Stopped in for a late lunch, and had their chicken+rice dish and their refreshing Mixed Fruit Delight drink. Decent and hit the spot - note that on hot days their windows all face the sun and the AC is not very robust, so even with the shades drawn it can feel quite stuffy in the space. Also ordered some staples to go - Yang Chow Fried Rice, Hong Kong Beef Noodles, Sauteed Green Beans. Not bad, but nothing particularly special. I found the green beans were way too salty.
Ordered Doordash because they have BOGO Kung Pao Chicken & Mango Pomelo Sago with Silken Tofu so it was $38 including tax and tip! The Kung Pao Chicken was pretty good. It had a lot of chicken and it was very tender. It had a lot of peanuts, bell peppers, and onions. It was very flavorful not too greasy! The Mango Pomelo Sago with Silken Tofu was decent. The dessert was refreshing but the mango was quite sour and hard. I loved how the dessert wasn't too sweet and the tofu was very soft. Overall, I thought both items were not bad and it was a good deal!
I heard about Phoenix and how they are known for their variety and specialty of desserts and drinks. I have been wanting to try them out. I was in the neighborhood. It was my chance! This place is located at the Baldwin Plaza in the City of Arcadia. It is next door to Chef Tony's Dim Sum. Plaza is not very big so free parking is limited. Get here early! Upon entry, there was only one table of customers. It has adequate inside seating. No outside seating. Interior decor was simple nothing extravagant. The two ladies behind the counter were ready to assist. They weren't the most friendliest, but okay. Since this was my first time here, I asked for a few minutes to peruse the glass of desserts. I ended up getting the Coconut Milk & Taro Custard and 4 Piece Assorted Custard Platter. I liked all of them. Texture was smooth. There was just a smidget of sweetness. I would have preferred them to be a tad bit sweeter. They were all still good though. If I had to pick one as the best, the Coconut Milk & Taro Custard takes home the GOLD! Funny, I had already walked out with the custards. Then I saw a woman come out with a drink in her hand. I went back in to get a couple drinks. Fresh Durian Delight and Mango Pomelo Delight were both very good. Very fruity and light in taste. I love my durian! I would get them again. I shall be coming back to try their other custard flavors and specialty drinks. They also have a full menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I may try their foods as well.

This location is one of the OG locations They open late and still taste pretty great to get your fix. They have wide variety of items. Their chef changed and staff changed but things are still pretty consistent and pricing well, is not great but it's okay for what it is.

It was a hot day and I was in need of shaved ice - my all-time favorite dessert in the summer. Come to think of it, Phoenix was right around the corner and I remembered having shaved ice there before. I went here on a whim, desperately hoping they would and I was in luck! They do, I repeat, Phoenix Food Boutique does have shaved ice! It was the only thing I ordered that night - a Fresh Mango Shaved Ice for $9.95. The Fresh Mango Shaved Ice was everything I had imagined and hoped for. The dessert was packed with a huge amount of mangos. The ice was soft and perfect, which I knew immediately in the first bite that they had a legit shaved ice machine. It was the perfect texture. In this day and age, this $9.95 shaved ice is the best I've ever had all summer, and it's priced very affordably. They portioned it to be the perfect amount for my friend and me to share - we finished it to our liking, but didn't leave feeling overly sweet or heavy. It's the perfect amount to share between two people, but honestly, I loved it so much I could enjoy it all on my own and leave even happier. A big thank you to the sweet ladies who made this for me and saw my happy face eating this. I would come back just for this and the amazing hospitality.
Actually ate lunch at Phoenix. Had the Beef Stew Fried Noodles and a bowl of Sweet Almond Dessert drink. The noodles needed more beef stew and gravy but was large while the dessert was hot, smooth, sweet and almondy. I definitely recommend the desserts and need to taste more savory dishes before coming to a conclusion on the kitchen. The Beef Noodle dish was just ok.

I recently found out that they did delivery via DoorDash so I ordered some food for lunch and it was such a comforting, nostalgic meal! Everything was carefully packaged for delivery and no spills / leaks. Although I cannot speak on the in-person service since I did not dine in, I would say that their careful packaging reflects positively on their service to customers. PARKING : N/A - ordered for delivery via DoorDash FOOD/DRINKS : - wonton noodle soup w/ fish balls - savory soup and meaty wontons, soup packed separately to avoid getting noodles soggy - chicken congee w/ Chinese donuts for dipping - so flavorful and smooth - salt and garlic chicken wings - best eaten fresh! - mango pudding - light yet creamy, real mango chunks! - coffee jello - sweet in the best way -- prominent coffee taste
I went to Phoenix and tried the durian delight and mango delight. Both were really good. The durian one was creamy and flavorful without being too strong, and the mango delight was fresh and sweet. The texture was smooth, and everything tasted well made. Overall, it was a nice treat, and I'd definitely get them again if I'm back in the area.

