The waitstaff was super nice. Everything was super clean inside and they have a parking lot. They seat you at a table but then you have to order from your phone. I didn't like this part because we have a bunch of dietary restrictions and allergies and I found it difficult to navigate this. The food was tasty, especially the vegan mushroom dumplings. I did order one of each of the vegan buns (one "beef" one "chicken") and they tasted the exact same. The bao bread is kind of sweet like a Hawaiian sweet roll. We've been wanting to try Mason's dumpling for a while now and finally had a chance to stop in. Our server Alejandra was very sweet and welcoming knowing it was our 1st time. We started with the scallion pancake and it was underwhelming, flavor was good but the texture was that of a frozen reheated one I could buy from the freezer section. We also got the pan fried chicken and soup dumplings. Both were pretty bland on their own so the sauce was definitely needed. Loved the black vinegar, soy and chili oil sauce. read more

Mason's Dumplings felt like a bit of a comedy of errors. Our server was super friendly and did their best in spite of everything, but the experience was oddly complicated. You scan a QR code to see the menu, order, and pay--but they don't provide access to either of the two Wi-Fi networks. Why? When we couldn't connect, they brought out a sticky paper menu instead. Ordering was also a bit confusing--the paper order form must have already had some stray marks on it, because we ended up with a couple of side dishes we didn't order. Thankfully, our actual food--the soupy dumplings and fried beef dumplings--was tasty and hit the spot. In short: good dumplings, very nice staff, but the system needs a rethink. read more

I adore Masons for a fast casual meal, perfectly formatted for takeout that suits vegans, vegetarians, and gluten free people. They have adopted QR based ordering system and no longer use the wait staff to do so. Their online menu unfortunately does not contain any allergen indications. With this the waitstaff is not able to answer questions about the ingredients either. Because of this I reached out online to figure out which items were gluten free with confidence. Their seaweed salads, lotus, and woodear mushroom salads as all the rice bowls are gluten free. Their soy sauce is not gluten free so you must ask the staff to leave it out of the bowls!! With that as a gluten free vegetarian the vegan chicken rice bowl is one of my favorite meals. The sauce is perfectly sweet and gingery, and their vegan chicken has a super hearty texture similar to seitan. My partner adores the yuzu dumplings and beef and cheese dumplings paired with the beef and rice bowl. I personally skip the appetizers/ salads here other than the buns. In the future I would LOVE to see allergen information available for their online menu as well as either a comment box or checkbox to indicate a gluten free preference. I recommend bringing your own soy sauce if you are GF. They have limited seating so I would honestly recommend ordering online and picking up! read more

We ordered a ton of food for me to try out this place, and every bit of it was delicious. The server brought out a complimentary dish of a garlic soy sauce, and it was phenomenal! We had the pancakes, two kinds of soup dumplings, pork and shrimp shu mai, and two kinds of fried dumplings. It was sooo much food, but we ate until we thought we were going to pop and still had food leftover. Service was great, and our glasses stayed full. The overall feel of the restaurant was great, and you knew you were settling into a warm meal of deliciousness. I've been wanting to try Mason's Dumpling Shop for a while now and I'm glad I gave it a go. I would actually rate it 3.5 stars. We had beef noodles, pork belly bun, steamed soup dumplings, chicken yuzu soup dumplings (not pictured), pan fried chicken dumplings and mushroom meat noodles. My favorite was the steamed soup dumplings and the beef noodles. The meat filling in the soup dumplings was juicy and nicely seasoned. Only thing about them that I didn't like was that some were missing the soup in them - probably because of being steamed too long. The beef in the beef noodles was so tender that it was falling apart as you picked it up. I liked the pan fried chicken dumplings but wish they had a more crispy bottom. The service was quick and our server was really helpful. I will be trying Mason's out again for sure! read more

