and apologized for the wait, at that point it had been over 15 minutes since everyone else had gotten their dish. Eventually everyone at my table had finished eating and I still hadn't gotten my dish, at that point I went up and asked the waiter what was going on. She again apologized and said the kitchen might have thought it was a dessert but she knows that it was my entree and she already let them know. After checking with the kitchen she came to our table and said the dish was delayed because they were making the whip cream from scratch?... After that it was about 10 more minutes until I got my dish, so this whole ordeal took well over 30 minutes. The check came and to my surprise they charged me full price for the French toast. I told the waiter I do not think it's fair that I have to pay full price after having to wait that long for my dish, having to eat it alone since everyone else in my party had already finished eating and multiple customers that came in after my party were served their food as well. She swiftly said okay, I'll bring the manager over. The manager came over very cold and said "I heard there was an issue with your French toast." I explained to her what happened and I asked if it's appropriate that I pay full price for the dish. She said that's just how the kitchen works, they serve things as tapas / appetizers. My friend then mentioned that other people got their food before I did and she said oh maybe they thought it was a dessert. I then asked why should I have to pay for mistake that you all made and she went back to saying that's just how the kitchen works. The whole ordeal with the manager was embarrassing, uneccessary, she was very cold and nonchalant; very unprofessional. They admitted their mistake multiple times throughout the dining experience but at the same time they refused to take any responsibility for it. As for the food my dish (the French toast) was good very rich. One of the dishes my friends ordered, the sandwich I believe, was okay but they said the other dish is locked flavor and were overpriced for what they were. Although the French toast was good, definitely was not worth the visit you can get better elsewhere. I do not recommend this establishment, who knows how the staff will feel like treating you. read more

First, this is one of my favorite restaurants. I've loved and been going for years: the food is different from any other place and always delish. On this occasion, I felt like the pricing has become over the top and the server upsold us a bit with an item that was not what we expected. Unsure if it was his description or we just misunderstood. Anywho, the noodles and wings are a must. Anything else will be delicious, as well, but get ready to pay. $$$$ read more

I was a little skeptical and almost walked out when I didn't recognize anything on the menu. I've never had pork belly made in this manner and I was a little hesitant to try something made with a sweet fish sauce (because I don't like seafood) but hubby pushed for us to stay since we had made it all the way there and I'm happy he did. Every single dish was an explosion of flavor in your mouth. I was shocked at how delicious everything was. The service was pleasant, the waiters were absolutely beautiful and the ambiance was so eccentric, it's a really hip place to be. I wish I would've taken more pics of the area because they had alot of cool indoor decor and the rooms felt more like a cozy house than an actual restaurant but there were so many people around that I didn't want to bother anyone with my camera D': everything looked so cool!! The parking was behind the building and you don't have to pay but we ended up parking next door on the side and keeping an eye on our car through the window We will definitely be coming back! read more

