This place definitely did not exceed my low expectations. The decor was clean and new and not tacky. The quality of food was fine but it was exceptionally bland and most things were overly sweet. We had the fried quail; it was fine but lacked any flavor besides sweet. The Canh Chua Ca with catfish was overly sweet, the catfish was muddy, it was missing depth, rau ram and taro stalks/celery. The cabbage shrimp/chicken combo was fine but it wasn't as zesty as I expected and I barely tasted cilantro or mint. The claypot pork was just so damn sweet. I was also expecting pork belly but it was just pork with an unnecessary amount of red onion. I usually order "Bun Bo Hue, Beef Stew Noodle, Grilled Chicken with rice, etc." Today, I ordered Grilled Chicken Rice and it was a huge portion of rice and a quarter of chicken leg. This place is great. Ok just my first time here but I've heard about the other locations and wanted to try it. I ordered the extra large bowl of soup which included quite a few different meat items. And it was huge. I ate much of it but asked for the rest to be taken home for my lunch tomorrow. It also had lots of rice noodles and a side of bean sprouts which I added in. And some other stuff too. Really loaded. Various add ons were on the side too. Sriracha sauce. Salt and pepper. Soy sauce. Hoisin sauce. And some other I guess spicy sauce that was unlabeled. Came to try out this pho joint since my favorite one was closed for renovations. I tell you what...I won't be back here again. Most pho places serve the fresh pho noodles. But noooo....I got a large bowl of the dry noodles that needed to be soaked before blanching. The noodles were all small, broken and basically fell apart when picking it up with the chopstick. Ordered tofu cabbage salad, chicken rice plate, vegetarian pad thai, durian and Jack fruit shake. Should have known better to order pad thai at a Vietnamese restaurant, it was nothing like pad thai; overcooked vermicelli with been sprouts topped with soft soy sauce tofu. Worst of all the entire dish just tasted burnt. Jack fruit and durian shakes taste like the juices left over from a canned fruit, not like your typical smoothie. It's the MOST DISHONEST and RUDEST restaurant EVER. I ordered two beef X-Large pho plus one Large pho as take out tonight. I was in a rush so didn't have time to check my order at the restaurant. When I finally got home, I found out there were only one X-Large and Large pho in the bag. So I called them. HOWEVER a girl picked up the first call and HUNG UP on me IMMEDIATELY right after I mentioned that they messed up my order. Then I called AGAIN and it transferred me straight to voicemail. Then I called the THIRD time, a guy picked up and started acting like the SIGNALS DOWN that they couldn't hear me which was FAKE AF. All I want was just a simple apology. I had a great experience here. I ordered the fried rice with tofu and it was yummy, if a little oily. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals as well. All of the waiters were really nice and attentive in filling up our waters. This is a great place for Chinese in Quincy and it's in a very central location. We were really excited that a pho restaurant opened up right down the street from our apt. The restaurant itself is pretty clean and inviting. The staff are also attentive and accommodating. However, the food wasn't great. The pho broth was decent, but the temperature of the broth is what bothered me. It was so lukewarm! I noticed how lukewarm the broth was on our first visit about a month ago. The meat in my pho didn't cook all the way because the broth cooled down so fast. My husband got the BBQ pork ribs, which he said tasted very bland, as well. We decided to give the restaurant another shot. Just to make sure, I asked our server to make the broth really hot. But once again, the broth was served lukewarm. Since the restaurant is so close to our place, we went a third time hoping the broth situation was just a mishap! Nope! The broth was still served lukewarm, even after we sent it back for hotter broth. This location just opened today Eating here was like having lunch with an old friend who has had a makeover - the food was just as delicious and inexpensive as it is at the downtown location, while the location is sparkly new (and the chairs haven't been broken in yet, so they're super comfy). Food was good. Solid Vietnamese here in Quincy. I knocked a star because the servers we had, yes server(s) as in 2, both barely understood English. I'm not saying this from like the perspective of someone who doesn't spend time around Vietnamese folks. I went to HS with loads of Viet folks and even though some spoke broken English, i could still get what they were saying. These two guys we had tonight, i could barely understand what they were saying... and they brought out two wrong items that we carefully explained we DIDN'T want. Someone else mentioned Pho Countryside up the road and it's true, i think their pork is a bit more tasty... but not overwhelmingly better. I say, give this place a couple weeks. Popped on over for lunch and here is my takeaway: I ordered the Seafood soup