Okay just wanted to update my review cause I went ahead and ordered that 10 bowl party pot for my gathering! It was so seamless to order, pick up, and serve! The pot included herbs, veggies, and all the meats were separated. After tax I paid $140.xx plus a $20 bill to use their pot. I just brought it home and dumped each individual container into the pot and warmed it up. The noodles needed to be parboiled to achieve the bouncy softness but other than that my guests were amazed. read more

One of my favorite pho spots in North Austin. Never overcrowded and service is pretty quick!y The pho is delicious and always flavorful. The regular bowl is more than enough for me. On my recent visit, I tried a new dish (honey Siracha chicken) and it didn't come close to their pho. Also, the portion was a little small for the price. The restaurant is always pretty clean. There's no host so seating could be confusing for a new guest (just sit at any open table). They're still at the top of my list for pho! read more

Found a new Vietnamese restaurant nearby that we hadn't seen in all of our travels here and there. The restaurant is in a small strip center and has about 15 tables and a good looking menu! We ordered a spring roll appetizer and made sure they knew I was allergic to shrimp so we got the pork spring rolls. We both liked them except they were somewhat 'loose' so you lost stuff each time you dipped. Not a deal breaker here, because it was so good, but hey, tighten up those rolls guys! Now, I'm always looking for a good bowl of Bun Bo Hue when I try out a new Viet restaurant so was excited when I saw it on the menu (listed as BBH). Unlike other soup offerings it was only offered in one size but the photos they had of it were appealing. Of course, being Anglo, I had to ask if it comes with 'everything' meaning, pork feet, pork blood, etc. Yes, it had 'everything' except for the pork blood, but I ordered it anyway. So my positives are that the soup had a really good taste to it, very solid and the bowl was full of stuff, especially the pork foot and other proteins. The broth wasn't too spicy and wasn't so hot that by the time you can eat your meal your dining partner is finished. But I really have to protest about receiving my condiments in a plastic bag! I'd really much rather them put all of the veggie condiments on a plate like everyone else does. It made it very difficult for me to pick out stuff from the bag (I like more of this but maybe less of that). Still, trying to dig at the bottom of the bag for stuff was messy and not every easy. Plus, I like to grab a hand full of bean sprouts and break them in half when they're on a plate but you really can't do that here. Next time I'll ask for that to come on a plate. The other minor detail is they give you a couple of napkins tucked into that plastic bag with your condiments. Hey, I'm eating soup! Just put a napkin holder on each table please! I love Vietnamese food and I've had a lot of it over the years and would consider myself an authority. It is as close to being my favorite food as anything could be. We ordered from Pho Phi via Uber Eats because it was highly recommended in their reviews and were shocked by how bad it was. Nothing was good. Spring rolls were a joke at half the typical size, romaine lettuce, 3 split shrimp, rice noodles and thats it. I'm just glad they were half the size because they were tasteless. The shrimp and pork Bun was no better. The pork was soggy, mushy and tasteless and appeared to be almost shaved. The vegetables were kept separately which I thought at first to be a good idea until I looked further. Again with the Romaine lettuce. Note to Pho Phi - Romaine lettuce is not used in Vietnamese dishes. You use iceberg along with a few sprigs of cilantro. There were a few dry carrot strips on the side, within the Bun container. The minimum amount possible along with crushed peanut dust in the next compartment. There were a half dozen small shrimp in the dish. They looked as if they had been left over since lunch and re-heated along with the shaved pork and soggy egg rolls. (This was Pork and shrimp Bun, $16.95.)After looking at the cross section of the egg rolls, there seemed to be a combination of rice noodles and some kind of pinkish strands of unidentifiable something. The only satisfaction comes from warning everyone about how crappy this place is. Any good reviews would have to come from family or people who have never had even fair Vietnamese food. They can't even get the basics right. Note to the owner; Please close your restaurant now and quit pretending. Some of the worst "food" we've ever had. Total ripoff. 8 Thumbs downs here. Stopped in to Pho Phi on a Monday evening for dinner. Ordered the Spring rolls, plus a large bowl of Pho Ga. I asked the server to bring the spring rolls out first, and wait until I was done - before bringing the Pho Ga out. She assured me that it was no problem. So what did they do? They brought out both dishes at the same time. *sigh* I don't know why this is so frickin' hard for Vietnamese restaurants. The saving grace here for Pho Phi - is that the bowl of Pho Ga I enjoyed, rates in my top 3 all-time of best bowls of Pho Ga. The chicken broth was rich, complex, and damn delicious, The chicken was plentiful, and very tender. So I had to come and try the Pho! Great broth, I came in super early since it's such a cold day. There's nothing better than Pho in days like this. I really enjoyed all the flavors. They even give you cilantro to add as wanted so you measure what you want to put. I had the green tea, very nice and warm. The best thing about Pho is that even after you've done eating it you still have that warmth for a while without being stuffed. The small size it's still extra large in any other scale! The secret is to eat until you're satisfied not all the bowl. It's definitely huge. However it's also Super healthy and good for you! Especially the Pho from this place. You can see it's all fresh and made from scratch. I'm glad I came here to try the place inside instead of take out. I can attest that the food is high quality dining in or take out. Very nice people and fresh food. The vermicelli bowls were some of the best I've ever tasted. The shrimp was large and very fresh, the pork was tender and flavorful and the spring rolls were delicious. Most places give you 1 but they give 2. I had the spicy beef soup without noodles because I eat Keto. The broth was spectacular. Very flavorful and complex. I didn't realize there would be big hunks of meat on the bone (even though they tried to tell me ) but there was plenty of other meat and stuff going on. We were pleasantly surprised by the speedy preparation and the overall quality of ingredients. My vegetarian noodle bowl was tasty, including the broth. It felt like eating a warm, cozy salad bowl, healthy and filling. The venue itself is rather humble, a no frills dining room. But it is clean and the staff was polite. Pho Phi isn't bad. My fiancé sometimes goes there for lunch since it's so close to her office. Their pho isn't too salty and tastes just right. We met up for lunch there today and were relieved to find an open table. The last time we went months ago, we waited at least 15 minutes before we were seated. Lunch rush hour... As we often do when we go out for Vietnamese food, we ordered pork and shrimp spring rolls. The rolls themselves were nice and freshly rolled, but their peanut sauce was watery. It lacked that thicker consistency and the flavor we're accustomed to having. Our server was overbearing, but that's a loaded comment -so I'll leave it at that. Their pho was good and they're conveniently located on Parmer. We'll endeavor to return during dinner hours in the future. Maybe that'll allow for more of a chill environment. read more
