Duck Palace is an interesting place. Duck is in their name. Duck is what you should order. The only thing Canto about this place is the app description. Employees mainly speak Mandarin and limited English. Their duck bento comes with a generous amount of duck, a seaweed salad and shredded potato salad. Their duck is just like a Canto roast duck in it's flavoring. The salads makes it different. It's a nice change of pace from the roast duck rice from other places that I normally get. They also serve a crispy pork belly. The pork belly seems deep fried. It is nice and crunchy, yet very soft and tender as you bite into it. The pork belly comes with a scoop of the cumin seasoning. Man this place is good. The duck tastes just like the ones in Hong Kong. I didn't get any of that "duck taste", which is amazing. Most duck places in SGV still have the gamey taste of duck. Truly a hidden gem! I had been craving Peking Duck for a while and stumbled upon this place while perusing Yelp. It was very white pepper forward (which I really liked) and overall a good complement to the whole meal. Now the main star of the meal was the duck itself and the meal came with 2 whole plates of it all deboned! The Peking duck comes with a steamed box of thin pancakes wraps, sliced cucumbers, and sliced scallions. They have the duck feet, tongue, legs, body, and whatever part you can think of. My family and I tried their duck bento, spicy pork belly cold dish, and spicy brisket rice noodles soup. My favorite was actually the rice noodle soup. The noodles were uniquely chewy in a good way. The duck was average, nothing more special than any other place. I think I enjoy Tasty Box's duck more. The spicy pork belly was decent too. Found this little mom and pop shop in Diamond Bar that is known for their roasted duck. Make sure to call ahead and place an order to either eat there or take home. They do run out of roasted duck by dinner time. We made a reservation for a party of 4 at 6:30 and by the time we got there, there was only our duck left! There's about 8-10 tables in the whole restaurant. We ordered the Duck Meal that's a 3 way eat! Roasted duck with wrap, duck soup and fried duck legs and neck with cumin. The roasted duck was pretty good and it was nice and meaty. We also ordered a few noodle soup and some cold side dishes. The pig ear was delicious and it was freshly mixed with cucumber, cilantro, peanuts and garlic. The spicy intestine noodle soup was tastier than the spicy beef noodle soup. It felt a bit more peppery. I was hoping for it to be spicy, but it wasn't so I added more chili that was on the table. The whole meal was $216 after tax and tip, for the amount of food we ordered, it was decently priced in my opinion. The service was great, the lady in the front was very attentive. They seem to only speak mandarin. I would come back for either the pig ear cold dishes and the roasted duck. Don't get this place confuse because it is not Peking Duck like Ji Rong, the skin is not that nice crispy/crunchy skin. Though my parents would normally make the trek to San Gabriel Valley for some good duck, I convinced them to try this new place out. They were running a special for a family meal with duck prepared in 3 ways: fried, soup, and Peking All of it was delicious and they provided every condiment to complement the meal from the pancake wraps and hoisin sauce to the scallions & thinly sliced cucumbers. Came here today since I was craving duck and realized it was in the same plaza as my go-to boba spot. We ordered the duck set (recommended by the waiter), and it was amazing! I tried to get there before 4:30 because I heard the rumor all the ducks leave the palace after 5pm. This is a small cozy restaurant with a few tables but I think most of the orders are for takeout. The husband and wife team was nice but they only speak Chinese but I managed to place my order using the universal method of finger pointing (their two sons are fluent in English though when they showed me the restroom). The duck meal consists of thinly sliced duck with rice paper (I prefer the buns but to each his own). The soup with duck bones and soft tofu was quite good but the fried duck neck and leg bones were amazing. Imagine chewing on some fatty,salty,umami duck jerky and you would want some beer or soju to go with it. The duck itself was tender and flavorful and if you don't give a duck about ambience or the presentation at your table (if you do then check out Chang'An in Tustin) then you will have some good duck at almost half the price. Speaking of pricing this meal used to be $58 a few weeks ago but now it's $68 (will be $88 at some point?). They also have other items like fried duck parts and other looks like appetizers. I tried the chicken gizzards in chili oil and it had a hint of Szechuan pepper and even it's not very spicy and salty I enjoyed it so much I would order it again.
