Our favorites were the tofu stir fry with lemongrass (no. 157), Vietnamese egg roll (no. 8), and rice with grilled pork chop (nbr. 57). This Viet restaurant gets a solid 5 stars from me for a combination of things that add up to a solid experience. Here's the summary: 1. Easy parking 2. Bright sign/awning easily found 3. Non-Asian friendly Viet's really provides the complete package for a simple enjoyable meal. First, it's located in the Far East Center which makes it easy enough to find and easy enough to park (parking is debatable I suppose). Arriving at this plaza with no knowledge of Viet's would result in some decisions to be made as there are a few other Viet options in the plaza and neighborhood. Deciding on Viet's will probably be your best move. Entering this restaurant you're instantly greeted by one of the many servers who will more than happily seat you. The decor is simple and unlike other Vietnamese restaurants isn't over the top with either the lighting, posters of Vietnamese singing competitions or other tackiness. As simple as it is, it is inviting. The menu here also provides an extensive offering of dishes many of which the server is more than happy to explain to you. Which is also what makes this place so friendly for non-Asians. There was a particular dish I was looking for but was uncertain of due to the similarity in description to another dish. All was settled quickly with a little assistance. Portions were large and unlike other places they don't skimp on the extra dressings or the ingredients of your dish. Surprisingly the quality of everything was extremely fresh and bountiful. Prices are extremely competitive which makes it an excellent value. The only danger of coming to Viet's is over stuffing yourself which is definitely what I ended up doing. You see my dining companion and I ended up getting the Bo Cuon Banh Trang (slices of grilled marinated beef served on vermicelli with lettuce and rice paper wraps), Bun Dac Biet (grilled shrimp, prok, beef and spring roll on top of vermicelli) and a bowl of Pho with extra meatballs. Definitely overloaded. A nice touch to the end of the meal was the complimentary mung bean (green bean) dessert. It provided a nice warm and slightly sweet soothing conclusion to a meal. read more

My girlfriend and I met for lunch at Viets. She had a beautiful noodle soup and I had #116. 116 was a pancake with vegetables. I would not order this again because it was greasy and the vegetables were peas and carrots ( probably from frozen). It did not seem anything special. The real rub was the dirtiness of the women's bathroom. My friend and I decided to avoid the use of the bathroom. I would have given a higher rating but cleanliness of bathroom is important to me as a diner. Also, if bathrooms aren't clean, what about the kitchen? read more