PHUC YEA - From Philly to Miami, this place is the JAWN! From the moment we walked in, it was PHUC YEA!!! The only place my son could say "PHUC YEA" and not get the side-eye! He proudly told me, "Mami, it's like saying the F word, but I'm not -- it's spelled with PH!!!" Now let's talk about the ambiance, the playlist, and the food -- absolutely top-tier. We ordered the leeches lemonade, coconut/passion fruit lemonade, octopus (first time for me -- wow!), million dollar rice, PY noodles, fried chicken, and that banana coconut pudding cake thingy... every bite was perfection. And the staff? Angie and Jordyn were PHENOMENAL! Friendly, attentive, and full of great energy. My son and I love exploring new foods wherever we travel, and this spot is officially one of our favorites. If you're ever in South Florida, PHUC YEA is a must-try. We wanted to love this place so much! We had heard great things and were excited to try it. The ambiance is great, the decor on the inside is really cool. It's a small place, so it makes sense that you need to order all at once to turn over the tables. The drinks were OK. We tried 3 and I only really liked the margarita, but it was really really good. My boyfriend got the Paloma and it was super oily and I did not like the taste. We tried the gin fizz at the end and it was ok. We love a funky experimental drink, but I think they got a little too funky with the. Except the margarita, that was super good. Tasted like a really nice green juice. For the food, we ordered a TON because things sounded soooo good. Sadly, most of the dishes were just ok. Our favorite was the summer roll. The flavors worked really well together. My boyfriend liked the spicy dumplings but I really was eh about them. They weren't spicy and the filling could have been a lot better. The ceviche was flavored really nicely but missing some crunch. It was a huge plate of fish that was als not excessive, and it was just fish. The flavor was nice and I liked the addition of the spicy peppers. We got sweet and spicy bao buns next, and the sauce was really good but there wasn't enough of it. The pork was kind of dry and my bao wasn't fluffy. It was wet and slimy. That was disappointing. So those were our appetizers (lol). For the main course we ordered the skillet octopus, quail, spicy rigatoni, and oxtail. The octopus was really good and I loved the chickpea purée that it came with. Those tomatoes were also insanely good. The quail was nice, the chili oil it was cooked in was insanely good, but I'm not sure I loved the green curry. The rigatoni was probably the biggest disappointment of the night. It came with duck and a coconut sauce which was entirely too sweet and light, so it didn't pair well with a heavy pasta. And finally, the oxtail was so fatty we could barely find any meat. The broth it came in was nice. Overall I probably wouldn't go back. read more

Something has change, I was extremely disappointed last night. Wasn't my best experience at Phuc Yea. Really left unhappy with the service, ordered spicy dumplings and and jasmine rice - got the rice never got the dumplings. Then upon receiving the bill our table was charged for water and ice . I mean $3.00 for tap water and $4.00 for ice( rocks) because someone ordered gin straight. This was a first and last, the menu has changed a lot and it wasn't the same experience I had the other times that I've been. I mean short ribs at market price. What . Not happy at all read more

Omgggg amazing food, super friendly staff and killer ambiance. The building itself looks like it was an old hotel but it feels cozy. The food and cocktail options are deliciously unique without being stuffy or pretentious. And the staff were soooooo kind (and the music was also bomb)! My husband went here with his friends twice and was adamant about bringing me to this place because he enjoyed the food so much. It did NOT disappoint. It's not too pricey either! Modern Vietnamese? Count me in. Michelin Guide recommended? Heck yea (or well, "phuc yea", in this case). It's highly suggested you make a reservation, as this place gets quite busy, especially considering the reputation it's earned from having a star on this internationally renowned list. Despite our amateur mistake of showing up without one, the maître d accommodated our party and even "upgraded us" to a brighter section after moving around some other people -- good sign already! Right off the bat, this small act was a glimpse at the impeccable service for the rest of the night, though at times felt a bit overbearing and cloying (read as "fake"). The decor was really interesting -- something like a cleaned up Budapest ruins bar meets Brutalism crossed with modern rustic. I liked the cozy intimate nature of it, and the music was popping, but not so loud you couldn't have a deep conversation with friends. The wait reminded us that the restaurant was family style (duh? It's an Asian place...?) so we got a bunch of things after running them by her for heft, flavour, and variety. We got both the summer roll (not fried) and the cha gio roll (fried). Both were good, but came as one single roll cut into multiple pieces for sharing (a rip off when balancing the cost and quality of it compared to other Vietnamese places, but Miami is bereft of quality Asian-food, so this is your best bet). The ceviche was bomb dot com, and I'd recommend it in a heartbeat -- the fish was super fresh and the nuoc cham was an interesting marinade alternative to the lemon juice best that most ceviches come in. The wagyu with caviar was amazing -- the slices were so tender, red, fatty, and buttery that it would be might favourite of the night if it hadn't been for the fresh seared fish we got. Holy moly, every part of that catch of the day was hitting in all the right places, and the sauce was divine. I think the biggest let down for me of the night was the P.Y. noodles which were the garlic butter oyster sauce and parmesan spaghetti dish -- I say spaghetti because the noodles had the consistency and toughness of spaghetti, and no, it was not the chewiness that you'd expect from real Asian noodles. Other than that, it was a good meal and a nice treat, but do expect to spend a pretty penny for this gournet experience. read more

