It's been ages since I've stopped at a Panera. Panera use to be a good alternative to fast food but the quality has diminished over the years. I initially order the Chicken BLT but returned it as the avocado was hard and the chicken taste was funny. It was like the was processed chicken. I then ordered an adult grill cheese and it was horrible too for over 8 dollars: the cheese used was American cheese. I know this place offers better cheese so why are they using American cheese. I couldn't eat this sandwich as well, so I just gave up. Plus I was informed that the men's bathrooms were super dirty. It smelled like pee plus toilet paper all over the floor. The only positive thing were the people: the people were super friendly. read more

I arrived and prepared to order at the kiosk. Just as I was starting my order the cashier was finished with the guest ahead and volunteered to finish me up. I waited less than 10 mins for the order to be ready and was right out of the door. Everything was prepared perfectly. It was a quiet lunch rush in the restaurant. Many people coming in and out but still very chill. read more

why are you cutting off the heel of my bread and tossing it. My favorite part of the bread IS the heel. I paid for it. You cut and sliced and tossed. shameful that you did this. Didn't see this until we got home. Is this a new policy? I quit going to the one in mid city because of this. again, I paid for it. also, the "bacon" you added to my macaroni and cheese isn't bacon, its processed. My husband thought it would be bonus to add that. I let him eat it. not a fan of fake bacon. while I like Panera, I don't like the little things that nickle and dime me. y'all need to stop doing this kinda thing. the employees end up taking the hit on these kinds of policies. read more

DISAPPOINTED! MUST DO BETTER! During these hard times it is like a slap in the face to go spend your money somewhere that doesn't take pride or care in their service and food! The staff needs to greet customers better. The back area where the food is being prepared needs to be maintained properly bc it looks nasty which makes me not want to order from there anymore since it looks as if the staff is not cleaning properly. So that makes me wonder how my food was prepared. No clean gloves...Trash on the floor in areas that we can clearly see. And the "free" Apple that I received looked as if an animal was already chewing on it! It's disappointing. I'd like a refund or a credit. read more

Not bad. Not too expensive and a great cafe place to go if you're having a get together with friends. I like the rewards they offer. Ordering online is convenient because your food will be ready when you get to the store. Delivery service isn't that expensive either. Chairs are torn up and tables are getting old read more

I placed a mobile order today. When I opened the chili to eat it there was a long hair in the chili. That is absolutely disgusting and I had to throw it away. This is a 3.5 star review. I mean it's Panera: free parking, free wifi, lots of options, back open with longer hours, relatively yummy and healthy fast food. However, I've noticed a decline at this location...not that clean, not that serious, always someone new at the register. A few other changes: no more light up pods for food so listen for your name to be yelled. They don't ask your choice of chips, apple or bread, so go back and get what you want. May mess up your soup order or not let you know the salads can have more than one kind of greens. There's no discount for taking chicken off salad and when did ALL of the salads get chicken anyway...idk maybe it was me but it was also a weird visit. I like patronizing local establishments but this was more of a gentle a reminder that I have most of these ingredients at home. read more

No care preparing your food. I'll post a pic below. There were a host of bugs that were flying all around the food due to a sewer problem, we were told. That means all of the bugs that were flying around the food and landed on the food were sewer bugs. I ordered a balsamic salad. It was absolutely gross with the bottom part of the lettuce in my salad and look like bugs initially and later to confirmed they were in my salad. After asking management, why were the bugs all over their uncovered food we were told that corporate disallowed coverings or plastic wrap over the food. We were told that renovations were pending. read more

When Panera Bread first started, a lot of people enjoyed it because of the pick two combos. Choosing a half of a various options was a great concept. Other cafes and restaurants now offer it as well and they generally have better selections and better flavored food; so for that reason it's been a while since i've been to Panera. I generally only return in the fall/winter because that's when they have the autumn butternut squash soup. This vegetarian soup is delicious with excellent flavors and pumpkin seeds added for extra flavor. Overall, it's a great fall/winter soup One thing I did notice this time is that usually when i've ordered pickup it's just placed on the shelf and anyone can come and pick it up, but this time it was behind the counter (not sure if it was a change or because i was late in picking up my order) read more

The seats are coming apart and the bread for the grilled cheese sandwich was stale. It looks dirty.

