It is situated in the quaint old small downtown of Elk Grove, and it has a really cool vibe even on the outside. Once inside, I wanted to try one of their coffees and one of their breakfast sandwiches, which I had heard were terrific. I had a large hot latte which was very satisfying. Their roast is robust without being bitter or overpowering. Not the strongest cup of coffee I have ever had, but very good nonetheless. If you prefer more kicked, then I would have them add an extra shot. Off of their Panini menu, I tried a grilled cheese sandwich that I added bacon to. All of the ingredients on the inside of the Panini were terrific, but the star of the show is thick cut sourdough bread. When toasted up as part of being a grilled cheese, it is crunchy and flavorful. A tremendous sandwich. I look forward to returning to try something else on the menu. This is strictly a breakfast and lunch place. They close at 2 PM, however, it is worth making the drive and trying Tule. By the way, the team behind the counter was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They all added to the experience.

That's the first thing I look at. Today I ordered: an iced oat matcha latte with light maple syrup. I get sweetener because if the matcha isn't good, then I'll be drinking sweet milk. Bacon breakfast sandwich and a chocolate banana bread. Location is in old Elk Grove, love the public parking next to the building. Small inside with seating and also has outdoor seating. It's a great place for people to meet up. Breakfast sandwich was good. Love the cheese pull. The banana bread was cold and stale. Only because they forgot about it (busy) and so they didn't warm it up and gave it to me as is. But it's ok. Matcha: Color: it was a good color. Not forest green but a nice green. Umami: none. It was ceremonial grade (as advertised) but a very weak matcha. Natural sweetness: none Balanced bitterness: towards the end of the drink, there's a hint of bitterness. Aftertaste: a hint of seaweed. Overall it's your everyday matcha. It was a good balance between matcha and oat milk. No flavor overpowering each other. And That's why I say it's a good everyday matcha. I'll always order a regular iced matcha latte because I prefer more matcha to dessert matcha .

The people here have honestly been some of the nicest people I've met. When I say this "Sandwich Spot" is the best, well I've been to a few in town and they all kind of miss the mark, but this one doesn't. The bomb sauce is a must and they don't skimp at this location. My two favorite sandwiches are "The Pride" and "The JFK" with bomb sauce on Dutch Crunch. The inside is meaty, saucy and has the right amount of greens. It's been my go to since 2018/2019 for sandwiches if I can catch them when they are opened. Prices haven't really inflated which is nice to see and the inside although small is cozy. Traffic in old town gets pretty bad so the best way to get here is usually from Elk Grove Florin Road the making a left onto Elk Grove Blvd and it'll be on the right side. If you come in from the other direction you may be stuck in the median for a while. The only real downside is the hours during the weekday, so it's best to go during the weekend or if you live close by, visit during lunch during the weekday.

My first impression was how clean and organized the place was, especially compared to most chain grocery stores. They have a huge variety of products shipped in from different parts of the world, and I can only imagine how expensive the shipping and taxes must be for such a neighborhood grocery store. I had the opportunity to speak with the owner, Adam, and he was kind enough to show me around the store. He even educated me on the meaning of the word "Halal," which really made me think twice about where I should source my food and what goes into the products I purchase. It's nice to know that the dessert section is made in house. I had one of their desserts and it's really sweet to my tasting but it wasn't bad at all. Of course, I couldn't leave without trying their food, and WOW! It was packed with flavor! Their fries are so well-seasoned, and the texture is unlike anything I've had before. The outside is crispy without being heavily battered, while the inside has this unique dense-but-light texture. They somehow feel airy and almost melt as you chew them. I honestly couldn't stop eating them, they're addicting! And if you're a garlic person, you NEED to try their garlic sauce. I love the strong hint of garlic, it was so good and paired perfectly with the chicken shawafel wrap. I also tried their chicken shawafel wrap, and it was packed with flavor as well. The falafel is very well seasoned and it was my very first time giving it a try. It was a great first time experience, and I'm so glad I finally decided to stop by.

Second, i asked for water & i believe it was the owner.. he said they don't have any. Two minutes later i ask one of the workers because i see an ice pitcher behind the counter and he said "okay no problem." As the workers filling up the water I notice the owner makes a comment saying "oh you're using the special water" as I'm standing there seeing that all happen. I paid almost $50 for a wrap, chicken strips & fries, and a baklava. Would've not given a review, but with that interaction.. for something simple as water. I had to. Get ready, foodies! There's a new Vietnamese sensation in town, and it's quickly become my obsession. I've been hitting this spot at least once a week, and every single time, the food is nothing short of consistently spectacular, bursting with savory flavors! We love the traditional decor and cleanliness of the place. My absolute must-try? The Bun Bo Hue. Imagine a broth so clean yet incredibly rich, deeply infused with fragrant herbs and spices, cradling perfectly tender, thinly sliced beef. But wait, it gets even better - their house meatballs are a revelation, adding an extra layer of deliciousness that elevates this dish to pure perfection. And whatever you do, do not leave without trying their house egg rolls - they are, without a doubt, the best in town! Crispy, flavorful, and utterly addictive, they're the perfect starter or side. And let's talk about the service: Kate, our server, is not just friendly and attentive; she's practically a mind-reader! The moment I sit down, she's already bringing out all the glorious fixings to make my meal unforgettable. A glass of wine? The ideal finishing touch to this culinary masterpiece. Seriously, you have to try this place! read more

If you're craving authentic Vietnamese flavors that warm the soul, Pholicious is an absolute must! My husband and I stopped in today, and from the very first bite, we knew we found a gem. I had the Pholicious pho -- rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and every bite felt like a warm hug from home. My husband ordered the Bún Bò Huế -- bold, spicy, and absolutely delicious. We shared crispy egg rolls and juicy chicken wings that were so good, we almost ordered seconds! And let's not forget the Vietnamese iced coffee -- strong, smooth, and the perfect sweet finish. But what really sets this place apart is the friendly, welcoming service and the cute, cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
