    Pad See Ew Noodle
    Tessa B.

I love the amount of options this place has, didn't realize it was Vietnamese Thai fusion! I got the pad see ew which was awesome, and my friend got the pho which I was able to try and enjoyed. It's a cute little vibe in there, pretty lowkey and you can walk in really easily on a weekend. I'll be returning!

Menu has been revamped since I was last here so couldn't get the bun tom nuong- grilled shrimp on rice vermicelli. Instead I got the grilled chicken and it was delicious. It had a slightly sweet sauce over it and came with a side of fish sauce and pickled daikon- yum! Service was very quick.

The pho was OK. I found it very basic, and the broth was almost tasting a little bit instant instead of a really good solid Soup with authentic flavors. The place was cute, but place was awkwardly next to a gas station. I like the mango sticky rice. I would like to come back and try the appetizers and maybe I would change my mind about this place.

I've drove past this restaurant so many times and finally decided to try it out. The servers were so friendly and the food came out incredibly fast. We ordered the Dac Biet Pho, crispy chicken pad Thai, and Chicken Satay. This might be my favorite Pad Thai in the area and the portion size was huge!!! The Chicken for the Chicken Satay was perfectly cooked and so juice and the peanut sauce was the best. I will say the parking is so limited and kind of scary to back out of so be mindful of that! They seem to do a huge takeout business so definitely would order from here again!

The parking is limited but it is there. It handles maybe 5 or 6 cars. Rather hard to maneuver my car especially with lots of traffic on the street. I started off with spring rolls that had rice wraps encasing lettuce, carrots, a strip of zuchinni and some Chinese cabbage. I thought the spring rolls were overpriced at 8.00 I had pho Ga that had plenty of shredded chicken, noodles and bean sprouts on the side. I would have preferred a few more bean sprout. Great for weight-watchers. I swear I loose weight when I eat Vietnamese food. The place filled up while I was there with Vietnamese people which was a good sign. If they let me it, it has to be good. The waitress came right over to me as soon as I was seated. She took my order wand I was served promptly. I did have to ask for my bill. Overall I found this place to be average. Take it or leave it.

This place is okay. We drive by it all the time, for years...and finally tried it. The fried calamari and shrimp are good. I had the Bun Bo Hue, but I've had it a lot better in other places. Its okay food. If you can't decide between thai or viet food, this may be a good pick. There is several parking spots out side. Place looks decent. Staff was friendly. Seems to be a popular uber eats place.

The restaurant and pho is overall alright. I am a massive fan of pho so any pho will taste delicious to me. Their pho's quality is decent. When I received my pho, the noodles were stuck together like it came straight out of a package. There was barely any meat on my pho. The scallion pancakes were good but the pancakes were really thin. The staff were quick and efficient. The overall restaurant is small, great for a hangout spot with your friends.

Chicken in the Garden Dinner and Massaman Curry Dinner

I ordered Thai takeout as this restaurant has a good reputation for good, safe gluten-free options. The menu is well marked. The Chicken in the Garden meal has a delicious peanut sauce. The Massaman Curry was decent. Neither dish had as much flavor as I prefer (I like strong flavors and these were exceptionally mild flavored). The portion sizes were acceptable and the packaging was well done. The order was ready when indicated. The menu and website stare there is a 5% discount for ordering direct. That was not honored. The website also requires a tip amount be entered to place the order, which seems presumptuous on takeout. There is a small parking lot next to the restaurant. I'm sure it fills up quickly. If I return, I'll try the Vietnamese options.

After getting takeout a few times from here, we finally ate in as a family. I started off a bit skeptical at first because the restaurant has Thai and Vietnamese dishes. Usually that's a red flag for not being good at either. But turns out, they nailed both. The tom yum soup is our go-to. They have two sizes. The other Thai dishes are also tasty. The pad Thai, chicken satay, and mango sticky rice are all quite good. And their soft shell crab dish is also garlicky good. On the Vietnamese side of the house, all of their pho dishes are yummy and rich. Finally, this was the first time we dined in, and the service was as good as the food. Our server offered our family a stand for the iPhone my son was watching videos on. And the service was attentive and considerate. We will be back, likely for takeout again.

Pad Thai; Pho Chay (vegetarian Pho)

Small quaint pho shop nestled right off of Arsenal Mall. We came in on a Friday evening to a semi-full house and was able to get a table for 2 quickly. The vibe is very warm and cozy. We started with scallion pancakes as appetizers and ordered a vegetarian pho and a pad Thai as our main dish. The food was all very tasty although the portions are on the smaller side. The pancakes were super crispy and served with ginger sauce. Our main dishes were quite average and couldn't find anything noteworthy compared to other Vietnamese/pho shops. The broth felt a little lacking, but maybe because we opted for no meat. Service was attentive and great plus there is a small discount when paying by cash which we took advantage of. tldr; average pho shop. Discount if you pay by cash. Maybe better as a takeout option.

