Came back here again because I was craving Bún Bò Huế. I love BBH, and anywhere that has it, I have to try it. The night we came was pretty busy. There was no wait, but the restaurant only has two big tables and a few smaller ones, so it was quite loud. My husband ordered the pho brisket, and I got the BBH. I can't eat pork knuckle, so I substituted it with extra tendon and meatballs--just the way I like it. The server forgot my modification when the dish first came out, but it was totally fine. I could tell it was an honest mistake, and he didn't mean to forget. My husband's pho was good as usual, and my BBH was also very good. I really liked that the flavor reminded me of Vietnam. I'm always searching for a BBH that tastes exactly like the one I had back home--it's not quite there yet, but it's close. Overall, everything was good. I was craving Bánh Cuốn so I dragged my husband and his friend to Pho K. First off, we did order spring rolls and egg rolls. They were the typical and I did like how tight they were made so the filing doesn't fall out when you want to double dip them in your sauces. On the table, there are utensils, napkins, and additional tiny sauce cups too. I actually didn't know there were different types of Banh Cuon so I got the 8. Deluxe Steam Rice Roll / Bánh Cuốn Dac Biết. I wanted to try a bit of everything. The shrimp thing stayed crispy the whole time! The pickled meat was a nice flavor difference. The switch between rice paper and veggies for texture change was great. I honestly love how they prepared this dish. It's almost like a parade of flavors and textures with every other bite. Their menu also shows some interesting dishes. They have dry pho if you are craving for some on a hot day and want the flavors but not as a soup. Pho fillet mignon, and vegan vermicelli (good for all my halal/kosher/veggie friends). The staff and food service were quick but they never came back to refill my water. :( However, this tells me this will be a great place for lunch because they are REALLY FAST. Pho K is a pretty good Vietnamese restaurant here in Katy. Im only used to pho and bahn mi, so I was excited to try something new. I ordered the vermicelli bowl and my friend ordered another dish which I forgot the name but the picture is posted below. The food was good! Both dishes were good and were refreshing. I used to love this place. My family would come here all the time because they had great service and never skimped out on the food. But I think they changed management or have new employees. Not sure but it's just not the same anymore. I posted my receipt because on the menu they advertise that kids noodles with no meat is free. And it's been like that in the past always and they always honored it without me telling them. But since the change in management or what not they don't honor it but they still advertise it. I have no problem paying it but don't advertise it like that anymore. I came last time and they only honored it for one. But I still had to tell them and I'm not trynna remind you on what's on your menu. The food is good but you can tell they are skimping on the meat toppings with the pho. Houston doesn't have many good BBH places so Pho K has made it to my top 3 places for BBH now! The owner confirmed the sate and gio (pork patty) are made in house. One of the best sate I've ever tried. The broth of the BBH is so clean and flavorful with the right amount of spice! I tried the broth for the pho and it is also very flavorful! They worked really well together. The littles shared a large bowl of Chicken Phở and the hubby had Phở Filet Mignon. They all thought the broth was really good. However, the Chicken was a little tough and there wasn't much meat in the Filet Phở. I had the Bún Bò Huế and thought it was too sweet. The server asked if we wanted chili and that was a game changer. One scoop of the chili sauce and it will enhance any dish. Yum! My dish had loads of meat so I was grateful for that. Amazing broth!! I've had both the regular and the large size. I took down the entire regular bowl, broth and everything, the large is considerably larger and comes with much much more meat, so for $1 I definitely think you should get a large if you're hungry. Solid Bun Bo Hue! Large bowl was full of meat and a huge plate of veggies per person. Broth could use a bit more umami but other than that it really hit the spot. Also I might note for them to bring the noodle soup steaming hot next time because as soon as you dunk the entire plate of veggies in, it becomes lukewarm. Deducted 1 star for the pho broth being a tad warm and the tendon in my bowl was so hard and too chewy. The tendon definitely needs a bit of cooking Time and it would be better and more eatable. Pho broth was flavorful and has alot of pho aroma. Meat was tender and has decent portion. Overall, their pho was alot better than any pho places in Katy Asian Town. Also ordered a side of beef bone. Hello y'all - I love visiting home being Texas because every time I go there is always a new place to try. Pho get about going to downtown head over to the Katy, Tx area and this area is poppin' with all new restaurants. I was in the mood for some Vietnamese food but it was cold so I wanted Phó. Found this place that just opened up and decided to give them a try. Pho K was just opening up and they were still trying things out menu wise. It's not a huge place but it was nice and the service was good. Rumor has it that the owner was a famous singer but I didn't want to bother him asking questions. He was super nice kept checking on us and making sure we were happy. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet minus the tendon. The Pho smelled so good and the flavor was just right. It was served super hot so be careful if you are going in for a sip of the broth. The owner had said they were going to make a few changes to the kids food and pricing because he said kids don't eat a full meal and it's crazy to pay for something they just take a few bites of. So I'm guessing smaller portions and half the price. I recommend this place and I will have to return to try out other things. read more

In light of how Covid has impacted businesses, I hesitate to write a negative review but I feel that in this case it's warranted. The food at Pho K is decent. Even though Houston has so many Pho places to choose from we came to Katy from midtown area on a friend's recommendation to try Pho K. There were 8 of us and everyone got their food in timely fashion except one friend who ordered Banh Cuon. At first, it seemed reasonable to wait a little longer for banh cuon compared to the pho most of us ordered. The restaurant isn't that big, and we sat just in front of the register. It was pretty clear to any one that glanced over that everyone else is eating at the table except one person. 30 minutes passes and no server has even come by to check on us or follow up on my friend's missing meal. We finally ask a server passing by to check on the banh cuon and they ask us to give them a minute. Another sever comes back and lets us know that the order was never placed in the system. At this point we are all annoyed but we understand that mistakes happen sometimes. We wait another 20 minutes.. at this point most of us are pretty much finished with our meal. The owner walks by to ask how everything was. I told him honestly that my friend is still waiting on her food after nearly 1 hour.. and she missed out on eating dinner with us all. He nodded and said he will check on it again. We asked for the dish to go because we had other plans after dinner. They pack it up accordingly. When it came time to pay the bill, no one on the restaurant staff gave a single apology nor did they even offer us a mere 10% discount on the banh cuon or at least some free egg rolls to make up for their error. Coming from the service industry myself, I know I make mistakes too... but being apologetic and empathetic goes a long way.