Every other time has been great except for today, we were not greeted but when a worker finally came up to us she simply help up three fingers and we said it's four of us not three. She rolled her eyes and proceeded to seat us, she practically threw the menus at us. I myself work at a restaurant too and I understand that people may have off days and not be too happy about dealing with customers but That's not an excuse to make guests feel not taken care of. This is a solid Vietnamese place to go an eat. Their lobster preparation here is very good, particularly the tamarind style. I have ordered many types of dishes and all have been solid as well. They are located in the Far East Center in the back corner. Viet's is a smaller sized restaurant located in Federal's Far East Center.If you have never been to the Far East Center, parking can be difficult to find during peak hours. But, I think that the parking hassle is well worth it for Viet's Restaurant! I really love how they serve you a light aroma tea instead of water. This is perfect for me because I always prefer tea to water. I'm a huge fan of congee type meals and I love the Combination Cháo (Cháo Lòng) at Viet's. The portion size is huge and the protein inside is plentiful. Of course the taste is great as well. To be honest, I think this dish is a steal for its price. It costs around $7. I've also had a spring roll with shrimp and pork as an appetizer. Spring rolls aren't too difficult to mess up. But, the app was pretty tasty. And I believe that the peanut dipping sauce was delicious and made an absolute difference to the app. If you are looking for a cheaper, but tasty app, I do recommend the spring rolls with the peanut dipping sauce! Have been here many times but won't return. We had a family gathering of 11 and spent $400. There were only 2 other tables of 2. The service is as terrible. The waiter refused to let us order rice cakes. Each person's meal came out one at a time so that the last person was getting their meal after the first was finished. When taking the order, the waiter almost forgot to take 4 people's order. There were 2 waiters and one waitress and they couldn't take care of basics like refilling drinks. This is currently my favorite Vietnamese Restaurant. The price is definitely not the lowest, but fair. They have many of the great dishes that New Saigon has, but much lower. The servers are awesome, very friendly! A lot of Vietnamese restaurants in Denver have a mix Vietnamese and Chinese menu, but Viet's is more Vietnamese than most. You can actually find many very authentic dishes in the menu, and many dishes that I grew up eating at home. I feel like I can go here to eat a fancy Vietnamese meal, or a simple home cook meal. If there's one thing I want on a cold, rainy night, it's pho, and lots of it. Turns out the early bird gets the pho round these parts, with almost every Vietnamese restaurant closing at 9 pm or earlier. I'm somewhat of a night owl and was hoping for a piping hot bowl a little later than that, so I was super happy to come across Viet's and their 10 pm closing time. I also remembered that a super lovely Vietnamese friend had once told me about this place, which was even more reason to go. Viet's is in a strip mall with a big oriental sign that says "Far East Center," right at the corner of South Federal and Alameda. When we arrived around 9:15 pm, it was the only business still open in the little mall (although we took a stroll around after our meal and I definitely want to go back during the daytime!). We were greeted by a super friendly host and seated immediately--now that I think of it, everyone who worked there, from our server to the guy mopping the floors on our way out, was incredibly friendly. The restaurant is really big and has a pink-lit stage and dance floor on one side. There were no performances that night, but again, I'd love to come back to see one! We perused the (pretty huge) menu and put in an order for spring rolls, a large chicken ph, an order of cá kho t (caramelized catfish), and chem chép sà t (lemongrass mussels). We were really hungry and typically order more than we could ever possibly eat, but we loved the food so much that we almost finished it all! The only thing we went home with was a to go container of chicken pho, which I happily slurped up for lunch the next day. Had to knock one star because my wine was brought out in a dirty glass (it had lipstick on it and the base was sticky). The restaurant isn't the cleanest feeling in general, but it was the tail end of the night and it seems like this place that's pretty busy all day long. They're opening a bahn mi shop right next door--yet another reason for me to come back ASAP! read more

If you're looking for a bun bo hue (spicy Vietnamese beef noodle soup), pho, banh khot, lemongrass squid, or any other Vietnamese dish you can imagine, look no further. I thought I had found the best bun bo hue elsewhere, but this one is always the most flavorful and consistent with the tender Beef, pork feet, pork loaf, and pork blood! It's a must try and a must eat every time! The waiters and waitresses always deliver the best service topping off waters consistently, asking if you need anything else, and bringing out your meals in less than 10 minutes. They have moved next door from the previous location, and there is always a new renovation every time we come in. This place is coming together nicely! After spending a whole day in Denver eating nothing but fried and grilled American food. We needed to cleanse our palette with something more refreshing. Our first day in Denver and we noticed there were no Asians in this city at all! Luckily, thanks to Yelp we found that there was a small pocket of Asian businesses, mostly Vietnamese, along Federal Blvd. There are a lot of Pho/Vietnamese establishments to choose from in this area of Denver. I randomly chose Viet's as it is situated in an Asian plaza with plenty of parking. We're from Seattle, we have a lot of authentic Vietnamese restaurants and a sizable Vietnamese population.. So we know good Vietnamese cookin'. We were a bit skeptical since Colorado is a majority white state we refused to believe that the Vietnamese cuisine here would cater to towards the authentic palette and more-so towards the dominant population of Denver. We were a bit surprised to see an all Vietnamese staff and the amount of items on the menu. I went with their bun bo hue with that swine blood and their shrimp paste and sugar cane. My buddies ordered pho and bun rieu(crab noodle soup). Food came fairly quickly and the portions are HUGE! In Seattle, a regular/small bowl of pho will cost you $8.50 before tax and tip. $8.75 at Viet's gets you their regular size pho but it's equivalent to XL sized bowl in Seattle. Talk about cheap and filling! Their shrimp paste n sugar cane was delicious. Came already pre-sliced for us loaded with DIY wrap, lettuce, sprouts and fish sauce. My bun bo hue was so large I couldn't finish it. I did find that the broth wasn't rich enough for my taste and the swine blood not as fresh as I normally like it. Overall, my noodle soup was good and filling. Our bill for us four? $65 before tip! I love Denver's insanely cheap food and low sales tax! I'm knocking off one star because our waiter rushed to take away our dishes before we could even finish. We sometimes like to sit around and pick at our dishes. read more