Not bad price for the portion and the quality

The place is located conveniently near Arsenal Yard however, it is still a bit of a walk if you plan to come here from the shopping area of "The Yard". If you do plan to drive here, be warned the parking lot is very limited and can be challenging to pull out because of how cars are parked and on a very busy road. Similar to the parking lot, the restaurant is small but well decorated and has a cozy feeling. Unfortunately and I always seem to get an elbow or a bump from someone when I'm in here so just be ready to share you personal space when you come here. I have come to rather enjoy taking my order home and enjoy my meal while in the comfort of my home. The curries here are very well balanced. I'm a sucker for red curry and shrimp. There is nice heat and sweet creamy coconut milk. The two dishes I can't seem to not order when I come here is the Drunken Noodle and their Pad Thai. Both are cooked very well and with a nice spring in their noodles, and filled with flavor. Good food, Friendly staff, and for the price, its a good place to get your Thai craving quenched.

    Bun Bo Hue

A reasonably priced restaurant with satisfying dishes. The place itself feels very humble and like a hole in the wall establishment. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet, making sure our cups were always full. I wish there was more meat provided in some of the dishes but otherwise the taste and variety in dishes was wonderful. My favorite was the chili sauce provided at every table.

As always, I find it a bit harder to review fusion spots. Not just any fusion either, but one that is all over the world map. It's easy to just nitpick one dish and use it to judge everything else; but what about that is remotely fair? For example, their Beef Rendang (a dish that I'm very familiar with - including the different regional renditions) is more like a hint towards what "real" Beef Rendang is. I don't even need to speak on behalf of the Filipinos regarding their adobo (which I also grew up on) who are infamous to show up on public forums to criticize and say "that's not how my grandmother makes it" (lol). What did come to mind is the old quote that many often find negative but actually was meant to be a positive phrase (if the last part isn't so often omitted). "Jack of all trades, master of none, though often times better than a master of one". That definitely applies here with their style of food. There's a lot going on and a good portal to the true potential of each dish. Definitely give them a try! Portions are good and the food is definitely tasty!

In fact, ever since the other Chinese spot changed ownership, I entirely switched to eating here whenever I want a quick sit down Chinese meal. The food is good. It comes out pretty fast. Even being a regular, I'm still amused at how the service is so stereotypical Chinese in the way that I'm just another soul coming in to be fed and not remembered or acknowledged. Mind you, I'm here a LOT and am usually the only one sitting there eating while delivery people repeatedly come and go. Anyways, two reasons why I'm unable to give them 5 stars. First, the tap water they serve...tastes like @#$%. I don't know what it is but I've actually started bringing my own water bottle (or just ordered a soda). Two, the steamed rice is inconsistent. Half the time, it's perfect. The other half...is wet and mushy (I want to say a reheat but isn't that just such a faux pax in Chinese cuisine?). Nonetheless, this is one of the few four and less starred places on my list that I will still continue to frequent and recommend to anyone in the area wanting a quick and decent meal for cheap!

Not spicy. Not too saucy, so you can "feel" the noodle, but I would have liked more vegetables. -- Yibin Fiery Noodles: Warm and similarly al dente, these were manageably spicy. Meat crumble, seeds or nuts, scallions, and heat. -- Red and Green Pepper Chicken: Batterless but crisp, tender, and not boneless. Relentlessly spicy from several heat sources and kaleidoscopically delicious. The closest comparison is dry hot chicken that also goes by a few other names, but this was better. Elite, and the best thing I ate in all of 2025, but sadly no longer on the menu. -- Stone Pot Tofu: Billed as Ma Po Tofu sizzling in a stone pot, but no sizzle and no stone pot. Identified as very spicy but minimally spicy and more numbing (more "ma" than "la"). I enjoyed the overall flavor (heavily seasoned) and the saltiness of the fermented black beans. Despite some of the menu discrepancies, this was a really good version for my tastes. Decent. -- Chicken and Clams: Black bean flavor, whole peppercorns, spicy but loaded with flavor beyond the spice. A deceptively huge and quite delicious. Elite. -- Beef Spring Rolls: Not my choice. Crisp, beefy, and chili sauce on the side added contrast. Solid, but boring, more typical of an Americanized offering, and a waste of an opportunity given Too Hot's killer menu. -- Pork Belly with Fermented Beans: Superb rendition, not drastically different from twice cooked pork, but much more flavor and giant pieces. Outstanding overall experience, with the best dish on the first visit and almost all winners on the second. My only complaint is the little size for the samosa size. For our mains we got the short rib and the white butter chicken. The butter chicken could've used a bit more chicken for the price and was frankly a bit tough. The sauce was great. The short rib was flavorful and packed the perfect punch. Thoughts: The pad see ew was delicious! We reheated it later that night & it was flavorful. I would definitely get this again. The chicken wings had good flavor but we found the chicken itself to be very dry inside. Made it difficult to enjoy. I loved the potato curry sauce that came with the roti. Simple but tasty dish. The pla pad kun chai was our least favorite dish we ordered. It didn't taste good at all after reheating. We're curious if we would've enjoyed this more if we ate it at the restaurant when it was fresh? The fish had a very fishy smell & didn't taste like it had been treated with lemon, vinegar, or both. We usually enjoy cod fish & lemongrass but this was a complete miss for us. Lastly, the Thai iced tea was okay. It was a bit too watery for us & we wished it could've been creamier. Overall, I would come back again to give Cha Yen another try. I did like the dishes we tried at the restaurant & perhaps the fish for example would've tasted better if had at the restaurant.