with clear noodles also known as Hu Tieu. Although the broth landed a B+ in my book, I was disappointed with the noodles-they needed maybe 2 more minutes of cooking time as they were al dente. My boyfriend had their Pho Dac Biet and was excited to see pink in the meat, (it's customary to cook the rest of the meat from the hot steaming broth) however, in this case, his broth was just lukewarm which left his meat sad and a little too pink. Lastly, and I know I will sound crazy for it, they may need to rethink their broth bowls; they just aren't ergonomic.There is a high likelihood that your broth will spill over as the bowl is shallow and wide. The restaurant just opened, so of course there are a few kinks they need to work out. I will definitely be sure to give this place another go in a few months! p.s I was VERY PLEASED with their Vietnamese iced coffee!! I am 100% sure they actually use condensed milk which is refreshing to know as I find that another beloved Viet restaurant in Quincy uses ice cream as a cheaper alternative... read more

Ordered extra large beef noodle soup, but it seems the noodles aren't well cooked. All my noodles are sticked together like a doe, and it chews like a doe as well. However unlike most other negative reviews said, I found the waiters there are pretty friendly hence I tipped extra on my server. Maybe they worked on that based on the feedback? But I do hope they put more attention on the food as well. Language is a problem here, there is a 3 out of 5 chance your waiter doesn't understand anything you said but the menu items. Went in this morning around 10:30 and was greeted and seated right away as they just opened 30 min prior and only one table was in use. All three of us ordered the same #21 pho. Food came out fairly quickly. We asked for forks but it took so long that we tried our best with chopsticks and forks came out when we were pretty much finished. They did not give us the usual garnishes that went with the pho (mint leaves, bean sprouts, lime). We were sort of in a hurry so we didn't ask for it but the waiter eventually came at the end with the plate of garnishes and apologized for the delay. We also asked for hot oil b/c the broth had no flavor so we wanted to spice it up but the waiter had not a clue what we were talking about. One of two places we get pho from in Quincy. This place is great! The staff are kind, the owners are very hard working. During pre COVID, it was a good place to meet for a meal since it's walking distance to the train. The menu is extensive and I recommend you call ahead for takeout if you need an excuse to safely explore outside your home. I have been to the China Town location and I was a bit skeptical because that location was not my favorite. However I can say the Quincy location is a 100% better! I live in Quincy and ordered food to pick up... finding parking in Quincy Center can be a challenge but it was worth it! I got a Bún dish with vermicelli and grilled sliced beef along with an order of fried egg rolls. SO DELICIOUS. Greeted at the door and my order was ready and fresh. I used to swear by my favorite Chinese restaurant but this food was so delicious and well priced, the lettuce, bean sprouts and vegetables were fresh so I almost felt healthier (LOL). We walked in around 3-4pm on a Friday surprised to see an entirely empty restaurant despite its well-known name and the big "GRAND OPENING" banner on the window outside. I've had Pho Pasteur's beef noodle soup (pho) in Boston's Chinatown and found it to be average. I found that their broth was better than most pho places I've tried, and their eye-round steak is tender rather than overly-chewy. I took some stars off due to their customer service. I ordered a small special with no onions. This included the eye-round steak, beef flank, tripe, and tendon with no onions. When I got my bowl, it was missing the last 3 meats, except I didn't realize it until a couple bites in. I asked if I had ordered the right meal and the waiter said yes and immediately offered to swap my bowl for a new one. He came back about 5 minutes later with a new bowl and all the listed ingredients, except forgot to take out my onions (there were lots of it). In addition to the misunderstanding, our waiter also forgot our ice waters despite several requests. I was disappointed with the service and didn't feel like they delivered on a "grand opening" scale. Hopefully I'll be able to give them another chance (and vice versa) with due time. read more

We gave this place a try once three months ago but I never got a chance to write a review until now. The place was clean and the owner had warmly greeted us. Unfortunately I can't give them a full 5 stars because of the quality of food. We ordered two #19 and the description said it would come with flank and tripe. Our bowls never came with them. And the broth was a bit too plain. Maybe because of our taste buds. The Nem Cuong or Ham spring roll was nothing compared to pho countryside's. The roll itself was a bit messy, you could actually see where the chef placed their hands/fingers to roll it. Just imagining it kind of made me lose my appetite for it.