Having dinner during a Vietnamese Festival is a bad idea here unless you have unlimited time. One guy working and a bunch of staff just looking at customers walking in. Kudos to the young man serving, bussing & bartending. Seen so many customers walk out. Missed business for sure. Proper staffing would be great. Unfortunately I have to give a bad rating to short staff (Not because they are literally short in size) but their DJ needs to tone down the music sound a bit. Blaring music at 5am like it's a club is probably not a good idea unless you want your customers to walk out, which I've witnessed a couple times while I was here. read more

It was mothers day and this place wasted 40 minutes of my time when I needed to go somewhere important. We came in first before another table that had came in 10 minutes later. My family was here for the wedding on Saturday, and the customer service was terrible. They didn't provide water, I have to asked 3 times to get a glass of waters for my 10 year old daughter. I asked for the new plates, it never came. When we ask for desert the lady said they don't have enough and screamed at my daughter that she has to wait. They're located right next to Saigon Bowl, which is like the most popular Vietnamese Restaurant in Denver, FAIL! For food, appetizers, we ordered Crawfish, and Snails. The crawfish is not yummy at all! It doesn't taste fresh. So, I'm just gonna stick to Yabby Hut for that! And the snails, are really yummy, :) their so tiny, so you pick it out with a tooth pick. And I dip it in mixed fish sauce. For our main meal, we decided to do a hot pot on the table, in front of us. We ordered something called "Lua" its a Vietnamese soup with seafood, and noodles. I was soooo disappointed. Our what was suppose to be "Lua" did NOT taste like it at all! It tasted like this other soup called "Canh Chua" its also known as Tom Yum, for Thai people. And I actually really like Canh Chua too, but I prefer eating it with rice, and instead of having all that mussels, scallops, squid and octopus, like Lua, I rather have it with just fish. If I could rate this place zero stars, I would! Our last visit here was Sunday lunch with a group of 5. We were seated towards the back bar, even though the large tables up by the cashiers were open and setup already. Ordered 4 items. Viets half appetizer, soup, shaken beef and a clam dish. In 60 minutes, only brought out the Viets appetizer. During that time, waters never refilled, no plates or utensil. Wait staff (3 of them) were scratching their fronts and behinds, from inside their pants while in the dining area. Horsed around by grabbing each others chest, whipping each other with towels and generally doing a whole lot of nothing. Soup, shaken beef and clam dish never arrived. Flagged wait staff to inquire, staff pretended not to see. Walked up to cashier/manager to close out ticket, manager claims the kitchen was backed up and food will be out shortly. (There was only 2 other tables of 2 in the restaurant). Manager told a worker to go into the kitchen and a few seconds later, I hear the wok going. Shaken beef brought out, veggies under beef looked said. Only 8-9 chunks of beef, the couple pieces we took were burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. Can someone say rush job? Put the 2 pieces back on the plate, walked up to the manager with the plate and told him this is unacceptable. Told him don't bother trying to rush the other items, I'll pay for the appetizer which was the only item brought out. Manager said OK, printed out the check and I noticed our entire order was still there. Told him I'm not paying for items I did not receive. He muttered under his breathe in vietnamese some curse words and accused us of trying to scam a meal off him. I replied in Vietnamese that I understand him won't be coming back. He was shocked and quickly removed the items, but left a gratuity charge on the check. I told him no, I'm not paying for that and left exact money on the check. I had been wanting to try Viet's ever since a friend told me about an article he read somewhere about their Beef 7 Ways dish (#148 - Bo 7 Mon). I have no idea why I hadn't made it in there before, but when another friend said he wanted to go there for his birthday I was more than ready. No need to twist my arm and make me say uncle, so we went there last Friday night. Viet's is located in the Far East Center, a shopping area with lots of little Asian shops and restaurants, most being Vietnamese. The parking can be chaotic at times but we had no problem finding a spot right in front of Viet's. I was surprised that it wasn't busier inside, I figured we'd have to wait a bit for a table on a Friday but we were seated right away. Once we were in our seats it did take a LONG time to get someone to come and take our order. Not a good start to the dinner at all, luckily the service got much better. We ordered some beers and apps, going for cheese wantons (crazy good) and some Vietnamese egg rolls (not bad). Then we went in for the cow, asking them to please begin the beef parade! The first wave was a ceviche dish, a steak salad, and a soup made with ground beef, rice, and ginger. The last 4 all come on a single platter and included: beef wrapped shrimp, beef wrapped fish, seaweed wrapped beef, and thin strips of what looked like brisket. Everything on the table was really good! I liked the freshness of the veggies used in the dishes. They brought us lettuce wrap fixins (sprouts, herbs, pickled veggies) and a stack of spring roll wrappers with the food. After a quick tutorial from the waiter on how to dip the spring roll wrappers in the bowl of hot water he brought we were on our way to making the freshest spring rolls you can imagine! Dip them before stuffing them with meat and veggies, roll them like a burrito, and then a quick plunge in the dipping sauce. Mmmmm, so good! read more

