This place is small. Like 16 tops small. The menu has all of the standard Thai dishes and not much else, which is fine. Service was very good. Food is good. I liked it. We had Thom Ka, chicken satay, and ginger pork. It was all good and we both enjoyed it. I'm not from here. We're in town for a week. So I'm not sure what passes for good Thai here. We have ordered delivery from here several times but this was our first in-person visit. Phonthip is the name of the owner and she is very warm and welcoming. It's a small space but we loved it because we could actually visit. We ordered chicken Pad Thai, peanut sauce (just because we love her take on it), and the special curry noodles that came with a little side of fresh veggies. The Pad Thai was so delicious - best I've had in Spokane. Won't be getting it anywhere else. The curry noodles were also very good. She recommended we try them and we were not disappointed. They were in a pretty special broth. As if we needed dessert, we ordered the mango sticky rice and couldn't stop eating it. So, let's see... next time we go (which will be soon!) I'll order Pad Thai, peanut sauce and mango sticky rice! We've been spoiled with fabulous Thai food in Seattle so we are thrilled to have such a wonderful place here! We love this little restaurant. The service is amazing, the ladies are very kind and accommodating . We've been there a couple of times and I have to say that the drunken noodles are my favorite. The flavor of the curry was wonderful and didn't really care for the size of the potatoes. I wish they would cut them a little smaller. Since our visit, we have picked up a to go order. The fried spring rolls are really tasty and not greasy. I've had the Tom Ka Gai soup twice - very delicious. To anyone who really likes Thai food I encourage you to try this restaurant. I love this place. I've been eating here for the last eight years. The food is always delicious and we are always greeted so warmly. When we bring all the boys we usually eat outside at the picnic table (boys are noisy and messy). The interior is cozy, with a few 4-person tables and a couple 2-person tables. Split the drunken noodles with chicken and green curry with a friend. A couple of my other friends got the Tom yum soup and chicken satay, panang curry, and pineapple fried rice. A few of us wanted it spicy but there was barely any spice. When we asked for more spice to add, we were given sambal. (Most dishes from 11-13 bucks) I ordered pad thai with beef and 5 star spicy. Although it wasn't spicy enough, it was still pretty good! Not too sweet like the bamboo's pad thai. I feel like the portion was smaller than Bangkok thai but it's pretty a decent size for a single person. I always though decent thai food in Spokane is expensive but it doesn't have to be that way anymore! They also have a table outside of the restaurant so you can enjoy the breeze if the weather is nice. They also owns a private parking lots so driving is a no problem! read more

Phonthip Style Thai Restaurant is a little place right along Francis. It's easy to miss keep your eyes open! There is plenty of parking in the back. We stopped by after a long week of work and didn't feel like cooking. We arrived a little bit before 6PM and were the only ones in the restaurant, but by the time we had finished our food the place was packed! It seemed like this was a popular place for take-out as there was about four to five orders placed when we were there. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Sweet and Sour Curry- both delicious. The Pad Thai noodles were a lot smaller than I was used to but still great! The Sweet and Sour curry had a strong tomato flavor. The portions were reasonable given the price and the service was excellent. Even as more and more people came they did not rush us to leave. The condiments offered on the table was only soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce. An addition of some kind of hot sauce would be a plus since it is essential for Asian cuisine! In summation, Phonthip Style Thai Restaurant is a place we would visit again. We would like to try other Thai places in the area but we will keep this place in mind. This was my first time visiting phonthip. It did not disappoint. Just a mom and popp hope I'm the wall Thai restaurant so expectations were high because that's usually how it goes. Service was a little slow but it adds to the charm and it was pretty busy in the right space especially with only three people working during a lunch rush.
