Found this little mom and pop shop in Diamond Bar that is known for their roasted duck. Make sure to call ahead and place an order to either eat there or take home. They do run out of roasted duck by dinner time. We made a reservation for a party of 4 at 6:30 and by the time we got there, there was only our duck left! There's about 8-10 tables in the whole restaurant. We ordered the Duck Meal that's a 3 way eat! Roasted duck with wrap, duck soup and fried duck legs and neck with cumin. The roasted duck was pretty good and it was nice and meaty. We also ordered a few noodle soup and some cold side dishes. The pig ear was delicious and it was freshly mixed with cucumber, cilantro, peanuts and garlic. The spicy intestine noodle soup was tastier than the spicy beef noodle soup. It felt a bit more peppery. I was hoping for it to be spicy, but it wasn't so I added more chili that was on the table. The whole meal was $216 after tax and tip, for the amount of food we ordered, it was decently priced in my opinion. The service was great, the lady in the front was very attentive. They seem to only speak mandarin. I would come back for either the pig ear cold dishes and the roasted duck. Don't get this place confuse because it is not Peking Duck like Ji Rong, the skin is not that nice crispy/crunchy skin. The husband and wife team was nice but they only speak Chinese but I managed to place my order using the universal method of finger pointing (their two sons are fluent in English though when they showed me the restroom). The duck meal consists of thinly sliced duck with rice paper (I prefer the buns but to each his own). The soup with duck bones and soft tofu was quite good but the fried duck neck and leg bones were amazing. Imagine chewing on some fatty,salty,umami duck jerky and you would want some beer or soju to go with it. The duck itself was tender and flavorful and if you don't give a duck about ambience or the presentation at your table (if you do then check out Chang'An in Tustin) then you will have some good duck at almost half the price. Speaking of pricing this meal used to be $58 a few weeks ago but now it's $68 (will be $88 at some point?). They also have other items like fried duck parts and other looks like appetizers. I tried the chicken gizzards in chili oil and it had a hint of Szechuan pepper and even it's not very spicy and salty I enjoyed it so much I would order it again.
