The pho broth is good but they gave me so much noodles I couldn't finish it. They will feed you like you are starving so if you are very hungry and you want pho this is a good place for that. The service was polite and friendly, too :) read more

First off, I just want to warn everyone about this terrible restuarant. 1) Mofos here charge $1.50 for a glass of water. Isn't it free in most restaurants? If they brought out a BOTTLED water then I wouldn't mind. It could be tap/toilet water for all we know. 2) The floor here is always f'in slippery! just the other day a customer slipped and fell into me. Now imagine if a waiter with a tray full of pho slipped and spilled HOT pho all over your back or lap. Can you say lawsuit? 3) I like how viet people are so eco-friendly now a days. As I enter the restaurant, there are tons and tons of newspaper spread open on the floor. Why? Because the floor is mother f'in wet. 4) Go across the street to Pho Thanh Long with the red walls inside. It's cleaner and the floor is dry. Also, the food is must more pleasing. 5) Don't tip because it's in the price of the water. read more

it was shocking to believe there is actually a 24/7 pho restaurant, staff was assertive, friendly, and fast, and the pho was delicious! Highly recommend for a group night out! read more

The bbq pork vermicelli bowl had really tasty meat and egg rolls. The noodles and the rest of the dish was a little bland even with the sauce it comes with. The noodles were a little too dry for my taste. Overall, it wasn't bad for $7 especially when you have the late night munchies. read more

So this is the pho place roomie and I dropped by before experiencing the miracle that IS Tay Ho #4. The one pro I can vouch for is the fact that it's open 24 hours! I would definately prefer to slurp a bowl of pho ga in the midst of a drunken, clubbed-out haze than down 3 greasy tacos or a bacon-wrapped hot dog!! Roomie and I shared, of course, the pho ga and the first thing I noticed was the plate-o-plants. Some leaves were old and yellowish... turn off! Whatever... I'm usually not picky so I shrugged it off. So here came the pho... good-sized bowl, definately enough for 2 girls watching their figures who were about to pig out on the bahn cuon next door. ;P First thing I noticed in the pho were the thick noodles.... even roomie, who's not as big on vietnamese food as I am, was like, "What's wrong with the noodles??" I love my thin vermicelli... it allows me to pretend I'm not downing as many carbs as I probably am. :( Broth was good, chicken was good... did not like the noodles. Kinda a major ingredient in pho. :p Boo. Service was so-so... they were neither rude nor friendly. On a side note however, I refuse to expect or excuse bad service in Little Saigon. I've been in places were the servers are nice... good example is Tay Ho #4 next door... the owners are sweet and happy to please and the servers smiley (seriously ,Tay Ho, what have you done to me..?? I'm plugging you in other reviews!!) read more

This place gets 3 1/2 stars. 4 stars because it's open 24 hours. Minus one star because your order comes out literally within 10 seconds of them taking your order (can't you just imagine it all bubbling and marinating in a giant vat somewhere in the back kitchen?) And half a star because the pho is actually decent enough that I can consume it completely sober and not want to gag. And voila, 3.5 stars. read more

I used to go to this place late nights after I get hammered at the club or what not. Not really safe place and time to be, but hey i was hungry. And for all the peeps who reviewed this place and said the service sucks, all i gotta say is what ya expect from a pho restaurant man.....5 star service???? lol. Don't get all pre-maddona and snobby with a pho restaurant. It's pretty much like a vietnamese McDonalds geez. Anyways, they've been having 50% off chicken pho. I was never a big fan of chicken pho, but daym this place makes it pretty darn good. The broth was up to par with other pho restaurants that specialize in chicken pho. And the price is right on the money. BTW, it's only 50% the chicken pho if you dine in, not take out read more

Late night Pho. 3AM, Drunk, in dire need of Pho. Thank you Pho Thanh, you saved me this past weekend. I wish Irvine had 24 hour Pho, and if they do I wish I knew where it was. Until one surfaces then it looks like this place is where I'll keep coming when every where else is closed. No matter where I go, when I get Pho it has tendon (if they offer it) and this place didn't skimp me on it either! My only gripe is getting lemon instead of a lime, for some reason it irritates me. To leave this review quick and simple... It's Pho, it's late night food, its tasty. Dig in and enjoy. read more

Okay pho, definitely not the best I've had in the area. But the main downside to my visit was the staff being extremely rude when we asked for vegetables with our pho since we are vegetarians. The staff laughed in our face and walked away. Seriously in need of some customer service skills. read more

