It's easy to drive by this place and not notice it, but it's well worth noticing. The food is incredible and the service is friendly and gracious. We appreciate being able to eat in house, and they take all the present regulations very seriously. My partner almost always has the chilli salmon. It's spicier than I can take as an entree, but I still snitch bits off his plate. I switch among several dishes, including the garlic pork rice plate with a fried egg (my newest favourite), garlic shrimp, and sesame beef. Their fresh spring rolls are the best we've had, and we've tried a lot of these in various restaurants. The chef is meticulous in constructing them. We've had some that fall to bits almost when you pick them up, but not these. Steamed shrimp shumai have been wonderful, too. There are so many nice touches here, such as pretty tea cups and nice glasses. It may be an outwardly humble place, but it is a class act from start to finish. I ordered mango with sticky rice and Kaw Kra Paw Kai (chicken basil over rice) to go and asked the restaurant if I could eat it a couple of days later. They were super nice and packed the food in a way that I can put them in a freezer. I heated them up using a microwave and the food still tasted great, especially mango with sticky rice. I am originally from Thailand and am quite picky about the sweet sticky rice. This place got it perfectly right which is hard to find on the East Coast. I would encourage folks to try. I decided to order to go from this place which it looked good on the reviews. I usually don't give bad reviews on restaurants but this place really threw me off. I ordered food to share with my 3 year old and while I was serving the fried rice I found a staple in my food. God forbidden my daughter ate this staple. Highly recommended. 8.9/10. As a huge fan of drunken noodles, my expectation for this dish are high. It's the one thing I always order the first time at a Thai restaurant. This version of drunken noodles fell flat. Lacking in savoriness, with an overabundance of bell peppers that were way too raw. Not enough sauce. Onions cut too thick. Very underseasoned. 3.1/10. My friend surprised me with a delightful Pho soup and vegetable spring roll meal, delivered by GrubHub, that completely hit the spot! Not too heavy, not too light either and amazingly fresh! We drive by this spot a lot, and it's tiny and doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is great! We wanted pho and pad Thai and it has both which were extremely good!, and also the Thai iced tea and mango sticky rice were great! The waitress was so nice and attentive. The dishes overall were good but had much more grease than typical.. We have ordered here before and it was fine but this time made us a bit queasy. Well, that was four months ago, and I've probably dined in and done take out from Pho O-Sha at least a dozen times now! The people that work there are lovely. Pho O Sha is so great. My husband loves pho and was missing his local Chinatown spot from back in the day when we worked in the office. Instead, we started doing a weekly Pho O Sha treat yoself. And it has been a treat! The food is always delicious and the customer service is wonderful. They do a great job at taking care of no-contact delivery, and we have enjoyed some of the kind notes in our delivery bags. :) As a vegetarian, I love the options they have and that their menu is clearly labeled. Wonderful food. Pretty generous entree portions. Particularly like the duck dishes. Everything is super flavorful without being overpowering. If you take out, the rice and veggies are served in a separate container from the main entree rather than in one dish. I love this place. I haven't been to Thailand or Vietnam, but since I love both the food and the people of Southeast Asia I've discovered many excellent Thai and Vietnamese restaurants over the years. The food here is as good as I've had anywhere. Most Thai and Vietnamese restaurants, in my experience, are excellent. But Pho O Sha is simply in another class than the great majority of them. It's rare to find a place that can produce excellent cuisine from several different cultures. This place can. Everything we've had has been wonderful. It's easy to see from the presentation how much they care about their food. Everything is beautiful and carefully thought out. Even something as simple as a fresh roll has a perfect balance of ingredients and just tastes better. For those who feel comfortable dining inside these days they do a great job of creating a safe yet calm and welcoming environment. We have no qualms about eating there. The staff is ridiculously friendly, in the low key way typical of these cultures, and they all seem very eager to please. The owner is generally there and keeps a close watch over everything. In addition to the fresh rolls I can highly recommend their steamed shumai, chili salmon, pork rice plate, and sesame beef. We are looking forward to working our way through more of the menu. If it's not a corona casualty, it might be one from recession. Have been going to Pho O Sha at least once a month for over a year now. It was greatly praised by my colleagues and the office park/building for their comforting and soothing variety of Thai and Vietnamese food. A long held favorite, this place has had numerous great reviews and local articles praising the restaurant. However, I noticed in the past year the quality and quantity has been declining. It could be due to Covid and the costs incurred during lockdown or maybe the recession but Pho O Sha's decline has been more noticeable and getting a bit harder to support them as a small business. The once flavor packed, generous portions of noodles and soups have nearly halved and kept at the same price. My favorite Dac Biet has decreased by half and what is considered a "normal" size bowl at typical pho shops are nearly half the amount now but same price and the broth a bit watered down. The pad see yew has less protein and noodles, filled with majority vegetables (not bad but the dish is noodles, not stir fried veggies). It's clear they are trying to drum up business with cleaning up their brick and mortar a bit and also serving alcohol. But the cost for small portions and lacking quality has all but made my colleagues and I just to go to Chipotle or McDonald's as there if you spend $11-12 for a meal, you won't need to supplement your lunch with a snack. I think this will be my last time ordering from them for a while as I'm not sure I can justify $13-14 for a small/light lunch portion. read more
