Went here during the weekday and the energy inside was amazing. Inside is extremely scenic and very welcoming. There's a bar with plenty of seating as well as couches and other furniture to sit as you sip on the delicious cocktails, chow on their fast bites, and listen to live music. There was a rum tasting event happening when we went so in addition to the drinks at the bar we also tried some smooth Venezuelan rum. I spoke with a guest who said she was a regular and that the Negroni, Manhattan and whisky sour were some of her favorites. Everyday there's different drink specials to choose from. The drinks are well mixed and not overly sugary or watered down. I went with the "green light" from their rush hour menu and let me tell you, if you need something cool and refreshing after walking out in the hot sun, then this is the drink to have. The owner, Tim, was also friendly and attentive, along with the staff, making sure everyone was having a good time and enjoying themselves. I can't wait to go back again! read more

Their cocktails are delicious, the bartenders are so nice, and the vibes inside are perfect-cool, Florida kitschy aesthetic with good background music played at just the right volume. It's never as crowded and more chill than big bro, Beaker & Grey. Happy hour cocktail prices are just right. It's Wednesday to Sunday from 5-8. Cocktail prices start at $6 at 5pm and increase $1/hr until 8pm. Pre-COVID, there was a cocktail on their menu that I loved called the Diddy Kong. It's no longer on the menu, but we asked if they could still make it for us and they did their best to try and recreate it. They are currently updating their food menu. I used to live by this bar and would frequent it all the time. Amazing cocktails from mixologist that really know what they're doing. The ambiance is so cute and chic and I have always loved everything about this place. I remember it always being a chill spot to grab drinks. Recently I stopped in for Art Basel weekend (Saturday night) my friends had a table and let me just tell you that it was the most amazing time! Came here for happy hour and was surprised how big the place was. It was empty at 6:30p but seemed to be more of an evening spot anyways. Our drinks were good, as seen in the pic. They had a pool table which was free and a pinball machine which didn't seem to work when I was there. They had a DJ setup in the middle of the space for the evenings, so I'll be there again one night to see what's up. read more

We came here for a nightcap after having dinner nearby. I'd been here a few times when this place was called Bardot, but hadn't returned in more than about 5 years. We arrived, had a seat on one of the comfy couches just inside the front entrance and scanned the QR code to have a look at the menu. As others have said, this is a serious cocktail bar with proper mixologists, but to be honest, there were only 9 "house cocktails" listed on the menu and we weren't particularly thrilled by many of them. I had the Hochata which was quite good, while my husband had the Vaxxed and Waxxed. The mixologists take pride in their craft and it shows. Specialty cocktails are $15 or $16 which is about average for a better Miami area bar. I also enjoyed the vibe of this place. The layout here isn't much different vs. its days as Bardot, but they've moved the pool table to the rear, and the front entrance on Miami Avenue is now used instead of the back door just off the parking lot that had normally always been used by the previous occupants (and their doormen with velvet ropes and stanchions are also, happily, gone). This place still contains some antique furniture, lamps and random items on display which makes it unique and interesting. We'll most likely return, but will maybe give them a chance to rotate some new and different cocktails into the menu first, which may appeal to us more than the current offerings. read more

I had really high expectations for this bar given some IG hype and the fact that a really good bartender used to work here... however, it was a disappointment. To explain, the experience was a by of a rocky landing... I had to try at least 4 cocktails to finally try something that was actually good or outstanding, the previous 3 cocktails were substandard for a cocktail bar. I tried 'Beach Boy' which was the cocktail of the day, it is supposed to be a clarified cocktail, it literally tasted like simple syrup with a splash of ginger ale; too sweet and unbalanced. I told the bartender that it was the case (the cocktail being unbalanced) and he explained it is a new cocktail in the menu; I find it hard to believe that they would launch a new cocktail without perfecting it (not in a cocktail bar), so that was very disappointing. After couple more drinks, found out the Hochata was actually pretty good. The ambience is great, very eclectic decoration. The service was mixed, one of the bartenders (a new girl - unfortunately don't know her name) was pretty nice and understanding. The other guy, was awkward and sort of quiet. read more

