With winter weather in full swing Marissa C and I found ourselves seeking to try a new pho restaurant. A colleague eagerly recommended Pho Peoria. I can now see why it's one of her favorites! THE LOCATION - Just off Peoria and 17th Pho Peoria is easy to find and offers ample parking. The exterior of the building doesn't offer much. However I have found that those tend to be the best hole-in -the-wall spots to get a solid bowl of pho. THE SPACE - Inside is very sleek and modern. We've both dined in and picked up our orders from Pho Peoria. They have a happy little group of plants gathered in the vestibule and just through the front doors to greet you upon arrival. Everything is clean and very simply decorated. THE PHO - Anyone who loves pho knows the broth is where it's at. Well Pho Peoria easily has some of the most flavorful broth. The meat is fresh and tender. The optional additions are a plentiful and don't forget those sauces! Yum! I'm a big rare steak fan - nice and simple, and theirs was some of the best I've had! THE CRAB CHEESE WONTONS - Oh yes, these delicious appetizers deserve to be in a category of their own. First off they are HUGE! So large in fact that they aren't able to be pinched closed in the traditional fashion. Second they are sooo good! Literally a meal unto themselves. I crave these wontons. THE SERVICE - For our food pick up during the indoor dinning restrictions everything was ready promptly upon our arrival. Post dinning restrictions, we opted to dine-in for our meal and our server was quite attentive. So happy to see that they are taking precautions to ensure the safety of both staff and customers (see notes below). Pho Peoria definitely skyrocketed up our list of favorites in the area. The place sits right on the corner of Peoria and 17th. Parking is limited with a lot of pot holes. The place is clean and nice inside. Came here with my parents to try the place out. My dad had a medium pho with rare steak on the side, my mom had the diced steak, and I had the combination plate. My dad enjoyed his bowl of pho and said that they were very generous with the amount of pho. That is a very good thing and not a rip off. We tasted his pho broth and it was decent. My mom and I shared our plates between the 3 of us. The diced steak was a thumbs up. The combination plate was decent but a little on the dry side. The egg and egg roll that came with my order was delicious. Our overall experience was good. I would come back again to try other things and re-rate the place again. This place was exactly what I had been looking for. Authentic, DELICIOUS, Vietnamese food. We started with the crab rangoons, because so many had recommended them, and they definitely lived up to the hype. I then had the chicken pho, and my boyfriend had the spicy beef pho. Both were delicious! What really made my night was how amazing the service was as well. I asked for an extra side of lime and cilantro...and they brought me TWO BOWLS of each! I was so content, maybe more content than I had ever been at a pho place. The serving sizes were also huge and we both took home practically a full serving. This place is so convenient to get a nice bowl of Pho. I'm so glad it's near where I'm working/studying and makes for a quick stop when I need some comfort food. Service is fast and what you'd expect for most Pho restaurants. I order the rare steak pho, that's my go to for any occasion but especially when I'm not doing too well. The broth here is flavorful and like what I'm used to. The meat is better quality than I've found at the places I've tried since it's softer and compliments the soup well. They also provide large plates of the add ons (basil, bean sprouts, lime, jalapenos...) if you like to have more of those. I'm glad to have this place so close to the Anschutz campus, and it's great for when I don't feel like driving all the way to Federal Blvd for some pho. read more

Dropped in this place on a cool fall night, it was packed, very small parking lot, but worth the challenge of finding a spot. Had the combination pho, shrimp spring rolls and a Thai tea. Soo good! The tendon was soft as butter, a ton of brisket, and the broth was some of the best I've ever had. Hearty portions too. The shrimp spring rolls were huge and fresh with a great peanut sauce. This was the perfect takeout dinner for a cozy Sunday night. The broth was a little sweet and full of umami. I got ample toppings with my broth, noodles and rare beef. Nice restaurant by the university - staff was cool and as for the Bo Luc Lac... it was good, but it was not what we were looking for. It tasted pretty good and it reminded me of my mom's version (which is cool), but it didn't wow us like our go to restaurant in San Diego. They were very liberal with the pepper though lol... Some of the best pho I've had. There are only about 2-3 tofu pieces so you may want to get extra. Tofu is fried but you can ask for steamed tofu. Service was slow the day we were there but very clean restaurant and really enjoyed the food there! read more

Windy and snowfalling is a Pho kinda night. I was craving this hot tasty dish and decided to try somewhere new and I was not disappointed. This restaurant is well lit, clean and and nicely decorated. I ordered the Vegetable Pho and asked for vegetable broth. It had lots of Veg and tofu Mmmmm... The medium size was quite filling. This time I didn't order an appetizer so I could eat it all and was quite happy for that. I did enjoy the broth flavor but my other half said it needed something. What a great spot! My wife (and I) just had our first born child across the street at UC health. She was craving something fresh, hot and healthy....and not from the cafeteria, so we tried Pho Peoria for take out. The food was amazing! Fresh and delicious broth. The owner/manger of the shop was so kind he let me borrow two of the actual bowls from the restaurant so that we could enjoy our dinner in actual ceramic bowls rather than having to eat out of to go styrofoam. Food was just ok. I ordered a shrimp noodle dish and my wife orders pad Thai. Mine was pretty bland but was able to add some table side sauces to make it a little better. It really needed a sauce. The pad Thai was one of the lesser I have tried, too much tomato or chili sauce, not sure what it was but overpowering. Not in a spicy way, just in flavor. The spring rolls were good. read more
