I've eaten *a lot* of pho and I was shocked at how good this place was. I ordered the large and it was absolutely massive. I will order the small next time. Pho broth was extremely flavorful with lots of roasted onion and beef flavor. The broth was a bit too salty of me, but besides that it was phenomenal. Courteous and prompt service. read more

I was rather ill when I came here. Mostly congested and really needed some Pho to open up the passages. This place was able to do the trick. I won't go as far as saying it's the best pho I have ever had, but it's pretty good. The broth is nice and hot, and flavored richly. I added the plum sauce which is on the table. We also ordered the chicken egg rolls, which is more like a spring roll. They were delicious. Since I'm in Wimberley it's hard to get good Asian food out there. I would be willing to make the drive in for Pho here. Also the waitstaff was extremely pleasant and quick at serving. Prices are between 7-9 for a bowl of pho, which i recommend the smaller serving. Food is pretty average, we had the pho beef and wanton noodle soup, spring rolls, and fried pork egg rolls, and the bad ay beef ribs rice plate. I liked that they have dine in during this time. While there was no one there the food was quick and hot and tasted fresh. I'd definitely come back. Customer service could use a little help but not too bad YL where I wouldn't return. read more

We've eaten here a few times and things have gotten worse after each experience. Positive: Happy that there is an alternative to Pho Thaison which will never ever get another cent of our money. The Pho broth here is pretty decent. Negative: Outside of the Pho, their flavors are super inconsistent. Had a Banh Mi that had to have been some sort of joke. Hardly any meat and super bland. We've ordered a few rice dishes and the only constant thing is that their rice to meat ratio is always off. They give you enough rice for 3 meals and meat for a quarter of a meal. Maybe. I hope they figure it out and get it together. Yeah, it's Kyle, TX, but this area is changing. You can't just get away with mediocre food any more. Pho 99 in Kyle has the best Vietnamese food I have ever tasted! My husband stopped here for a bowl of Pho a few times and I finally had the opportunity to go along. Although I love Pho, I decided to try the Shrimp and Vegetables with Steamed Rice. Very colorful presentation. Smell was exquisite! The sauce was amazing! We also ordered Tofu Spring Rolls for appetizer. Best ever!! Note that the lovely dipping sauce contained peanuts, if that is an issue for you. I loved everything. This is my go to restaurant for a quick dinner pick up before work at the hospital. The food is authentic , the portion generous, the grill meats are always tender. One very important factor for me is that I liked my food spicy and I would ask for their hot chilli paste, amd I would always get the chili paste complimentary. I don't usually write reviews but my previous review on another restaurant where I was charged for a condiment had the owner answering my review that he was sorry that that me being charged for a condiment could actually make me lose my appetite. And for that I would say yes it does if that's how you treat your customers. But here at Pho99, I've been there umpteenth for my dinners and will continue to do so. read more

Went there the following week they opened and it was delicious and affordable. We got an egg roll appetizer, beef pho and fried rice with beef,shrimp and chicken. The food had good flavor and I loved the fact that when I got a Thai tea I could get a second one without being charged twice (which most restaurants charge per glass). The only bad thing was that there was only two waiters and there were a lot of uncleaned tables. But I'm hoping that improves as time goes on. As for the wait for the food it was very quick. I love this lil' place! The staff is great and accommodating. They understand when you need something really simple due to health or upcoming hospital procedures. I think being across from the hospital is why. I needed to order just broths for my Fiance' because he couldn't have anything for a day until after his upcoming surgery. They were really nice and sold me beef and chicken pho broth and wonton broth and when I asked, they seemed like they are familiar with the request. Their boba drinks are great! I've had a few of them. I've also ordered a few of their dishes. Everything is always good! read more