Great food, and ambiance. The wait time was a bit slow. They have a parking lot at the back of the restaurant

We have come here a few times and it was always good. Tonight was a total 180 degree experience. We had a 9pm reservation and did not get sit till 9:45. The waiter that brought our drinks out had no idea which drink each of us had ordered. Wait..... then we ordered food and waited over an hour for anything to come out. The duck was tasteless. The cucumber salad had no flavor. The papaya salad was terrible and fishy. Round 2. Went here again summer 2025. Was hoping for an improvement. Bartenders are amazing. Great drinks. Food took forever. "Lomo saltado" was tough. Asked for beer. Didn't have any beer. Asked for espresso and didn't have that or any coffee. Also they closed the entrance from the parking lot so we had to walk in rain around the block. Come on guys. You can do better. read more

Accidentally went during Chinese new year. Best accident ever. There were dancers, tattoos being done, and fire breathers all in addition to some amazing food. Inside one of the oldest building in Miami, this place is dark and moody in the best way. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. We ordered the PY noodles and the fried chicken and we were suggested by our waiter to add bao buns to put the chicken in. We shared everything but I really wanted to keep the PY noodles all to myself. They were THAT good. They will let you know that the meals come out as they're ready so perhaps sharing is the best option. As for sweets, the carrot cake dessert was excellent and the espresso martini had an orange essence that's different than what I've had before. read more

This restaurant has been on my list for a few years now. Finally decided to try it on a Friday night. I attended with my daughter who is a foodie and studying g Food Science. Upon arrival noticed the beautiful outside area where one of the cooks is grilling "masitas de puerco". The smell was delicious. They sat us right at the entrance and did not notice there is a whole different area upstairs where the bar was. We ordered two of their special cocktails. They were really good. For dinner we had the Millionaire rice, "masitas de puerco" with bao buns and the edamame hummus. The rice was my favorite, the flavor insane. I would had liked a bigger portion for the hummus as it was only spread on the bowl and not much to try. They should include a bigger amount. It came with tostones. The masitas were delicious and a great portion for two. It was quite an experience and highly recommended. Great vibes and the other side of the restaurant is really nice. Had a great experience, Christian was a great server and the food and drinks were tasty!

My party visited Phuc Yea for their Lunar Bew Year celebration. First of all, place is GORGEOUS. The palette is gemlike and upscale. There are hints of Asian influence in the decor. The service was busy but no complaints. The drinks we got from the LNY menu (one of each) were strong but pretty one-dimensional in flavor. For starters, the Spicy Dumplings were pretty mild in flavor. The Fried Chicken was delicious, and balanced well with the creamy aioli and watermelon salad. The PY noodles are a savory blend of house and egg noodle with oyster sauce and Parmesan. They tasted a tad oily and I couldn't decide if the overall effect leaned towards Asian or Italian. The Galbi ribs were a letdown. For $38, we got only a small serving of meat and there was no special sauce, garnish, or creative addition to the galbi to justify a $38 dish. The galbi I cook out of my freezer in the kbbq sauce packet tastes the same. The redeeming factor was the carrot cake; it is "deconstructed" like a cobbler served in a bowl. Fresh carrot shavings and a mix of creamy and crunchy texture. Overall, some dishes stood out but others were very overpriced for the quality. I would return for the fried chicken and carrot cake alone. Final rating: 3.5-3.7 / 5 read more

