I'm an Italian American who travels extensively around the world, and I have visited Vietnam several times, including many different cities. After dining here today, I can genuinely say that I found the food to be superior to many of the Vietnamese restaurants I have experienced in Vietnam itself. It is obvious that the people here take tremendous pride in the quality of their food. The ingredients were fresh, the produce and meats were excellent, and everything was prepared with great care. The pho was absolutely outstanding and, without question, some of the most flavorful pho I have ever tasted. We ordered Bún Bò Huế and Phở Tái Bò Viên . I'm not going to critique Bún Bò Huế too much since this restaurant specializes in pho. That said, the Bún Bò Huế was pretty decent. It had the characteristic aroma and fragrance you'd expect, although they were fairly subtle and not too strong flavor. Unfortunately, I have to say Pho didn't really stand out compared with many other Pho restaurants around OC. The broth was lacking some depth of flavor and leaned a little sweet for my taste. It wasn't necessarily bad, it just felt like it could be better and more flavorful. I also wasn't a fan of the meatballs. I've reviewed this place before, and I believe I've already given it 5 stars. A good chunk of my family members go here for their $6 bowl of tendon and broth. Haha! They are in their 80s and still think they can consume their collagen through this bowl and wake up looking younger. I must say, they look pretty good for their age. I'm sure it's an Asian thing. I'm just their driver. When I drive them, I eat for free! So of course I love it here. I always get the pork bowl with the egg rolls and noodles. That's a winner. read more

First I will preface this review by saying I LOVE PHO LOVERS. Last night's visit was a miss though. We walked in and were seated immediately. The guys dropped off the veggies and we waited to take our order. Unfortunately for us, several people walked in a little after and they were seated. I made eye contact with one of the guys to take our order but we were ignored. The servers went over to the first table (of the people after us) and took their order. Then I saw they took the order of the 2nd table (people who again, came in after us). Now this is where I realized they were prioritizing the bigger groups. They dropped off the veggies for us first, but either completely forgot about us or wanted to prioritize the other folks (who got their plate of pho veggies after). A 3rd group had come in while they were taking the order of the 1st table, and they had their order taken before us. At this point, there were about 14+ people's orders ahead of us. By the time, guys came over, I asked them (in a nutshell), "Do you guys take orders of the order people come in or do you guys prioritize bigger groups first?" One of them said sorry but honestly, it's not good service when we walked in first and now there are 14+ other orders ahead of us. We left. I ordered the Stir Fried Filet Mignon Pho. It came out within 10 minutes. It was good! The meat was soft and not chewy. The pho broth was tasty. This is a great place for dates or hanging out with friends or family! The parking lot is medium sized so come during nonpeak hours. I recommend this place if you want good pho. read more

Food is uniform I think across all pho lovers locations but to me the customer service is the added touch that differentiates the experience for me. This is my second spot compared to the pho lovers on bolsa, which has the least favorite option for parking because it is too congested down that way. read more

Food and service are good and quick here. The menu got an upgrade and has lots of choices. What they are known for is their pho and that's what I got. The broth is really good. The online ordering is untrustworthy. I placed my order online through yelp, as that is what they have advertised. I paid online and we went to pick up. When we went up to grab our order, the first cashier was extremely rude. I told him I had a pickup, gave him my name and he immediately told me I was lying. I tried to show him my order on my phone and he refused to look at it and literally walked away to the back. My order was $50, so I wanted my food or a refund. A nicer person came out next, but he still started off blaming me, insinuating that I was lying again. This time I pulled my bank statement up, which luckily said the name of the restaurant, and he finally realized he was in the wrong. Turned out the restaurant turned off the online ordering system early, so they never even checked if my order had come in. We watched him turn the iPad on and lo and behold, there was my name and order on the screen. The second person to help did his best to recover the situation. He upsized our portions and offered us some free Tai Tea. After that, I decided a bad review wasn't warranted after all since the second cashier had good customer service and deescalation skills. When we got home and opened the food, my mind changed again. After being called a liar and nearly being scammed out of $50, when we went home to eat this food, it was uncooked. The broth was cold for both soups. Not warm, cold. My boyfriend got the beef noodle soup and all the beef was raw. After spending $50 on a meal that we nearly did not get, we had to go home and cook it all ourselves. The only reason I wanted pho was because I was sick with the flu. Pickup was a lot easier than making a meal at home in my state. Worst pho experience I have ever encountered. I will never come back to this place, which makes me sad, because I was curious how the dine-in atmosphere would be. I am no longer curious and will be sure to explicitly state this place as a definite no, when my friends ask me for pho recommendations. If you're looking for some delicious, warm and cooked food, with good vibes, skip this place. It's not at all worth the cost or public humiliation. read more

I'm not sure why this place is rated so low, because it's an overall great spot for solid pho. It's located in a popular strip mall with plenty of parking, which makes it super accessible. The pho is delicious, and their other dishes are just as good--especially the vegetarian stir-fries and spring rolls. What really stood out to me was the peanut sauce. It's one of the best I've had: super aromatic and well balanced. Most places just mix hoisin sauce with peanut butter, but this one seems to add garlic oil, which gives it such a rich depth of flavor. I feel like I sound like I'm exaggerating but others have said the same in other reviews so I'm not crazy. It was so much so I went to bed at 8pm with a migraine because of the saltiness. Food was good, not bad. This place gets 3 stars primarily because of service. The young men were attentive...though, I noticed our food was shuffled around. I was seated where I was in view of the kitchen entry. Firstly, a young man had already placed a platter of herbs, lime and bean sprouts on our table before we even ordered. Neither party in my group ordered pho, so he takes that platter and walked it over to another table with customers and places it there. Even though the platter wasn't touched by anyone in my party... it was simply unhygienic, another party could have touched that platter prior to us who didn't order pho either, but at this point we could not have known. Then I saw one of the servers place one of our orders at the wrong table, which was touched by another customer before they quickly realized it was not their order. The server did not take the touched food back, but instead walks it over to our booth and places it on the table. Nothing was eaten, but it was clear the rice was shuffled. Then a different server places the sauce for one of the Bun that was ordered in that same booth where one of our dishes was misplaced. When the customer in that booth nods a "no" the server quickly realizes it was meant for my party and delivers it to our table. These young servers need to pay closer attention. I know placing the platter of toppings ahead of time may seem efficient, but it s unhygienic if the customer orders something other than Pho and that platter is passed along until someone does order Pho. I've been to another Pho Lovers, the one right off a freeway exit, and their service was far more better and they practiced better, hygienic services. read more
