While they seat and serve even large parties (I've visited with up to 12 people on a regular basis) with impressive speed, the quality of their food simply is not what it used to be. On this most recent visit I ordered a Pork Bahn Mi. The pork had absolute zero char, which I believe is integral to the sweet and savory char-grilled flavor promised in the menu description. As a result, the meat tasted as if it were stewed in an overcrowded pan leading to a rubbery texture. At a previous visit my baguette was also soaked and soggy, as if the pickled vegetables hadn't been drained before being added to the sandwich, then left to sit before service. I used to regularly order their pho, but have moved away from doing so as it tastes very average. On one hand their broth is consistent and does the job, especially if you are in a rush, but on the other hand is has no notable characteristics to speak of. Its aromatic blend doesn't particularly stand out and the broth doesn't have the deep flavor I would expect from Southern-style pho. The staff is always helpful and accommodating to the large parties I visit with. They always look busy, though not in a way that bothers me, and it's easy to see why when you consider the rapid speed that they serve food and clear tables. Overall, Pho Ben does the job for a quick bite of Vietnamese food. Even with larger parties, I've never had to wait longer than ~15 minutes for a table, and once seated, food typically arrives in ~10 minutes. However, due to its declining quality, it has fallen off my list of go-to spots in Sugar Land.

I honestly wasn't expecting to find another pho place that I'd like this much, but Pho Saigon definitely surprised me. It's one of those places that makes you wonder why you didn't try it sooner. The restaurant was very clean and had plenty of seating, which I appreciated since we came as a family. It felt comfortable and wasn't cramped. The staff was also great, everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and checked on us just the right amount. My husband ordered the #22, I got the #20, and our son ordered from the kids' menu. Everything came out fresh and piping hot. The first thing I noticed was the broth. It was so flavorful but still had that clean, comforting taste that a good pho should have. It wasn't overly salty or greasy, and I found myself finishing every last spoonful. The portions were generous, and all the ingredients tasted fresh. Our son enjoyed his meal too, which is always a win when eating out with kids. Overall, we had a really enjoyable experience. Between the delicious food, friendly service, and clean, spacious dining area, this is definitely a place we'll be coming back to. If you're looking for good pho, I definitely recommend giving Pho Saigon a try! read more

Not a good experience. I ordered pho with an extra side of beef. Well they brought the beef on the side instead of an extra side of beef . Not a big deal. Then I asked for a side of beef. Well that took a while. I had to ask for it again after 5 min or so. The waitress forgot. Once I got it which took another 5 minutes maybe longer...I put it in my soup. By this time my kids had finished eating and my soup was cold. So I asked for some hot broth to warm up my soup. Well that took forever. I got tired of waiting so So I asked for my check paid and just left. I didn't even get to eat. And no I did not leave a tip. The server had the nerve to ask "no tip?" Most likely will not go back nor will I recommend it. read more
