Viet advertised as under new ownership but it's the same bs. We haven't eaten here since our last bad experience 5 years ago when they gave us she'llfish when I requested no shellfish due to allergy. But I like to give second chances. Unfortunately not up to par. 1) they charge "to go" fee per food container per entree. Besides the bag fee which is usually 10 cents in Denver I'm not sure why thìs fee existed. 2) portion is ridiculously small for the taste and the price. For $20 per entre to go. You sure skimmed on portion. Not justified. 3) ca kho to. Good but again. Less than 4 thin pieces. My husband couldn't get full. 5) tom rang muối. I was expecting crispy battered fried shrimp in salt and pepper with skin on. They literally used frozen shelless shrimp. Not traditional or quantity sufficient. Look at pic. Be the judge yourself. Viet's has long been one of our favorite restaurants in town, but my love of them has recently increased since we hosted our wedding welcome dinner there. What a great decision - we had 140 people to accommodate, and they were very happy to work with us. The buffet food was delicious (especially the fried shrimp!) and fresh and they kept it coming - our guests had so many compliments about it. The service was efficient and attentive. The space was perfect for a large party, clean and nicely decorated - they even let us use their sound system for speeches and connect our own playlist. Us and all of our guests had a wonderful time and enjoyed a delicious dinner. We will keep coming back to Viet's again and again and recommending it to everyone we know. My personal favorite dishes to order there regularly: the build your own rice-paper wraps ("Viet's 50/50"), and the duck congee. Really everything I've had there has been stellar. read more

Viet's is always so good and I love how authentic the dishes are! My friends and I always love getting spring rolls platter whenever it's served at a Vietnamese restaurant and I really liked this one specifically because they had the weaved type of noodles. We also got the steamed clams and banh beo and it was also tasty. The servers offered us some free oranges at the end of our meal and it was really nice of them. Our group of 11+ a baby walked in after a long weekend in Breckenridge ready to chow down on some Vietnamese food. The restaurant was pretty bright and even had a stage. The food tasted authentic and came out fast too. The menu had so many options to choose from and the prices were fair. Overall a great place to get your Vietnamese food fix. Today was our 4th visit to Viet's and sorry to say, we were disappointed. Ordered the mussels. Arrived luke warm at best and too oily. Should have been sizzling hot and topped with ginger fish sauce. Ordered the vit tiem. Was very good but lacked lotus seed. Finally, ordered com dac biet. Very disappointing. The grilled meats arrived cold, the cha gio was missing, had to ask for it. When it came it was cold, chewy and unappetizing. The pork chop was good. Could have been warmer. The kitchen was uncoordinated. This was such an awesome spot for Vietnamese food. Located in the back corner of New Saigon market, Viet's Restaurant (not to be confused with the Cafe) doesn't necessarily look fancy from the outside. But once you walk in, you are greeted with fish tanks, TVs playing relaxing nature videos, gorgeous decor, and an open, airy-feeling dining area. They have a large stage in the center of the room, and it definitely looks like they can host large events there. The food was phenomenal, and offers more depth and variety than the smaller pho shops along Federal (not talking smack, I love those places too). The service was also fantastic. Really good food with plenty of selection! Nice little place we stumbled upon while visiting Denver. I had the Banh Canh Tom Cua which is a sort of seafood soup that had a unique taste. We also tried this rice appetizer I forgot the name of but feel free to look at the picture below and order it - you'll like it especially if you like fish sauce. I don't have Vietnamese all the time, but the dishes we ordered here were all pretty top notch. Service was quick and easy as well. Found ourselves on federal trying to go to New saigons last weekend but the chef walked out and they weren't seating for 45 min sooo we decided to try Viet. It's in the big plaza off federal Blvd and it looks like a reception hall that converted to a restaurant with lit up stage and clear tables and arches in corner. We got the grilled shrimp spring rolls which were great, when we ordered fried rice and the soft shell crab I said I want crab to come with rice as dinner not appetizer and instead everything came at once - oh well. The rice I did not like, with it coming out with spring rolls it got cold because I wasn't ready to eat it and i personally love the small cube combo fried rice meals not these big pieces of meat. It just didn't feel cohesive. The soft shell crab was oily and just didn't have much flavor besides breading and oil I wish they seasoned and did something on side like a tangy sauce. Overall- may try again but it wasn't my favorite place. read more

This was my second and final visit. The name suggests a Vietnamese restaurant. I suppose it is my own fault for ordering mixed protein "Lo Mein " a rather bland and overly black peppery dish. I was hungry so I ate it but it was admittedly disappointing. What is usually a delicious percolated coffee over condensed milk, the CÀ PHÊ SŨA NÓNG, their version seems to come from a mix container and has nothing to do with fresh coffee. It tasted like a cheap drink from a fast food place. NOTHING Vietnamese about the experience!! read more