Phuc No. Where do I start?.... A few of us decided to host a group of people for a birthday dinner. A lot of planning went into it, and the restaurant management accommodated some of our requests (we accommodated all of theirs, including shifting our start time to fit into their "sitting"/table turnover timeline and comply with their 22 percent service charge). We were promised a private area, 8 pm start, and a comfortable seating. What we got: - 8:30 + start time - Crammed sitting with 4 people in what should be 2 people spacing - Nowhere near a private area, with table extending all the way to the bar and a high traffic area - A passive aggressive manager who made everyone feel uncomfortable asking questions she knew won't be answered directly by any polite guest - A guest getting stuck with another person's tab - A dessert ordered by someone not aware it was not included and getting an 80 dollar bill for carrot cake to honor BD girls (last time I checked, cake for the BD person is on the house is in most restaurants) - And a final straw was 8% admin fee added to all checks (that's in addition to 22% automatic service charge) - for a total of 30% service charge!! All 19 guests were disgusted by the nickeling and diming, by complete lack of hospitality and graciousness from the restaurant. We were 19 professional and successful women wanting to bring business to a restaurant owned by a woman. In return, the woman owner and the woman manager - both went out of their way to screw guests in any way they could. This means that this experience is now propagating all of our networks. And the network effect is powerful, both positive and negative. While the food was not abundant, it was delicious - 2 stars. With so many options in Miami, Phuc Yea is not making it on my return list. This place is not in it for the long run. I gave Ani, the owner, 1 week to make it up to my guests. She did not. read more

Food and drinks were delicious and our server Christian was amazing. Can't wait to try more plates at our next visit.

It's definitely a "Phuc NO" instead of Yea. The food has a fusion spin (Peruvian, Cajun, and Viet) that just did not work. I ordered the Cornish hen green curry. Instead of a curry soup, you got yourself some kind of spooned puree with no flavor. They still had good options but the food was extremely over-priced. Vietnamese food is known to be more accessible while still being tasty. The fried chicken bahn mi great crunch and overall flavor. I also ordered the Emperial Rolls, which are pretty much spring rolls. You're supposed to wrap them in lettuce with each bite. For a place that charges so much, you would expect enough lettuce for each bite... but that wasn't the case as there were only 3 pieces of lettuce for the 6 bites it came with. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. It was explained to us that the food comes out when ready so it's fresh. That's no problem. It is a problem when our entire table's food came out (including two tables who sat down after us) except my friend's order of French toast. FRENCH TOAST my friends.... and when she finally said something, they could have just owned up to the mistake and apologized, offered a small discount or something, but instead, they lied to us multiple times. We were first told it was because they were making the whipped cream fresh (I know how to bake and that doesn't take 30+ min). Then the manager came over with a cold attitude stating that their food comes out when ready and this one took longer. I stood up for my friend and explained the other tables who sat after us received their meal as well. She then changed her story saying "Well they probably thought you were having it as a dessert". When I said that's not our fault, she did not care. So what's the story here? Was the food late because they were "making the whipped cream from scratch" which apparently takes longer than putting together multiple bahn mi orders, green curry, and the other two tables pho OR was it late because they thought she was having it for dessert? Anyway, she had to sit there eating her food awkwardly while our whole table was done and ready for the checks. No apology from the manager or good customer service. Our waitress did seem to sincerely apologize, but at first she still was giving the same bs excuses (probably under the direction of the rude manager). This was one of the worst customer service experiences. I hope no one has to endure this. If you decide to go, it's one of those places to check out once and never come back. The ambiance is nice and decor is on point but the food with those prices don't keep you longing for more. If you decide to come here, trust me don't go crazy ordering a bunch of things that are just "okay"... just get the chicken bahn mi. read more

