Pho So 1's food has been consistently delicious, fresh, and in generous amounts. I'm especially fond of their chao (rice porridge) with various meat and/or vegetable toppings to choose from--it's very tasty and easy on the stomach if yours has become more sensitive (perhaps from too much news). All the noodle dishes we've tried (pho, bun/vermicelli, pad thai, and several others) have been delectable, with varied flavorings and a nice balance of meat, fresh vegetables, and sauces. The service is always very polite and kind, although a few servers are a bit newer to English than others. Prices are very reasonable for today's market (I mean REALLY! Have you paid for just a sub sandwich lately?!) Pho So 1 is a large place, so seating has been quick and easy. The music isn't too loud, so you can have a comfortable conversation. So glad they opened a second location in Quincy. This location has a lot more seating with a more modern feel and updated menu. Food was just as good as the Randolph location. We easily found street parking and there is also a parking lot. The only issue I have is that the menu has no numbers like the Randolph menu. I guess they going for a more upscale feel. Have been dining here on and off for over twenty years, food always excellent even if service tends toward inattentive. Excellent price/value and never disappoints on the food. My favorite cabbage salad shared as a starter and then lemongrass stir-fried chicken is a consistent favorite. Even as prices increase in our inflationary economy, still very reasonable. read more

There's many choices for pho but this place has some dishes that are not so common. I have trouble remembering the names of them all as I usually rely on my friends to help describe them but they were all flavorful. Among the dishes were ordered was a fermented fish noodle soup, a curried noodle, a crispy rice clay pot. All the dishes had good flavors and generous portions. I think the fermented fish dish could have used a bit more of the fish flavor but it was still a yummy broth. The crispy rice dish brings back the nostalgia of childhood when you get to eat the scrape the bottom layer of rice off the wok. The staff was friendly and our orders came out in a timely manner. Messed up my takeout order and didn't comp for my meals that I waited for almost an hour on a Monday afternoon. I called in for "Pho Dac Biet" in Vietnamese and ordered other items, nem nuong and com 3 mau. The person who took the order ended up giving me "Pho So 1 To Da Nong" and glad that checked the receipt before I was about to pay. $27.95 +tax for that pho that I didn't even order?! He even managed to explain that there's two types of "pho dac biet", which I have never heard such thing before and tried to imply that it was my fault because I wasn't clear. I was flabbergasted, he must be kidding. I didn't argue and told him to show me the menu and proved him wrong that there is ONE pho dac biet item listed on their entire menu. He didn't say anything and brought some lady over to recheck my order. Bad service with no apology after I pointed it out and instead brought over a woman whom I believe is the owner/Manager. She acted like it wasn't an issue. Management needs improvement and staff needs to study the menu more. Customer service sucks, be prepared to be left waiting at the front door for another 10min when you walk in and mentioned for pick up. Great, clean new restaurant added to Quincy. Unfortunately it has terrible communication and service. My wife placed a pick-up order, ready at 8:05. When we arrived at 8:09, the hostess/front lady couldn't find my order until I showed her my online order receipt. She rushed to the back and returned to tell me "they're packing it". Another 2 mins go by and "2 more minutes". Then I'm left uninformed the next 18 mins, until my "food" comes out. When I got home- I had already forgotten the mishap and was excited to just eat, but instead was disappointed again by opening the bag to someone else's order. Had to drive back again and just requested a refund. An hour wasted. Previously, I have supported this restaurant on their soft opening. My friends and I enjoyed our dishes (pho, bun rieu, and Hu tieu). Service was slow(understandable) but it was weird they sat us with everyone else directly next to each other when there were so many empty tables. Then during our meal, the waitress came to wipe down the table next to us and it reeked heavy cleaning smell - almost lost my appetite. Second visit during their grand opening where they offered free drinks(overly sweet, but that's OK since it's complimentary). I decided to try their $26 Pho and thoroughly loved it that I have raved about it to my friends. However service was nonexistent after we got our food. They gave me 2 rice plates instead and charged me for the total of $43. So I went back and told the lady I am missing my noodles soup. This place is over rated. My sister and brother lives in Quincy and brought me here because they said it a new pho restaurant in town and they wanted to try out the place. We went on their soft opening. The foods are so disappointed. First off, the ice coffee tasted nasty. I ordered the stone pot pho and it cost $27. The most expensive pho I ever have. The broth was bland with no beef flavor. They got the bone stick in the bowl but wasn't cooked tender enough. The meat is still very chewy and hard to bit. Services are very slow. We waited for a hour for the foods to come out and the restaurant wasn't even fully occupied. My brother and his wife got the bun bo hue. And they said it wasn't too tasty either. The soup is too salty and missing lemongrass. My sister have bun mang vit and she said that the bamboo they cooked with tastes weird and the soup smell fishy. My other brother got mi quang and he didn't finish his bowl either. It's an experiences and expensive. We pay $200 bucks in total for the foods and not satisfied. Best pho in Quincy as of 2022 in my vietnamese opinion. Bright interior, nice and spacious. I recommend the pho of course and Nem Cuon (pork spring roll). It is a known fact in dorchester that pho so 1 had one of the best pho back in the day and this place surely doesn't disappoint. I am Vietnamese and I enjoy going to this restaurant simply based on how it feels being there. This place is new so don't expect service to be 100%!! The portions are fairly large with more veggies and carbs than other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. The price point is about $1-$2 dollars more compared to similar Vietnamese restaurants. Nice and clean with a modern feel, the interior is just different from the usual pho restaurants. We ordered the roasted quail which was huge and not over-seasoning. It was juicy and not dried. The special combo appetizer, includes the egg roll, fried shrimp meatballs, fresh spring rolls, and fresh pork patty rolls. There was a meat roll that was wrapped with leaves and lemongrass was most disappointed in the combo but nothing really special about it. The stone pot pho was fancy that you put the meat and noodles in the stone pot yourself. This dish does take some time. I am disappointed they gave me smoked veal instead short rib. The server did not ask me to select smoked veal or short rib. The smoked veal is not good with the pho, it makes the meat overcooked. Special combination pho was great portion for the price, the soup wasn't too salty and oily. Will come back again to try other food. read more