Great variety in the menu. I love how I can order in the app and pick up fifteen minutes later, I use it all over the country on road trips. Family feast is crazy cheap for feeding my family of five. This Panera is a little funny because somehow it's actually built backwards, but you figure it out after you've been there once. read more

Typical Panera food, in the dirtiest, poorest run Panera I've ever visited. When we walked up to the order counter, one staff member was there. She left after the person two ahead of us ordered. We waited, along with the party ahead, and a couple new arrivals behind us. Finally someone walked out from the back and asked if we'd been helped. Once we ordered, I inquired about the .99 bakery add-on. She said I could pick out anything from a nearly empty case. When I pointed that out to her she said that I could have a cookie... from the bagged cookie display that was sitting with the back of the bags facing the customer area. How difficult would it be to face the display towards the customer? Order finally in, we looked for a table. The one we wanted was recently vacated (I saw a party there when we walked in), so I inquired if it had been sanitized (Covid appears to be alive and well in 2021). A gentleman who appeared to be a manger assured me that they sanitize all tables between guests, then asked me if I'd like it cleaned again. Thankfully I let him do it because we didn't see a single table cleaned the whole time we were there! Oh, filthy restrooms, too. If all Panera locations are this bad, they won't survive the pandemic. read more

So disappointed in Panera on Vets in Metairie - who's minding the store? Who gives a hoot? Do i really have to give one star?! Don't expect a receipt when ordering from the kiosk, and don't expect someone to even call your name when your processed Cisco/Sam's frozen entree level meal is ready. From hazardous perils when you walk in (Vets entrance) to sticky goo around drink station to dirty dishes to bathroom funk, it's just unbelievable ! If you like eating in an environment that would make a frat house look tidy, go for it - - otherwise BEWARE! read more

This Panera gets a little backed up at lunch time, but the staff handles it with grace and it works for me. The food is healthy, tasty and filling. I love how diverse the menu is, and it seems to cover all the bases when it comes to pleasing all. I'm a soup lover, and haven't found fault with any of theirs. And I can't think of a dish I've had there that I've turned my nose up at. And the bakery - I'm so hooked!!! The breads and muffins and cookies!!!! It would be dangerous to leave me alone in there. It's possible I could eat myself to death. My favorite non bakery items (haha) are the tomato basil soup, corn chowder, asiago steak sandwich, spicy Thai salad, soba noodle bowl with edamame, and last but not least, their very fresh unsweetened black iced tea. Keep in mind that the lunch rush here gets bad at noon. If mild to moderate chaos bothers you, stop in a few minutes early if you can. read more

I've been to literally dozens of panera's all over the country. I've never experienced the outright hostility and rudeness from employees as I did here today. First i was given the wrong order and it was made to geaux even though I said it was for here. Ok no big deal, but when I told the kitchen people this, to say that they were unhappy with me would be an understatement. Like it was my fault. Whoa. I was in shock. I did think the staff in the rest of the restaurant was friendly. Must be a problem in the kitchen. Still, I will never come back to this location. read more

The fact that a kiosk is available doesn't mean people don't want the option of ordering with a person. Then the gall to ask for a tip at the end of the transaction when I've entered my own order, and I'm going to pick up my own order is simply rude. Also the text signaling our food was ready preceded the food actually being ready by several minutes leaving us to stare at the kitchen folks for a good 5-8 minutes. read more

This was truly the worst place I've ever eaten the last decade. When you walked in, it smelled like cat piss. The chairs throughout the restaurant were so old that the surfaces were peeling up. It looks like someone had urinated on the chair and eroded the entire surface. And this is what they expected me to sit on to eat. My order was not correctly done and the only thing that would've made it good would be if I had taken it to go and maybe it might've been bearable. But the fact that I ate im this restaurant was truly the most horrific place I've ever been in the recent memory. I don't understand how Panera national allows this hellhole to be part of their chain. read more

I haven't been to this location for a few years- but thought I would streamline the process by using the handy app on my phone and order ahead so it'd be ready when I walked in (It wasn't and it wasn't correct either.) But the first thing I noticed upon walking in the door was the overpowering smell of urine and mustiness- it was REVOLTING. And almost every single chair cushion in the entire place was tore up and stained in a disgusting fashion and I seriously did not want to sit on any of the furniture. It was as if once the store was designed and built 20 years ago it has never been cleaned or had any updates since opening day. When I tried to point out to the server that my order was not correct (She was the same one who originally gave me my order 5 minutes before) she informed me she "had already clocked out and couldn't help me." Don't worry- I will never set foot in that store ever again. read more

Mediterranean Grain Bowl with Broccoli Mac & Cheese. Delicious meal . Definitely coming back!!!

