Overall my experience was just OK. I had high expectations due to all the great reviews. It was quite a let down. I ordered pho as well as the shrimp and beef spring rolls and Vietnamese coffee for pick up the other day. When I arrived the man who greeted me seemed like he was having a bad day. The experience wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything great either. It was OK. I tried to make conversation to make the experience less awkward but it didn't really work. When I got to work w my baggie, I realized that all the gave me for my pho order was the soup in one container and the beef, noodles and onions in another. I didn't have any sprouts, mint/basil or jalapeños. I also didn't have any oyster sauce or sriracha. I admit I didn't ask for it when I ordered but I've never had to in other places. My take out pho also came with the sides without me asking for it. That was a huge bummer. I love sprouts. The soup was still good. I got well done brisket and flank and the meat was very tasty and tender. The broth was delicious. I had high expectations on the spring rolls due to the reviews. The sauce was fantastic but the rolls itself was OK. The lettuce was a little soggy. I may be willing to give it another try. Legit Vietnamese spot. We've had both the shrimp and chicken pho, shrimp pad Thai, egg rolls and wontons. The egg roll portion is pretty small, but they're good. The wontons are delicious, but I might be biased. I love onions and the filling is full of green and white onions. They enforce the COVID-19 precautions, so that's appreciated. This isn't a complaint because I think it's just a result of the times we live in. If you plan to dine in, give yourself time because you might have to wait for a table so your party won't exceed the 25 person limit inside. My wife and I were in the mood for a new pho place close by. We live in the Northfield area and decided to give it a go. When we arrived we noticed it is located on a busy corner and the parking lot is a bit tight. May be a bit of a problem if this place gets super busy. But don't let that prevent you from trying this place! It's been open for about 4 months and you would have never known! I have been to a lot of pho places and this was by far one of my favorite! We started with spring rolls for our appetizer and the peanut sauce was delish! I love that they have the sauce warmed up. I ordered a medium pho with a variety of meats and my wife had a rice noodle bowl. The veggies for my pho was super fresh and they weren't stingy with the limes! The broth was superb and the meat was delish. My wife said she really enjoyed the rice noodle bowl. Would have given 5 stars but the wait staff seemed a bit short handed and took a while for our order. They had also forgotten my wife's fish sauce but that was taken care of right away. From the minute we walked in we were impressed with the quick attentive service. They were a little busy but we were quickly sat at a booth. They continued to have a nice dinner pace and the restaurant was taken care of. Menus, utensils and water brought immediately. I had the small white chicken pho w/extra noodles & my mom had the small vegetarian pho. I've never had pho with carrot, cabbage and broccoli but it was good. Also never tired with white meat chicken and it was delicious! Pho hits the spot when you're fighting a cold! This is the only pho restaurant in Aurora that my old school Lao dad will eat at. The current owners used to own the Pho 75 on Havana way back in the day and it was so nice to find them again. They're always very friendly which is important because service at pho restaurants can be kinda spotty. I usually get a #6 and my dad gets a combo pho and there is always plenty of meat. Tonight I ordered a chicken vermicelli bowl to go and I don't think I've ever gotten a bowl with so much chicken. I think next time I'll definitely ask for an extra fish sauce just because they give you so much chicken and noodles. read more

This might be my new favorite pho place in Aurora. It's located where the Blue Lagoon restaurant used to be, on 17th and Peoria, and has same decor for the most part. Ordered the egg rolls and a medium pho combination. Egg rolls were delicious and it came with lettuce, rice noodles, mint and pickled carrots/radish so you could make a small wrap. Fish sauce was sweet more than tart which is my preference. The pho broth was good and decent portions of meat and noodles. Menu also had rice and noodle bowls, boba drinks, banh mi sandwiches and chicken salad, all of which I will definitely try some time in the near future. Friendly service and food was at the table promptly. Limited parking up front but worth looking for a space if you crave some authentic Vietnamese food. read more

One caveat, the usual side saucer of fresh basil and sprouts - the latter, not so fresh tonight. However, the fresh lime, beautifully chopped , and the unexpected jalapeño , made up for this. I hear many people argue who has the best Pho ... in case you didn't know, Pho is a Vietnamese soup with various ingredients but ... some of which are broth, wonderful rice noodles as opposed to wheat based); , herbs, and of course The Pho often contains meat, sometimes chicken. Amazing amazing!!!!!! Got 4 things, and each one was the best version of that dish that I've EVER had, and each had a unique and subtle twist to it. And it doesn't give you the typical sick feeling after that some places have. I got the Vietnamese egg rolls, crab and cream cheese wontons and what I think was the Bu Lou Lac (I let the server chose something for me and it was phenomenal!). Which brings me to the environment and staff, best wait staff I have encountered in a while, scratch that, best wait staff and environment I've encountered! Friendly, helpful, everything you want when you go out to eat. I didn't catch the servers name but he was personable and funny, and it seemed to be the norm amongst all of them. I just came in to get some sushi to go, but the previous restaurant that was there shut down and I figured I give this place a shot, so happy I did. The place was clean, and the bathroom was kind of impressive, they really put money into it. As I was sitting there I could smell the Pho being served around me and, it's smelt amazing! I will definitely be going back! This is the kind of place that you can't help but rave about, but are hesitant to share because you don't want 1 hour long waits or no parking... Two guys working here has superb service mentality. Very friendly and hardworking, they are both assets to this establishment. Especially Michael was very friendly. For the pho, it has delicious broth but my noodles were over cooked and falling apart. They give you a great amount of noodles, as a small after hang over meal I got a small pho, grilled pork spring rolls and Vietnamese iced coffee. Perfect for putting you back on track after a night out. One of the biggest problems is the horrible entrance/exits. If you live in the neighborhood you should definitely add this to your list of regular places to eat out. I live in Seattle and the quality of pho at Pho Peoria is at par with what we get on the west coast. That's saying a lot considering pho is the chicken noodle soup of the Pacific Northwest and I eat it no less than once a week. 3 different portion sizes for the pho and an abundance of sprouts, fresh basil, jalepenos, and limes were all great touches and add value to the dining experience. Admittedly, while I found the pho delicious, the fried crab cheese wontons were superb. I have never had them like they make them here (big and loaded to the brim with crab and cheese). I generally avoid them when I eat out because they're "Americanized" Asian food but they were a wonderful surprise to our meal. The service here is also great. The waiter (owner?) was incredibly friendly and helpful. He definitely provided the "friendly neighborhood restaurant" vibe which is exactly what we Seattleites look for in our pho restaurants. read more