Based on all the low reviews, I imagine there are many people who don't understand the casual-ness of a pho restaurant. You don't expect a ridiculously attentive server when you are only paying 6$ for a large bowl of pho. You just don't. I've eaten here DOZENS of times, and obviously they do something right. To those who complain about waiting; if you want something, you have to ask for it. This isn't a Ruby's or Cheesecake Factory, and nobody is going to check in to see "how everything tastes." That is the beauty of pho. I understand that concept simply by never being assigned a waiter. If you go into a restaurant and someone introduces him/herself and says that s/he'll be taking care of you, you know that someone is accountable to your satisfaction. Here, at Pho Thanh, you are simply assigned a table (I'm always at table 16) and given some paper place mats. Voila: service! Someone comes back a minute later to ask what you want, and then comes back once more a bit later to deliver your order. THAT is pho. Accept it for what it is. read more

24 hour pho! So clutch. Not the best pho or one I'd go to during normal business hours, but at 3am.... it's f-ing bomb.. It's also 50% off too, so it comes out to be like $4-5 for a bowl of pho! read more

This place just drew the line for me tonight. The lack of English really sucks. After all the detailed and slow speaking to her seemed wasted. They had me down for 4 bowls of large pho when I ordered two. I ordered pot of tea and she gave for 4 cups of water. When I went to pay I discovered that she charged me for 2 teas and 4 cups of water. I said I didn't order the water, I only ordered the tea. She looked at my table and said you drank it didn't you. I said if you put anything on my table we will drink/eat it. She said you drank two and charged me two. So whatever, I left them with zero tip and will not be back. Who won? Certainly not them. Btw, the pho bo has really changed for the worst. No lean beef at all, nothing but fats. All fats and its a pity, we ate only the noodles. This kind of practice will not be accepted in Bolsa, they will soon realize that when their business drop. read more

The whole bowl of "pho" just taste hot water with MSG and sugar. This isn't vietnamese style. Bulshit Never come back read more

Upon walking in, they are pretty attentive in situating you with a table and menu. They don't smile or speak English. They don't refill your drinks, nor do they give out free water. They do charge $.50 for tap water, which is silly. What is sillier is that they don't tell you they charge for tap water. The place is somewhat clean, no sticky pho broth on the floor or tables. Every hanging picture on the wall is slightly crooked. I really don't like the fact that they choose to play top40's radio, some authentic Vietnamese music would be much more appropriate for the decor and atmosphere. I've read from many reviews that customers have frequently found hair or mystery objects in their food, so far that has luckily not been the case for me. I like their pho ga, it's cheap and they give a huge portion of soup, noodles, and white meat chicken. I only order this dish. Thats the only thing I go there for, and the fact that they're always open helps a bit too. Beyond their initial attention to getting you seated and taking your order, their service is heavily lacking. I felt like they were going to spit in my food as soon as I walked in. The place just has that cold vibe to it. Oh and they charge .50 cents for a glass of water! The audacity! I would tip them if they smiled. Simple as that. read more

The pho is amazing. I ordered a plain and simple rare beef brisket pho and every bit of it was delicious. We also ordered egg rolls (Cha Gio) as an appetizer. The egg rolls themselves were good, but I noticed a large piece of dirt clinging to the lettuce that we're supposed to wrap the egg rolls in. Hopefully that was a one time deal. The service was okay. You really have to flag them down if you want anything. My water was rarely refilled, so in my laziness I just commandeered a glass of water from my friend. I'd still go for the cheap and delicious Pho, but that's pretty much my only highlight. read more

3.5 stars Pho is ok, cheap...4-5 dollars for dine in. First time here on Thanksgiving day. Waitress or whatever they call (because they never come check on you if you need something) hardly understand english...I just wanted to know what is the price in red ink means, she answered me in Vietnamese....duh ! Then she yelled out for a man who speaks 10 words of english, I think he's the owner - I like him tho, he tries to give me best of the best service. Stopped by during Tet festival because my normal haunts were closed. But they had the goods! After an ice cold morning paddling in Alamitos Bay, we needed to warm up! The pho broth was really good! And they have ox tail, which is pretty rare to find =) The ox tail was really tender and fresh tasting. Not strong with the Vietnamese spices like other spots, but very good beef flavor. Got hot coffee instead of iced on this chilly morning and it hit the spot! And we got to check out the Tet Parade afterwards =) read more

