I ordered a delivery from Doordash. I personally wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone! First, the food doesn't taste good. I am not sure if it's because I ordered a delivery. I don't mind when I got it, the soup is warm. However, I saw a red raw beef on my rice noodle and apparently with this warm soup, the meat won't be well-cooked! Second, I had a ice coffee with condensed milk, which tastes super bitter. You might like it if you enjoy bitter coffee. But I got the coffee which is only half of the cup! Had the best experience here today!!! Not sure about the bad reviews. I was meeting some friends for lunch and I was warmly greeted by not just one, but three waiters!! They were very attentive and quick. I ordered the #15 with no tripe (no organ meat please) and they delivered it piping hot and tasty!! I added some sambal and it was perfect. Use to enjoy going to this place. Placed an phone order and was told it would be about a 15 minute wait. Awesome. Showed up 20 after placing the order and a guy led me to a bar area asked for my name and order and began preparing other orders. 15 minutes later a different waiter comes up to me and ask what I am waiting for. He checks on it and tells me they haven't even started it yet. At this point I just ask for a refund as it'll be 50 minutes from when I placed my order and I have to leave keep in mind this is just for an order of noodles. Ten minutes go by and the guy gives me a receipt and he charged me for another order at a completely different price. It was very flavorful and had so much meat which can be hard to find. We've been ordering a lot of pho during the pandemic. Pho Pasteur does a great job of packaging up their meals for take-out/delivery. Everything comes separately so that you can arrange your noodle soup in a bowl. The meat and vegetables are very fresh, and the broth is rich. Their thai tea is always good, too, very strong and sweet. Prices are reasonable, especially the prices for adding extra meat and noodles. They are very generous with extras! I recommend heating the soup up in a pot before pouring it on your pho so that it's extremely hot and will cook the meat for you. read more

Sigh......When placing an order, do it online to avoid errors!!! We called in our order since we were in the area. Ordered: Lemongrass Chicken Rice Plate, Catfish Claypot and Beef Pho. The Pho is good. It has a lot of meat for an xlarge. Not like other places that it's more noodle and same meat portion. That's where things end. Catfish was very salty and fishy like the fish is not fresh. There were pieces in there that looks like the end pieces of the fish that got thrown in. Lastly, Lemongrass Chicken RICE PLATE. I'm not sure how much more clear do I need to be when I didn't check for the menu number. The menu has this item under rice plate #46 and entree #84. The difference is #46 serves with a butterflied chicken thigh over rice and #84 is pieces of sliced chicken breast meat sautéed with veggies and a side of rice. So I ended up with #84 entree even though I said RICE PLATE. The sad part of this is when we went home to discover it was the entree, we called the restaurant to explain we received the wrong order. Granted they tried (key word) to correct the mistake by remaking the dish again and refunding the dish. Hubby came back and it was the same damn entree again!!! Advice would be to make sure to order by the number. I would recommend their beef Pho. Last note is parking can be an issue at times. read more

Some people do the spa; I do pho ga. I've been to a lot of pho places and this one in particular several times. I always order the same thing-- the pho ga, or chicken noodle soup. It comes with fresh lime, bean sprouts, and basil, all of which are fresh and go into the soup after I taste the broth. The broth is very tasty, deep and rich. Every time, everything is good. LUNCH REVIEW This place is pho real. OK, now that I got that out of my system, the review can continue. I have come to Pho Pasteur a couple of times in between work meetings nearby and have been pleased both times. The setting is very unassuming and there is no fancy decor...this place focuses on the food, or rather, the phood. I have had both the rare steak pho and the chicken pho (pho ga)...both are delicious and not things I would even contemplate attempting to make at home. I love cooking and this is just something I admit I cannot make as good as the pros. The broth is just too damn good. I always get the extra large because I don't get pho often and I want to indulge but that is A LOT. The large, or the small even, is enough for most people Be sure to load it up with the basil and bean sprouts, plus fresh lime and hot sauce. BEWARE...the lower the broth level gets, the more concentrated the spice gets so if you don't think it's spicy when you add hot sauce at the beginning, it will only get spicier. I made another visit tonight. The restaurant was on the slow side but by the time we left three more parties had entered but it wasn't enough to fill the establishment. We started with the fried quail appetizer and an order of fresh spring rolls. The quail came out dry, to quote my aunt, it looked "pathetic". It was cooked beyond well done- it was literally fried to a crisp. Forget tenderness, the meat was tough. And it cost $9.35. It tasted like it looked. See picture. The fresh spring rolls weren't any better. It wasn't wrapped tight enough and there wasn't much filing. The accompanying sauce was too sweet. I ordered a small pho #21. It wasn't anything special as the broth didn't taste like it should have . It lacked pho broth flavor, no personality, no amount of Thai basil could rescue it. Our server was nice enough. I don't blame him for sitting in the back with his colleagues as there weren't too many tables to wait on. I won't be back a third time. I've never gone here during the prime meal times so when come the place is not full. My family has dined her a few times already and every time the food has been great. My sister loves getting the pork chop noodle soup and says the pork chop is flavorful and tender. I think probably one of of the 10+times she's ordered it that it came out dry. That's not a bad track record. This time I got the beef with lemongrass rice dish and it was amazing. Spicy but very num. There was enough sauce to go with the bowl of rice which I love. The pho was hot and delicious. (The one in Chinatown serves lukewarm pho.) The one that I would recommend was dac biet ($9.50). It was 1/2 meat and 1/2 noodles. Service was prompt and quick. Bathrooms were nice and clean. It was all the way in the back. The only thing for improvement was that the restaurant was very warm. Even the servers had a glow on their faces. The dish seems a bit bland and Americanized. It doesn't have blood puddings and not spicy at all which I think it's a must to be truly authentic. The cool autumn weather finally kicked in so my cousin and I dedicated to warm up our lives with some pho. We've got a usual spot however we wanted to try something new this time around. Pho Pasteur was the restaurant with the best reviews. She ordered the beef pho and I got my usual bun bo hue. I always get nervous because you never know how spicy a place will make it. To my surprise it was actually quite mild, so I added some siracha to enhance the flavor. Funny thing is, our usual spot makes it especially spicy so it's nice to be able to add in the spice as opposed to bearing through the heat. I do prefer this location over the one in China Town. I was dining with 3 other people, and were able to be in and out inside the hour. Our service was quick, friendly, and polite.