I'm often disappointed when I order green beans and they tend to be a little soggy because they weren't fried correctly at the right temperature and time. I also really enjoyed their wonton noodle soup, the broth was very clean and flavorful. I will say if you don't speak Chinese you may have a little bit of a difficult time in asking for more specific requests. ( I wanted vinegar but the server struggled to understand me) ordering should be fine because they have basic knowledge on English. Overall a very casual place to grab food, or even work. I saw some people working as well as if it was a cafe.
This review is for the mixed fruit drink only. IT IS SO GOOD. I only get it at Phoenix. I am really sad they closed their other locations. I have to come to Arcadia to get it now. They increased the price to $6.95 now. In this same plaza is Molly Tea, which has a queue and wait to get tea drinks. But Phoenix doesn't have a wait! ;) Credit card accepted They still have the plastic shield from COVID times. read more
I used to really like the durian mochi here and would come specifically for it, but unfortunately my most recent visit was pretty disappointing. I came back the other day and ordered the durian mochi again, but it just didn't seem the same as I remembered. The mochi tasted kind of stale and mushy, so I'm not sure if the quality has gone down or if I just got an older batch. Either way, it wasn't very good this time and was pretty subpar compared to what I've had here before. It's honestly sad because this used to be something I really enjoyed getting here. Hopefully it was just a bad batch, but after this experience I probably won't be coming back for a while. read more
First time going to the Arcadia location (my family usually goes to the one in Alhambra), but this location is great too! We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait. We got our go to drink, the Mixed Fruit Delight which is a refreshing drink with mango, watermelon, and honey chunks along with satisfying sago balls and creamy coconut milk. It's the perfect drink, not too sweet and a balance of being both refreshing and creamy. It's one of my favorite drinks ever. Highly recommend. So far this drink has been consistent at all the locations we've visited. read more

I have only had their desserts here. If you like durian, you will like their durian rolls. They had a new durian roll when I stopped by today and called it Musang king. Tasted about the same as their regular durian rolls. I feel like the roll had more beans (mung beans) than durian though. Roughly $9 for a box with 2 rolls. I still give them 4/5 because they are always nice when I stopped by and give me ice to keep the desserts cool since I have a long ride back after visiting family. read more

I wanted to give it a better review but the congee was thick and I don't like it that way and if I added hot water it would take away the taste. I needed to add chicken broth which defeats the purpose to ordering take out. The fried donut is yummy but quite expensive considering I can get it for much less elsewhere. The pork' and shrimp wonton noodle soup was also Luke warm you would need to heat it up when you get home. It was okay nothing I would crave but we came here because we both had a cold and thought the warm soup would help. Plus it is on the bland side. The place was okay I hate to report. read more
I love this spot and every time I visit SoCal, I have to stop by to get their mango coconut roll. During my recent trip, I stopped by 3 times to taste their dessert. My favorite is always the mango coconut roll, huge portion, mango is super sweet and fresh and very affordable compared to the prices in the Bay Area. I also loved their sweet almond hot dessert, it's smooth and you can taste the fragrance of the almond (also not sweet at all). We also tried the 5 flowers tea and the wonton noodle soup and everything tasted delicious. Service is always fast as we typically do take out. They also have a good size parking lot. read more
Fastest service i've EVER experienced. We ordered around 6 entrees and the first rice dish was out within 3 minutes. And the rest followed very quickly. The soy milk tasted super fresh and the desserts here are not too sweet. The mango sticky rice was barely sweet actually. Overall a great place that closes pretty late. read more

Love this place. Nice help and OPEN LATE. Eat out a lot, but for a great price meal, the "bail fish" dish is amazing. Singapore noodles are great also with a good spice. I call the fish dish..poor people's lobster bite. It's that good and I enjoy it the same as Boston lobster fish bite for 90% cheaper. It's really really really good!!! This place has been consistently good for me for the last 15 years. They have a variety of desserts, drinks, appetizers, noodles and rice dishes. My favorite desserts are their mango shaved ice, assorted Mochi and the sweet pecans. I love to get their fried garlic chicken wings, beef chow fun and stir-fry water spinach with garlic. I also love their fish congee and thousand eggs and shredded meats congee when I have a cold or the flu. It's comfort food! Their pan fried / crispy noodles, wanton noodle soup and fried fish with rice are also delicious. Pretty much everything is good here and that's why they have so many locations and been around for over a dozen years. The ambiance is simple and clean. Service is average: not the most friendly or rude. Parking can be tight at this location. This has been my go-to Cantonese spot for many years. It's very familiar. read more

