    Beef pho, spring rolls

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! One of the best pho's in Austin. We got the beef pho and pork spring rolls. The pho broth was so rich and flavorful and didn't taste like it had a lot of extra seasoning. The service was also amazing. We came in about 30 minutes to close and the staff was so sweet and accommodating and served us right away. Will definitely be back. 10/10.

We went for dinner on a cold night and this place delivered. The service was fast even though they said there will be a wait. The food was amazing and their pho is very tasty and delicious. Their menu is so good and they have Chinese as well as Vietnamese options. Their prices are very reasonable.

Got some lunch from my favorite oak hill Vietnamese spot! Love these Vietnamese egg rolls so much. I love that you can get a party tray of them! The appetizer has 4 for $7. Usually when you dine in, it comes with some lettuce which is a great pairing, didn't get it with my Togo order but that's okay. I was pleasantly surprised by the extra half of a sub in my order. I always thought a banh mi should not be more than $8 but with the extra portion, I understand why they are priced at $10. Actually a steal if you think about it. My favorite protein for anything Vietnamese is pork. The meat was plentiful and savory. While I was waiting for my order, I saw a mochi fridge that I'd never seen before. It's was interesting to see and definitely made me want one. The restaurant was quite busy on a Tuesday at 1pm. Which makes me so happy for the owner, always love supporting them. Can't wait to be back soon

This is probably just a restaurant you go to when you're too lazy to cook but still want to sit down somewhere (i.e. don't want takeout). They probably also make a killing from their takeout business. Either way, I still think they should invest more into presentation. Also, small note but we were only given one pair of chopsticks - my mom and I wondered if they assumed I didn't know how to use them for being an Asian American young person When both noodle dishes came out, the food was sitting so haphazardly on the odd rectangular plate they chose I started to question if this was gonna be good. I thought my singapore noodles were way too spicy but flavor was still great. My mom had the stir fried noodles and they weren't spicy, had ok flavor, but the noodles looked cut up & not several longer pieces. When the shaken beef came out, that had better presentation but seems to be inconsistent based on photos I saw on Beli. It was also miles better than my dish, makes sense why it's a chef's special. Next time we'll have to try their pho, which is what they are actually known for & what we saw 2 other patrons eating. And maybe also some of the Chinese appetizers they kept tantalizingly showing on the TV.

Wow what a gem! Such an authentic viet spot! Great customer service, our waiter was very attentive and lovely! We got the beef pho and chicken vermicelli. Both were absolutely delicious! So much flavor, each bite was delightful! Would absolutely come again!

We just had dinner at Pho Wok. The stellar reviews are accurate. The food is very good and the portions are generous. These chefs know what's up. The Vietnamese egg rolls and pho are authentic. The orange chicken was crispy (not greasy) and made with a fresh orange rind sauce. Please support this local business. They took a hit because of the road construction, but they are recovering. They're also open for lunch!

New mom pop shop in Oak Hill. Excited to see some more viet spots opening down south. While fairly new they have some kinks to work out so patience is key on wait times. Definitely family ran with folks in the kitchen and the kiddos manning the front. Menu needs to be revamped to be clearer on options as some line items aren't clear. Food is good overall. The vermicelli bowl is fresh, pork is tender, and plentiful ! Fried wontons are a great starter! Pho broth is a tad different but still flavorful. I'll let the phonatics figure it out for themselves.

Beef Pho with rare, brisket and meatballs.
    Kristi R.

The Pho was great, not the biggest fan of the meatball option but the rare steak and brisket with beef broth were on point. Huge portions and enough to have leftovers with an appetizer. We chose the rangoons are an and we' were happy with our choice. The best part of our meal was the server. I wish I had gotten her name but I even asked if she was the owner because I have never seen an employee pay such attention to detail. She was incredibly friendly and quick lunch time service. This is our new go to for Pho.

    House Spring Rolls
    Brittany E.

We were really excited to try a new Vietnamese place that was close to our house. Pho Wok is a cute little spot with friendly servers. They were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed during our meal. We split the House Spring rolls as the appetizer. They were really tasty and came with a good peanut sauce. The interesting thing to us is they didn't have vermicelli in them, but that was okay with us because we love veggies. My boyfriend had the Beef Pho with Rare Steak and Meatballs. The pho broth was clear and had a good balance of ginger and other flavors. I had the Grilled Shrimp Vermicelli. I really loved my dish because it was packed with veggies. The shrimp had a lovely flavor and char on them. The sauce that came with the vermicelli was perfect too. If you like spicy, try the house made chili paste. But go light at first! It's not messing around! I'm sure we'll be back soon for more.