We came based on praise from a friend of mine and Phuc Yeah is an absolute gem! This place is now iconic in my family. Not only is the name fun to say but the food and ambiance is outstanding as well. The place is always busy to try to reserve a table online in advance. We were greeted by an energetic hostess and amazed by the awesome decor within the dining area. It also looked like there where other large party seating areas with other cool decor themes! The food was outstanding. We started with the edamame hummus and it was outstanding. The use of the edamame was a great twist and the tostones chips made the perfect pair. The P.Y. Noodles had an unexpected yet delicious flavor. The oyster sauce gave a nice funk to the noodles that separates this taste from all of the noodles I've had before. Last but not least the FRIED CHICKEN BOHN MI WAS DELICIOUS! The bread was perfectly toasted, the sriracha aioli was a refreshing creamy kick with each bite, the pickled veggies were crisp and added brightness and the fried chicken was outstanding. The fried chicken was juicy, crispy, flavorful and had a extraordinary balance of breading to chicken ratio. This sandwich is an absolute must try. Cool restaurant with interesting food! I went for the Miami spice which seemed like a decent deal compared to their normal prices (a bit steep). We had the edamame hummus with tostones. It was nutty and had nice texture but wouldn't get it again. The shrimp toast was next and might have been my favorite item. So simple but tasty! For an entree I had the quail in a lemongrass curry sauce. It was so flavorful and spicy! It didn't come with rice but I recommend ordering some as a side as it has a lot of sauce. I've lived in Miami for close to a decade now and I've heard about friends trying Phuc Yea and my husband and I decided to try it for ourselves when we had a friend in town. We dined here on a Saturday night, and arrived a few minutes before our reservation to try to find parking. The restaurant has a really small parking lot, all spots were full so we parked about 3 blocks behind the restaurant in a residential area with street parking. We walked in and were seated in an area near the bar and it took about 10-15 minutes for our server to greet us and explain the menu. She provided her suggestions, most of which were in the market price/higher cost things of the menu. The one positive suggestions the server provided was to order 2 dishes per guest at the table to allow you to try various items from the menu. So we ordered a bottle of Rose wine to start ($45), and ordered the Crispy Imperial Roll ($18) to start while we decided on the remaining menu items. What the server said at that point really shocked us though "Well I can put the roll in, but when I come back I'm gonna need the rest of your order so the kitchen doesn't get too backed up". Not sure if the kitchen was getting backed up or not, but there was a better way to put that statement. We also heard this same statement being repeated from our server a few different times to other tables in the area, which made me think this is guidance being given to her by management or the way she was trained. For entrees, we ordered the following: -Braised Oxtail ($26) -PY Noodles ($18) -Millionaire Fried Rice ($28) -Scallops ($32) -Duck Confit ($28) So the server was very descriptive by saying their food was "Modern Vietnamese with Cajun influence". A little strange and pretentious sounding. We love Vietnamese food and have been to everything from hole in the wall establishments to fine dining. I feel like the restaurant is having an identity crisis, because the restaurant is trying to be "cool", and the food was decent, but not great. I would rate the overall restaurant experience as follows: -Food: 3.5 stars -Service: 1 star The server didn't come check on us until 20 minutes after our food was delivered and all of our water glasses went completely empty without being refilled. (Another pet peeve of mine for a nicer restaurant) The overall service staff wasn't friendly as well and kept trying to clear our table and we felt like we weren't welcomed there and were being rushed out. When we got the check, the 20% gratuity was already included (as stated on their menu and website, but I feel the restaurant staff didn't deserve it). I would have asked for a manager to reduce the tip, but I didn't want to create the discussion in front of a friend. But then our friend was asking to put a flat $100 on her credit card to split the check and the server just said a flat "no" and we had to question it and she finally said she could do it, then we put the remaining amount on our credit card. I would expect this level of service from a casual dining restaurant, but not from any restaurant that would charge $300 including tip for a party of 3. And they definitely don't need to have any mentions from the Michelin Guide. read more

Came here with friends before a comedy show at villian theater. It was busy but the wait wasn't too long since we opted to sit at the bar. The food was really good ! The garlic noodles were everything I dreamed of. It's a small place but they use that to their advantage and give it an intimate feel. It was a bit loud but thankfully we aren't a group of talkers. read more
