Located next to Costco in Garden Grove with its own private parking, you may dine in or take out. All take out orders is an additional $1. The broth is adequate and filled to the brim of the plastic container (very generous)! Definitely not savory or rich but when you add the sriracha, hoisen, lime & fresh veggies, it's delicious. The small cooked noodles, you can get cooked or uncooked, were perfectly boiled. It was a HUGE portion, too. The Dac Biet comes with rare beef, brisket, tripe and tendon. There was a lot of meat. This is some legit Westminster pho, for $8 cash only you'll get some of the best pho for the price. Note that it's $8 for a small, which was the perfect size to be full but not stuffed. The greens (Thai basil, lime, bean sprouts) were fresh and plentiful. Each table has a sriracha and hoisin sauce to make your own dipping sauce. The ambiance is pretty casual and there's a free parking lot, although it might get packed during peak eating times. Service was great and what you'd expect from a no-frills pho spot: they take the order fast, bring out waters and don't hover. Bun is a noodle dish w/o soup - 1/3 of the bowl has fresh raw vegs, 1/3 has the soft rice noodles and topped with 1/3 of cooked marinaded tasty protein . Also a small bowl of a salty lite sauce to add or to dip in. As with most restaurants, there are also other flavor enhancers for people who crave stronger taste. Meats were okay - some pieces were not tender. No Ngo Gai and only Thai Basil and No green lime but yellow lemon - two essential pieces to Pho missing for my personal taste. Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (to-go) - fish sauce mix was not as good as other places and they do not include shredded pickled raddish/carrots. Grilled pork was well marinated but were a bit hard compare to other places. Lots of bean sprouts and green lettuce but only a few pieces of thai basil and no mints. The shrimps are small and hard not worth ordering them as extra. Cha Gio was okay. However, I support our older folks (moms and pops age) working here. Last time I was there, I had to leave elderly mom at the table to run to the closest bank which still took me 20 minute round trip. So I was taken here my friend. I'm not very savvy of where to go for the best of Pho or price of Pho. This place is not very far from where they filmed a piece of the fast and the furious. It seems to be a popular dish or bowl. I had it twice with some Thai Tea. Which was really good. The dish comes with some fresh mint leafs, sprouts, pepper and you can add hot sauce to it. You can make it a spicy if you want or leave it the way It is. I chose to doctor it up. Use all three sauces that are at the table. Also added the lime that was given. My first time and my second time I forgot to ask for no onions. But you can fish them out pretty easily. I know I know they are there for flavor. Don't hate on me for it. I get plenty of that already from others. I'm not sure what the etiquette of finishing your bowl is in the Vietnamese culture. But I took my bowl and put it on mouth and drink all the broth that was left. I excuse myself from my friend. And said it was too good to be left behind. My Pharmacy girls don't like to get out of the box to try anything strange so this bowl is perfectly tasty with a generous portion of melt in your mouth tender beef flanks. On hot summer days we would all order Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio which is a bowl cold vermicelli noodles sitting on top of a salad mixed with fresh lettuce, cucumber & bean sprouts. Layered with egg rolls, grilled pork, sautéed green onions, pickled radish & carrots.
