The best pho place I've had in Austin so far! It feels and tastes like good authentic Vietnamese food. Lets just it HITS!

I was dragged here by my boyfriend, and that is no exaggeration; I am not usually a fan of the more "out there" places he and his Dad really enjoy; but they went here one weekend when his Dad came to visit and afterwards he just simply dragged me here. I'm so glad he did. The service is fast and while I've only had two things, a beef pho and a pork dish (I can't for the life of me remember what it's called!) it has already become one of my favorite places to go eat. It's fast, cheap, and delicious! read more

They may get busy but their services does not flake at all especially during busy hours. If you can't tolerate too much MSG, don't do it. If you order Pho, ask them to put the raw meat on a separate plate so you could add to the hot bowl of Pho. Price wise it's cheap for me and good portions as well. read more

I've been on a pho-craving binge lately, and maybe my expectations were too high coming here. But I knew this place got rave reviews, by friends and randoms, so I was expecting some good, good broth. And it was pretty mediocre. Disappointing! I was hoping that, because we were in the "Austin Chinatown", we'd get to experience the very best of authentic Asian cuisine. Unfortunately, this place ranks at the bottom of my list of the 5 or so local Pho places that I've tried. Maybe I made the mistake of ordering the Chicken Pho? It was very bland and fairly watery. I did like the large amount of chicken I got - some places skimp on the meat. I always order this at every Pho restaurant and I'm usually pleased with what I get, so I was somewhat saddened that this wasn't very good. I only could finish about half of my small bowl before I gave up...not even excess sriracha and hoisin sauce could make it better. My partner loved his traditional beef pho, so maybe it's just the chicken that is sub-par. When we come to this shopping center again, I'll give this place another try...but I'll steer clear of the chicken pho, pho sure. read more

Probably my favorite Vietnamese restaurant! I try and eat at other and newer restaurants to see if anything can compare or even surpass and nothing compares so far. It gets extra crowded during lunch time and even so, the service seems to be pretty decent. Love the pho tai bo vien (round eye steak and meatballs), tai on the side, but the broth looks really oily, but who complains about that these days..? Also love the grilled pork and eggroll vermicelli, they just need to give me extra nuoc mam! Om nom nom. Also a huge fan of the limeade/lemonade. read more

PHO PERFECTION. ok, your fresh off the boat vietnamese friend may disagree with that emphatic statement and argue something about "authenticity", but this is my favorite place ever for that hangover fix. the interior is bright, open and you're greeted by the smell of the amazing broth when you open the door. the service is crazy fast. if i ever saw a perfect bowl of pho this is it. the bowls are humongo, especially for a small. the broth is perfect and not too oily, noodles are usually cooked just right, and there is a generous helping of your brisket/eye round steak/tendon. now, i normally judge if i like a pho joint by the quality of the tendon, bc it varies a lot. none of that gooey overcooked mess here, only perfectly sized, firm and delicious. i usually can't function after a night on 6 without this in my stomach. do yourself a favor and order pho #17, extra tendon on the side. YUM. read more

If they did nothing other than serve the cha gio (Vietnamese egg rolls), they would deserve the four-star rating. The egg rolls are sublime, a perfect mix of savory and crunchy, overstuffed with pork, shrimp, and crab meat and chopped vegetables. Every time I go, I contemplating just ordering a few rounds of these and making a meal out of egg rolls. I usually only go for the bun, as I'm not much of a fan of pho, and that's always the perfect summer food, a wonderful bowl of noodles, tangy fish sauce, and crisp tasty vegetables. There are fancier Vietnamese restaurants in town, but few that are as consistently solid as this place. Highly recommended. I only deduct one star because sometimes service is a bit on the sloppy side, with tables that haven't been wiped down well enough. I was there once when one of our party had a glass of ice water dumped into his lap by the server, who didn't seem to offer much in the way of acknowledgement or apology. read more