In Aurora on a dark corner. Is this dumpling shop. Like to spoil myself in some pot stickers. Sunday 9:30pm Customer service during the entrance to the table was terrible. Ask for water and never was brought out till I ask for it again. No plate was given and I noticed other patrons had them. Now the food was fresh and good. Pot stickers and pancakes were delicious. All the stars given were just for the food. Chilli oil needs revamp. I had better chilli oil at the dollar scoop. They need to audit their food and condiments to make sure everything is up to par. A solid Chinese restaurant that specializes in dumplings! The menu has variety of dumplings, noodles, and appetizers, but it is not overwhelming. We started with the Pork Belly buns, then the Steamed Soup Dumplings, Chive and Pork dumplings, and the Beef Noodle soup. The Pork Belly Buns were soft on the outside and the pork belly had a little crisp to it. The bun is stuffed pretty well. The Steam Soup Dumplings were very good, the broth was flavorful and the skin not too thick. However, each dumpling got stuck to the paper liner and ripped so the soup spilled out of every dumpling. The Chive and Pork dumplings were ok, I preferred the soup dumplings instead. But you do get a large amount for the price. The Beef Noodle Soup contained a good amount of noodles and beef and some bok choy. The broth was a little on the sweet side for my taste. Overall, a solid Chinese dumpling restaurant. I love this place but had a horrible delivery experience today . Waited for 2 hours from DoorDash and wasn't given any compensation for the wait . I literally live 10 mins away from. When the dasher arrived he complained that they made him wait for more than half an hour so I opted to add a bit more tip . Also , the employee promised to compensate for the long wait but I received nothing . I still love this place and this review is delivery related but I'm hoping that management needs to take action as this place is going downhill. 70 bucks for three entrees which took 2 hours doesn't sound worth it if you ask me . Food is superb! You can't go wrong with the pan fried pork dumplings. Price is pretty $ decent for the portions (10 dumplings for $12-13). The stewed angus beef rice is amazing and the Chinese pancakes as well. My coworkers and I have ordered in Mason's several times this year and this is the first time I'm dining in. Plenty of parking spaces and seating inside, they also have a bar. The servers were pretty attentive as well. Honestly, Mason's is my go-to place now for dumplings. Loved everything about this initial visit to Mason's Dumplings and kicking myself for not having stopped here previously. I visited on a Sunday night with a friendly gathering already at the restaurant, and Mason's rocked it. Kimly was a terrific server, gave us great suggestions, and made the entire meal positive. Exceptional service by Kimly throughout, and the staff regularly delivered dishes as they were ready, making the whole experience even better. I enjoyed many dishes: lotus roots (awesome, BTW, amazing texture, a favorite of mine with all of my Asian travel), seaweed salad, a beef bun, beef noodle dish, pan-fried chicken, and steamed soup. They were all remarkable, so delicious, and unique in their own way. I might replicate this meal again if our threesome returned together! I was coming here pretty often but seems like the cooks are against me and don't like me. I gave them a second chance after having a really bad pork belly ramen I got sick for a couple days. my second chance trying if it was going to be corrected by luck and faith I got served a special revenge beef ramen. Seems like the cooks don't like me anymore salty is one thing that ramen was beyond salty tasted like a dirty rag, the noodles were basically uncooked plus you could notice they were furious with me basically the noodle was turned into a ball squeezed all together with their hands. read more

