Service was friendly. Unfortunately, I really didn't like what I ordered. I got the Pla (fish) with vegetables, and it was too salty for me and didn't have another clear flavor in its favor. There wasn't a strong ginger or garlic essence like I'm used to in a Thai brown gravy. My friends seemed happy with their curries though...so maybe I just ordered wrong. On Sunday, they have a very strong takeout business, which also impacted the ambience. At one point there were like six people waiting in line at the entrance. In such a small establishment, it changes the vibe to have people hovering and getting impatient and clarifying orders, with the frequent entrance/exit of new patrons. Our table was closest to the entrance so we probably "felt" it more than other tables would have. Still, for the "mom's night out" space that we were cultivating, I would've preferred to pay more to go someplace that had less of a takeout vibe. Ordered takeout through Uber and my food was delivered super hot and well-packed. The Tom yum soup was really delicious with the right spice level and the steamed pork dumplings were perfectly steamed and really tasty. The chicken pad Thai was very good yet I wish the chicken had been cut into smaller pieces and it felt a bit overcooked. I missed the lime piece too. Still very good. Loved the Thai iced tea. I've been coming to this spot on and off for the past couple years with my wife and it definitely hits the spot every time. Whether it's the noodle dishes, soups, or apps, they've all got their own individual vibes for the occasion/season. Most recently, we've had their skewers (which pair well with their house sauces), as well as their fried salmon and beef stew noodle soup. While they've all got their quirks, I'd say that everything would go well when paired with a drink - especially with how all the flavors and textures meld well with one another, and still are neither too overwhelming nor too heavy for what they are. manor Thai Kitchen is in a shopping mall where the parking is limited. Their menu is precise. They have their spring rolls listed as two items. Crispy and fresh. Crispy is fried and fresh has uncooked vegetables. Having detail on their menu is a plus. I had chicken soup which was pricey for the size of the serving. The soup had chicken, bean sprouts, and rice. The waitress was attentive keeping my water full. I did have to ask for hot sauce. Not only was there none on any of the tables but I had to specifically ask for it. I suppose that is one way to cut costs. This was your basic Thai restaurant. Nothing out of the ordinary. Today I had the pleasure of meeting most of the staff in the most unexpected way. They are helpful and polite. I ordered the fried tofu with peanut sauce, and Pad Thai. Both were delicious. They had their own little spin on flavor. Defiantly not cookie cutter Thai food, a step above IMO. Due to my circumstances of my arrival and departure, I was wondering if this restaurant would ever consider GrubHub ? Can't wait to try more items. First, the woman was super nice when I placed the order on the phone. The food was just mediocre/the same kind of average Thai food you get anywhere. The pad Thai was sweet and sticky. The Tom kha soup wasn't a great flavor. The green curry was fine. The chicken salad with peanut salad was typical with iceberg lettuce. The edamame didn't taste particular fresh. I stopped in for Pad Thai and was too late for lunch special. The dinner version had chicken and shrimp. Good portion size, nice clean restaurant. Friendly staff. Easy to park and quick service. Food was very good, my recommendation would be more tender velvet chicken texture .. was plenty of chicken . A little more marinate to chicken. Noodles I wanted a little crispier but they did offer another dish with crispy noodles... so maybe I should have order that version. Shrimp lacked flavor or previous frozen... if frozen , I would have marinated in a spice or sriracha sauce to kick up flavor and offset frozen bland taste... all good and I'll eat there again . read more

This was my first order at Manow Thai Kitchen. I honestly never heard of it prior today. But years ago, I used to go to a go to a great restaurant that occupied the same location. The service was great... I called them and made an order to go. The employee patiently took my order of seven items and then read them back to me in detail. She had an immediately total cost prior to hanging up. Offered to take payment over the phone, or to pay when I arrive. She quoted 15-20 minutes and I got there in 20 minutes and it was completely ready. The packaging was amazing, all food was well packed, no leaks, and remained warm for the 15-minute ride home. Oh, and we asked for some items "on the side" and they did pack is 100% to our requested specification. It is rare to see perfection of this type. The food was excellent... everything we got was enjoyable for both my wife and I. The Scallion Cake was delicious, as was its dipping sauce. I cannot wait to order that again one day soon. Papaya salad was excellent, so fresh and refreshing, large enough for two. Veggie Tofu Pad Thai with Egg was huge and yummy... next time I will ask for it to be spicey/hot (I added some hot sauce at home). Tofu Eggplant Basil was exactly as described... but next time I will ask for more eggplant and less of everything else. My wife loved the Pla Nug Ma Now with Tilapia... it came extremely spicey, as advertised, so she will likely have it a little less spicey next time. But she is still raving about it two hours after eating it. And there is plenty left of the main courses for lunch tomorrow. I highly recommend this place. Lunch Specials are to be had daily at Manow Thai Kitchen, which is a treat, since weekends are often bereft of the lunch pricing. Service was pleasant, with a smile, and with welcoming thought despite the single server covering the dining room. Without our requesting special consideration, she brought out a plastic cup covered and with a straw for our youngest member when bringing glasses of water for the table. Portions were just right as each plate at the table was cleaned. Mine of the Crispy Chicken Pad Thai $9.50/$11.50, though the chicken had been left a bit too long in its hot oil bath. The noodles were good though. If any of their Lunch Special Combos are to your liking, however, you can have a two piece appetizer (Crispy Rolls or Pork Dumplings) and a soup (Chicken Tom Yum, Veggie Tofu, or Wonton Soup) for about 2 bucks on top of the entree. we love this little Thai place. We have always gone for lunch, and they have great lunch specials including delicious Tom Yum chicken soup, spring roll and meal of choice for around $10. The service has always been friendly and excellent, and the flavors of the food are spot on. Every dish I have tried is fantastic, and that's unusual even for a Thai place. This chef knows what he is doing. If you have not been, give it a try. It will be your new traditional Thai go to spot, I'm sure of it. We drive in from Framingham, because it's that good. read more