The worst pho in all of texas. I have been every where in texas and I love the food there. I think Texas has the best viet food in the US. Yes, it's better than cali or northwest. Northeast is just downright awful. This place made a dent in my believe about viet food. Pho broth tasted nothing like pho, no pho flavor from the spices or beef broth. I will definitely avoid this place and go somewhere else next time Im in Austin to restore my faith. Service is not great, but im always forgiving when the food is good. People complain about servers not friendly or attentive in fast food viet (food is fast, but not the fast food crap) restaurants always make me laugh. read more

We dined here on a weekday for lunch- there were a lot of people eating but no wait. We ordered pho which came out about 5-7 minutes after we ordered. The food was great! The staff were nice. No real complaints. We all enjoyed our food and would come back. read more

Pho Saigon - Vietnamese Near Me - Austin, Texas

I have been here 3 times now. The food for the most part is awesome! The pork chops are perfect. The pho comes with plenty of veggies. One need only to order the small pho as it is quite a large serving. I was very disappointed in the tea, both Green and Jasmine. They were tasteless. And although 2 people were sharing one of the teas, no offer to refill the pot was made. There was a spring roll we ordered that was very disappointing. On the menu it said it had mint in it. When it was served there was not mint. I asked about it and the service person said that it was not supposed to have mint. I showed them the menu and they acknowledged it. No offer was made to exchange or credit it for us. The restaurant and its bathrooms are very clean. read more

I think what impressed me the most was the speed in which our food was brought out. There is no way they could have had it sitting there ready to rock, cuz it was prepared fresh. But jeez-sus it was fast. There were about 25 kinds of Pho, and while our servers English was limited she was able to help me narrow down what kind of meat I would like. Went for flank and meatballs since I'd never had meatballs. They were interesting. They were poached in the broth so a little pale and sad looking. But the flavor and texture were good - I think it was pork mixed with something. The small Pho was huge and came with what basically was a giant salad of goodies you could mix in. No cilantro though, which was surprising. Maybe they were out? :( I ordered an iced coffee which actually never came. Was too busy with the Pho to care. But I did finally request it after our meal, and after it brewed at the table (still fascinates me every time), I took it to go and had it the next day. I would have liked the ambiance better if it were lunchtime. Otherwise it's really (too) bright, at least half the place is windows to the outside parking lot/shopping center, and there are TVs everywhere. You don't go here to cozy up with some yummy soup and a date. You go here for fast, fresh food. WARNING! TMI: Had to minus another star because the next morning I had some intestinal drama. I haven't had pasta/noodles in like two months, so maybe that's it. Or maybe it was the meat(meatballs)? Who knows. But figured it was worth mentioning.I would still give this place another shot, cuz it was that tasty. read more

I've had plenty of beef pho, but I've never tried chicken pho, so I came here to try a bowl. My small bowl of white chicken pho was enormous, and came out literally 4 minutes after I ordered it. (But when you think about it, they probably make a huge batch of the broth and just add the noodles and meat when it's ordered.) It was good, but it wasn't.. special. I mean, it was a good, hot, chicken-y broth with the typical veggies and herbs, but I didn't get a rich depth of flavor or anything to elevate it above a one-note flavor. The chicken was also a little overcooked, so it was kind of tough, but maybe that's how all chicken pho is? Seeing as how this was my first bowl of chicken pho, I would have given this dish the benefit of the doubt and given it 4 stars except for the discrepancy between the price on their online menu and price on their actual menu ($2, give or take). Don't get me wrong, $6 is not by any means expensive for a bowl of pho, but restaurants should keep their online menus updated and accurate. Otherwise, that's just plain misleading! When I walk by this place on my Sunday trips to Chinatown, it's always PACKED, so don't be deterred from trying it. It wouldn't have so much business if the food sucked. Maybe I'm just not a chicken pho kind of girl. read more