I used to go to the Pho So 1 in Randolph. This is the first time I try this restaurant in Quincy. Overall , the food is great. No complain except the beef on the "Bun Nem Thit Nuong" is a little bit too salty? I could be wrong. My wife ordered a "Bun Bo Hue". It is also very good but it contains pig feet in it which I am not a fan of. However I tried the soup, it was very good! The restaurant is bigger than the one in Randolph. This restaurant will be one of my favorite places to go in Quincy from now on. I want to try more different items from the menu! The restaurant is quite big and newly renovated. It was busy for saturday dinner. The food took quite long and there was a missing order. The food is impressive. The hot stone pot pho has the "wow" factor when it comes. The rice place is generous is portion and the quiche is nicely done. We will definitely come back again. read more

I've come here a couple of times and the food has always been very good. I used to go to their Randolph location but now that they're in Quincy I don't have to go that far anymore. Service for the most part is good. Servers seem friendly but busy. I don't understand why the grilled pork pho doesn't come with a knife and fork set and trying to get a server to bring one after all the food has been dropped off can be tough. I've heard mixed reviews about Pho so 1 for awhile and decided to check it out with my family . The interior design makes it look very clean from the floor to the restrooms. Good A/C and venting system that did not make me smell like food after leaving the restaurant . The staff was enthusiastic and friendly . We ordered a variety of dishes including Pho, bun, rice dishes, and my family enjoyed them all. I especially enjoyed the shaken beef rice and XL Pho special.The broth was fine but the meat was perfectly cooked. It was an overall great experience. The broth was very bland and slice of liver had a funky smell. My parents got the bun mang vit which traditionally should have dried bamboo. They used those yellow pickled bamboo shoots instead.