Decent Thai food in the Newton area! PROS: Lunch special Pad Thai comes with both Chicken and Shrimp. Usually you have to pick one or the other. There are a number of good lunch specials that include choice of appetizer or soup. It's a great deal. Portions are generous for the most part. The inside is very clean and nice. The wait staff is also pleasant. The fried food was too much. I wanted to love the Golden bags, but did not prefer them. CONS: I found the food to be a bit bland. The shrimp were small, and only 2 were included. The shrimp tasted frozen and not as firm as I prefer. The parking is very limited in the strip mall, which has a number of other restaurants, dunkin donuts, and a liquor store. It can sometimes be very crowded. OVERALL: I'd call this a decent spot for Thai food in the Newton area. There are other choices, but at least this one has free parking and is probably less crowded than the other Thai spots in Newton Center, just down the road. read more

While I have been coming here for many years the service since Covid has gone dramatically down hill. The food is still pretty good, which is why 2 stars instead of 1. About a month ago I tried making a delivery order and I usually leave a tip in cash to the driver when they get here. I didn't use the cc tip option. I noticed my order was cancelled within 2 min of ordering. I called and asked why and was told it was because I didn't leave a tip. My $50 order was cancelled because I didn't leave a cc tip. Then more recently I ordered take out on a Sunday evening. When I went in the place was empty and I asked if I could sit down with my takeout order and get a bubble tea and eat there. I was told as long as I was prepared to give the server a tip. I couldn't sit and order a drink and eat the food that was already prepared for me and already paid for unless I paid a service fee. At a completely empty restaurant. As a 20 year restaurant industry veteran, I was both offended and bewildered how this "demand for tips" is tolerated at this restaurant. The space to eat there isn't bad, but be aware there is no restroom. Which I don't understand the legality of, but in the end what really counts is the food. Which having been here 3 times, trying somethijg new each time, the food is sub-par. This last time I ate here I ate the seafood prik pow. Didn't even come with the scallops that it was supposed too. Just a pile of bell peppers cut too large, with 6 peices of seafood. Like 3 shrimp and 3 calamari. Sitting on a plate of grease. Shameful they charge $20 for such garbage. I'm done giving them chances. They only thing they do consistently is disappoint. Also, not a hint of spice. Forget the spicy level of however many peppers it says on the menu. I got the green curry with tofu, and it was very underwhelming. It was almost too sweet to eat and smelled strongly of subpar fish sauce. The veggies that came with the dish were limp and flavorless. I did get a a huge amount of food, enough for 2-3 servings, but I would have preferred quality over quantity. For a $17 meal, I expected much better. I'm also irked for a couple different reasons, all related to my trying to avoid single-use plastics. I wanted to dine in, but the restaurant doesn't have a public restroom. So I opted for takeout, which meant having to have my food packaged. When I went to pick up my food, I told the front desk that I didn't want plastic utensils. They said utensils were not included when they had been. :( read more

This place is definitely a hole in the wall. My family and I were just browsing on yelp and found this place. Service was awesome and we even got complimentary cream puffs! The space is definitely small but we came for a really early dinner, so it wasn't all that busy. The portions were so huge! We had the pad Thai, pan ang curry, something prik fish, and the three flavor fish! All so good! I've had terrible Thai food so this is definitely one of the best! Pretty solid Thai takeout place! We got Pad see ew, manow noodle soup (spicy), moo ping (grilled pork), and ka na moo krob (pork belly). Everything was packaged well for takeout. I had the manow noodle soup with glass noodles, which was definitely spicy, but bearable. After eating a few bites you do get used to the spice of the broth and has a really good heat level to it if you like spicy foods. The broth also has a tinge of sweet and lime flavor to it. Plenty of seafood from fish balls and shrimp, but only a few leafy green vegetables. The crispy wonton crackers give your mouth a break from the spiciness of everything. The moo ping is a good appetizer, the pork is tender and sweet. The duck pad see ew was your typical flat noodle and always a good dish to get. The pork belly had an interesting texture to it, definitely not something I was expecting, but not bad. It came with crunchy green vegetables and carrots. Overall, I'd recommend trying Manow if you're looking for a good Thai food place. read more

I've ordered direct delivery (call the restaurant directly) and every time it is beyond fast. The food is fresh and delicious, I've never had anything that I didn't love. I am truly blown away by how fast the deliver. I live about 10 minutes away (yep, lazy) and every time I call, they say 45 mins to an hour and the food is here within 30 minutes.
