Bun Bo Hue/ Hue's spicy beef noodle soup
    Mary-Ann L.

I give this place 4 stars 4 stars for ambiance since the restaurant has good amount of space, well lit. 4 stars for service where they seat you right away. They also give hints of which menu selections were slightly better than others. 4 stars for food variety/menu selection and authenticity in taste; the only reasons why I didn't give 5 stars: - ca phe sua da (iced Vietnamese coffee) wasn't served suggesting way with coffee dripping while you wait and you don't see the condensed milk. It was pre-mixed more like how you get it at boba places! - the caramel fish dish wasn't caramelized enough, it didn't have the deep sweet taste as if it was cooked in a clay pot for hours - the bun bo hue had slices of meat mixed in as if they used the same ingredients for beef pho and just added the bun bo hue broth instead of pho broth. But in the end I finally saw the pig feet/hock part. I saw another customer order the shrimp grilled on sugar cane served with rice paper which you wet in a bowl of water to soften and wrap the shrimp with veggies. That's what I will order next time! I am just slightly disappointed they don't serve banh xeo!!!

Didn't to come here because I was told they are known for their beef rib pho that fall off the bone clay pot. Presentation is pretty nice and the restaurant is clean to eat at. Broth was alright, difficult to eat out of the clay pot when you need to mix everything together so I would advise to take out the beef bone, cut it up on a side dish, and then eat it with the pho when you want to enjoy it after putting in the noodles and slice meat into the clay pot. I would rate it 5/10 I could do without next time. Maybe the reg pho taste better. The vermicelli dish was good, I enjoyed the fried tofu skin, I haven't had it like that before. Would I come back here for this again; prob if I am craving it but it wouldn't be my first choice to eat here.

LOCATION: Small lot for parking and street parking. The space itself is huge! It can fit large groups and there's a separate room for private parties. MENU: Lots of classic Vietnamese dishes and drinks. The menu is quite extensive! FOOD: Pho is solid but their bun rieu is pretty good and highly recommended. SERVICE: Friendly and quick!

The service was great! We were seated immediately upon coming in. The waitress was very quick with our order and got the food out quickly. The food was delicious and tasted fresh and quality ingredients. The restaurant itself had a modern and clean look with plenty of natural light to fill it. Would definitely recommend!

Pho So 1 is a great addition to Quincy! Super large space, clean, and has a modern interior. They have big tables that are great for family gatherings for lunch or dinner. Also have booth seats and regular four person tables available. I enjoy their Bun Rieu and vermicelli bowls. Their bun rieu has great flavor and portion sizes here are generous. I do like their other location better, in Randolph, but this location is a lot more convenient for me. They have a parking lot available and plenty of street parking on Hancock St & School St.

Honestly one of the best pho I had. Service is fast and the pho comes hot and steamy! The broth is so flavorful and a bit greasy BUT that's where the flavor comes from. The ambiance is always casual and and chill. A great spot to relax and get a nice bowl of pho now that the weather is getting colder.

Overall pretty decent Vietnamese food compared to the other ones in Quincy. Viet coffee was a solid 8/10 but definitely could be stronger. Ba me all day baby.

This is one of the better Vietnamese restaurants in Quincy. I've been here twice with large groups with positive experiences. This restaurant is very conveniently located on Hancock Street and has a parking lot right next door that can fit about 20 cars plus street parking. The restaurant is pretty big with lots of tables. There is a private section on the left side of the restaurant that can seat large parties that is partially separated from the rest of the restaurant. Their vermicelli dishes are good, but I find their pho broth to be a bit bland. I recommend the Special Combination Pho or Vermicelli with Shrimp Balls and Grilled Beef. For the pho, you can get the kids to an extra large size. Their menu is very extensive and has about 90 items among their appetizers, special dishes, drinks, soup dishes, and rice dishes. The service here is pretty fast. Usually after we order, the food comes out in 10 minutes or less. The restaurant is very modern inside and has a very clean aesthetic. The bathrooms are clean and they have free Wi-Fi with password. Their prices are on the higher side compared to the traditional Dorchester Vietnamese restaurants, but average for Quincy. The portions were a fair size for the price. Overall, this is one of my go to places for Vietnamese food in Quincy.

I have had Vietnamese all over the country. Now I'm rating this according to the choices I've had in Mass. Was it the best I've ever had? No. Does it have good flavor? Yes! The pho didn't have the depth I like but the flavors were there and it was pretty good. The soup was great. All food flavor was good and would definitely make this place a regular if I lived a bit closer. Even the egg rolls weren't skimp on the meat! I appreciate that.

Delicious, delectable, delightful. The interior was much bigger than expected. Service was good. Food came out quick. Fresh spring rolls (1A. $6.95) were tasty and paired well with the peanut sauce. The vermicelli bowl (76. $16.95) was packed to the top and tasted amazing. So many flavors and so many textures with the crunch of the carrots and daikon with the savory and sweet grilled pork slices and pork meatballs. Overall, a great experience and a great bang for your buck. Left full and satisfied. Definitely would visit again. Highly recommend!

