Came here after finding out it's run by the same folks who gave Somerville/Cambridge the delightful "Rodney Dee" Thai restaurant at Porter Square which went out of business just before the pandemic and remains shuttered to this day. Am happy to report that it's a worthy replacement: service is good, portions are generous, prices are reasonable for the area, and food is more authentic than most "Thai" places in the metro Boston area. Oh and the interior is quite attractive/pleasant, more so than the closed-down location's was. Will be back! read more

Parallel parking available and right off of the red-line. A cute Thai restaurant in Brookline and there's two locations. I always forget when I order for pickup but thankfully they always tell me on the phone. Personally, I prefer their other locations but food consistency is not bad between the two. Pad Thai (shrimp and chicken) - flavorful but not outstanding. Not a bad choice but not a great one either, compare to other Thai restaurants. Indonesian Fried Rice - fried chicken was overcooked but still edible. A hint of spice, which I like. Not for those who are sensitive to spicy food, just an FYI. One of my favorite dishes here. Pad See Ew (with beef) - surprisingly really good and always been pretty consistent no matter of time, day, dining in or take-out. It always survive my short ride to Watertown. Thai Iced Tea - not too sweet (this is a good compliment) but not strong. Maybe because I'm getting older and I'm just a bitter person. Those who are still in college, getting your undergrad may adore this drink here. Overall, not bad for take-outs or dine-in. Cute Thai restaurant in Brookline with lots of menu options, including some that I don't see offered in your typical Thai restaurant. We went with my old stand-by of green vegetable curry with steamed tofu and their Indonesian fried rice with fried chicken. The latter was the stand-out dish, so flavorful with a blend of spices in the rice, and the fried chicken was super crispy - the dish also comes with a fried egg on top. Definitely a hearty, substantial portion good for one person or you can split with another if you get something else. The curry was tasty but the ratio of curry to rice was pretty skewed and we had a bunch of plain rice left over. I would have wanted more veggies, specifically the eggplant, and tofu. The spring rolls were also fine, nothing out of the ordinary. There's seating inside but filled up quickly while we were there on a weekday evening. Street parking is also available, I managed to snag one of the spots right out front. Rod D by Sitti is still one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Boston area! Even when I am not in the neighborhood, I will still go out of my way to eat here for lunch/dinner. Every dish we have tried has been so flavorful and insanely delicious! The service is so quick here & this has not changed at all. Once we have ordered, after taking a sip of water, our food is out and ready. It's incredible! Came here on a Saturday night. They don't take reservations but you just have to list your names down. It was only a 15 min wait for us. The place was small but nice and cozy. I got the chicken satay for appetizer. It was pretty good but I wished it had a little bit more seasoning. The sauce had flavors of coconut and peanut butter. The pad see ew was a classic. Ordered the small green curry with chicken which comes with rice. There was too much rice for the amount of chicken and vegetables. which is saying a lot because I love rice. One with regular chicken the other with crispy chicken stir fried in (makes it tastier then just plopped on top) Quick and easy 5 min wait for dinner, food comes out super fast and hot. The Indonesian fried rice is amazing. The chicken is so crispy and delicious, especially with the sauce given on the side. The egg is always cooked to the perfect over medium, with crisp whites and a nice gooey yolk. The rice is delicious, soft, and compliments the yolk and chicken wonderfully. This is my favorite dish from Rod D and I've been ordering it ever since a friend of mine got it for us once. Such a filling, delicious, gem of a meal. The serving size is also very generous, this could easily be two meals. Although I have never been in person, the delivery always comes with the meal at the perfect temperature. The rice is still piping hot and the meat is as crispy as if it just came out of the oven. One bite of the beef boat noodles and my craving for homey food was satisfied. The broth was so flavorful and dish had a good balance of ingredients. The green papaya salad was refreshing, crunchy, and not too salty. Be warned: those chilis will get you, so if spicy food isn't your favorite, avoid the chilies. I also got the mango sticky rice for dessert and wished there was more coconut sauce. It was still delicious nonetheless; the mangoes were perfectly sweet and complimented the sticky rice. We tried this restaurant while in the area. It's nice that they have a lot of street parking in front of the restaurant. We ordered a pad Thai with crispy chicken, a soup and a braised beef and beef tendon noodle soup. I always order pad Thai when coming to a new Thai place, to determine if it's a decent place. Their pad Thai is too salty, don't come with lime. I had to ask for lime to balance out the saltiness. Crispy chicken came with it was soggy. I would only come back for the braised beef and beef tendon noodle soup. This was surprisingly good! Service was not the best. The server didn't check up on us, sadly. read more