More of a place to sober up instead of having a nice meal. It's cold in here and the crowd gives me the jitters. There's always a wet floor sign and the floors are literally wet that you have to be careful or else you'd slip and slide all over the place. That's probably from all the drunktards spewing over the restaurant. Not only that, but the men's restroom is a mess. I guess those are the consequences of opening 24 hours. When they first opened about 7 years ago, this joint was very good and clean, but now their standards have lowered. Their portions remain the same, very skimpy, but I'm not looking to eat much at 2 am. I just want to wrap this review up quick and say it's not bad, nor is it good, but to satisfy your midnight craving or get your drunk self of mind to a sober state, I suppose this is one of the few limited places to go to in the area for pho. Lastly, I probably wouldn't visit this restaurant during the day. read more

My family and I went here after we got back from Duke because it was one of the 24 hour pho places around. It was priced just where I like seeing my pho - at $6 for a large bowl. The few Asian places I've seen around Duke have always charged $9+ for a small bowl but we were finally back in the land of Asians. For a 24 hour place, the food was pretty decent. I ordered the bowl with everything. I really liked the noodles because they were cooked to the right firmness. The broth was good after a long day but not too memorable. They put a good amount of meat in the bowl for which I was grateful (my only complaint was that there wasn't enough tripe) and the vegetables were quite fresh. I'd come back another late night when I'm craving pho in the wee hours. read more

I am surprised to see they even have a solid 3 star rating. The only pho in OC I've known so far that opens 24 hours, but I am not coming out there at 4 or 5 to have pho since I'd rather sleep in and enjoy pho at some better places around Little Saigon. Anyway, the pho broth is so bland that I am not even sure it is made for pho. Customer service is crappy. Do not let the 50% fool you because they take out like 50% of what should be in a $6 pho bowl. Do the math! read more

I only come here when I'm having late-night cravings for 50% off pho ga (chicken). It's an awesome deal, and it just hits the spot after a night out (although I'm not ever ridiculously picky after a night out). I've been there at 4 in the morning and it was crazy packed. Service is not the best, but I'm not surprised. Eh. I've never tried anything else there, although it seems it may not be worth it. :/ Cash only! read more

If you're looking for good customer service dont come here. When you get there they won't bother getting up from behind the desk to show you a table (or even clean it for that matter) theyll just point at the tables. If you ask for a fork they'll kind of roll their eyes and come back and throw it on the unclean table. One time I went there and I swear i saw one of the workers clean something off the floor with a rag then use that same rag to clean a table to seat some customers. but if you're looking for some bomb ass late night pho, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. I'm a customer for life. This food is so damn good. read more

Pho Thanh is a good place for pho cravings. I mean those cravings at 4 in the morning, when everything else is closed and you think it's gonna be a mission to find ANYTHING open at this hour... hey guess what? Pho Thanh is open 24hours. Bam. Done deal yo, get in your car, and drive over to get cheap AND I MEAN CHEAP pho. They have had a long running 50% off deal on their beef pho, BUT MAKE SURE TO ASK IF YOUR PARTICULAR PHO GETS THE DEAL. I exclaim that last part because the last time I went with the lady and a couple friends, we all got the special combination, and my lady ordered meatball. Lo' and behold when we go to pay, hers gets charged the full price, while ours are half off. Even though her's is a beef pho too! So double check what you get, because you might get screwed. Also, they charge for water. yeah.... OH AND FINALLY! ORDER SOME EGGROLLS. BOOOOOMB EGGROLLS. you'll be amazed. Trust me. order them. read more

I'll keep this short and simple. This place is really inconsistent with their food and service. I love me some pho tai, and I know when something's not right. Some days the pho tai will be amazing. Other times I wonder If I'm in the same restaurant. There are times when it seems like they were serving me old ingredients. One day I was here, the veggies were old and the meat was rubbery. I've only been here late at night. Mostly between 1-3am. Surprisingly enough, I don't get the club/bar crowd too often. With that said, service is still slow sometimes. A few times that I've been here, they tend to lag on water refills. Unfortunately I like my pho really spicy, so that doesn't help at all. Again, this isn't all the time. Sometimes the service is great. Other times the employees are sitting around talking to each other. I still manage to keep coming back here, which is a mystery to me. Hey, it's decent. read more

I like this place. It's big and clean. It's hard to find a pho place that's spacious and clean. Oh, and it's open 24/7. So 3am pho craving will always go satisfied. The hubby is the pho snob and did mention that their pho broth is different now and that it's not as good. I wouldn't be able to tell you since I like to put a lot of limes in my pho ( I know, it's a bit sacrilegious but that's how i like my pho!). Eh, I still like this place. The parking is never an issue and once again, it's spacious and clean. Really can't beat that in Westminster. read more