Leading up to it we were pretty excited since we've seen a lot of online buzz about the place Man...we were super disappointed. I immediately knew we made the wrong choice when I ordered a "Banana Old Fashioned" and the only thing "banana" about it was a tiny banana chip that got tossed in a normal old fashioned (no joke, see pics) The prices on each of the items are also way too high for what it is. And the amount of food they give you is like ordering a side dish. You could get better bang for your buck at a food truck, and I'd argue that you can probably get better tasting food at a food truck too It's not even about the amount of food. If the quality was good, the price can be justified, but just because a waiter tells you how to dip your food in the sauces that it comes in, doesn't make it "fancy" You can tell this place loves their fish sauce, cause that's the only flavor you're going to get here Dessert was an absolute joke. Two scoops of blue bell ice cream with fruity pebbles sprinkled on top. Something that also bothered me at the end is that they pass on the credit card fees (3%) onto the customer. It'll say on the receipt. Even fast food restaurants don't do this. Waiters were very nice. Vibes were okay except for the "Valentine's Day" paper menu having a lot of food smeared on from previous diners. It was just another classic "let's charge NYC prices in Austin" type restaurant. Absolutely joke.

Every bite is well balanced with yummy flavors and textures. Leanne was our server and she was awesome. I love when servers describe the dish and recommend how to get the best bite. This is probably because the person who would take your order is actually also making the food in the bank/ Ordered the Beef Rendang, since I wanted to try something that was uniquely Malaysian. The beef was very tender and paired well with the sauce. It also had an unexpected spicy kick to it, but it wasn't overwhelming. Once you get past the set-up, however, Wee's is very, very good. The menu offers Malaysian curries, noodles, satays, snacks, and drinks. I opted for a beef rendang and a Thai green tea. After about 15-20 minutes, Wee emerged to hand me my order. She gave me a warm greeting and seemed invested in me enjoying my meal. And enjoy it I did! Loro is an Asian smokehouse and bar featuring grilled and smoked meats with Southeast Asian and Japanese-inspired sauces, sides, and a bar that boasts craft beer, boozy slushees, and batch cocktails. Parking at this location is a bit of a challenge. They have overflow parking in the back but the spots are really small. We sat at the bar area and worked our way through cocktails, apps, and dessert. We opened a tab and the bar staff takes your order which is convenient, versus how you normally have to order by waiting in line at the bar. The bar staff was extremely busy because they have to make all the cocktails and take the line orders at the bar. They are a master of multitasking. It was $3 martini night on Tuesday, so was excited to sample the four different drink options. lychee martini, Mexican martini, and Lucky Cat cosmo martini. Lychee martini is made with new amsterdam vodka, sake, elderflower, Mexican martini with espolon blanco, olive, yuzu, lime and cosmo with vodka, blood orange, naranja, lime. The lychee was hands down my favorite of the three. We started with the Dip Sampler that included a trifecta of smoked shishito queso, smoked salmon dip and Thai green salsa with the Siete blue corn tortilla chips. We went through the chips quickly and got a second round of wonton chips which I preferred to the Siete chips. Tried the Mango Chamoy frozen Slushee with Siete Chamoy Botana Sauce & Siete Chile Lime Seasoning Rim, passionfruit, Aperol, Sake and Sparkling Wine which was refreshing. All their boozy slushies are $5 during happy hour. Ordered the oak grilled edamame from the happy hour menu and it was a flavor explosion with a dusting of serracha powder, lemon zest and white sesame. For dinner, I ordered my go-to rice bowl with coconut-scented rice, seasonal pickles, thai herbs and steak as the protein. They normally served this with Bavette, but the steak was a bit tough and chewy this time. Finished everything off with cheesecake with five spice crumble, yuzu marmalade for dessert. The vibe at the bar was relaxed and lively without feeling overwhelming, and the collab menu felt creative without trying too hard. The ingredients are very thoughtful for a fully developed flavor profile. Just what I would expect from the culinary minds of Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin. Definitely one of the regulars in my list when craving good cocktails with a casual but elevated food menu.