My family and I were downtown and decided to come here because it was new. Background history, we'd been here before when they used to be a venue and my cousin hosted her wedding here. We came at like, 11 AM and it was completely empty. As such, we were seated immediately, and by the manager too, who was extremely nice. The menu had a good variety of typical Vietnamese dishes you would find in other restaurants. The food came out about 7 minutes later. Their portions were larger than average. The taste and consistency was pretty delicious. However, as my mom was finishing up her Bun Bo Hue, she found a dead bug that appeared to be like a grasshopper floating around in her broth. We called up the staff and the manager apologized and offered to make her a new one. Even as we declined, he insisted that we could have something free in compensation to her discovery. We got another dish to-go, as we were all full and kind of lost our appetites. The manager came to our table again and offered my dad a coffee. Overall, I'd say it wasn't TOO bad. You might have different perceptions of what's disgusting but that grasshopper wasn't too gross. The ambience was very venue-y, as there were tables and booths, but still a huge dance floor. I love this place. Not only is it great Vietnamese food- from the Viet's special where you dip stiff circles of rice paper into hot water and then build your own spring roll from piles of tasty morsels if grilled beef, crabs, shrimp or pork with fresh crispy cucumber, basil, mint and bean shoots. But also the pho, the bun bowls of cool rice noodles with crunchy fresh veg and a fish sauce tangy tart dressing, it's all good. I can't get really good Thai anywhere in Denver ( coming from years of Thai in L.A.) but Viet's has made me a fan of Vietnamese food now. And my favorite thing about Viet's is if you are lucky you can catch a wedding reception happening while you eat. read more

I enjoyed this place! It has a pretty extensive menu, and there are other items you can order which are not on the menu. My GF and I came here for lunch after it was suggested by another Yelper. We ordered the Bun Dac Biet - grilled shrimp, pork, beef and chicken rice noodle bowl, the Ca Sau Nuong Sa - grilled crocodile, and because I wanted to try something different, Goi Dac Biet - jellyfish, squid, shrimp, pork and clam salad. I thought the crocodile was really good! It was nicely seasoned and tasted like chicken! If chicken tasted like pork. My GF also liked it but didn't eat much of it because she couldn't get over the fact that it was crocodile. I've never had a bad rice noodle bowl, and I was not disappointed with this one. It was pretty similar to rice noodle bowls at other locations which is perfectly fine with me! The sea critter salad was good. If you like that kind of stuff. It is a salad so everything in it is cold. I do prefer my sea critters warm! I didn't care for the clams on the salad. The squid was ok but the shrimp, pork and jellyfish were all good. The salad had also had nice fresh vegetables, mint leafs and a sweet dressing. The presentation of the food was very nice. And there was a LOT of food! We ate till we were full, and we still took home two boxes of leftovers! Where most restaurants I have been to serve complimentary water with the meal, Viets serves iced green tea which was nice and refreshing on such a hot day! The entire meal cost just under $40 which I thought was pretty good for the quantity and quality of food.