Just dropped in because being from the South where we have a cultural deficit of Asian restaurants. I was looking for sweet and sour pork. Apparently, this is a highly Americanized "Chinese" dish. This was the first restaurant where I thought I might find the old familiar. Let's just say I might have a new found sweet pork dish to replace the one I was craving. Here they've cut up an entire pork chop or multiple pork chops with a sweet sauce on it. And it was delish ! The other dishes were nice also. It's located in a nice little business plaza in Arcadia. This plaza is jamming with restaurants I am eager to try. One spot down from this restaurant had a line around the curb for its dim sum. I think that's what they were in line for . The Phoenix has a nice comfortable dining area with bakery cases filled with sweets. It was a busy morning with a lot of food app delivery drivers picking up orders. The women working at his morning were extremely pleasant to even the most annoying "Karen" pick up driver. (Side note - You have chosen to be a delivery driver. You have no right to take it out on the people working in any restaurant for the unhinged order some rando made.) This is definitely going into my rotation of restaurants to pick up delicious very authentic Asian dishes both savory and sweet from. It has easy access and ample parking if you want to either come in and eat or pick up to-go. read more

My wife has a strong dislike for garlic and onions. When ordering from the restaurant in Arcadia, I always make a point of requesting no garlic and no onions in all dishes. I say this several times during the conversation, even when I pick up the order. But I didn't open the bag and check. Today (July 6) it happened again. When we called to complain, at 8:35pm, the woman who answered the phone screamed at us and said nothing was wrong with the order. I don't know her name but the company can check who is working now. 12/4/22 Hubby likes mango pudding & this one was placed right in my path. Just left Chef Tony's dimsum place, disappointed that it didn't serve dimsum the traditional way so I bolted. It took a slow hot minute for the busy bees behind the counter (all three of them didn't look up or acknowledge my presence) to say Hi. To me that's just plain rude or showing little respect to a potential patron. But It's no matter, it's only pudding (lol). When one of them finally approached me, I requested for the mango custard/pudding & the coconut taro pudding. I paid & I was on my merry way to the next dimsum adventure. Hubby & I tasted both pudding & agreed that the coconut taro was the better flavor. It was creamy & firm, somewhat smooth I think the taro made a little rough. For 3 small pieces/cubes, I think the price is a little steep ($10 & some change). See photos. read more

Ordered from them on Uber Eats for our Lunar New Year dinner and was not disappointed!! Firstly, our order arrived much faster than anticipated, was 100% accurate, and very neatly packaged! And secondly, the food was really tasty too! We were looking for symbolic foods to celebrate the holiday, and after checking out menus from numerous local spots, Phoenix checked all our boxes! We ordered the Crispy Shrimp Rolls for wealth, the Black Pepper & Basil Fish for prosperity, and the Soy Sauce Noodles for longevity. We also ordered the Tomato & Egg Beef bc it's a family fave and the Silken Tofu with Fresh Mango for dessert! Turned out to be quite the feast as their portions are generous! The Black Pepper & Basil Fish was my fave! The sauce is savory and so flavorful with large chunks of meaty, soft white fish and some flavorful veggies along with a side of rice. The Crispy Shrimp Rolls were a close second fave - a lovely crispy snap to the outside surrounding plump shrimp on the inside - YUM!! The Tomato & Egg Beef is my hubby's fave and he said it was really good too. The Soy Sauce Noodles were just ok - they were pretty dry and got cold super fast but the flavor was decent - however I prob won't get them again. We were feeling adventurous when we ordered and had never heard of Silken Tofu so we took a chance in this new Year of the Tiger!! That Silken Tofu totally ROCKED!! Absolutely loved it!! It's very similar to an egg pudding but comes in a creamy, slightly sweet coconut type of sauce with some tapioca and topped with mango - so excellent!! I loved it for the smooth, silky texture and the perfect level of sweetness! If you don't like your desserts to be over-the-top sweet, this one's for you!! It was lovely! We enjoyed our meal very much and will definitely order from them again! read more

Phoenix is my go to when I am craving some good Chinese food. It's kind of like a reliable homie, who you know will always be there for you! It's open late, has yummy food, an array of options and yummy drinks. It is a tad bit small, but there's usually always seating available! My family and I go to Phoenix often. It's a nice place to agree on when we can't decide what to eat. We all have a favorite dish here, and it's a nice spot to order take out as well. They have a large menu so it's super easy to find something someone would enjoy. Their drinks and desserts are also really good if your just in the mood for something sweet. Our go tos here are usually the beef fried rice, walnut shrimp, korean bbq slice, chow mein/fun and porridge when I'm sick! But there are so many good options here, you just can't go wrong. I'll be back to visit again, whether it's for dessert or a late night dinner! read more