It was horrible. You could see the wilting of the green onions. It had actually changed from green to almost black. I couldn't believe I paid for what looked like garbage and leftovers. The soup was even worse, it was so sour that I didn't even open the can. My sister and her friend threw up after trying the first spoonful. It was disgusting and almost fermented. I'm not exaggerating, even if I had it tested I was sure it would be putrefactive. It was so weird that when I called to ask, they didn't understand what I was saying. They even said I didn't order the food when I had a receipt with MY NAME ON IT AS THE PERSON WHO ORDERED. The bun rieu was delicious. I could taste some freshly cracked black pepper on top. I also liked the fresh vegetables they paired with it was well as the iced tea complimentary to every guest, that's a special touch. The spring rolls were freshly made for my order. They tasted very good, sauce was perfect taste and consistency. I haven't found any places here with as good of spring rolls as I did in California though, plentiful to find plump delicious ones there. But anyhow this restaurant reminds me a lot of the large family style vietnamese restaurants back in California. With a huge menu. Docked one star for less than average service, it took a while to be seated and it took too long for a refill. Our family come here for comfort food. This is our go to for canh chua cá kho tộ( catfish sour soup and clay pot fish (catfish), suôn rim (pork in caramel sauce), nothing beats a good comfort food when we crave this canh chua mà ca kho tộ. This was my second time at this restaurant and there was a Chinese New Year Celebration at the shopping center so it was very crowded. My friend ordered a beef dish and wonton soup. For an appetizer, I had spring rolls which were lightly pan-fried and had a yummy peanut sauce. My entre was catfish with ginger sauce and vegetables which was seasoned just right (slightly spicy but not overwhelming). Since I had been there a year ago they added 2 Japanese robots to help the servers. They were fun to watch as they were all lit up in changing colored lights and spoke in cute robot voices. As this location is also a wedding venue it is quite pretty inside with crystal chandeliers, artificial flowers and a beautiful bar. I highly recommend this lovely, cheerful restaurant. The food was delicious. Everything was fresh and made to order. It is located at the southwest corner of Federal and Alameda. We visited the restaurant during Lunar New Year and it was crazy busy. But the wait time didn't take too long. We received our order in a timely fashion, in spite of the crazy Lunar New Year crowds. The wait staff were hustling like mad. Got dayam! Hotter than a clam! Imagine this, it's 1973. Your mom, your dad, his brother, his mother, his sister, and his nephew are evading the Viet Cong in South Vietnam. They're chased into the lush jungle and find an old shack with a bunker hidden under the shanty floor slats. Somehow it's fully stocked with vegatable canned foods and water for years. Scared for their lives, they stay put. A couple months into hiding, you were born. For 13 long years you and your family believe the war to be ongoing and ration off the canned food bit by bit, it's all you know. You've never seen the sun nor have ever felt crust of a warm baguette in your hand. Suddenly the bunker doors open from the outside and local villagers tell you that the war was over 11 years ago. They take you to their village and feed you customary pairing of Canh Chua (sour soup) and Ca Kho To (braised catfish). It's glorious. You then see the light as if heaven was in your mouth. 13 years of your life was stolen from you because you have never tasted such a magnificent pairing of food. But hey, there was also an Atari in the bunker and you became an expert at Pong and later win a world tournament of Pong Atari to win a million dollars. Way to go! read more

I hate to write a bad review especially during this trying time for restaurants. This is my go to Vietnamese restaurant when I want grilled meat and rice. I have been here many times since March to support them. Today, I ordered a grilled beef and egg plate plate. It traditionally comes with cucumbers ( which I asked them to not add) and a side of pickled daikon and carrots ( in a small ziplock bag but not pictured). I got there 5 minutes after the promised time. After I received my food, I immediately opened it because I was so hungry! See picture for before pic, the only thing that was removed was the zip lock bag containing the pickled veggies and fish sauce. What I noticed was the grilled beef is not the same thicker cut of beef that I'm used to getting. This beef is the rare steak you get on your pho and they simply grilled that. It was thin, tough, and COLD! As you can see from picture, you can almost count the number of thin slices I got. I think they try to cut cost so they didn't use the same cut of beef that they traditionally used ( look up pictures of other grilled beef plates posted by fellow yelpers). The rice was lukewarm but it was extremely hard. If you had leftover rice after putting in the refrigerator without Saran Wrap, that is the rice texture I am talking about. I could not even finish 1/3 is the rice and was trying really hard to pick out the softer rice to eat. The only decent thing about the plate was the over easy egg. For $11.60 before tax, the amount and quality of food you get is ridiculous. I will not be patronizing until post pandemic. read more

