My own birthday was celebrated there on karaoke night, and it was one of the most amazing and unforgettable nights. We also celebrated my niece's graduation on karaoke night, and it was another incredible evening filled with friends, family, laughter, and great memories. Seeing an employee post something so negative about an event that so many of us genuinely enjoy is disappointing. From the outside looking in, it seems like there's been a big shift in whoever is running these events. I recently attended both karaoke night and ladies' night, and the atmosphere was completely different from what many of us have come to love. FYI, karaoke night *brings people together*. I can't think of a single time we've gone and not had a great night. That's why this post doesn't reflect what 9 Feet Under has always represented to so many of us. If you work there and karaoke night is that terrible *for you*, maybe it's worth asking yourself why that is. Or perhaps this isn't the right environment for you. But please don't portray an event that has created so many positive memories for so many people as something negative, because that's simply not the experience the rest of us have had. So we sat down...and then got told we could only order from the late-night menu. That would've been nice to know before we came in. The A/C either wasn't working or wasn't winning the battle because it was HOT. Our beers came out looking like they were 90% foam. I honestly don't blame the server for that, though. She also had to practically do a squat every time she came to the table because the seating is so low. The biggest issue is that this place doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. Is it a nightclub? A sports bar? A fancy restaurant? Pick one. Right now it's trying to be all of them, and it doesn't really succeed at any. A spork isn't a great spoon or a great fork. Then there was the service. Our server decided to memorize all eight orders instead of writing anything down. We actually started taking bets on whether she'd get it right. She didn't. At least one meal never got put in and had to be remade. By the time it finally came out, everyone else had already finished eating. The food itself was...fine. Not bad, but definitely not worth the hype we got outside. I hope they get everything figured out because opening a new place is tough. People at the bar seemed friendly. They had an interesting shot item called the death shot I believe and it was a strange mixture of Mallort along with some other liquors. I didn't not try it.