Best pho place in Austin! Fast service, but not great service. Sometimes they'll come over and refill the sriracha or hoisen sauce while you're eating. Just remember you're in Chinatown, and you're not tipping a fortune. I like the pho tai or bun bo hue. Spring rolls and vermicelli are good as well. Try their dessert with the coconut milk, jelly, red bean!! (don't know what it's called but it's yummy) read more

I was introduced to Pho Saigon by two good friends (both Vietnamese) and REALLY dug this place. The pho was hot, spicy, full of flavor and made quickly. We ordered some spring rolls too, and they were delicious. I eat Pho about once a week, so i am being a little critical here, but my only concern was the layout. It is a BIG restaurant with a lot of floor space to cover. At lunch time, there were 6 of us total, so we barely fit at a table. Because it was busy, they weren't able to rearrange the tables much so it was a tight fit. Overall, everyone here was very friendly and the Pho is great, and I would recommend this place. It still isn't my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in town, but I will definitely come back. I may bump up to a 5 star, then! read more

This is my current #1 pho place in Austin. You can smell the yummy food from the parking lot and the always-crowded scene is another plus point that you are entering a good restaurant. I usually go there during lunch time but never have to wait for the table though it was rush hour. The menu has great selection of pho, vemicelli, porkchop rice, etc., price is standard and the portion is generous. I love eating pho there because round steak usually comes out perfectly pink and fresh and the soup is tasty. The staff service is fast and efficient, that's perhaps the reason why they never make anyone wait for table. Oh by the way, you don't have to worry about bringing cash, this might be one of the reasons why I like this place better. read more

Coming from Dallas I have a much higher expectation for a Pho place. With that being said this place is still my most visited Pho place. I always get their Pho Tai Sac or Bun Thit Nuong. Service is pretty fast. Management did a really job making sure each customer is served properly. The restaraunt can fit quite an amount of people. The scattered tables make it very easy for both big and small parties to fit in comfortably. read more

Mm yum. I just went yesterday for a #18 bowl and I want to go back and slurp some more today. The beef broth is clear, salty and full of flavour. The beef however was a bit chewy especially the brisket and the tendon.i love beef tendon when it has been stewed for a long time and is soft. I will definitely go again, next time with my family. read more

The pho was legit. Fast service, fair portions and tasty broth. I don't have much else to say. =) read more

Yum!!! I'm no pho expert, but my bowl of white meat chicken pho was delicious. I ordered the small bowl because I saw the larges and knew I could never eat that much. I was correct. I ate about 1/3 of my soup and brought the rest home, and am so excited to have it for lunch tomorrow. One thing to take note of: the paying process is a little strange. You don't get a check, you just go up to the counter and tell them your table number (you'll see it at your table). Very reasonably priced! Can't wait to come back!! read more

Best pho 'experience' in Austin and second best pho. The restaurant seems pretty professional compared to some pho places I have been. Sometimes you do have to wave to grab a waiter's attention. Most importantly they have fountain sodas!!!! Their springs rolls with barbecued pork are excellent. The pho always comes out fast and piping hot. I have never really had a bad experience with it. FYI you can ask for chili oil to put in it to make it spicier. My friends are big fans of the vermicelli which is cold noodles/vegetables with freshly barbecued hot meat and fish sauce (sweet, fishy sauce that comes on the side - tasty). I think it's the best vermicelli I've tried around here. You pay up at the front and we generally leave a couple dollars for tip on the table. read more

It's been cold so I've been craving pho. The place is large and lots of lunch customers on a week day. We got there around 11:30 but by noon, the place had a line. Food was fast. Had spring rolls and pho. Spring rolls were OK, not as fresh as their near by competiton Pho Dan. The pho had lots of meat and tasty. But after a few bites, I noticed how salty it was. The servers never came back to check on us. Guess that's pretty common. But I would have liked to have the bill. Went up to the counter and paid. Overall, it's OK and would eat there again. But Pho Dan is better. read more

