Great food portions. Good food. Not expensive at all. Great atmosphere. I reccomend and I will be coming back!

Closed doors AGAIN

I really don't know how to rate this restaurant, considering that EVERY time I've tried going there over the last three months, they've been closed during normal business hours. I'm starting to suspect they're a front for illegal activity. They were closed the entire week between Christmas and New Year's, then they were closed the Sunday AFTER New Year's Day, and today they were closed again! In my experience, restaurants typically want to be open any time possible, you know, to make money and stuff. IDK...maybe that's just foolish thinking?

Seeking to branch out from my usual pho spots in Aurora I made my way to Pho Duy. SPACE/LOCATION: Pretty typical for most Vietnamese restaurants I've been too. Very minimal. There's a couple tvs mounted on the walls, some decor at the hosts stand/register, and paneling that goes just less than halfway up the walls. Since it's located in a strip mall of 6th and Del Mar Parkway there's more than enough parking for everyone! EATS: For me (and most of the people I know) pho is all about the broth. Their broth tasted like it was lacking something. It just didn't have the depth of flavor I've come to love. Perhaps this batch didn't simmer long enough. I loved that there were large slices of onion in the broth. Nice to mix it up from the usual green onion. There's was plenty of noodles, pieces of meat, served up with the usual plate of bean sprouts, limes, and basil. Portions were quite large! DRINKS: They offered a variety of soft drinks, boba bevvies, and Vietnamese coffee as well. I chose to sip on a Thai iced tea with my meal. It was quite delish! The perfect compliment to my piping-hot pho. SERVICE: The service was pretty standard for a pho spot around lunch time - very efficient. I didn't interact much with the servers aside from being seated, placing my order, and paying for my meal. Pricing was def on point! While Pho Duy was a solid pho spot; IMO there are def better ones to be found in Aurora.

Pros: Good soup Cons: Super small portions. Small amount of noodles AND meat I got the one w rare and well done steak and tendon I had one small tendon. I ate the noodle in about 6 bites. I was hungry so i ordered egg rolls. Thin small egg roles with no lettuce or sides to wrap.

Classic pho, family-owned. Sticks to the basics because the food speaks for itself. Doesn't need bells and whistles when the pho is great

It's been a long time coming but Dan Da is hands down my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Colorado…read moreand probably in the US. When you think of Vietnamese, Americans tend to think of Pho, noodle bowls and lemongrass chicken but we need more places the focuses in home cooking and dishes that locals eat. Ingredients are fresh and dishes pack a powerful flavor bomb...I mean wow! The use of shrimp paste and other traditional ingredients really elevate flavors that many Americans are not used to, but you have to try it to understand. Their claypots are a must order and with a side of rice....you'll be eating for days! The star of the night was the pork and calamari claypot which is cooked in shrimp paste and your favorite Vietnamese spices and herbs. You'll finish bowls of rice with this dish, it packs so much flavor that you'll be wanting more. It's a great mix of salty, sweet and umami from the fermented shrimp paste. The Vietnamese curry was thick and packed with succulent shrimp. The veggies at a very nice brightness to balance out the coconut milk. The last dish we had was a shrimp lemon grass in the clay pot and that was also a hit with everyone! Service is amazing and they definitely know how to recommend dishes to match your taste buds. They went out of the way to help everyone and it shows. If you need a new spot, check Dan Da!

The vibe is warm and relaxed with low lighting and volume. You can choose from booths or a table. The booth was firm yet soft and not worn out or peeling. I ordered the pho with rare steak and two beef ribs. It was only $16 compared to $32 when I order that in Cali. My fiance got pho with well done brisket. The first thing she commented on was how delicious the broth is. It's golden, warm, and savory like a big hug for your insides. I'm picky with my pho broth and this place is on point. I've been in Central California for the past 6 years, so it was great to finally have some PHOnomenal pho. My fiance loves sandwiches and never had a banh mi, so we ordered the grilled beef and it was . She loved it so much that she ordered one to go.

The broth was on the lighter side and lacked depth, and the chicken itself was dry and a bit tough to chew. The vegetable egg rolls were disappointing, they were mushy on the inside and tasted like they were straight from the freezer. The Thai tea was the highlight. Not overly sweet, which I appreciated. Service was a bit hit or miss. It was busy when I came in, which is understandable, but when I went up to pay, I was ignored while the woman at the counter continued talking with her family. Another staff member eventually stepped in to help me. Overall, not a terrible experience, but not one that would bring me back.

I had a dinner reservation for 1 at 5:30pm on a Sunday night. First off, I appreciate that they let me have a table seat to myself. I know a lot of places that want solo diners at the bar. My waitress was absolutely perfect, she gave me such excellent recommendations and really helped shape my meal. Everything she recommended was fantastic. I had 3 dishes, because I wanted to try everything. I would've been fine with 2, since these portion sizes were pretty generous, but I just had to. My first dish was the trứng và trứng - soft scrambled egg, brown butter, fish sauce, trout roe, rice. This was so comforting, so homey, so warm. It was exactly what I needed after a long weekend of working. Get this. My second dish was the tàu hũ ky cuộn tôm - shrimp cake, butter, trout roe, mint. You're probably thinking this is like a fried crab cake, but it wasn't. There's basically no breadcrumbs in this, so it's more like when you get shrimp paste at hot pot. It was so tender, moist, and so flavorful. And of course, my veggie choice was the bắp cải luộc - charred cabbage, anchovy breadcrumbs, egg yolk. My waitress had said this was basically if they put charred cabbage on top of the filling in a deviled egg and she was right. This was so good. If you're into deviled eggs at all, get this.
