Soo I came to this bar last weekend and again last night for a redemption. I will say that this experience was better than the last. When I came last weekend the vibes were great, it was just extremely packed to the point that everyone was grinding up against each other. Which in that moment I didn't care because I figured it's at capacity and that's normal. Although, I realized when I was leaving the bar that someone had opened my purse and taken my entire wallet. I was bummed because I couldn't continue partying up the night. This led me to message them on Instagram, which was great because they told me to come in and drinks would be on them for the inconvenience. We got to the bar and I spoke with the bouncer and he said to go to the bartenders, that they would direct me to Rensel the bar manager. He was absolutely lovely, provided my friends and I a round of cocktails and told us to look for Sophia for another round. We didn't end up getting another round because we were exhausted from dancing the night away. It was still very nice and accommodating that they did that and we appreciated it. Sophia was very bubbly and attentive as well. Overall, if you are looking for a bar with a disco ball!! This is a cool spot to come to, they have so many different specialty cocktails. They are all delicious and unique! The music is great, the dj really keeps the crowd moving. For parking, there is a lot in the back of the establishment or street parking as well. read more

Nestled between Wynwood and the Design District, the vibrant, retro atmosphere with its dim lighting is perfect for an after dinner night cap or to have a relaxing evening out. Loved the comfortable lounge like seating and scannable menus. The Sylvester has a great happy hour. Great cocktails, wine and beer choices. Looking at the menu, they have interesting cocktails. Seems like they put a spin on the traditional mixtures. Two that stood out to me were the whiskey sour and French martini. Delicious mixtures by bartender Robby. He was attentive and able to answer questions about their cocktail twist. Especially loved that he mentioned their 18% gratuity was already added to the check. I was so excited to come to this venue with my beautiful friend, since she was raving about it all week. We arrived, the line was pretty long but we waited anyway, no big deal we don't know anyone there. When we got to the rope, the security checked our IDs, looked at us weird, told us it'll be a long wait. We said no problem. He then told us to step to the side so he could let a group of 8 in. That's where I got confused because how is it fair you're letting a group of 8 before us, after he said there was a long wait. I'm not that ugly but he made us feel so rejected and very unattractive. We decided to leave without questioning him because we didn't want to cause a scene or come off as rude. But, I feel this was so rude from him & the venue to treat guests this way. read more

Came here w/a group of girlfriends to escape the crazy chaos of the Design District. I'm ashamed to say for being a local I have NEVER stepped foot inside The Sylvester (and I used to go to Prohibition - RIP - quite a bit down the block). I see so many other of my friends review this spot! I literally missed the mark! The whole place is a great laid back, chic, retro vibe wrapped up in a nice bow! I absolutely LOVE that their HH concept is called Rush Hour! And that's what it felt like when we realized we were approaching almost 7PM! I ordered the Gridlock & it was right up my alley! It was only missing my St. Germain top off. If you know me you know what I mean! Pricing is very on point considering some locations in the area and beyond. Would never guess how cute this place is by looking at it from the outside. When you walk in you're transported into a cool retro living room with a lot of little areas to lounge and a long bar. I came with a group of friends and we posted up at the bar. I was first to arrive and by myself and the girl who sat next to me told right away that she loved this bar and it was her fave. So already off to a great start before I even ordered anything. The bartender that greeted me was really nice and went ahead and let me know they were on happy hour and showed me the menu of cocktails. They had a good selection too on the HH menu. She also showed the special themed menu they had for 4th of July which included An open bar from 6-8, in honor of 4th of July. The names of the cocktails are all very Miami and funny. I had the Merge or Die which was like drinking summer in a glass. I really liked it. Our next bartender Robert was awesome and did a great job mixing the open bar drinks for us, if you're looking for great service he's the guy for sure. While we were there the DJ started up and he had great mix of 90s RNB, reggaeton, and classic bops. All in all, this is a great choice to enjoy some quality cocktails and a good vibe. read more

We've been to this bar more times than I can count, and honestly, it's kind of a hit or miss. Some nights, it has been exactly what we were looking for. Others, we've walked in and thought, "Wait... what's going on?" At its best, this place strikes a great balance. The vibe is just right when the crowd is mid-sized, not packed wall to wall, but not awkwardly empty either. The energy feels natural, the drinks are on point (and well-priced for the quality), and the music leans into some solid EDM without trying too hard. I especially love when the DJ keeps the volume at a level where you can still talk, chill, and enjoy the moment without feeling like your ears are under attack. The mix of dance space and comfy seating (couches and big sofa chairs) makes it easy to shift between dancing and just relaxing with your drink. But, like I said, not every night hits. We've shown up to an almost-empty room where the temperature felt like a walk-in freezer. One night the music was all over the place; hip hop, reggaeton, random radio-style house. And it completely killed the vibe. The crowd was much younger that night and the whole place felt chaotic in a way that did not match what we usually come for. Honestly, if I could, I would give this place both a one star and a five star because it somehow manages to earn both depending on the night. Easily one of my favorite bars in Miami. During the day, it's more loung-ey with couches and comfy chairs. Then, at night, it turns into bar with great music and vibes. It's a good in between for a club and a bar (I'm not a fan of clubs). I will say i've never been here and not loved the music and ambiance. Even my friends who are picky about music really enjoy it. In general, they touch on most genres that anyone can enjoy. My only issue and the reason I wouldn't give 5 stars I will say is the drinks are too expensive. For example, I ordered a vodka redbull and paid $27. I understand auto-gratuity is included in most places, but I still think that's excessive for a regular mixed drink. It was a little stuffy when we arrived and as we finished our drink it just about got as humid as it felt outside. Havnt been to this venue in years.. use to go 10yrs ago when it was under a different name. Met friends here for drinks and music and had a great time. There is plenty of seating. the bar is long and the bar tenders are fast and efficient as well as skilled. Thursday Night features Spinster Tracey as well as 2 other DJs. They killed it! Mostly 2000s classic RnB, HipHop, urban pop, and some afrobeats. I ended up extending my meter 2x lol. Would def recommend the Thursday nights. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience here celebrating my birthday. I reserved a table in advance and after being there for about an hour and a half, the general manager approached us and told us we only had 30 minutes left because the table was apparently limited to two hours -- something that was never clearly communicated at the time of reservation. Even the waiter that was helping us through out the night was extremely rude. I explained that it was my birthday, that I had friends who traveled from Orlando to celebrate with me, and that we were more than willing to purchase additional bottles. None of that mattered. We were rushed out and treated as if we were not paying customers. It was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and completely ruined what should have been a special night. Hospitality matters, especially when guests are spending money and celebrating milestones. Unfortunately, this place failed badly. Please do not go to this bar no matter what. I would never go back to this place again and advice anyone to avoid it at all costs especially when celebrating something special. read more

Very cool cocktail bar with great ambiance and some exceptional bartenders. I did what most bartenders probably hate and asked the guy to surprise me with a mezcal drink. The bartender was super enthusiastic and though I can't remember the name of the drink, it was absolutely delicious and was along the lines of a mezcal sour with egg white, citrus, and sage. I'm not usually one for sage, but this worked perfectly with the other ingredients in the cocktail and I was blown away. Cannot recommend this place enough! read more