Wow. This place was busy, and hustling out dumplings as quickly as they could! We snagged two seats at the bar, and ordered off the QR code menu. We came in hungry, and everything sounded great. Naturally, we ordered way too much! The dishes come out as they're ready, so first up was my vegan "beef" bun. It was delicious, and easily my favorite bite of the evening. The bao was pillowy, with flavorful and differently textured fillings. I ate steamed vegan dumplings next. They were good as well. Finally, because I had no idea how much food was the right amount to order, I had the pan-fried fish dumplings. Those were very tasty, with a light flavor. My husband had both the beef and the pork pan-fried dumplings. He enjoyed both, but said the latter were phenomenal. We enjoyed everything except the plum juice, which was not sweet like I expected. I tried again with the apple soda, which I much preferred. I would recommend one order of dumplings per person, and perhaps a single bao each or a shared dish. Solid choice for classic Cantonese fare. I think it is better to dine in as the buns, potstickers hold up better. Loved the angus beef over rice. Great pork potstickers. The pork belly bao was so so. Chili sauce was fine if not a tad too tame. Get here early ( like when they open at 4:30) as the place does get packed with parents and their chillin. Small dining room with approx 10-15 tables plus bar seating so it does get packed quickly but the food also comes out just as fast so the tables turn over quickly and you should not be discouraged if there is a bit of a line. Our favorites are the Beef Cheese and Onion Dumplings, Lotus Roots, Pork Belly Bun, Soup Dumplings and seaweed salad. Easy to order by scanning the QR code at your table. You then click the text link to pay at the end. Easy peasy. Service was also super fast and friendly. This place is not located in the best part of town so be very careful where you park and I wouldn't hang around outside by myself at night or during the daytime and I definitely would not walk here. Mason's is as safe and basic dumpling shop you can go to. Compared to more authentic Chinese places, this is pretty watered and westernized. It's your average of the mill shop but portions are good for it's price. The beef on rice reminded me of home, similar to what my dad used to make but with less fat. It was actually filling and the beef was tender and soft. The dumplings were average. We ordered the pan fried dumplings, one with pork and the other vegetarian option. The fillings both lacked flavor and the dough was thick. The dough to filling ratio was rather off. It's a good place to start if you want to get into Chinese dumplings and dim sum, but there are other places I would recommend over Mason's. It's still hard to beat Star Kitchen and Empress if you want a more authentic experience and flavors. read more

