    Combination rice plate
    Sam C.

This place is convenient at best. We order the Combination Pho and the Combination Rice Plate. The Pho was decent but something was missing. Also there were no beef balls, not sure if we ordered the wrong thing but typically Pho Dac Biet has all the different cuts along with tripe and beef balls and ours didn't have it. The combination plate was what i was expecting from this place. It satisfied that craving but the items all seemed to have the same sweet sauce all over it. The grill flavors were also missing. The server and possibly owner was very nice and pleasant. He did splash some water on me while he was cleaning the table next to us while we ate. I would maybe have waited for us to leave first before cleaning but won't really hold it against him. I would only comeback if I needed to satisfy a Viet craving but the search will continue for pho in Denver.

    Our whole meal

Plate Combination: 9/10 Spring rolls: 9/10 Egg rolls 10/10 Noddles with beef: 10/10 It's a small business with a lot of potential but you have to dine in to ensure you can get a proper taste of the food. I highly recommend the egg roles as those are go tos. The food is amazing and so is the service, despite the language barrier they ensure that we were served in a timely manner and double checked if we needed anything else. Again, the food has flavor and the portions are fair.

Was craving pho and decided to go to this place because it was the closest pho place in the Northfield area. Overall no complaints as the pho did help with the craving but it also did not exceed my expectations either.

    Combination PHO

I have been eating here last six years and half but pho is always good even after owner change like 3years ago. I will keep going there as long as I can eat delicious Pho.

This place is close to work so I love how convenient this place is. Experience is mix, but I never had a horrible experience. The Pho is pretty consistent so I always know what to expect. I think their fried eggrolls are their best appetizer so I recommend getting that. I also recommend the Pho over their rice dishes because the rice plates are inconsistent. I have had both good and not so good rice plates here. One thing I don't recommend is their Boba drinks. The one I did receive was very flavorless and it tasted like I was drinking an icey, leftover, fruit juice. Everytime I ate here they were never busy so it is hard to rate their service. I will say that for the most part I have had good service with rare occasions that they got my order wrong. The last time I did eat here I smelled cigarettes while I ate. I couldn't tell whether someone came in smelling like it or the restaurant itself smelled like stale cigarettes. The restaurant itself is located in a strip mall, next to a barbershop and a clothing store. It may seem like a dirty place from the outside but its not bad.

3 and a half. Easy and quick to get to if you work in Northfield. Restaurant is clean, service is quick if a little rote. Meat portions are good. I wish the bowls were pre-heated or the broth was a little hotter. The broth is relatively tasty, though it's not going to surprise anyone - basic pho broth profile. I wish they had fish sauce on the tables instead of soy sauce. The chili-garlic sauce tastes a little stronger at this place than others.

Hubs order of Grilled Beef Rice Plate, Pho 999 - November 11th 2014

Since the change of name and I was a little under the weather, I ask Hubs to order our Dinner from here.. This recent visit was on Tuesday November 11th 2014. Pho 999 offer the norm of Appetizers, Pho, Com (Rice Plates), Bun (Rice Noodle Bowls), Beverages, and Sinh To (Smoothies) to name a few. We ordered our food as TO GO ORDER : * Crab Cheese Wontons ($4.50) * Medium Bowl Shrimp Pho aka Pho Tom ($7.45) * Grilled Beef Plate aka Com Bo Nuong Cha Gio ($8.50) The Shrimp Pho, the Beef Broth was ok, nothing fancy, nothing stellar - they can do better. There are 6 shrimp, some Bean Sprouts, 3 slices of Green Jalapeno, 2 stalks of Basil, slices of raw white onions, some "sprinkle" of green onions aka chopped scallions. As for the Grilled Beef Plate its doable, ok.. We DO NOT consume the Egg Roll since it contains PORK - we threw it away... Overall all the food we ordered are JUST OK. Take note, ADDITONAL ($0.25) is charged for each item for TAKE OUT. Each EXTRA Topping is ($1.95). Even though we are offered 20% Discount, since we ordered after 17:00hrs ish, nothing special to entice us to return. PHO 999, is OPEN DAILY from 10am to 9pm. Com thit nuong
    Loan N.

This may be a hole in the wall-mom and pop shop and the presentation may not be the prettiest, but their food reminds me of my mom's home cook Vietnamese food, which I miss very much. I usually order the bun (vermicelli) thit nuong or the com thit nuong (rice and grilled pork). You can't go wrong with those dishes. The owners are very kind and personal. They mix the fish sauce for you at your table and take their time to talk to each of their customers. I will definitely return and don't mind the 10min drive from the Anschutz Medical Campus.

    So delicious

Best pho we've had around Montbello. My kids are picky eaters and they love their shrimp and rice bowls.

When you think of Vietnamese, Americans tend to think of Pho, noodle bowls and lemongrass chicken but we need more places the focuses in home cooking and dishes that locals eat. Ingredients are fresh and dishes pack a powerful flavor bomb...I mean wow! The use of shrimp paste and other traditional ingredients really elevate flavors that many Americans are not used to, but you have to try it to understand. Their claypots are a must order and with a side of rice....you'll be eating for days! The star of the night was the pork and calamari claypot which is cooked in shrimp paste and your favorite Vietnamese spices and herbs. You'll finish bowls of rice with this dish, it packs so much flavor that you'll be wanting more. It's a great mix of salty, sweet and umami from the fermented shrimp paste. The Vietnamese curry was thick and packed with succulent shrimp. The veggies at a very nice brightness to balance out the coconut milk. The last dish we had was a shrimp lemon grass in the clay pot and that was also a hit with everyone! Service is amazing and they definitely know how to recommend dishes to match your taste buds. They went out of the way to help everyone and it shows. If you need a new spot, check Dan Da!

I had a dinner reservation for 1 at 5:30pm on a Sunday night. First off, I appreciate that they let me have a table seat to myself. I know a lot of places that want solo diners at the bar. My waitress was absolutely perfect, she gave me such excellent recommendations and really helped shape my meal. Everything she recommended was fantastic. I had 3 dishes, because I wanted to try everything. I would've been fine with 2, since these portion sizes were pretty generous, but I just had to. My first dish was the trứng và trứng - soft scrambled egg, brown butter, fish sauce, trout roe, rice. This was so comforting, so homey, so warm. It was exactly what I needed after a long weekend of working. Get this. My second dish was the tàu hũ ky cuộn tôm - shrimp cake, butter, trout roe, mint. You're probably thinking this is like a fried crab cake, but it wasn't. There's basically no breadcrumbs in this, so it's more like when you get shrimp paste at hot pot. It was so tender, moist, and so flavorful. And of course, my veggie choice was the bắp cải luộc - charred cabbage, anchovy breadcrumbs, egg yolk. My waitress had said this was basically if they put charred cabbage on top of the filling in a deviled egg and she was right. This was so good. If you're into deviled eggs at all, get this.