Super relaxed atmosphere and tv's, so it would be a great place to watch a game. Friendly bartender and the fish and chips was good. They also have pizzas that looked great. My friend had a pesto with burrata and she said it was awesome. They also have gluten-free pizza, whihc is good to know. Our table neighbor had the pork chop, which also looked great. They have a small parking lot, which would fill up quickly. We went on a very "off" time, so we were able to park in that lot. Otherwise, you'd need to find street parking.

We were seated right away at a table in the middle of the floor. Told that was best that could be done. Like eating in an aisle. After a few minutes we were asked if we wanted still water or not. Still, we said. Then if we wanted drinks, told her water would be fine. Service started to decline from there. Also no condiments come to the table, but water. We ordered bread and butter and a spice bag, but vegetarian. No bread today ran out. And no plans to bake anymore. We wait close to 25 minutes for our appetizers. Spice bag arrives and I had read rave reviews about this. Open it and its filled with chicken and french fries. Server grabbed it and told us, kitchen error. They would make another, be there in a minute or two. I asked would this show up with our entrees. No, be spaced apart. We waited over 15 minutes, it arrived. Was supposed to have cauliflower, peppers, onions and french fries. There was three pieces of cauliflower and no peppers or onions. What was there was tasty and well spiced. And as soon as we opened the bag and started eating, entrees show up. Fish and chips portions are huge and very nicely fried. Excellent crisp and fantastic steak fries. The Pizza #1, excellent tomatoed base and the crust had a good chew to it. I ordered the Beyond meat lasagna. Huge portion with a green salad and cole slaw. Cole slaw was creamy and very nice. Green salad was fresh but drenched in dressing. My fault should have asked for it on the side. The lasagna was disappointing. No seasoning, no garlic or onions or oregano. It was, I think a British version of lasagna. Ate about half could not eat more. No desserts, but drinks, tea and hot chocolate. Or I did not see it. Server apologized for the timing of the meals, the error with the Spice Bag and the lack of bread. She was sweet. Lots of sports being broadcasted, and a huge long bar. I would come for beer and soccer or football. If I wanted Irish bar food I'd be better going to the Burren. And parking is a challenge. They have a very small lot, we got lucky and found a spot. Hard pass on McGonagle's.

Understanding that we needed our bestie moment, I hopped on Yelp and searched for a "Good Chicken Sandwich" and at the top of the list was Kilroy's. As we were so close we decided to walk over as I could indulge in what the reviews were calling a "must-try!" Kilroy's sits on the side street, however it is super easy to find. The ambiance of the square as a whole puts you in High spirits as the street is lined with local eateries. Upon walking in, the ambiance is super chill and was perfect for bestie time. The design is simple, yet plays on the deep gray of the inside with colored accent lighting. The floor plan is open and presents the high table setup with the black table tops. As it was just us two, and the smaller tables were taken, we decided to sit at the bar. As soon as we were seated we were greeted by the smiling face of MaryKate. MaryKate welcomed us with excitement and truly set the tone for my Kilroy's experience. I told her that it was my first time and I was excited to experience the "5 Star Dive Bar!" We laughed as sge provided us with menus and proceeded to take our drink orders. As an avid Sweet tea drinker, I was hurt that they didn't offer sweet tea, however, MaryKate took a superior customer service approach and told me she could make sure I got my sweet tea... when she arrived back with my drink, her blend of unsweetened tea and simple syrup was spot on and I was in sweet tea bliss!! Scrolling the menu, the sandwich selection made it hard to choose as everything looked amazing. With a good chicken sandwich on the brain, I decided to order The Salem. The Salem consist of Grilled Chicken, Romain, Tomato, Bacon, American Cheese, and Chipotle Mayo on a golden toasted bun. I have One Word...WHOAAAAAAAAAA!!! The grilled chicken was perfectly seasoned and grilled. The chicken was tender, juicy, and had the perfect amount of char on the outside without having compromised the inside. The bacon was meaty and crispy. The level of crisp on the bacon provided as the perfect texture shift as it was layered between the chicken and freshly cut tomato. The chipotle mayo adds a flavor burst that heightens the sandwich and takes it from good to GOOD! However, even with all of that, we count discount the role of the bun. The golden toasted bun seals the deal as the buttery inside glued together all of the flavor profiles, while the soft outside entices you to bite deeper anticipating every layer of the sandwich from top to bottom. Oh yes, this is a chicken sandwich done right. Paired with well seasoned, golden crisp French fries, The Salem is a stand-alone champion as it makes you forget about the fries. LoL! However, the fries are def a main contender in the fight for taste bud attention. Overall, Kilroy's on the Square is my new go-to anytime I'm at my Bestfriends house. The Salem has the sun for now, however, I have my eye on The Wasp for my next visit. . Great food. Great service. Great prices. Great atmosphere. Great experience. Until my best trip to Boston, I'll dream of you, 'The Salem'.
