Wire from a cleaning brush in my orange chicken

Ordered beef broccoli and orange chicken got all orange chicken and a little surprise with my food. Won't be going back.

My order brought it back home

A local fast-food Chinese spot named Wok Restaurant. This is in the same plaza as the Albertsons location in Diamond Bar. I have come here maybe three times in the past decades that I have lived here. But every time I do come here I was just craving some food like this. The lady here packs it to the max and you can pick two or three items with either rice or chow mein or half and half. I love the noodles here because I use red chili paste from my fridge to stir it in and it's nice and spicy. If you don't like spicy you can add some soy sauce that is also going to give you that saltiness. If you have it the way it is you might think it is too boring. But overall this place is nice and the price is super cheap. One order can for sure feed two people!

Chow Mein, Beef Broccoli, and Tangerine Chicken

Wok Restaurant serves Chinese fast food located in the same plaza as Albertsons in Diamond Bar. They're cash only. The menu is on a brightly lit screen that looks like it hasn't been updated since the 90's. And if they did update it, they used white tape with marker to update the prices. I ordered the Two Entree Combo with Chow Mein, Tangerine Chicken, and Beef Broccoli. The Chow Mein had great noodle texture, chewy, and bouncy however it was overly starchy as it had a starchy aftertaste. The Tangerine Chicken had great tangerine flavor except there was a heavier ratio of batter compared to the chicken. Some of the pieces were chewy. Great savory flavor on the Beef Broccoli. Most of the beef was chewy and some were tender. Some of the broccoli was super crunchy, others had a softer bite to it. They pack it and I mean packed to the point where some of the noodles were dangling out of the box and onto the metal counter. Cashier used the same gloves she used to handled the tongs to handle the money. Good ol' slimy cash. Service was pretty good. Cashier was friendly. Food was alright, I wouldn't make it a rush to go back.

    Box is overflowing.

Just look at the size of our box. It is literally overflowing. Food tastes amazing, authentic and fresh Chinese food (better than Panda Express). Their service is great, as you ask for an item, and they heap it into your box. This is a no-frills Chinese restaurant, which is just my type of place. My friend and I had just come back from a long 50 mile biking trip, and this is exactly what we needed. We were absolutely ravenous, and we still couldn't finish the boxes that they gave us! That's an absolute win. Definitely recommend, and coming back.

Great food for such a great price! If you're ever looking for fast food Chinese food, this is the place to go! Authentic, yummy, and cheap. I have to write a review for this mom and pop shop because my family has been coming here for years! They are so sweet and kind and give incredibly huge portions to everyone. Their combo plates are like $9 plus they stack you up! My personal favorite items are the sweet and sour chicken & salt and pepper pork. I also love their chow mein. If you're looking to feed a lot of people, they also cater! Note: cash only!

This is where Duck Palace really earns its name. The skin hits that ideal balance--lightly crisp with a slight lacquered sheen--while the meat underneath stays juicy and flavorful without being overly fatty. It's not trying to be trendy or reinvent anything; it's just done right. The seasoning leans traditional Cantonese--savory, slightly sweet, and aromatic without being heavy-handed. I did not try the supporting dishes, but they had a good variety outside the roast duck. This is where you can tell whether a place is a one-hit wonder or a true kitchen. They had BBQ combo plates, stir-fried dishes, and various sides. Service here is efficient, is part of the charm. You're coming for good food, done well. Best to call in to reserve a duck ahead of time because they will sell out by mid-afternoon. The space itself is clean and straightforward--more casual than upscale--but comfortable enough for both quick meals and relaxed family meals. What I appreciate most about Duck Palace is the consistency. The price is reasonable for what you are paying for and the duck combo meal is enough to feed 2-3 people. Pro tips: - Go earlier in the day if you want the freshest roast selections. - Takeout holds up surprisingly well (the duck skin still has some integrity if you don't let it sit too long). - Great option when you want authentic flavors without driving deeper into the valley. - Discount for paying in cash Bottom line: If you're in Diamond Bar and craving authentic Cantonese roast meats, Duck Palace is a reliable go-to. It may not be flashy, but it delivers where it counts--and sometimes, that's exactly what you want.

It was 79 degrees inside, muggy, humid, and completely uncomfortable. We almost turned around and left immediately. We both ordered hot tea. The menu clearly says in English that hot tea is $2.99. Nowhere does it clearly explain in English that you will be charged differently depending on how many people drink it. When the bill came, we were charged $5 each. Apparently, there is some clarification written in Chinese, but how are customers who do not read Chinese supposed to know that? That is completely misleading. The tea portions were not larger, not special, nothing different. Just basic tea. The pricing felt deceptive. We also ordered popcorn chicken and chili wonton soup. Both came out in tiny portions that looked like appetizers, yet the menu does not clearly label them as such. For what we received, paying over $30 total felt ridiculous. The food itself was mediocre at best. Nothing memorable and definitely not worth the price. Because of the uncomfortable temperature, confusing pricing, small portions, and average food, we chose not to leave a tip. As we were walking out, the waiter chased us outside and pressured us about the zero tip. That is completely inappropriate. Tipping is not mandatory. It is earned. Confronting customers outside over a tip is unprofessional and embarrassing. Between the heat, the questionable menu pricing, the small portions, and being confronted outside, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. We will never be back. There are plenty of better places within the same plaza than to dine here. I don't expect this place to last long anyway.
