Sorry. I for one am tired of getting taken advantage of due to _______ (fill in the blank. There's a reason almost daily!). Wife said she would pick up pho on the way home from Fat City and we've had good luck with Pho Michael. It seemed like a good night with rain approaching to get pho. We travel a lot. We know the culture (she's Asian). Protein is a premium and we are spoiled here in the US. But if you're going to charge $12 for on ounce or 2 of meat with broth and noodles I should be dressed in a coat and tie with a nice entree on the horizon. This is street food. If you want to sell noodles with a smidge of protein in the traditional sense, I have no problem with that. Fine! Charge me for such! Service and ambience was great, awesome iced frozen mug for Asian beer, but disappointed with food. Side of veggies for dinner came before appetizer, mostly carrots, my least favorite, and cold by time dinner came. Egg rolls thick deep fried and overcooked could not eat. $20 entree came same time as appetizer, was mostly rice, small portion of protein that came in bite size baby pieces 1.5in by 1in by 2mm. I recently moved to NOLA, and this is the best pho I have had in the area so far! I frequented the pho spots in the Little Saigon in SoCal, so I'm pretty spoiled with amazing pho, which is why I am glad a friend introduced me to Pho Michael. It's a very spacious restaurant, clean, with modern decor. The bowls are HUGE... I couldn't even finish a regular ($9-10)! Service is super quick and friendly, and very accommodating. I asked for onions seeped in vinegar with my pho, and they happily obliged, at no extra cost. They also give you plenty of basil, bean sprouts, and limes. The bowls have a lot of both noodles and meat (I've been disappointed with my high meat to noodle ratio at other pho places), so you definitely get the bang for your buck. The noodles were perfectly soft and kind of chewy, and the meat was really tender (I had the brisket and rare beef). I haven't tried anything else, but they have LOTS of options on their menu (bun bo hue, spring rolls, rice dishes, etc.) so I'll definitely be back to satisfy my Viet food cravings! read more

I inhaled everything in that bowl!!! I like trying different pho places, specially when it rains. It gets me is a pho mood. No pho is exactly like the other. I've had different experiences each time. I ordered the pho with filet mignon. First time having it with filet mignon. I was a little nervous that the cut would be thick but it was not, the cut was a perfect thinness for the pho I love. The broth had the perfect hit of ginger, salty, meat and herb flavors. The meat was soft and very flavorful. I think this is the first time I find the meat to be so flavorful and on point in a pho soup. I can't wait to come back and have a bowl again. The shrimp spring rolls were the usual. They never disappoint. As my last treat I had the mango bubble tea with tapioca. This one can be a hit and miss but it did not disappoint. I loved the strong mango flavor. Now open on Mondays despite what Apple Maps says! I'm here now and it's a Monday. Always a relaxed atmosphere here, comfortable seating to match and attentive and competent service. When you crave Vietnamese, you know you have to get it because nothing else will satisfy that craving. Especially once you've found your spot for it. This is the spot for me, not only do I love Pho (filet mignon and meatball is my favorite) but I am back two days in a row for these tofu spring rolls and the Pho. Really really enjoyed my meal here! The service was on point! I ordered a shrimp and pork spring roll and bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup), while my dining companions ordered pho. Shrimp and pork spring roll - there are two in each order and it comes with a peanut sauce. In the picture on the menu, the sauce kinda looks like soy sauce! But it's just a darker peanut sauce. A little sweet, but sriracha fixes everything. There was just enough pork and shrimp in the roll. Bun bo hue ($11) - I ordered a small, but a large is just a dollar more! But wow! The portions here are so big! I was very impressed. The BBH was very flavorful and kinda spicy already. I asked for more sate (chili paste) and that turned it up another notch for me. - also. I noticed a picture and review that says this dish had "inedible fat." Just wanted to let Yelpers know that that is "gân," which is beef tendon. It's totally edible! Pho tai bo vien ($9) & Pho nam gan ($9) - the broth in both of these phos are beef. My friends were absolutely delighted that there's no MSG in anything! But! They were also nervous that the broth wouldn't have any depth to it. But all of their worries vanished once they tasted the broth. My bf even said he didn't need to add hoisin sauce bc it was already to his liking! Just like home. Yum! The meat to noodle ratio is also perfect. About the service... so we had two different type of soup dishes so the server brought out two different plates of veggies to accompany the varying dishes. I loved that! You do have to ask for cilantro though, which I find is needed in most Vietnamese restaurants. I only responded to the rudeness of your manager. She first accused the delivery guy of stealing it and then recanted after he came to meet me at the restaurant. It is unfathomable to me that a manager would say the place of business they work at never makes a mistake. This is the second time that this has happened. Furthermore, when I was there another customer chimed in that they wait for their food and check it prior to leaving because this has happened to them as well. I highly encourage the owner to get a manager who can problem solve, think on their feet and not accuse a person like a delivery driver who is just trying to make a living. read more

