The peanut sauce was warm and tasted different from what we're used to as it's a bit sweeter P1) Combination pho (large) with rare steak, brisket, meatball, tendon, and tripe. Not enough tripe compared to the other protein. HUGE bowl P7) Kid pho with brisket had a healthy serving of noodles but very little broth. The brisket was very dry but the broth was good Ambience: 2/5 - the restaurant was dimly lit. It has a slight smell of disinfectant when you walk in. This place is convenient at best. We order the Combination Pho and the Combination Rice Plate. The Pho was decent but something was missing. Also there were no beef balls, not sure if we ordered the wrong thing but typically Pho Dac Biet has all the different cuts along with tripe and beef balls and ours didn't have it. The combination plate was what i was expecting from this place. It satisfied that craving but the items all seemed to have the same sweet sauce all over it. The grill flavors were also missing. The server and possibly owner was very nice and pleasant. He did splash some water on me while he was cleaning the table next to us while we ate. I would maybe have waited for us to leave first before cleaning but won't really hold it against him. This place is close to work so I love how convenient this place is. Experience is mix, but I never had a horrible experience. The Pho is pretty consistent so I always know what to expect. I think their fried eggrolls are their best appetizer so I recommend getting that. I also recommend the Pho over their rice dishes because the rice plates are inconsistent. I have had both good and not so good rice plates here. One thing I don't recommend is their Boba drinks. The one I did receive was very flavorless and it tasted like I was drinking an icey, leftover, fruit juice. Everytime I ate here they were never busy so it is hard to rate their service. I will say that for the most part I have had good service with rare occasions that they got my order wrong. The last time I did eat here I smelled cigarettes while I ate. I couldn't tell whether someone came in smelling like it or the restaurant itself smelled like stale cigarettes. The restaurant itself is located in a strip mall, next to a barbershop and a clothing store. It may seem like a dirty place from the outside but its not bad. read more

3 and a half. Easy and quick to get to if you work in Northfield. Restaurant is clean, service is quick if a little rote. Meat portions are good. I wish the bowls were pre-heated or the broth was a little hotter. The broth is relatively tasty, though it's not going to surprise anyone - basic pho broth profile. This may be a hole in the wall-mom and pop shop and the presentation may not be the prettiest, but their food reminds me of my mom's home cook Vietnamese food, which I miss very much. I usually order the bun (vermicelli) thit nuong or the com thit nuong (rice and grilled pork). You can't go wrong with those dishes. The owners are very kind and personal. They mix the fish sauce for you at your table and take their time to talk to each of their customers. I went in because it was cold and I was feeling a bit sick. I sat at a table and was served quickly. It's a simple place with one TV, normally playing either a movie or game. The hot and savory broth from the pho had me sweating, which is what I wanted. The servers were very friendly. I had some crab cheese wontons along with my pho which was elaborately plated. The place was almost empty, but the service (getting menus, food, refills) was a bit slow. We started with the Vietnamese spring rolls. They were somewhat dry and the peanut sauce was on the gummy side. Upon their recommendation, we went with the beef stew soup (this is a spicy beef shank stew with largish noodles). Stop by for lunch on my business trip! This place served amazing bowl of Pho. As a Vienamese person, I have to give kudos to the this place. The beef broth soothed my taste very well. I was not surprised that there was not much fatty taste into the broth, which in turn made it feel easy in my stomach. The meat was thick and tasty. It was well tenderized. Phò 999 is the stuff! Stopped here for lunch with my family and it was AMAZING! Upon entering the restaurant, even though there were 3 seated parties and 2 parties ordering takeout, we were immediately greeted and seated. We placed our order within 7 mins and the food arrived within 5 mins of ordering! We ordered 4 medium Phò noodle soups (1 shrimp, 1 beef ball, 1 rare steak, and 1 rare steak and beef ball), 2 of the deep fried "eggs rolls", and 2 of the Vietnamese iced coffees. Food assessment: The DEEP DRIED EGG ROLLS were delicious, if they were a little bigger (per piece) it would have been PERFECT! The PHÒ NOODLE SOUP was hot and flavorful; the noodles were perfectly cooked (not hard or mushy) and had the perfect amount of steak and beef balls (every bite was accompanied with a piece of meat). The ICED COFFE was the best I've had in a very long time; growing up in San Francisco, I've had my share of delicious iced coffees, and I'll have to admit that Phò 999's iced coffee was 10/10! If this place was closer to where I live, I'd be in trouble!!! I was more expensive than I'm used for Phò noodles, but considering the current inflation I'm still willing to pay. 3 cheers for Woc and his Phò 999 crew! The vermicelli portion was very generous, more than I could eat, and pretty tasty, maybe a little bit more fatty than I'd like. However, the iced coffee was a little bit of a let down, you usually can't go wrong with this item, but their coffee had an extra burn coffee flavor. I should note, the prices were a little bit on the pricey side for a bun bowl. The place seems to have a good following of local business employees and for good reason!