"It's so good, you can't eat it standing up. Your knees will buckle." - Jerry Seinfeld, Soup Nazi Episode That pretty much sums up my experience at Pho Saigon. Back on another business trip in Austin, and of course I had to hit up the Chinatown area again. Last time I was here I only went to Pho Don (sp?), and it was your typical average vietnamese fair. But never have I ever experienced Pho Nirvana until today. Let me break it down for you: Meat - Like they slaughtered the cow in the back, cleaned it, and dumped it in my soup - SOOO FRESSHHHH Meatball - They killed the cow, then made me 4 meatballs out of it....so freshhhh! Soup - plenty of cilantro, onions, and exploding with flavor Noodles - so soft and tender, like they made it from scratch. Ok, so probably none of the above is true, but it is still the best pho i ever had. I had my share of pho, being from Chicago with a huge Viet population and many many Viet restaurants. But the best I ever had has been found in Austin...shocking, but true. Now go get yourself a bowl of awesome!!!! read more

Ok, so let me get this out of the way: I don't really eat pho, I'm a bun man, it's what I've devoted my time and energy to, and what I come here for. Bun is different at every restaurant, the way the meat is cooked, the balance of ingredients and the amount of seasoning going on (if any) varies from place to place. I like Pho Saigon because it is amongst the freshest and least messed with bun I've had. They know that the quality and freshness of their ingredients makes the dish, and they know not to make it more complicated than it needs to be. And the bun is huge, you will not go unsatisfied, nor will you feel guilty for having eaten it all because bun is truly one of the few guiltless eating experiences on earth, again due to the simplicity of the ingredients. They get very busy at lunch, so try to go a little early or a little late. read more

My husband and I love this place. We can both get full for under $10. It is a very large dining area which gets pretty packed during the lunch hour. Service is super fast. The food is plentiful and good quality. There are also vegetarian options. I recommend it to anyone who likes a BIG bowl of noodles. Their spring rolls are super tasty too. You just cannot go wrong here. read more

This is the biggest pho place I've ever seen, and it's pretty clean too. Their broth is not that good because there's no cilantro. But they're very generous with the meat. And noodles. And everything really - the bowls are huge (even the "small")! Come hungry! read more

My friends, family and I eat here when we feel like we need to go to an oriental food place where food isn't greasy or dry and unhealthy. When I think about pho, and pretty much when you do likewise, the broth is what you have to consider for all things regarding quality, complexity, and character. The broth is the pivot point. Sort of like a flagship beer makes or breaks a brewery; see Fireman's #4, Real Ale's award-winning beer that has kept it going for 15 years. In the same fashion, I am going to walk you through the broth in a way that is comparable to judging a beer. Aside from the meaty soup-like, beverage-esque-drinkability broth, they are attentive, semi-clean, and pretty much a typical Pho joint. But they do have an enormous amount of seating. They don't skimp on the optional soup additions. Everyone gets a hefty portion of the beansprout, basil, and jalapeno mix. Oh, and limes. Unfortunately, the eggrolls are not short and chubby, but rather like a long shaft. Yikes; did I just say that? So the beer. I mean pho: It had a great body, just heavy enough to constitute the bowl of noodles as a meal. Going deeper, the oily character was spot on. It coated your mouth, but not so much as to make you desire a gallon of water for the rest of the day. You know that feeling? Additionally, the large bowl boats a ridiculous amount of meat and noodles. I would not want it any other way. Great aroma, to boot. Pho Saigon Noodle House has the typical name, typical feel, and unextraordinary grub. But how can you truly elevate Pho? It doesn't get MUCH butter than PSNH. Then again, like beer, there is abundance of beer in the world. Even in this Chinese business park, you have 4-5 Vietnamese noodle soup joints. read more

The place is always alive. Lots of tvs showing big games. Nice, loud place full of chatter makes it comfortable. The rice with chargrilled pork and eggroll is the best. Having eaten at numerous Vietnamese restaurants from Austin to Dallas, this one tops them all. They give the most meat and the tastiest. The service isn't super friendly (Vietnamese are notorious for slow and rude service anyway), but it's quick. You can be in and out in thirty minutes flat. read more