My party of 5 came in 10 minutes before the kitchen closed, and the staff was very nice in explaining that they had a hard stop in 40 minutes. They didn't rush us to make our order, and all the food came out super fast. It was easy to get the staffed attention, even though they were pretty packed, and in the middle of cleaning/closing up. After, it was easy to get our check and pay, as well as to get plenty of to-go containers for all of our food and drink. Staff and service get a 5/5. I tried the Boat Noodle Soup, Massaman Curry on rice, and Soft Shell Crab on rice, as well as both the Thai iced tea and the tropical Thai iced tea. My favorite was the Boat Noodle soup, with the Soft Shell Crab coming in a *very* close second. The drinks were refreshing and didn't taste watered down. The food gets a 6/5 for speed, flavor, and portion size. The restaurant itself is cozy, has an extremely adorable logo, and is very clean for a shop that has such quick service/turnover. The restroom was really clean, which is always nice. Nobody wants to wash their hands before a meal in a gross bathroom. Even with disposable chopsticks, the ambiance gets a 5/5. It's comfortable to sit with a party of 1, 2 or 6. Overall my entire party really enjoyed our dinner. They could have easily been curt, rushed us in and out, or even turned us away. The service is severely lacking. Whoever takes phone orders is EXTREMELY impatient. They called me back for confirmation of my order but ended hanging up on me mid-conversation and left me unsure about whether or not they'd make my order. If you want to have a remotely good experience, DO NOT order over the phone. Maybe they're understaffed? The seating is interesting, don't try to seat yourself, I watched the table next to me get told off because they sat themselves while people were waiting around for pick up/ to go orders. I've been in person and the food was honestly pretty good. The drunken noodles were alright. The flavor was good but the texture of the noodles were soggy. If you like extra soft fall apart noodles then that would be for you. If you prefer noodles to be slightly more firm or to at least hold its shape, try a different dish. This place used to be one of the go to spots for quick Thai food if you're in the area. Haven't been back since covid hit. This is a little small joint but everything is made fresh. Ordered the Tom yum pad Thai to try it out. Requested it to be extra hot. A little disappointed because it wasn't spicy at all.... I understand the risk of requesting for extra spicy. Some places don't honor that request to look out for you but... Imagine I requested for just hot and not extra hot? It would have been plain... that is my only complaint to be honest. TLDR: I cannot express how good this Thai food was! The flavors were amazing, the perfect about of spice, the chicken was crispy and yummy, and the crab rangoon was filled and fried to perfection. Get the Indonesia fried rice and crab rangoon. 13/10 must try it to are in Boston looking for some fire Thai food. The prices are a bit high for the portion size but the flavors make up for it! Our server was super kind and encouraged us to try the Indonesia fried rice and that was the best decision I could have made. There is plenty of seating inside and the food comes out pretty quickly! Thai food in Brookline! This is probably my favorite spot for casual Thai food around Boston. The place is small and very unpretentious (best for smaller groups and solo diners); seems pretty popular and I usually expect to wait a little if going at an average dinner time. It has a very typical menu (all the classics you see at other casual and/or takeout Thai spots) but it stands out a little for me because service is really fast when dining-in and the dishes are consistently flavorful and satisfying. It has been at least a couple of years since ordering anything from here, but now that we have moved back to Brookline and can always go for some good Thai, especially on a rainy night like tonight when you just feel like bringing in and putting on a movie, we decided to try Rod D by Sitti again and get two new dishes... We opted for the Nam Sod for $19 and the Indonesian Fried Rice for $18. Both were perfectly spiced and full of interesting flavors and textures. The portion sizes were large enough for two people to share, with plenty of leftovers for a midnight snack. We will definitely sample other entrees in the near future and perhaps get an appetizer with a single dinner to split... No point in ordering too much and spending extra. read more

Plenty street parking. Ambiance was casual, easy in and out with good amount of dining space for 2-4 people. Boat noodle: LOVED the crispy pork rinds in the soup. They soak up the soup flavor perfectly and definitely brings the bowl of noodle soup up a notch. Veggies wise, they used watercress which I'm ok with. The beef pieces were plentiful and the cut was flank steak. Noodle were done just right, not soggy and the soup was piping hot. It was not as tangy as I would have expected (could have done with more lemongrass). The soup overall was still very good with the spicy kick that creeps up on you after few mins of slurping. Grilled sticky rice with taro: EXCELLENT! Loved how it came nice and hot. Once you peel back the leaves, I could tell this was legit since barely any of the rice stuck to the leaf so they used adequate amount of oil . The rice was all cooked through with the right amount to stickiness. The taro filling was like gold...real taro flavor with the right amount of sweetness the makes you want to eat nonstop. Papaya Salad, fried taro bags, fried rice with fried chicken, fish cakes, chicken satay, flat noodles with prawns and squid, fried bananas and mango sticky rice. My favorites are the taro rice bag, papaya salad and chicken satay. The fish cakes, flat noodles were also good. Not very into the fried rice though the fried chicken was good. The sticky rice for the mango was extremely oily smelling which I didn't like. And the fried banana was a no for me. The wrap was not crispy and banana inside tasted bland because it was still green. I really did enjoy the Thai tea and the other dishes. Would definitely want to come back here again. The flavors for the dishes I liked were spot on. read more

The food was hands down amazing! My friends and I needed a quick meal before a concert and this place did the trick. We got the tofu pad see you and the Indonesian fried rice with chicken. 10/10 and we also got the Thai iced coffee and the Thai iced tea, they both had the perfect blend of sweetness and tea flavor. The BEST part of dinner were the donuts and the condensed milk. They came out hot and fluffy! There were so many and with decent sizing. The service was great too! The woman that was helping us out kept checking on us and made sure they could accommodate my group of friends. The ambiance was also really nice. The place is small but has a homey feeling.