We always get the lau thai, and in the past when we've brought friends from out of state in, they always ask to visit a second time before leaving Colorado. Located in the back corner of the Far East Center, Viet's restaurant offers a pretty extensive selection of Vietnamese food. Viet's is on the north end of "Little Saigon." Little Saigon runs up and down Federal Blvd and has several pho places and other Vietnamese shops. The Pho Ga was not bad for Denver, CO. I live close to Westminster, CA which is the largest concentration of Vietnamese people in the United States, so I've had all kinds of good Vietnamese food (and I've had Vietnamese food in Vietnam before). When I go to small cities in America, I need to humble myself as I know that the restaurant may be catering to a different crowd--a crowd that is not accustomed to fish sauce and lots of Vietnamese herbs. I like a lot of cilantro, onions, and herbs in my pho; this place skimped a little bit on this. But perhaps this is because their average client does not like these things. This recent visit was a TO GO Order aka TAKE AWAY (Saturday, April 19th 2014). Since earlier that day, I had Brunch with a couple of my beloved Yelpers, and since I need to be in Broomfield, in a couple of minutes away, I decide to go to Viet's Restaurant since they offer Banh Khot in their menu. Time was about 12:52hrs ish. I took picture of the Menu which was the - Banh Khot (14 pieces) - $9.95, that is what is reflected in the Restaurant's Menu. The same price is also featured in their ONLINE menu. While waiting for the order, MANY more patrons, decide to come in to have Lunch at this establishment. Is this a GOOD Sign?? Hmm, only time will tell, Err as for this case, ONLY my taste bud will tell. My order took about 10 to 15 minutes to be ready, since there are OTHER Patrons, having their Lunch at that hour too. Then comes with the Check. While waiting, I even ask the Staff again, if my ORDER ONLY contains SHRIMP. He nodded YES.. ONLY Shrimp he said... The Menu was hence deceiving, incorrect and misleading, coz its stated $9.95, but I was charged for $10.95 for each order. If I have known, these factors, I would just order 1 order/box instead. *SIGH* MAYBE, I should have pointed out to the staffs, the MENU they had, but since I was crunched with time, I decide to just go with the flow. In addition to this, TO GO items there is an additional charge of $0.50. I don't mind paying all these, mind you.. but at least, Viet's Restaurant should be upfront telling or informing their customers about all the "hidden costs"... NOTE TO SELF next time, ask the server or waitstaff, if any of the appetizers contain PORK OR NOT.. DOUBLE CHECK AND EVEN TRIPLE CHECK... The Banh Khot, is good if its HOT. Unfortunately, the Club House I was in, DO NOT have an oven or a microwave, so I cannot heat up those Banh Khot. *SIGH* To my surprise, my friends NEVER had those Banh Khot before, hence they do not know how to eat them. Yes, the order comes with all the condiments of herbs/vegetables, such as Green Lettuce, Slices of Cucumbers, Julienned of Carrots and Daikon, Bean Sprouts, Cilantro, Thai Basil Leaves, Vietnamese Mint and its Nuoc cham as Dipping Sauce. TAKE NOTE, VIET's Restaurant Banh Khot contains PORK... Hence I cannot eat them. All in all, it was just OK - these were the feedbacks from my friends. When it comes to food L.A. is a tough city to compete with. I came here missing some of my favorite food from home. I was craving Banh Beo and Banh Canh and that's exactly what I ordered. The venue was clean and reminded me of the larger traditional Vietnamese restaurants and the service was great (not common in traditional Vietnamese restaurants LOL). The Banh Beo was fresh and the nuoc mam was sweet. Instead of the traditional pork rinds, they used croutons instead which I actually prefer. Tasty crunch. The Banh canh cua was good with thickened broth and half imitation crab meat and real crab however, I would've preferred more uncut noodles. I still miss my mom's home cooked soups. I can't expect too much real crab meat in Denver but I'm happy it fulfilled my cravings. I would definitely take my family here when they come to visit and will come back to try more items on their menu soon. read more

My family and I came here on Tuesday night since Saigon bowl was closed. It's a lot bigger and cleaner over here. We ordered: #8 egg rolls-served with rice noodles #163 Bo luc lac-beef was tender and delicious #19 Goi dac biet- pretty pricey $16. It was decent but I don't think it was worth it #168 Sesame chicken (bf ordered this)- chicken was so hard and dry #158 pork rib with pineapple and veg- meat was fatty and hard, kinda pricey $11 for not much meat #159 grilled pork served with rice noodles and lettuce to wrap. This was a huge portion for only $12. Would def order this again. Overall the meal was good minus a couple dishes. My favorites were the beef and grilled pork. Service was pretty good except when the server kept coming by the table to take our order when clearly we were still looking at the menu and deciding. He must have been by 3 times before we were ready and he seemed annoyed and that annoyed me. It wasn't even busy that night. read more