The pho here is sometimes inconsistant. And the plate of condiments (bean sprouts, basil, ect..) is sometimes not fresh. Wilting bean sprouts and dried out lime. I prefer Pho Dan over Pho Saigon. The bbq pork plate is always solid. Spring rolls are okay, not spectacular. The sauce that comes with it is more of a soy sauce with peanut flavoring. The service is all right. read more

They make their vermicelli noodles in house. That alone should sell you on the place. This is the first time I've seen homemade noodles outside of West Coast Vietnamese restaurants. The #59 in addition to having the money noodles had wonderfully marinated lemongrass beef. Go. Try it. Your tummy will thank you. read more

My sister comes for the meat, I come for the tofu. We both get coffee on our way out and leave happy. That summary says a lot. Ratings: Service: 4/5; Environment: 4/5; Food Quality: 5/5; Extras: 4/5; Coffee: 5/5; Price: 4/5. In detail, the service is generally really great, with only a few visits being "blah" on that level. One of our waitresses from Kim Phung has actually moved to this location which only pushes the rating even higher up. The environment is reminiscent of a school cafe, except everything is clean, perfectly working and non-intrusive (so it's as kush as a lunchroom setting can be). The Pho is the best we've found in Austin, and the speed that it comes out is truly impressive. Every Pho combination we've tried has been awesome here (and I'm not sure why anyone would stray from the Pho selections in the first place). The extras that come with it are more than most places, but still lack a few things such as cilantro and soy. There is some cilantro in the Pho itself, but Pho is an experience of making your own mix in ways... and the cilantro's not up to my normal mix. The coffee is insane, no matter whether hot or cold. We had no idea they offered it until check-out one day, where we spotted the glasses lined up on the shelves and immediately took steps to correct our oversight on our way out. Our tummies thanked us. Finally, the value is great for such a high quality. It's a few dollars more than many other Pho places, but the taste combined with the rest of the experience usually make it well worth the added cost... a cost that is still fairly affordable. read more

I think where this place shines is the fast service and Chicken Pho. For Beef Pho, I go across the street to Pho Dan - the broth is far superior and less fatty. One thing I have to note about Pho Saigon is that their noodles are overcooked and mushy. I like mine al dente. But again, the Chicken Pho is where it's at for this place. read more

Here's my experience with pho: there's bad pho, which you avoid. Then there's just pho. All pho that's not bad pho is good pho. I don't understand reviews that claim that this is the "best" pho, because good pho tastes pretty much the same to me everywhere. Having said that, I think Pho Saigon is great in other ways. There is a great variety to the types of tendon, meat, and tripe that you can choose to put in your steaming, giant bowl of noodles. Yes, giant. Portions are tremendous. Finally, my food appeared almost instantaneously. Some people mysteriously hate that, and prefer to have a waiting period before their food comes out. Whenever this happens to me, I get crankier and hungrier, so I appreciated the speed at which things are served. The biggest complaint I see here is about service, but frankly I don't understand why people want waiters to hover over them, acting 'friendly' and wasting everyone's time. When I go to a place like this, I just want to sit down, eat, and get out. The faster this happens, the happier I am - and if I'm happy, the servers have done their job. I don't take it personally when my water doesn't get filled - I just ask for more water. read more

I enjoy pho saigons pho its probably one of the better ones around town in Austin. I always get pho dac biet (combo) which is a pretty big portion for a small and comes with a good amount of meat. Their eggrolls are also nicely done and crispy. This is the place I usually go to however sometimes can be a little crowded! tl:dr: solid pho and eggrolls! read more

My favorite Pho place in Austin. So tasty and filling. Hit up up on cold days after an adventure in Walnut Creek Metro Park.

I'm not a pho expert but this place is really really good. Service is always fast and they are consistent in their quality.