Isn't the best place in town to eat pho but the best part about this place is that it is 24/7! This place is the spot to go to for those late night adventures or when you are just craving a midnight snack. This place definitely doesn't disappoint but it definitely doesn't satisfy either. read more

I've been here a few times. The first time I visited; it was late night (a plus). I noticed that some of the patrons were having pho with ox tail. I ordered it and it was OK. I read a couple reviews before visiting a 3rd time and one of the reviewers said that they were charged 25¢ for a glass of water. So to see if this were true, I specifically ask for tap water the last time I visited. I don't remember checking the receipt the time before, but I did this last time and they charged me 50¢ a water; we had 4. Unbelievable! Food is just OK Service sucks (they charge 50¢ for a glass of tap water) Price is just OK (Except for the water!) read more

This place is craptastic. I admit I use to go for 4th meal - well because there was no other place open 24hours! (Besides Banh Mi Che Cali and Lee's Sandwiches - seriously? I don't want a baguette @ 2am most of the time) On numerous occasions there have been fights, brawls, yelling, screaming, drunk incidents, well pretty much you name it, it's happened here I think. I mean come on they have a security guard (also is the host and takes your name down for a table) at the door, I guess they have to make use of him. When the clock strikes after midnight the descendants of the night life appear! If you went to a lounge/bar/club in the local area or on your way back from LA/Hollywood you will most likely run into somebody you just saw moments ago. Well guess what? You NOW see them in regular lighting and to be honest you might cringe at the sight or not? Who knows... So back to the food.... the pho broth is bland, they charge you for water, I once found a bug in my bean sprouts, and I once found hair in my pho. Well.... geee what other bad things could I say about this place? When I think of it, I'll add to the review =) read more

I arrived at this place after a late night of DJing and partying. I was with a friend who was praising this place to me so we decided to check it out. The pho wasn't half bad and the service was mediocre, but being from LA, if I'm ever in the mood for pho, I'd go back there! read more

Pho Thanh gets 4 stars for being open 24 hours, so after the club, or when you're having that craving for pho after throwing down a few drinks, you're always wondering where you can get that craving, and MOST people probably come here! Came here last night around 2pm and the place is packed with people thinking the same. Unfortunately, the 50% off pho ga is no longer offered, but still a solid place to just get pho on! ;) Place is cash only, so remember to bring some dolla dollas read more

The go to place after night out or even just a day of grocery shopping. Pho Thanh is good to me! I love their special bowl with everything. The service isn't too bad, but they only accept cash. This place gets super busy after 12am! The best thing I like about this place is how much meat they give you in a bowl of Pho! Other places they skimp on the meat but they give you a lot more than expected. Come here for late night pho cravings, late night hunger and good noodles! read more

I'm just going to say it: the service sucks. And you know what? I am NOT counting it against them because they are an authentic Vietnamese restaurant and in these restaurants, the people don't give a rat's booty about customer service. In Asian restaurants that cater to a "younger generation," service is ALWAYS key. But not authentic Asian restaurants. Keep that in mind. They remodeled this place and it looks so much better! I ordered the Pho Tai Gan (thin cuts of rare steak and chunks of tendon). They usually put the meat, raw, on a side plate for you to put into the bowl of pho yourself, but they didn't this one time (I don't know why). The meat wasn't tough (a plus) but not soft that the filet mignon they have at Pho Tang Long. The tendon was the softest tendon I have ever had. I hate that chewy crap you can't even gnaw through and swallow that you get at other pho restaurants. This was tendon heaven! I also got the Cha Gio (egg rolls, not spring rolls). It was on the very salty side, but their egg rolls are ALWAYS new. They are always piping hot, so wait at least 10 minutes before you bit into them or at least be very cautious or you'll regret it when your mouth is full of hot steam! Cash only! Bring your leafy greens people! read more

After having bad experience at Pho Thang Long, we decided to try Pho Thanh. This is my first time having 50% Pho. And to be honest, i was impressed. I honestly have no idea why I come back except for the fact they are open 24 hours have decent pho and carry cane juice and centella juice. Used to love the place until I ran into some "interesting" situations I won't go into detail with. If you NEED pho like I do sometimes late at night come through. If you have the opportunity to go somewhere else I would. Cane juice is amazing though. Must give them that. It deserves 2.5 stars not 2 but had to choose one. read more

Late night pho fix. I've been here several times. The food is better than some of the other places that I have been to in the area. One of several that open late at night. Service is ok.