I've been here 3 times and the service never fails me. Our servers has always been either quynh or Van and they are both so nice and attentive. We always feel welcome there and the owner/manager even stopped by our table to check in on us. Now about the food, the broth is authentic as it gets. It's the BEST broth I've had for the metairie/New Orleans area. It beats pho bang and that used to be our go to spot. It's as close to what my mom's cooking is. I live in the westbank and now will only go to Pho Michael for pho. Their prices are about 2 dollars more than other pho places but the portion and taste of it is worth it. They also have these delicious grilled pork buns that we usually get for our appetizers. They do have their own parking lot so it's fairly easy to park. Location is in fat city of metairie. Decided to try a new pho spot today, based upon Yelp reviews. Randomly chose here. I was wary upon entering a very nice ,upscale dining room; disappointed to notice the very high price of menu items. My spring roll arrived, with a very nice peanut sauce; many pho places are diluting these days. But the roll itself was poorly constructed, loosely rolled,and was deconstructing itself as I ate. Ended up dumping into the peanut sauce and using a spoon. No bueno. I asked the server for soy sauce (for my tendon) and a small bowl (to dip my beef into hoisin and sriracha). She replied that a bowl is not necessary, as soy sauce comes in a small bottle. Perhaps she assumed I had never had an asian meal before. But I insisted. The small bowl was large enough but: the broth was NOT warm enough, and seriously lacking in seasoning and richness. Worse, the beef must have been dumped in as a lump, cooking to grey, and, worse yet, leaving a small puddle of tepid pink broth around it. At this point,I was defeated. Should have trusted my first instinct and walked out. I have been eating pho routinely since the early 90s, and this was probably the worst bowl ever. Totally unsatisfying. read more

Might be one of my favorite spots to grab Vietnamese food in Metairie. Walking inside there is tons of space to sit and could even fit large gatherings. They also provide a pho challenge which consists of 5 bowls of pho put together and has to be finished in a certain amount of time. Their Bun Bo Hue was very rich and delicious. I love to order a side of bone marrow to eat with it. Probably the best decision I ever made! The firecracker shrimp and cream cheese was also so good! Definitely one of the best Bun Bo Hue you can find around the Metairie area. The broth is very flavorful and the meats are very tender. The Pho was also very tasty with full of flavor without adding any extra sauces. Each soup bowls very pretty large in size which we ordered regular bowls instead of large. Really disappointed. Terribly tasting Pho! I have been sick with Bronchitis for over 2 weeks so I have been eating a lot of Chicken Pho from @PhoOrchid. Any way, I picked up my Spicy Beef Pho from @PhoMicheal and I was completely disgusted and disappointed. I was so hungry and had not eaten all day. When I get to my Pho, the portion was so small. It came in that to go bowl and even though I ordered and payed $12 for the large, I was served half of the plastic container. I go to pour the broth and to my disbelief, I see thick spaghetti noodles! Where was my Vermicelli noodles? The flavor was ok. On top of that, it was super greasy. I ate what I could, but after each spoonful, I had to wipe the grease off my lips. Will not ever go back there again or recommend it. Bad experience along with cold Pho!