Food is good and portion is large. I ordered the combo fried rice and beef pho. Knocked off the one star because of the knowledge of the servers. Asked for the sauces for the pho and got peanut sauce and soysauce...and there was no plastic forks or spoons. So make sure before you leave you check everything! First time trying this place and I was unimpressed. I had a taste for Thai tea so I choose this place because it was close by. I ordered chicken pad thai and Thai tea. Total = $16 plus dollars. Kind of expensive but I know places are upcharging due to the pandemic. The food was hot but it smelled weird. I mean some Thai food just smells. It tasted okay, meaning I would not order it again. It was edible and I didn't want to waste it. The Thai tea was pasty. I'm not sure if they didn't mix it up well but in every sip I could taste the powder, and that is not something you want in your drink. I took my kid to lunch here because everyone was talking about how great this place is. It is not like Kyle does not have an over abundance of Asian restaurants to choose from. I first tried to call an order in for pickup. The phone rang and went straight to voicemail. When it happened a 3rd time, we decided to go in. I get to the register and place my order. We waited a table while the food was being prepared. The portions were huge from this place. I would have liked a little more beef with my Pad Thai. It was mainly just noodles. My son got the soup. I was impressed that the soup came in separate parts where you could make it yourself, which was nice. I am sure because the place is so new, they are still working out the issues with trying to place phone orders. Came on a night where wait staff training was occurring. Me and my husband were the only ones in the restaurant and came about an hour and a half before closing time. Service was very slow but friendly. Chef did not allow for substitutions on the variety spring roll appetizer as we wanted to switch out the shrimp rolls for chicken rolls, so we just decided to not order them. Our food took a while for it just being the two of us that were there. But it was hot and flavorful. We didn't have any complaints about our food, just hope that next time we can get better service. read more

I called in my order, arrived 12 minutes later to pay for it, went to the restroom, and THAT is when they finally decided to tell me that my order would take 15-20 more minutes because they were out of rice. They originally quoted me 10 minutes on my order. When I told them that this was ridiculous, the brown skinhead looking guy started laughing. They offered no drink, nothing, to compensate, and had noo explanation as to why I it took them 20 minutes to tell me that they had no rice. The meatball pho was pretty bland even after squeezing tons of sriracha in it, it still kind of tasted like dirty water, the spring rolls were mediocre, the banh mi didn't come with any type of sauce or even spicy mayo, it was dry and the tofu was bland... it also took them about fifteen minutes just to bring out the spring rolls... even though there were only 2 other guests in the restaurant..it was over all a bad experience, so do yourself a favor and skip this place.. read more

This place is very good. I highly recommend. The food seems freshly made, very reasonably priced and the customer service is great! The only reason I'm giving a 4 star is because we did have to wait a little long for one of the dishes to come out (as one dish came out by itself) and we also had to wait sometime for the silverware . Online it says they open at 9AM on a Thursday, on the door it says they open at 10AM but upon arrival, we walked into the restaurant at roughly 10:20AM and the worker said they open at 11AM. Well I thought I'd give this place a shot and I doubt I'll be back. I ordered the wings for an appetizer then a few minutes later ordered my pho. The pho came out right away and my appetizer followed after my main course. Not good. The tables in the restaurant were dirty when I came in and never got cleaned. The broth was good but the brisket was bland and very fatty. The wings tasted like the meat was spoiled. I'm not sure what that was about but I informed the waitress and she was helpful and took the wings off which was the right thing to do so for that they get 2 stars. My husband and I are big fans of Vietnamese food. We have been to this restaurant once before in spring of 2021 and ordered take out once or twice. Today we decided to have a sit down lunch and were very impressed with everything this place has to offer. The restaurant appeared to be cleaner and better decorated than our past experience. Our server was absolutely wonderful, polite, attentive and personable... and the food was delish! My husband had the beef with vegetables over crispy noodles and I had a pork vermicelli bowl. My first visit here a couple of months ago, I enjoyed my meal a lot (a rice plate with pork). Service was decent, food quality and taste was good, and prices were pretty low for the amount of food. Tonight we had noodle dishes and a shrimp summer roll. The chicken soup with wontons and pork was pretty terrible. The broth was fine but the wontons were gummy to the point of being inedible. The pork was tough and flavorless. The cold vermicelli dish with hot braised beef and cold raw vegetables was an odd mix. The flavor was ok but not something we would order again. The summer rolls were ok but the peanut sauce was quite dull. The worst was the service. There was one server and she spent the whole time talking to her friend. She sent her (maybe 10 year old) daughter to take orders and serve customers. The kid did ok, but this wasn't a family staffing the restaurant (like the owner's kid), this was hired help. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Friday night, which was surprising, because their competitors in the area are busy. read more

Have never tried this type of food before. Decided to give it a try and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. The egg rolls were cold inside. The dish I ordered was bland and tasted horrible. I told the waitress that I did not like it and she took it back and said she would bring me something else. Then she returned and said her manager would not let her replace it or take it off our bill. My husband and grandchildren didn't like their food either. The rice was clumpy and bland. So needless to say I paid for disgusting food. The waitress was kind and apologetic so I will give them one mercy star but i will never return and intend to tell everyone I know to never go there. read more