A classic local watering hole. You can find me here any night especially on those late nights where I want to dance, vibe, and see some familiar faces. My favorite people are Ice, Matt, and Tim! They always have a great energy and make some of the best cocktails around. Definitely a bar to call home if you live in the neighborhood, but also great to visit if you're visiting and want to have a somewhat chill night. The later you go the more people there will be. I love everything about this place!!! Perfect lounge vibes and delicious drinks and food, what is not to like? It feels like you are in an old Miami living room that happens to have a bar! Big, comfy couches with pillows, as well as comfy chairs and coffee tables that are spread out around the place, all with an eclectic mix of styles, with cute and vintage decor including Flamingo (my absolute favorite) wall paper, black and white photos of old time Miami, and plenty of games to keep you entertained. There is pinball machine, a Foosball table, a pool table and plenty of table top games like Jenga to choose from. They even have a piano! So grab a drink and make your self at home! They offer happy hour Monday through Saturday from 4pm-7pm. There is always a different cocktail of the day as well as a few staple specialty drinks and beers on the HH menu. Prices are great anytime but HH is my favorite time. Bartenders are welcoming and engaging and I love the touch of using giant tweezers to add garnish and straws to your drink! No dirty fingers touching my straw or fruit garnishes! FTW!!! There are plenty of other creative cocktails besides the ones on happy hour menu. Also additional food is listed in the menu (old school flip book photo albums are the menu's). Food is just as delicious as the cocktails. They make a pretty delicious media noche sandwich, but the arepa grilled cheese is my favorite. They have a meat platter and a charcuterie plate as well. I freaking love the Sylvester! From the vibe, to the drinks, to the food - everything here is always five stars. First of all - their happy hour is so legit. It's from 4-8 on Tuesday thru Saturday and they have both drinks for $6, beer and wine for $5, and some snacks for $4. MOVING ON - to important matters, their cocktails. I am obsessed with the Sylvester negroni. It has some sort of coconut campari in it and it takes the profile of the drink to the next level. The ñoooo que frio is also great. To be honest, I have never had anything bad here - and the folks behind the bar will whip something up to your liking should you have trouble figuring out what you want. Not only does this place have great drinks, but the food is bomb.com. I looooove the arepa grilled cheese, their charcuterie board gives me life, and the proper sausage board is delicious as well. I came by last night for a good friend's Birthday Happy Hour, and love the vibe of The Sylvester for either a laid back celebration or as a place to start the night. That they have a few outdoor seats makes it nice even if you're walking around checking out street art. As others have mentioned, the happy hour menu seems a little limited, but when you're with good friends you're a baller and you splurge. Though I started off with their house happy hour wine, looking through the menu I found their "ño que frio" (a homage to Hialeah's most famous store?) nitrogen infused mojito consisting of Bacardi Cuatro, strega, sparkling wine and green apple. The birthday girl enjoyed her "Monkey Jungle" nitrogen infused Irish coffee. As far as bites, I started for the medianoche (minus cucumber) - decently sized and made with Palm Sugar ham. The house mustard gave it a nice tang. Add to that their happy hour fruit jerky and I wasn't hungry anymore. Now, this fruit jerky was a definite improvement over the dried fruit at convenience stores and the end of the cvs aisle. It was served with brown sugar and had a subtly spicy kick as well. We stopped by on a subday night so this place was not busy. They have happy hour from 5-8pm and during happy hour, certain cocktails are at a discounted price starting at $5 at 5pm and then increasing by a dollar every hour until 8pm. We got there during happy hour and had a couple of drinks for $17 (including gratuity) loved our drinks! Service was fast. Wish we could stay back longer and try some more drinks. This place is very fun and drinks are delicious. It's a shame my most recent visit wasn't the best. My recommendation is to get rid of one of your bouncers who worked 2/17/24 who was wearing a red jacket. We had a table and he was extremely rude and overbearing. We were having a good time and changed the very dim mood lighting table light and he came and snatched it from us like we were children. We couldn't recline and put our feet up without him coming by and yelling at us. One of our friends closed his eyes while sitting down and he came by to say WAKE UP. I went to recommend a song to the DJ and the same bouncer refused to answer any of my questions and told me "I don't speak Spanish" while I was speaking perfect English and frankly it has been a while since a blatant racist comment had been made to me and I was shocked. This guy needs to be fired or consider a job in corrections if he wants to act this way. read more

There is no reason this establishment deserves 4.5 stars. The ambiance is fine - purple lights, swinging pendants by the bar. However it was so hot in the room it was uncomfortable. Drinks here will run you about $20-$25 a pop and the martinis are pretty good but in a microscopic coupe glass. Lastly the music... the music....is terrible.