My first time at a Panera Bread. The cashier suggested the BBQ Chicken mac and cheese and also the Bistro French Onion Soup as my two choice deal. The BBQ chicken goes really well with the Mac n Cheese. The soup has sweet onions in a savory broth with classic sherry wine vinegar gastrique and sea salts topped with gruyere and black pepper focaccia croutons. I didn't really care much for the soup. read more

First of all, the place reeks of dirty kitchen cloths being used to clean the tables. The tables are dirty, and the chairs have torn upholstery. I asked for mac and cheese to go, and a chicken noodle soup for here, but both were given to go. A friend joined me and had some questions, but the person behind the counter seemed a little annoyed. Regarding the soup, the chicken noodle did not have any chicken. Come on, Panera, you guys are not cheap to have this experience. read more

I visited Panera Bread as a dine-in customer for lunch today. Unfortunately, I didn't see how dirty this place was until after I placed my order. This place needs a good scrubbing...ALL OVER. In my opinion, the bathroom was cleaner than the main dining area. The drink and condiment area was noticeably dirty and sticky looking. Also, gnats were hanging out at the fountain machine. It was very busy, so maybe the staff hadn't gotten a chance to wipe things down. Either way, it was unacceptable. My food tasted fine, but I was totally turned off and do not see myself returning. read more

Well, for a Panera Bread this one is bad. Usually Panera Bread can be counted on to be good. Not so here. The people were rude. They didn't want to do their jobs. I did get a yummy bagel, but the overall attitude of this Panera will not be on my return list C read more

I fell in love with Panera when I lived in Portland, OR, and was disappointed when I moved to New Orleans that there were none. This was the first location to open, and it happened to be between where I was working at that time and where I lived. When this location initially opened, traffic in the parking lot was miserable, the employees were uninformed and unpleasant to speak to, the service was shoddy, and even after you order at the counter, pay for your food and get seated, they might have lost your order. The wheels have been moving and things now seem to run smoothly, after several years. There is a parking lot in front, and one in the rear. The order counter is in the back, where you pick up your food is in the middle. This is wholesome fast food, not your typical for this area greasy food. The food is geared to be filling and kind of wholesome, while appealing to the masses. read more

Loved this place when I was in Columbus, Ohio and happy to see them here in the metro area. They offer some of the best salads and soups you can find and not even talking about all the great bread choices. I cannot wait till another location opens in New Orleans because the craze at the Metairie location is a little to much to handle right now. What makes this place great beyond just the food is that normally it has the Starbucks atmosphere where people come in order food and sit for hours on free wifi drinking all the free tea refills you can drink. That cannot be done at this location because of the maddening volume of business. Please open another location in town ASAP. read more

Pleasantly surprised. So, I was out in Metairie shopping for a rug. I needed something small and quick to eat before heading back Uptown. It was late in the day and I had dinner plans already. The young lady who took my order was very pleasant. She was tolerant of the bazillion questions I asked her. I ordered the Spicy Thai Salad with chicken. I asked that she 86 the wonton noodles and add extra cilantro. When I got to my table, I found pesky little wonton noodles all throughout my salad. No problem. I was a big boy and picked them out myself. The salad was incredible. It was very tasty with a good spicy kick. Potty Patrol: I forgot to mention that I went to the restroom before I ate. The restroom was not very clean. Worst of all, there were no paper towels. Clean hands are happy hands... I guess I can't complain too much. I did get a delicious salad out of the deal. read more

Regular Panera experience I've definitely been to worse ones service is fast and the seating is usually quiet barring the families of 10 that come in and let their kids use this place as a jungle gym food is good and the drinks are good what you'd expect from a Panera have definitely seen a lot of the teenage staff fucking around and not taking the job seriously but that seems all too common nowadays specifically writing this review for one of the staff there I forget her name but she's an older lady who's always so kindest to me and my woman she goes above and beyond every time to make sure we have had our orders taken and she brings our drinks to us she is the diamond in the rough and deserves a raise at the least and everything good this world has to offer at best thank you kind stranger for making our days brighter even on days where there's not one redeeming factor you shine through read more

Having a bit of an upset stomach wanted something fairly plane, so got the chicken and wild rice and the chicken noodle soup. I can say both had good flavor - just what I needed. However, both were also sadly lacking in the chicken department. I'd recommend adding some more veggies and at double the chicken as well. This would make for a much better and hearty soup. read more

Typical Panera. Food is generally consistent. Never had any issues with this location and if I needed anything they always assisted us. I had when restaurants put your food on a bookshelf for anyone else to pick it up. I ordered my birthday pasty to pickup after I finish running errands. Only to get there and it's gone. Someone else took it. And the manager racist ass didn't even offer an apology. All she kept yelling was it's free, it's free. I don't give a damn if it was free or $10 I ordered it for a certain time and it should be there. Word of advice STOP PUTTING PEOPLE STUFF ON A BOOKSHELF AND LEAVE IT BEHIND THE COUNTER.