The soup dumplings are my favorite but lots of other options to include gyoza and vegetables. We also enjoyed the dessert dumplings which were very cute and fun! I probably shouldn't have had high expectations for this place being Chinese and from California, but given there are locations in Southern California I assumed this place would be decent. The server eventually came and took our order but the whole things was kind of a fuss. When the food finally came it was lackluster. Soup dumplings werent very flavorful and it came with such little ginger. When I asked the server for more he had an attitude. We got both the pork and crab & pork soup dumplings. We also ordered the beef noodles which was also very bland but the meat was tender. The best thing was probably the pan fried dumplings (not pictured) which was flavorful and had a nice crisp. The ambiance was awful. Packed in a small table elbow to elbow with someone else. The fluorescent lights were insanely bright for dinner so it just hurt my eyes. Then finally they're blasting country music which was a weeeeird vibe. Look I like country, but I've never heard country blasting full volume at a "Chinese" restaurant. Super authentic and delicious food! They have a variety of appetizers (wood ear mushrooms, tofu, cucumbers etc), dumplings (steamed, boiled and pan fried), noodles and rice dishes. Came with my family and got the wood ear mushrooms + tofu appetizers -- both had great flavoring, not too salty and very aromatic. We also ordered the pork shrimp chive dumplings (all dumplings come with 8 pieces), vegan dumplings, fish dumplings, mushroom pork noodles and beef noodles. Everything we ordered was really delicious! The dumplings are wrapped really nicely with a nice doughy chew to them, and the fillings are seasoned excellently. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered Pan Fried Beef and chicken dumplings that had great texture flavor and they were not shy on the amount of filling. They aren't burnt but are intentionally charred that as texture and chew and are absolutely delicious. The soup dumplings were great but of course a couple of them had burst, so there was no soup inside. They don't offer any spicy condiments...no spicy chili or garlic oil, or saracha. They have sesame oil that doesn't add much to the dumplings so we chose to mix that with soy sauce for something to do into. They also have vinegar, possibly rice wine vinegar and that went great with the dumplings. Our waitress was great, but we noticed that she was doing everything by herself, from greeting customers, wiping down and bussing the tables plus waiting on patrons. There was another girl there who seem to be a waitress, but she was much lazier and didn't do very much work in comparison to our waitress. She really could've helped out the young lady that was helping us and what we didn't like about that was we asked if she would get to keep the tip we gave her or if she had to share it. She did let us know that the tip had to be shared, and we were very disappointed in that because she was serving the entire restaurant and would have to share with another person there who was clearly doing the bare minimum and leaving it up to our waitress. I hope she finds another job. But she was very good, extremely pleasant, very kind and attentive to us. The ambience was OK only because everything wasn't getting cleaned to a top level but that's clearly because only one person was putting in most of the work. For example, our table was definitely wiped down, but it wasn't dried before we were directed to sit there, so we dried it ourselves with napkins. The space is a little cramped, but to be expected, and that was not an issue for us. I'd call it casual and comfortable. And this location had straws at the table, which is a very rare find nowadays. Overall, this was my second time at this establishment and I will come again because the food is great, and would only hope that management takes this review and recognizes that they need to pay attention to what staff is actually putting in work, and what staff is not, and possibly consider not pooling tips. The food is great, but the staff at this casual, little dumpling shop provided the best service I think I have ever experienced. They were completely full when we arrived--without a single empty seat. The host greeted us the instant we walked in the door and said one party was just about to leave their table. We only waited a few minutes, but the host checked in with us three more times to ensure we were comfortable. He thoroughly cleaned the table as soon as the other party left and got us seated as quickly as possible. The server was with us almost immediately. Mason's uses a slip of paper printed with the menu items, like most sushi restaurants, and we had already filled that out, so she took our drink orders and zipped off. Our drinks arrived promptly, followed quickly by the three dishes we requested--each brought out piping hot as soon as it was prepared. The staff checked in with us frequently and everyone was consistently very pleasant and helpful, extremely efficient, unperturbed by the large crowd, and without a wasted step. I was amazed. These folks really know how to run a terrific business. I forgot to mention that a large number of takeout orders were also being prepared while the huge crowd in the restaurant was kept satisfied. All of this with a relatively small staff. Goes to show the importance of proper training and good management. So, how was the food? We ordered the steamed soup dumplings, the pan-fried pork dumplings, and the stewed Angus beef noodle. This was a great combination and just enough food for two people (we were hungry!). The dumplings were perfectly prepared and piping hot. I was very pleased that each dish came to the table the instant it left the kitchen--nothing sat on a counter waiting for a server or for other dishes to be completed. The Angus beef noodle was the most amazing item. This was really noodle soup and came with many large, tender chunks of beef, bok choy, and some beautiful discs of squash. The noodles were nicely al dente, but the best part was the unctuous, incredibly flavorful broth. We licked up every bit. The menu includes five appetizers, three buns, four rice bowls, three noodle bowls, three boiled dumplings, four steamed dumplings, and five fried dumplings. Every item uses top quality, extremely fresh ingredients. The icky building that sat abandoned for years has been heavily remodeled into an elegant, functional space. This family business started in the Los Angeles area in 2001 and now includes two stores in LA, this one in Aurora, and another in Boulder. The server told us that they are extremely busy from the moment they open for lunch. This is the place if you love dumplings! read more

Okayyyyyyy Mason's...I see you!! Met up for dumps (yes, I call them dumps) with some friends on a Sunday afternoon. I think we arrived right when they opened so there were still some tables open. I am a big fan of these soup dumplings. They are legit. We ordered the crab and the pork and I was so surprised. The flavor was spot on, and I loved the crab ones especially. The majority of the dumps stayed intact. And the skin was nice and thin, just like it should be! The flavor was the shining quality. It's savory, it's rich, it's umame. Hit it with some vinegar, and zing, it slices all of those elements and ties it all up into a perfect little bite. We also ordered some of the pan fried pork dumps and the beef noodle soup. I wasn't blown away by the pan fried dumps but the beef noodle soup hit the spot. 10/10 recommend, and will definitely be back. *Also want to say my parents are both very legit chefs. They owned and operated their own restaurant for 16 years. They still make dumplings regularly so I am spoiled by the tastiness of those.
