My friend had the sweet and sour chicken which looked amazing and was said to be really good and my other friend had the teriyaki chicken which looked even better and was said to be really good. Since moving to Spokane almost a decade ago I have yet to have Pho here. I've had in other larger cities and it's always been "ok" I guess just nothing memorable which is probably why I haven't eaten any here yet. We recently were sick and my usual when sick since being a kid is yummy won ton soup with a real bone stock broth. This time however I was in the mood for something different but still along the same lines. So I decided to try Pho again, finally!! OMG am I glad I did and so glad I picked Pho Van even though there are closer places to me in the Valley. For whatever reason PV menu sounded more appealing. Restaurants really should consider adding better or some kind of description of the dishes, because if you're not familiar it makes it hard to make a choice. This is one reason PV appealed to me, we were ordering delivery and the menu had great details about the dishes. We ordered the won ton and pho tai with beef chow fun and spring rolls with shrimp. Absolutely everything was delicious!! You can tell they use a real stock! The flavors were so fresh with all the sides of mint, sprouts, cilantro, green onions. Omg I just fell in love! This is our second time coming over here. The first time we came was during dinner and it was packed. Thee parking is pretty good. The place is very clean. This time we came during lunch time and it was very nice. I had the house special stir fried egg noodles and it was amazing. The portion was big and the flavor was outstanding. I was full half way through my meal but I couldn't stop eating because it was just so delicious. My husband had the soup and he truly enjoyed it. My mom got #26 which was sweet and sour and almond chicken combo with noodles and again the portion was very big. They have such a variety to choice from. Absolutely delightful! I got the #1 pho and the grilled chicken Bahn Mi. Both were simply delicious! The portions are generous and flavorful. The soup broth was well spiced and aromatic, and the savory Bahn mi brought back memories of Lee's Sandwiches in SoCal. Both items combined were FAR more than I could ever eat in a single sitting (though trust me, my tastebuds were begging for it). These will be dinner, lunch, and dinner again! So we walk in at 8:35 pm there are five tables with food dining in the restaurant, I walk to a table and hear my friend being told, "You can only order to go." I plead to dine in as our homes are a distance away and eating cold food was not appealing. Ten minutes go by with denial, from three different restaurant staff and scowls from other. Of any ours offers, including saying we would help clean up the restaurant. We left and received better service and food at KFC. It has been three years since I dined at this restaurant due to Covid. Also having a memory of being served old soggy, sticky noodles the last time, I had dinner at the location. I thought, give it a try? I don't know why I went back. A HUGE MISTAKE!!! Growing up on Vietnamese food, I had to try some while in Spokane for work. I stopped by Sunday afternoon around 3pm for a late lunch and was surprised that there were so many people. Service is a bit slow, but I am used to this at typical asian restaurants. You just have to wave them down or go up to the counter. Don't be shy! I got the spring rolls and Pho. Spring rolls were alright, but not bad. I like that they have 2 sizes for the Pho so that I can order an appetizer as well and not be super stuffed. I ordered the small size but was really filling. The broth was amazing. That's the only way you judge a vietnamese restaurant. I also got the rice dish with grilled pork, beef and a fried egg to go. Was visiting Spokane and read positive reviews about this place! My allergies were killing me so I figured a nice bowl of pho would help. Pho Van is very nice inside, had a simple and clean contemporary setting. Also decent selection on the menu with vermicelli dishes, pho and come Chinese options (chow mein, rice plates,etc). Prices here are higher than I'm used to paying at a normal pho place in California but still reasonable (about $7-$10 per dish). The Pho Ga was delicious, noodles were cooked perfectly and the broth was savory. Would definitely recommend if you are craving pho while in the area! Wasn't feeling to well and Pho is a go-to cure. I'm spoiled in Seattle so I was hoping to find something comparable. Nailed it. Went during a busy lunch shift, greeted and sat immediately. The Vietnamese coffee was fantastic, Pho was perfect, full of flavor and all the garnishes were fresh. My friend had the almond chicken and fried rice and was also satisfied. $11 for a bowl of pho that below mediocre. Broth was lukewarm which is gross because it needs to warm the noodles, basil, sprouts, etc. Noodles were mushy from being overcooked. The service was sporadic, we were seated right away then waited for a long time for our order to be taken. Food came out quickly, but we never saw our server after that. Those cold winter days and a cup of tea .. this is what it used to be over the years, in India :), but as it was said - "old order changeth yielding place to new" .. the cold evenings have become even colder and the chai has becomea bowl of steaming broth. This is where pho comes in the picture :) .. the aromatic bowl is not just a steaming broth but a full meal in itself. Back in Vietnam it is more of a breakfast than anything else but it makes up for a meal anytime of the day. Went to the Pho Van one cold evening 'to have a bowl of pho' .. well that is kinda obvious :P .. I was checking in on yelp and glazed a review which said that the small bowl is big enough .. and then a few others saying the same thing .. asked for a small chicken one .. and it surely was huge, people might say it is just water :D but when you add the herbs and bean sprouts, it becomes one hell of a portion. Anyway, in this review I wanted to focus on the pho .. The broth was nice and clear, pristine as you would want .. The whole concept revolves around the broth so the idea is to sip the broth as it comes, and immerse yourself in the flavour and aroma .. ideally there should a strong hint of star anise and cinnamon and an underlying hint of cloves and cardamoms and coriander seeds (they usually are tied up in a muslin cloth and immersed in the broth to impart the flavours) .. So, there was this first sip .. AND .. like a few other oriental places I have been to recently it was a bit too sweet for my taste .. and the underlying aroma in the broth was not completely developed. As is often said that a good broth doesn't need any adulteration like mixing of sauces - chilli, hoisin, fish sauce .. just a squeeze of lime, some red chillies .. but I had to balance it out to cut the sweetness, thus with the lime went in chilli sauce and sriracha .. But then, I might be harsh here, comparing with how a pho ideally should be .. considering this bowl of soup, as is, it was good in all ways .. could have developed a bit more of aroma and flavour but it was still good. The only drawback is that they do not have anything for vegetarians (i mean pho) .. there is a tofu pho but the broth is either chicken or beef which is not that vegetarian .. :D Missus asked for a tofu chow-mein, tasted okay but was a bit too greasy, may be it was the oil from fried tofu .. The service was alright, as good as you get in an Asian restaurant (still far better than an Indian one hehe) and the prices are alright as well. Well, to sum it up .. I need to try the beef broth next time as it generally develops more flavours than the chicken one and will update from there. Till then it is - 3.75 for the pho and 3 for the chow mein. read more

We called in 35 mins prior their closing time & informed them that we're almost there. We got there at 9:35 & they told us that they only do take outs instead of dine in. After spending some quality time with my mom at Deaconess awaiting for her scheduled surgery this coming Tuesday, I gave this place a shot, from the many reviews they had. Lets just say i came there three times in one week. We ordered the #11 combo which consisted of Beef ribs/pork/fried egg over rice with their flavorful side sauce three times. What prevented them from getting 5 stars was the fact that they did not have Thai Iced Tea on one of the visits. The location is kinda bad on Division with the median so getting in and out depending on which way your heading can be a nuisance at times Price is really cheap and affordable.
