This restaurant is so cozy, the happy hour is amazing, the food is so delicious and the service is incredible. Bianca, our server, was so nice and attentive. We came in on a Monday around 6pm and ordered off the happy hour menu. The brussel sprouts were out of this world good! The sauce they put on it is sweet and lightly spicy, and the little bits of bacon were a happy, salty surprise. The beef and chicken empanadas were also delicious. The chicken had tons of cheese, but the beef was my favorite, it was so flavorful! We ordered the pistachio cake with white chocolate ice cream, and raspberry sauce. It was so refreshing and a perfect pairing of flavors. I wish there was a little more cake, but I'm not complaining. I will absolutely be back. And next time, I gotta try their cocktails. read more

We loved Chimba. Initially invited to be guests at a small get together with a dozen of the managers in the Miami office. They don't appear to be big enough to handle a group this large, but they did it! Latin American food that was wonderful. They make a Pulpo Al Olivo that is the cat's pajamas. A great Ribeye empanada and finally, a mouth watering Grilled Branzino. All 10 star, all reasonably priced. The staff were the best. Very professional and very efficient. The service was all over the place, because they did not know who ordered what so it was a question each time a dish arrived at the table. I believe the staff tried hard but it just needs to be more organized when delivering orders. That said I had the Criollo chicken, elote, and a shrimp empanada (not pictured, because I devoured it). On a one day layover in Miami, I decided to see what people recommended to try. I went with Chimba, and it was well worth the uber ride there and back. They have an awesome happy hour menu, where I got a drink, empanadas, and pork y hatacon all for $28 (before tax and tip). The empanadas were crispy, the shrimp with a creamy filling and the beef with olives. The hatacon was my favorite because I love pulled pork and fried plantain. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and I had a great chat with my waiter who immediately pinned me from out of town (lol). They regularly filled water, asked how the food was, and even after dinner while I was waiting for an uber came out to check if I was okay. Came here earlier today for a Miami Spice lunch with a group of close friends. We were very delighted by the drinks, the Miami Spice menu, and the overall ambience. The only reasons why I had to omit a star was because of the parking situation (the lot is tiny, so street parking is your best bet followed by garage parking... but it also didn't help that there was major construction so there was traffic) and the slow service during their shift transition that almost cost my gorl friend to miss her Brightline train. I found a spot that spotlights some of the best dishes in South America and probably one of the best lomo saltados I've had this year. As soon as you walked in, it's as if you stumble upon a Amazonia oasis. They have one of those menus where it's hard to pick a dish because everything is good. We started with their cucumber gimblet because you know I love a good cucumber cocktail and this was absolutely perfect. For our apps we got their GRILLED MOLLEJA, served with bread and we squeezed the lemon and bit into its glory. We also got their CEVICHE NIKKEI which was incredibly ponzu forward and even had crispy calamari. For mains we got their LINGUINI HUANCAINA which if you haven't had huancaina sauce as a pasta you are missing out. The churrasco it came with was super tender. But the dish that will live rent free in my mind is their lomo saltado. What makes this a great lomo saltado? Tender meat, thick cut peppers and onions, crispy fries and a sauce you want to douse all over everything. I wanted to lick the plate clean. We ended with a key lime tres leches which was a lovely version and their flan de Dulce de leche. The restaurant itself is completely gorgeous. However, I felt like the drinks, food, and service missed the mark. The restaurant itself is listed as "Argentine food," but the menu left me confused because it had a lot of other influences too. The menu had items like burrata, pork belly tacos, birria arepa, lomito chimba, etc, which are not necessarily Argentine (I don't think). I understand it's also a general Latin restaurant, but I feel like if you advertise yourself to a specific country, the menu should mostly focus on that. Cutting down on the menu items and focusing on Argentine food would give the restaurant more identity. The food and drinks were good but needed some edits. For food, I ordered the cheese bites and beef empanadas. The cheese balls lacked salt, so they fell flat. I added salt myself, and it definitely made the dish better. The beef empanadas had such an incredibly delicate filling. The pastry's flavor was nice, but the outside looked a little sloppy because of the butter in the dough hitting the deep fryer. The drinks were tasty, but they leaned a little bit more on the sweet side. I think the drinks needed more acid to balance out the sweetness or just re-proportion the ratio of ingredients. For example, I got the Andino 75, but the prosecco overpowered all the other flavors, making it overly sweet. It was supposed to have a rosemary simple syrup, but I could not taste any rosemary, which was surprising because it's a strong flavor. Because of this, the drink tasted one note. A more prominent rosemary flavor would make that drink 10/10. Service definitely needed improvement. The wait staff was not as engaging, and the drinks took a while to come out. I'm not surprised--when there's one bartender during a busy time and when management has as many cocktails on the menu as Chimba has, waits are bound to happen. The restaurant could benefit from honing down the drink list to help speed up service. Overall, the vibe/aesthetic was nice, food and drinks has a lot of potential but needs editing. read more

The menu has a lot of great Latin American food options + lots of drinks (wine, beer, cocktails) Their happy hour menu has a few wines, beers, and cocktails on special. It also has a couple of bites. We ordered a couple of wine glasses, a beer, and a prosecco, along with the elote and broken potatoes. Both happy hour portions were alarmingly small compared to the regular size appetizers and you only save a couple of $. Word of advice - order the regular appetizers, it's worth the price and portion. Now for the star of the show - the spinach gnocchi. Wow! The flavors are amazing. It really is a dish that's outside the box and tastes amazing. A bit crunchy and spicy. My mom ordered a salad and grilled avocado and that was also quite good. For dessert we tried the flan and were a bit underwhelmed but the dulce de leche and coconut bits really added to it. Service was a mixed bag. Our initial server was more attentive than the second server but he left out of nowhere and didn't say "hey this is your new server" so that was quite odd. I came in Saturday night about 7:30pm with my daughter and well the restaurant has no parking so you have to park in the paying garage behind the restaurant or the street. It was empty maybe 3 clients in the restaurant at the time. Music was a bit loud to have a conversation was challenging. We ordered off their regular menu as we were there for an event. For starters we ordered the Argentinian empanada it was good and flavorful but a basic beef empanada also the Chilena empanada now this one hit different super delicious filled with shrimp highly recommended. The Shrimp Tiradito which was in a coconut milk sauce and many spices which gave it an enchanting taste it was very delicious. The Elote I was not a fan of the flavor. Main course I had the Shrimp Chaufa which I was surprised with the portion it was plenty and I took some home. It was delicious, prepared on the spot since it was very hot and full of shrimp loved it. Dessert I was disappointed as they did not have the the Alfajor de Maicena and nothing to replace it for not even offered to so the other 2 choices were either coffee (which is not a dessert) or Flan with dulce the leche(a few dabs on flan and the plate) and coconut sweet crumble to decorate half of the plate. The flan was a basic flan with the specified above nothing special about it. Service we arrived mentioned the event we were there for, the hostess didn't seem thrilled was very dry and not welcoming. Our server Andres was nice but didn't go out of his way to say l, it was wonderful service he came to the table asked if regular water was ok and forgot to bring it until he came to see if we were going to order and we reminded him.
