I really don't like to give only 3 stars, not for the food but mainly for the service. My husband and I were here yesterday. It took about 10-15 min for us to sit down. We couldn't figure out why everything was so slow... we finally got seated, got our menu, min later someone took our order. We got our appetizer first, no plates, no utensils, water or the pot of hot jasmine tea we ordered. My husband had to ask for the utensils. Arrived minutes later. There is only 2 people running the show! Omg one was running back and forth the other one was sweating his butt off, serving, taking orders, and giving people their checks. It was so chaotic to watch that all you can do is really be patient, you can obviously see that they are trying. It looks to be that they are very short staffed, a bus boy may be serves as a server and a cook, waiter etc. Our pho and egg rolls were delicious. I'm not sure how to rate this restaurant. We really love the food but service sucks so bad! Lol! Ordered Pho no. 1 Large. Specifically told our waiter we plan to share between 3 of us. Shrimp fried rice (delicious!), Diced filet mignon n Spring rolls. When Pho arrives, hv to ask for bowls. Can't find the beef balls inside Pho. When Spring rolls came, hv to ask for plates. When Shrimp fried rice came, hv to ask for forks too. How did they expect us to eat the fried rice? No one came to check on us. Hv to flag down wait staff. When its time to pay, we n another table hv to flag a waiter. The other table is a white guy (just pointing it out since he stands out). The waiter went to him first n then just ignored us. I had to raise my voice n says "hello!" for him to come back. I also asked for boxes. We hv leftover on all 4 dishes n he only gv us 2 boxes. I had to ask for 2 extra boxes. Sat down and was told to order the food tru the QR code, waited for one hr and was told the machine was broken and they didn't get our order ? And the chef left so they had to refund our money ??? We decided to come here since it was right off the freeway and on our way home. The place was packed which made us think it must be good (it's also Presidents' Day and people are off). We've been sitting down for about 30+ minutes now and everyone (literally like 5 tables) that arrived after us already received their food (all soups). I ordered vermicelli and my BF ordered a soup. When we asked about our order, we were told that it was more convenient for them to get the soups out and that now they were going to make my order. What kind of BS and what kind of mgr would allow this?? Really, because I didn't order a soup, my order gets placed last?? All in all, if you want to wait more than 30 min, then order something that is not soup!!! Very unorganized. This is a pretty solid Pho place. The broth is tasty and their portions sizes are decent. However, they are a bit pricier than other pho places I've been to. What I order: - I always come to this pho location because they have Bone Marrow (now $11, before it was cheaper)! The meat around the bone is super tender, and the bone marrow itself is rich with flavor. You use their ultra long spoon and just dig in. My parents love it and it's a must order for us. We only come for dinner because we were told that bone marrow was not available before like 5pm. So if you want to try this out, better to be safe and come for dinner. - Pho: You really can't go wrong with any of them, but I always prefer pho with steak and brisket. I get an extra large to share with my mom. Then I load it up with jalapeños, bean sprouts, herbs, and a drizzle of lime - Vietnamese Egg Rolls: Super crispy and hot! It comes with a dipping sauce, lettuce, and pickled veggies. A good appetizer before your noodles! Service: I've never had a problem with service even when it was busy. Gross. Mismanaged. Poor customer serivice. So I order a #12 which is a brisket only soup. The bowl gets delivered, and I'm happy. That is, until I see a gross dark hair tangled up with a noodle in my soup. I tell the waitress who tells the "manager" who looks at the hair and tells me that this happens often. Wait! What?! It happens OFTEN?! Then he asks if I still wanted the soup. Seriously?! Yeah, sure I want to eat something that had someone else's gross, disgusting hair in it. Sorry, but I'm not in the mood to digest someone else's DNA. So he takes the soup away, and minutes later brings me another bowl. Well geez, my family already finished their meal so pack it to go dude. He takes it back, comes back and tries to justify the hair by saying again it happens often even if they wear hair nets or hats. Not buying this. Then he brings a bowl of tendons to show me the hair that falls into that. Ok, now I'm nausiously grossed out. Dude. Just stop while your behind. Seriously. And as if to add insult to injury, he still has the audacity to charge me for the bowl of hair soup. OMG. He charged us for my bowl of hairy soup. WOW. Unbelievable. Last I looked, this was a supposed to be a restaurant not a hair salon. Now you would think this is as bad as it can get, right? Wrong! One of the waiters spilled hot soup on my son's lap when bringing his order earlier. Literally. He spills hot broth on my son's lap, places the bowl on the table then walks away. Came on a Sunday night and the place is packed. Service is pretty quick though. I ordered the house special combo large and shared it with my sister, since we were both not particularly starving. It was a decent amount of food. However I am giving this place 3 stars because their pho has such a strong star anise flavor. That was the deal breaker for me. As someone who has cooked pho before, I understand star anise is one of the fundamental flavors that make pho pho. However, I've been to countless restaurants in the past and the smell is usually pretty subtle. It is definitely not subtle here, let me tell you that. This place is amazing. I don't think I've had better pho in the area HONESTLY their pho is just so good! Comes out with flavorful piping hot broth, noodles are just right, vegetables are fresh, and meat is plentiful and tender!!! If I die, I'm bringing their pho with me to go. Restaurant is spacious, clean, and service is friendly. It's always packed in here, so it gets pretty loud sometimes. First, the food: Nothing special. Not great but not terrible. Second, the service: I ordered 4 items for pickup. When I arrived, only 1 was ready, I had to wait 15 minutes for the other 3 items. "Thank you for waiting" was, I'm assuming, the apology. When I arrived home, one of the meals was cold. Obviously the one that was sitting out for 15 minutes. No replacement, no discount, nothing. In addition, their prices doubled (assuming Covid, minimum wage increases and supply chain issues factor in), but the quality did not justify the hefty price Increase. Ordered pho here today...it was very busy at lunch time. Ordered steak and flank pho...got tripe or tendon in my pho (see pictures). No one offered me a drink...not even water. I basically ate the entire lunch period with no water/drink nor did they stop to ask if everything was ok or if i needed anything...which left me thristy. This place was okay! I ordered the large number 1 combo pho. It was indeed large and I am glad it filled me up. It usually takes quite a bit to get me very full. However, I thought the pho was okay. The meat prepared were all very fresh and very soft. The tendons were especially yummy. I also got the eggroll which was far more dense than I expected. It was just filled to the brim with this meat ball roll. It was very good and I would definitely have it again. I also tried the spring rolls. It gets very busy and rightly so. The service is fast and the food is good. The last two times I've been here I ordered to-go and it took a while, but the food is fresh and made to order. I tried calling ahead and the line was busy, so don't know what that was all about... I still am rating 5 because I've been pleased with the quality of food. Awesome place! Can't go wrong for some hot delicious Pho on this cold day or anytime you're craving for some delicious authentic Vietnamese foods. The service here is super amazing and all the employees here that have served us have been exceptionally friendly and attentive. We met with one of the co-owners of this establishment Debbie she was so friendly and attentive to my family. I'm so happy and wished them nothing but much success with the other location they opened up in Anaheim. I'm pretty sure it will be a major success since they set themselves apart from other Vietnamese restaurants. My husband and I have been eating and supporting Pho Ha establishment since the original location in Pomona since 1993 and have seen the family expanded to a successful business. Honestly don't listen to the terrible reviews! They are busy, not trying to be rude. They work on a fast pace, patience people patience. They are always friendly to us and the food is amazing. Authentic Vietnamese place and affordable too. I love good ambience with my Pho.. Don't know why this place is in the yellow but it's a must try in my book!!!
