Fried calamari

Food is fresh and delicious. We really enjoyed our dinner there. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed

Still did not have the courage to try some of better known spicy dishes at the recently opened Chef Liu's Kitchen and only had the appetite for lunch, so ordered the braised beef noodle soup and stir fried vegetables instead. The braised beef noodle here was quite different from the ones at other places. The broth was darker , aromatic and the flavor was heavier. The beef cubes were tender, savory and well braised. The noodle was firm, springy and chewy. Overall quite authentic and very enjoyable. Heard the spicy version was even better. The stir fried vegetable surprisingly had the wok hei aroma, bringing out the fresh taste of the vegetables. Chef Liu's Kitchen is at the Sushi Katsu shopping center on Havana, right by Coffee Story.

Sichuan Green Beans ( without minced Pork)

A big thanks to fellow Yelper, Mark T. for his review and insight for this new authentic Chinese restaurant in the Denver area! We enjoyed our food at this new establishment. We ordered the Black Pepper Steak with Mushroom, Peking Style Shredded Pork in Soy Paste, and Beef Chow Fun. We also ordered the Sichuan Green Beans but without the minced pork so that we had a vegetarian option. We were a little disappointed that the Chow Fun was not the traditional Ho Fun noodles used for this dish. Unfortunately, it tasted like it was dried rice noodles from a package instead. I think this dish could use a little improvement. Otherwise, the flavor of our dishes was tasty. Customer service was on point too. We were checked on and our water glasses were refilled without asking. We will visit this restaurant again to try other items on the menu.

Do you use MSG in your food and how are the Egg Rolls and Cream Cheese Wontons, please?

Hi Marina, we do use a small amount of MSG in some dishes. We can take it out for most of them. Egg rolls and cheese wontons are made without MSG

I am so glad that they are so consistent and have not changed recipes or adjusted seasonings. Ordered our two favorites - pickled pepper beef and mapo tofu. Then the string beans and a new dish - sauerkraut fish filet. The sauerkraut fish filet reminded me of the Vietnamese catfish soup but no sweetness added. Very good dish and will def order again. Also love that they have quality rice here.

We ordered the fried tofu (with peppers and onions), orange chicken, fried fish fillet, and veggie delight (mixed veggies). The fried fish fillet was definitely the standout. Perfectly crispy on the outside with a light, tangy layer of sauce that added flavor without making it soggy. Easily my favorite dish of the meal. The fried tofu was also really solid and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. The peppers and onions complemented it well without overpowering the tofu itself. The orange chicken was okay. I tend to compare orange chicken to Panda Express (probably unfair, but it's my benchmark), and this one didn't quite hit that same balance of crispiness and sauce. I think if it had a bit more meat within each piece, would be better. The mixed vegetables were decent but not something I'd order again. They felt a bit drenched in sauce and didn't have much depth in flavor. One of the highlights of the visit was meeting an elderly woman who helps out when it gets busy. She mentioned she was the former owner. She was incredibly kind, and we ended up having a really nice conversation in Mandarin. That personal touch made the experience even more memorable. Otherwise, really nice venue with lots of space and tables. Waiters always refilled my water, which is a good plus. Also gave me fresh rice when I took the leftovers to go. Overall, a solid meal with a couple standout dishes. I'd definitely come back for the fried fish fillet and tofu. Will be back to try their other dishes.

The deal came with a free dessert to share, either a pandan cake or mango mousse. We decided on sharing and dividing the cake and boy, was it delicious! Just a few small bites to end our wonderful meal. As always, the service was very good and since we sat outside to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air, the ambient was perfect: not too noisy at all. Wendy Tong, owner of Chopstix Fusion, is a lovely lady who welcomes her guests with great hospitality, and her husband is a phenomenal chef who, not only can cook these dishes, but can prepare some mean Chinese traditional dishes. If you have not eaten here, it is highly suggested that you stop by and instead of smelling the roses, smell the cooking that is happening here. Your nose, mouth, and stomach will thank you!

However, the food was delicious. Everything was super flavorful. Portions are pretty good as well. My go to order at every HK Canto style restaurant is the beef chowfun. If it's good, I'll come back. And the beef chow fun was some of the best that I have had in CO. I don't know. There was something about it where it had enough sauce cooked in the noodles but also a good quantity of meat as well. It wasn't overpowered by onions like a lot of places do. For desserts, I tried the ube tiramisu and the pandan coconut cake. Both were very tasty and they're not too sweet which is code for Asian approval on sweets. Service is friendly and food comes quick. It is a small restaurant tucked in a corner so WiFi is nonexistent.
